"The traditional colonial goods store is located in the sweet corner of the picturesque Niederdorf. It first opened its doors in the year 1864 and has been run by the family Schwarzenbach up to this day. The delicious aroma of coffee, oriental spices and dried fruits seduce the visitor into the world of senses. Schwarzenbach has a huge variety of finest tea, exquisite coffee, chocolate, home-grown dried fruits, pasta, rare herbs, honey, exotic spices, pastry and much more. "The Schwarzenbach storefront is split into three parts, with each section focusing on different types of dry goods, chocolate, and coffee, which staff roast in a window open to the street. One of the storefronts, with two small benches affixed to the window, sells hot chocolate; Schwarzenbach’s offering is a bit milkier than some competitors, with a solid layer of froth on top, and the outdoor seating makes a great spot for people-watching before popping back into the store to pick up a chocolate bar or some tea." - N.A.
