Google
A MUST VISIT! This was my first time in Rome and I wanted the best coffee and pastries. This place did not disappoint. Lorenzo and Claudio were so welcoming and made me feel at home on every visit. They made the best recommendations for food and coffee. This place was so cozy and inviting we made it our go-to coffee spot during our visit in Rome. Delicious coffee and pastries…be sure to ask for Claudio or Lorenzo for the BEST service and try the tiramisu!

Their cappuccino was the best I have ever had. The staff was also kind and good smile. I’ll totally recommend here for the breakfast and morning coffee

Super nice atmosphere inside as well as outside. Delicious coffee and pastries! Our server Claudio was great! Fair prices. Would always come back when in Rome.

This is a traditional historic coffee bar in Prati since 1919. By now it’s been also discovered by tourists but mainly local people from the area go there every morning and you can really see how they welcome repeated clients. The coffee is literally outstanding! If you want to know what a great coffee and espresso taste like make sure to go there. Like any typical Italian coffee bar, they have also tons of cornetti/ sweets and panini to grab something salty later in the day. The style of the place is very traditional and full of sweets and coffee beans for purchase. The staff is what you would expect from a typical Roman crew; always cracking jokes and having a good time. I love going there just for the overall vibe and starting the day in the right direction. 😍 ☕️

Historic café since 1919 in Prati, right near the Vatican. Known for expert coffee like espresso and its special caffè con cioccolata—rich and aromatic. The pastries are a nice bonus too. Many locals and visitors say it’s one of the best spots for a real Italian coffee experience.

We stayed in a hotel close by and had breakfast at Sciascia Caffe all mornings of our trip, we were served by Lorenzo who was always very friendly and made our experience even better. The food and coffee were also really nice. 5 stars fully recommend it. Grazie mille, Lorenzo ⭐️

Google
Great spot for a coffee, pastry, mini bites or many other treats. Had the best chocolate espresso at Sciscia and I recommend trying it as well when you visit.

Google
Espresso perfetto - no other description necessary. Espresso with dark chocolate very nice as well. Cross section of the croissant tells thousand words…When in Rome, drink espresso as Romans do 😀

Yelp
Very nice coffee. One of the best affogato I have ever had. We even bought some coffee beans to bring back home.

Yelp
Absolutely adored this caffe in the Prati neighborhood near to the Vatican! Opened in 1919, they have a unique (and secret) blend of coffee that's to die for. Sat on the patio and just enjoyed people watching, a welcome respite after the Vatican crowds. We popped by in the afternoon for an espresso (with chocolate as suggested by our server) and it was incredible. It was around 4 in the afternoon so it wasn't busy as it's between lunch and aperitivo.

Yelp
ill start off by saying that I probably I didn't order the right things because this place has fabulous reviews. however, i'll be candid about my experience. it is such a cute coffee shop with great outdoor seating and a beautiful interior. the servers were very friendly despite me not speaking any italian. this place definitely receives less american tourists and feels a bit more local (did hear other european languages being spoken though, so still tourists). the reason why it gets 3 stars is because the pastries were stale and at least a day old, and we were not fans of the coffee. the latter is probably user error as we should have opted for a straight espresso or cappuccino, but I think fresh pastries are a mark of a good coffee shop and that was lacking. may come back to give this place a second chance though and order based on other people's reviews

Yelp
The best and probably only reason to go here is the coffee. I never drink coffee but I very much enjoyed it from here. The other breakfast items were not great, cold and bland.

Yelp
After a morning well spent in the Vatican, we found ourselves wandering around Prati. I wanted to stop in for a quick caffe and some time off my feet. Yelp to the rescue! This is a great neighborhood cafe not infested with (many) tourists. The coffee was good and strong, striking the right balance of flavor. The server, prompt and pleasant, was also not intrusive or hovering, just chillin. Great spot and saved for my future Roma adventures.

Yelp
We came for a quick snack in the afternoon after lunch. We got 2 orange juices (4,50) and 1 maritozzo (2,50). Very fresh and quick. Cute little place for a snack. The staff are really friendly

Yelp
Our favorite coffee shop while in Rome! We would come every morning for about 4 days. First off, we were confused by the process since it was our first time in Italy and had no idea how to order the coffee. So, the trick is to either order at the register first or order at the bar and pay afterwards. Pastries were delicious, the coffee was amazing, and the service was the best!

Yelp
I initially found Sciascia Caffe while looking for a caffe that opened early in the mornings and within the area that I was staying in. My first time at the caffee I was able to enjoy early morning, empty and quiet streets in Roma beforehand. Upon entering Sciascia I immediately noticed how many locals frequent the caffee. I took a look around and grabbed a menu to place an order. You will want to place an order first at the register, take your receipt to the counter, and wait for the lovely staff to complete your order. After now visiting Sciascia many times I've noticed that the locals will quickly down their espresso and isn't in the caffee for more than 5-10 mins max. It is a great place for people watching and I always snag my little table in the corner each time. I've ordered the same two items each time and I have not been disappointed -- chocolate cappuccino with a ham and cheese croissant. I am not a fan of sandwiches so to my surprise I was thrilled when I fell in love with this simple yet oh so delicious sandwich! I always frequent Sciascia in the mornings so this is a nice breakfast substitute esp after being slightly toasted. I highly recommend this caffee as it makes me feel less like a tourist and more like an Italian.

Yelp
Enjoyed a chocolate espresso this morning. Cute ambiance. Classic style and service. Ordered three pastries to try them and they were just ok. Probably not worth the calories but you may feel differently.

Yelp
I haven't found a more Italian coffee counter in Rome more authentic, historic, and and "real" than this one. They also have bite-sized bites of bombolonis, cassata, and other traditional Italian desserts. Great coffee, full bar, and great bites - and at great prices. This place attracts locals and makes them sing!

Yelp
Impeccable Italian coffee shoppe. Beautiful presentation, great expresso, pastries. Close to our hotel, great location. Going back again before we leave. Best I have had

Yelp
Early morning breakfast in Rome. Excellent service and food. I enjoyed a lovely cup of tea and coffee here.

Yelp
Latte and cappuccino are fairly good. The desert drinks are more outstanding. I like the pretty atmosphere and the friendly service.

Yelp
What an experience! I entered and breezed past what looked like a shop counter. In the back, you'll find a classic coffee bar. I ordered my cappuccino from an impeccably dressed barista and then added on a pain au chocolat since they looked dope as well. The barista served my drink on the counter, and I readied to pay... except she never turned around. Eventually, I just took my coffee to the standing counter and drank it. But then how to pay? I didn't even have a receipt! I put my dishes back and said grazie, but still no receipt. So, I walked back to the shop counter area and paid. That part was weird. I'm pretty sure I could have walked right out. It was also total honor system for me telling them what I ordered. I do think some people prepaid but not all of them, so you might want to prepay if you know what you want.

Yelp
Delightful coffee drinks. Nice outdoor seating. Croissant sandwich was to die for. I would say the outdoor seating is also very nice and the street view is awesome.

Yelp
The is definitely one of the better cafes we visited in Rome. Service here is excellent as we were quickly tended to. Our group of 4 ordered prosciutto and cheese cornetto, pistachio cornetto, some sort of cream filled donut (I forget the name), and of course some cappuccinos and espressos. Out of everything, I would definitely come back for a prosciutto and cheese cornetto with a cup of cappuccino or espresso. Their cappuccino is excellent with a great foam cap and the espresso used was rich and smooth. The inside was quite busy on a Monday morning with a lot of hustle and bustle but definitely settled down a bit later on. I'd come back again.

Yelp
Was the first place I visited in Rome and was a delicious place to stop! Cappuccino was amazing and the people who worked there were kind and helpful as I tried to make my order in Italian. Visited by lots of locals and tourists, it is a fun place to people watch and see what is going on.

Yelp
I went to have a ristretto (short) espresso. It's semi chaotic while bustling with blue collar construction workers, students, touristas, men and women in business attire, etc. I ordered a "caffe espresso" and was served a thick and rich short pour. I was in heaven. I later came back for another espresso and bought a 2# bag of beans which I am sadly finishing off. Order at the cashier and then go in to the back and show your slip to the barista. Have your coffee rubbing elbows with others there at the bar. Take in the well oiled machinations of baristas and servers preparing perfect ristretto, cappuccino or whatever other coffee drink you fancy. When I specified ristretto to the barista he eyed me suspiciously as if I didn't know what I was doing. I knew exactly what i was doing. You can order a sacrilegious Americano but be prepared for a dirty look and/or eye roll! If you choose to sit outside you'll miss the show and pay more for your drinks. This is a fun place for a true coffee lover. I highly recommend the espresso and the beans.

Yelp
Nice place to sip good quality coffee. We had the 1919 and another kind( don't remember the name) it's an old and very well known cafe in Rome.
google avatar

Ashley D.

Yelp
Walking distance from the Vatican and is quite empty when you come in the morning. The workers were very kind and all greeted me with a smile. I didn't get to try their famous chocolate Cappuccino, but the regular cappuccino was delicious. It was also reasonably priced (if you are looking for what things cost they are listed on the left side of the bar on a yellow board)

Yelp
I hate mediocre anything, so I looked up best cappuccino in Rome, & what I found was a list done by none other than CNN (The 15 Best Coffee Bars in Rome, CNN Travel, 7/12/17). This caffe was on that list. Tucked away in a residential neighborhood, this was a delight from start to finish. I had been told that Italians never drink cappuccino after 11:00 AM; it's considered to be a breakfast drink. So, not wanting to scream "I'm a tourist," I abided by this rule. This caffe is classic. It's elegant & streamlined. The caffe itself is small, with an entry "shop" where the cashier is, that sells gourmet things...chocolates, etc. The whole experience was old-worldly. The croissants looked amazing, & they were. The cappuccino was poetically good. Service was outstanding. A real neighborhood spot. Patrons came in w their dogs. The dapper baristas knew their names. I loved it all. One of my favorite cafes in Rome. 5 stars

Yelp
The place is really cute, I love the little bar in the back room. The coffee was quite good, and the snacks made for a great quick breakfast before running around the city. Service was excellent and friendly, lots of locals were here at 7am with us.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a nice cafe recommended to us by our friend here in roma. He told us about their chocolate coffee and described it as heavenly. So needless to say we came here the next day. It can be pretty busy and there seems to be an endless churn of mostly local customers. We ordered the chocolate cappuccino and absolutely love it. If it weren't for needing to sleep tonight, I might have gotten a few more cups.

Yelp
I drink iced coffee two or sometimes even three times back home (Los angeles). I had never tasted iced coffee as good as I had here, EXCELLENT! enough said I think! PS. Best cornetti I've ever had too!

Yelp
Great service was very quick with out order, and accommodating. Not your Typical Starbucks , I got the Cappuccino canela with a sugared Pastry was very delicious.

Yelp
Great juice bar and lovely coffee. You can get the coffee with a splash of chocolate in it as well. Great establishment and gets crowded fast, so go early if you can.

Yelp
Best coffee in Rome. In a great upscale residential neighborhood north of Vatican. Filled with Italians that been going there for many years. Coffee is yummy. True Italian place.
google avatar

Sandy S.

Yelp
Sciascia Caffe was the best coffee we had in Rome. We tried a few other places but kept returning here. Their cappuccino was amazing! Take the time to sit and watch the baristas who move around like they are in a ballet. It was awesome to watch. The cappuccino freddo was terrific! Don't look any further than Sciascia if you are looking for graet coffee in Rome.

Yelp
I stayed in a hotel down the street from this caffe and i'm so sad I didn't try it sooner!! You pay in front (if there's someone at the cash register) and then take your receipt and walk towards the bar in the back, give it to a free barista and then take your drink. ORDER THE GRAN CAPPUCCINO EXCELLENTE. 2 shots of espresso, mocha sauce, some milk, whip cream and chocolate chips... its absolutely heavenly. I went there in the morning and wanted to return for another cup! My sister isn't a huge coffee drinker and she loved it as well. A regular cappuccino was 1.5 euros I think, and the gran cappuccino excellente was 3 euros. There were a lot of seats so we were able to sit down and observe locals coming in to drink their coffee at the bar. Coffee will never taste the same...
google avatar

Jia O.

Yelp
For my family's last coffee in Rome, we were lucky to stop by Sciascia. Get their specialty, the gran caffe excellent - double shot of espresso with mokka and cream, it's absolutely decadent, spoil yourself, why not? The interior is classy, well-heeled Italians walked in for a caffe at the bar while we were there, friendly staff as well, a gem in Rome.

Manu R.

Yelp
The cappuccino here is AMAZING! YOu can really tell that the coffee is top quality. The place is comfy and classic. I came here in a hot day but I think I will appreciate the ambience even more during cold season

Melissa R.

Yelp
Cute coffee shop in Prati! I had a cappuccino and a croissant with cheese and prosciutto inside. It was delicious! I'll definitely be coming back here again. Oh and there's also free WiFi which is a plus!

David R.

Yelp
Best croissants in Europe. The breakfast one for 4 euros in my mouth was as if I made love. Perfection. Coffee and the pastry was delicious too but the croissant, to die for.
google avatar

Felice M.

Yelp
Best coffee I have had in Rome so far ! The 20 min walk from piazza del Popolo was well worth it.
google avatar

Christopher S.

Yelp
One of the best coffee spots in Rome, definitely the best in Prati. As a rule of thumb, if you pay more than 1 euro for coffee, it's not good. A coffee is .90 Euro (perfect). Guy's behind the bar are professional, polite, and fast. They make the best Caffe Freddo I've ever had, ever. I frequent Sciascia every day after class and it's spot on every time. If you go to Sciascia, just be prepared because your Starbucks will never cut it ever again.

Yelp
Great little spot. Caffe is good (I had with chocolate) and staff is super friendly! Very tasty pastries and good spot to relax.
