A Beloved Taco Spot Lands in a Virginia Brewery — And More November Openings Around D.C. | Eater DC

Had the Bolognese Rigatoni. Pasta was made fresh with a good amount of meat, taste wasn't super flavorful, but not bad either. A good mild Bolognese taste. Would have liked a small side for the price ($16 for a bowl of pasta)

Google
Very good place. It’s like italy. I got the spaghetti with white truffle sauce and it was amazingly delicious with a savory rich taste. Prices are fair. Not that bad. But please dont raise prices higher.

Google
Been to a lot of pasta spots in the area…their truffle chicken pasta is amazing. I’m addicted to it. It’s a 9/10 only because I like a little more spice.

Google
Came here for the first time and the pasta is actually made fresh. They have a little area where you can watch them make them. Wait time is like 5 mins so super quick. Love that it’s halal so I really enjoy the bolognese option. You get a good amount of pasta. Total came out around $42 for two bolognese pasta and two water bottles.

Google
The food is tasteless, unfortunately. It looks much more better than it is in real life. The service and atmosphere were not bad, but I was so hungry and expected something better for my $20 (squid pasta plus extra chicken). Do not recommending, sorry.

Google
I really like Scolapasta! I love that it is a fast casual pasta restaurant and the location is convenient if you are already at Tysons Galleria. I have tried both the pesto and the Cacio E Pepe, and I enjoyed both of them. The truffle pasta is also good. I will note the dishes can get a bit expensive with the add-ons so just be aware of this. I was surprised one time when I ordered and they asked me if I wanted Parmesan on it, and then I got charged an extra dollar. I felt a little surprised and misled, but I went back anyway a different time (ha). The cannolis are yummy!! I’d recommend as a simple sweet treat. Seating is tricky, you usually have to wait for a table to open up if you’re there on a weekend.

Google
I got their Chef Special Shrimp Spaghetti, and there are two small shrimps in the whole thing. Meat/Addons portions are super small. Also it takes forever to get your food. Make sure you bring you own meat and ready to wait forever when you come here

Google
If you’re looking for fresh pasta to try out, this is the place! Cooking fresh pasta is very challenging but they know what they’re doing. Got the Tagliatelle with arrabiatta sauce and added meatballs. It was piping hot, so be careful! Portion size is very good especially for the price. Appreciated the fast service. I only gave it 4 stars because mine was a little overcooked. Overall, great pasta!

Alara K.

Yelp
hands down the best and fastest italian food ever!! I got the Arrabbiata and the spice level was on point. Overall 100/10 recommended!!!!

Yelp
Food came out piping hot, steam rising out of the very cool containers. An upscale version of the classics Chinese takeout containers. We ordered Shrimp Scampi, The Rustica and The Classic. I've had better meatballs but we came for the fresh pasta and it did not disappoint. Great chew and texture. I love the concept of high quality food in a fast casual setting. I wish more restaurants would follow suit. After all, the food should be the star. Need a location in Loudoun County, please.

Yelp
Thanks to Instagram for showcasing this place! And IG did not disappoint! This is located in Tysons II Food Court area so there is a lot of seating if you come with a big group or your family. Service was very friendly and patient with the questions we had. So you can build your own or order the menu they have. I got the Pesto. I love how the noodles were firm but yet still soft! Don't know too much about pasta, but this hit different. Would highly recommend trying this spot if you haven't done so already.

Yelp
Scolapasta has been on my to-try list for a while now, and I finally came here to grab a quick dinner. It took me a while to find where Scolapasta was located in Tysons Galleria (it's not listed in the mall directory kiosk). Find Scolapasta on the third level in a nook between Andy's Pizza and Shotted. It's a fast-casual type place where you order and pay at the register. It's a simple menu where you pick your pasta type, sauce, and then can add extra proteins or special cheeses. They also had chef specials of more classic dishes like shrimp scampi. I opted for the Radiatori (pasta with ruffled edges like radiators - great for absorbing sauce) and white truffle sauce ($15). All of the pastas are made in-house and they have a nice little display at the counter to admire the pasta and help you get an idea of each shape. They'll call your order number when your food is ready. There's no speaker system or screen to check, so stay close! Food was ready in less than 10 minutes. Food was served in cardboard to-go containers. There's plenty of seating in this eatery corner. Based on previous reviews, I was worried that the serving size would be skimpy, but I actually think it's a fair portion - if you were to dump the box onto a plate, it would be consistent with a regular restaurant serving (the to-go box just makes it seem more compacted). I enjoyed my white truffle pasta and would be satisfied ordering it again and again. They also top it off with a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese - and cheese makes everything better :). Even though it's a fast casual place, I do think the staff could be more engaging. As a first-timer, more signage of "order here" or even just willingness by staff behind the register to orient you to the concept would've been welcomed. They had a nice display of desserts in their glass case, including cannolis and tiramisu. I'll have to try them next time, because there will be a next time -- I'll be back ;). Note: They tack on a 3% processing fee to your check.

Yelp
Heard they had squid ink scampi pasta, so I had to check it out. Spoiler, it was AMAZING. The cashiers were very nice and helpful AND THE INTERIOR is literally to die for.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try ScolaPasta and finally tried it. Their pasta was pretty good! They advertise handmade pasta made daily. I felt like it was cooked well, not too hard or soft. I ordered the Cacio e pepe with chicken. The sauce was tasty but I felt like it needed some more sauce or it all just went towards the bottom of the box. I like how it is served in a handheld box and you can just eat right out of the box. I added chicken to my pasta and it was a generous portion.

Yelp
Great concept, reminded me of Vappiano's from years back. They're located in the food court of Tyson's Galleria next to Andy's Pizza. You get your choice of 5 fresh pastas, then you pick your sauce and add a protein if you like. The staff are very friendly and the wait time is minimal ( due to the pasta being fresh). They serve the pasta in Chinese style boxes, and they're filled pretty well. I ordered the Rustica, a chef specialty casarece pasta with fresh mozzarella and arrabbiata sauce, it was amazing the pasta was al dente, and the sauce was just the right amount of spiciness. I ordered the cannoli dessert, they were delicious also. I recommend trying scolapasta, if you're looking for quality pasta at an affordable price

Yelp
Okay so this spot was actually pleasantly surprising! I didn't think it would be all that but for fast casual pasta it taste amazingggg!!! It was so good I came here twice back to back You can taste the quality of the pasta. I ordered the truffle white pasta and added chicken to it. It was very delicious. I'll be back again to try something else. The service was quick and easy, but there's not much service required to order here. There's plenty of seats and it's located inside the food court of the Tysons Galleria mall.

Yelp
Found this place on the third floor food court at Tyson Galleria. It is tucked in the back. The seating area is nice and comfy. My daughter is a picky eater and she only eats pesto sauce, so I am glad this place has it! I think pasta quality is not bad and the sauce was delicious. $13 for a simple (without any proteins) pasta is reasonable at an upscale food court. Negatives are the pasta was overcooked....and they basically force you to tip for takeout (as they don't have no tip or skip button...so you would have to select custom tip and put $0, which I'm sure lots of people feel unconfortable doing including myself). Overall not a bad place to have a quick bite at Tyson Galleria.

Yelp
Came for Tuesday lunch so service was extremely quick! It's a great grab and go spot since the pasta comes packed in a box already. (Although having a to-go aesthetic at a bougie mall is a bit odd) The staff was super nice - I asked for a creamy pasta recommendation and was debating between the white truffle vs the shrimp scampi and she offered to let me try both sauces to help decide. Ended up getting the white truffle pasta and was not disappointed!

Yelp
Delicious fresh pasta made to order, the mushroom truffle pasta is divine! The food is carried out in a Chinese like to-go box similar to Honeygrow. There's no for here option to get the pasta on a plate! It's a bummer! Thee are 5 types of fresh pastas to order from ranging on the length and thickness from thin long noodles like spaghetti and tagliatelle to thicker smaller pastas like radiatore and casaprese and hollow pasta like rigatoni. There are 8 sauces to choose from pesto, creamy white sauces, and a few types of red tomato sauces with meat, herbs, and spices. You can add chicken and cheese on top as an upcharge. I enjoyed the twisty noodle Casaprese in the creamy white truffle sauce! The thicker noodle pasta was al dente and paired really well and absorbed the sauce, the mushrooms were on point. The sauce is a bit oily as there was a small pool of oil at the bottom. My kids enjoyed the thick Radiatore with Pesto sauce that had tiny granular chunks of pine nuts mixed in (my kids didn't even notice them!). While the pasta was tasty, I preferred the creamy white sauce. I wish there were some more options to add veggies and also to feature gnocchi or a ravioli. Great pasta place and look forward to coming back for the creamy white truffle sauce and trying out more pasta and sauce combinations!
google avatar

Hiral D.

Yelp
Great pasta although a bit pricey depending on the sauce and protein combo you get. You choose pasta, a sauce and one topping. They are pretty strict about the sauces (I wanted half truffle and half pomodoro). If you can't decide what to get, you can pick from the chef's favorites. I ate all the pasta and thought it was delicious but wanted more pasta (although I probably didn't need more pasta). I got the casarecce pasta with white truffle sauce and mozzarella. I wish there were a few more toppings available like veggies but it was still good without it. The pasta a was served in these tall cardboard take out containers. I found it a little strange and difficult to eat from but overall I thought the pasta was yummy. I'd get it again if I'm in the area.
google avatar

Chi L.

Yelp
Service here was super friendly and guided me to the perfect menu choice. I love that there is plenty of seatings that are comfortable for you to hang out at and have a nice meal of handmade pasta. (They make it right out in the open) This is a build your own pasta, you choose the type of noodle, the sauce, and option to add in protein. I ordered the Radiatori noodles with the Cacio E Pepe. I was afraid that the pasta would not be as flavorful but nope, full of perfect amount of creaminess and the freshly ground pepper was in the perfect size where it stood out. Perfect place to grab a quick bite to eat yet not having to sacrifice quality.

Yelp
Sooo good! Fresh ingredients, quick service, and awesome taste. You can design your own pasta or order from 4 chef picks. This spot is in the upper food court past Shotted coffee bar. It can be tough to get a seat but there are bar side stools and some food court areas. It's inside a giant mall so you can find a seat elsewhere if need be.

Yelp
What a nice and unique addition to Tysons Galleria. It's pasta, chipotle style. You pick the pasta you want, then the sauce, and finally the toppings. They also have some preset chef's favorites. We tried the shrimp scampi which is a chef's favorite, along with radiatori with white truffle sauce and mozzarella, and rigatoni with arrabbiata sauce and mozzarella. My favorite out of the three was the radiatori with the white truffle sauce. The radiatori has a nice shape that soaks up all the sauce and it's very fun to eat. My second favorite was the rigatoni with the arrabbiata sauce. That sauce had a huge kick. It was good and I loved it. But if you're not used to spicy, I wouldn't recommend it. We came on a Sunday evening and it was packed. They did their best moving the line with awesome service and a smile on their faces. They ran out of meatballs and mushrooms to the truffle sauce. But we will try that next time! I miss Urban Space pre-Covid. But I am loving the new food venues that add so much personality to Tyson's Galleria.
google avatar

Gloria M.

Yelp
I ordered the tagliatelle with meatballs as a quick snack while shopping at the mall. The order was ready in about 5 minutes and the pasta was fresh and delicious. The sauce has a good flavor and plenty of tomatoes, it was actually enough for 2 people to share. There is a bar area for seating and several tables surrounding.
google avatar

Amir A.

Yelp
Plenty of parking and awesome vibe in the co located area of Shotted and Andy's pizza in Tyson Galeria. The really cool thing is that they make the pasta in front of you after your order. It tasted fresh and delicious sauces. The meat was perfectly tender and finally had an actual taste of a chicken ( perhaps it was an organic chicken without and antibiotics and GMO!!). We ordered different pastas and sauces, and it all came steamy hot and flavorful. The only thing I am still wondering whether it is a good thing to be serving the food in boxes of carton or not. Made it feel like Italian streetfoodish if that is a thing. They struggled a bit with the rewards and perks so that's a minus in addition to that it was a bit pricey. But all in all I recommend taking tour over for the fresh pasta experience.
google avatar

Annette L.

Yelp
Pasta in a box! Yay!? Just a little skeptical at first as pasta should never be served in a box but it turned out to be delicious! We got the truffle alfredo which was piping hot, oh so truffley, and creamy. The pasta came out super quickly and everything was delicious. I would def recommend this place but I will say it is a tad bit pricey for what I thought it would be.
google avatar

Yelp
Food: Great price for the amount of food we got. It was delicious!! I got the spaghetti with capio di peppo with chicken. Sooo yummy. My friend got the shrimp scampi and offered me a bite. It was also very good. Service: Only one register so you have to wait for the people ahead of you. I went at prime dinner so there was a line but it wasn't bad. Ambiance: Let me tell ya, I've been to way too many malls but I've never been to a food court THIS FANCY before. I mean the decor was outstanding. Lots of seating - tables and chairs and lounge sofas as well. On the other side of the floor are more options. I think they had a bar but it closed during and never reopened after the Pandemic.
google avatar

Yelp
Wow wow wow! Mall food courts are generally less than stellar, but to be fair we were at Tyson's Galleria so it's slightly elevated haha! Anyways... Scola Pasta is insanely delicious and for a quick stop pasta place, I am so impressed. The rigatoni was perfectly al dente, the truffle Alfredo was creamy and decadent, and the portion size was enough to feed two of us. And it was a pretty good price too for the amount you get! We did a mix and match pasta to make our own and added chicken to our pasta. But I would go back and for sure try a bunch of other combinations because it is so fun! We got it very quickly, probably about 10 minutes after we ordered. And there were tables for seating nearby and it was pretty nice for a fast lunch. If you find yourself in the mall and you're hungry, you HAVE to check this place out!
google avatar

Urooj F.

Yelp
Extra points for being halal. I love the concept - Fast fresh pasta! The pasta did in fact taste fresh, was cooked to al dente, and the quality of meat was good too! I tried the "hulk" which had pesto and chicken and a bolognese, both were good! Would recommend and def plan on coming back.
google avatar

Phoebe D.

Yelp
Great quality pasta for a fast casual spot! I got one of the preset choices, The Rustica. The casarecce pasta was the perfect texture for me and definitely tasted fresh - honestly better than pastas I've had at fancier places. The arrabiata sauce was a bit too tomato-forward for me with a slight acidic bite - however, I appreciated the freshness and think that people who enjoy tomatoes more would really like it. Looking at pictures online I thought the portion would be quite small but it's actually just the right amount, and the packaging is fun and makes it super easy to eat. Would love to come back and try all the different pasta shapes and sauces!

Yelp
They are rather new pasta place in Galleria Tysons mall. 1. You just line up and order and pay just like fast food places. 2. No plates! Everything is given in a chinese to-go food like box. Never have I ever seen a pasta in this kinda box and it is very disappointing, especially for the price. 3. Service: apart from the person taking your order, you line up, you go and pick up your food, so you ARE your own server. But they ask for tip is truly outrageous. It bothers me. You gotta provide service to ask to be paid extra for it! Please don't say we cooked your food so tip us! 4. Ambience is kinda nice since it gets the corner spot, so lots of natural light and nice decor of Galleria. 5. No trash can or clear place to put your waste when done. Environmentally unfriendly considering even if you eat in, you get all that plastic just like you ordered to-go. And yes, I inquired to make sure this is the case always. Food didn't taste anything special and considering above mentioned reasons, I can't recommend this place.
google avatar

Sharon L.

Yelp
Stopped by a few weeks ago after seeing this new addition to the Tysons II food court and I was super excited to see a fast casual spot with fresh pasta. I'm a sucker for fresh made, al dente pastas and have eaten at concepts like this in other states and other countries so it's great to have something in the NOVA that presents pasta in a cup! I ordered the shrimp scampi and while I liked it, I really would've preferred a lighter sauce. This was more of an Alfredo/cheesy sauce and it was a bit heavy for my taste. Neverthless, the shrimp and the pasta were perfectly cooked. I would just like to see a butter/white wine sauce with my pasta instead. One issue was that I was told it would be 20 minutes for my pasta to be ready. I walked a few loops around, returned to the counter 15 minutes after ordering, and it turns out someone else had taken my order. I wish that the staff would check the receipt numbers before handing out the pastas to avoid this issue. Either way, I will likely return, but will try a lighter sauce like a red sauce next time.

Yelp
I was lucky enough to have my ear to the ground and hear about the soft opening of this place in Tysons Galleria II. I honestly do not find myself in Virginia these days, so I was lucky that this was literally in the same location that I had last visited, so I was at least someone familiar. It would have been better if I knew exactly where it was in the mall, but I managed to find it within 10 minutes. I didn't even know there was an Andy's Pizza in the mall, and it's right next to it. How lucky! When you first enter Scolapasta, there's a lounge area and the sign is right there telling you you're in the right place. Now, I couldn't tell you whether that Lounge was already there or if the owners added it, but it's nice. The restaurant itself is pretty open and has a fast casual vibe. There's a long counter -- on one end, the pastas are on display and you order, and you pick up on the other end. You have the option of either ordering from chef's picks or building your own -- pick a pasta, sauce, and protein(s). Not sure if that was just for the soft opening, but some of the choices are exclusive to chef's picks, like shrimp and squid ink spaghetti. Ordering was easy, and the wait time... Whew, it took a while haha. I wasn't in a rush, and I know soft openings are for working out the kinks. But when I tell you... That pasta came out in a nice to-go package and was piping hot... WOW. I got radiatori with spicy tomato sauce and chicken. The very first bite seemed saltier than I normally like, but after that it balanced out. I loved the kick of the sauce, and the chicken was seasoned and textured well. Don't be fooled by the size of the package. It's a lot more than what it looks like, and it's delicious and filling. Tyson's is a hike, but the concept is awesome, a nice vibe, and there are countless combinations to explore. Bits of feedback: -Get a megaphone or a display for orders, so people don't have to crowd around the counter to hear numbers and know the wait time. -It was really cold right near the door -- not sure if you're in control of that, but as winter really settles in you might have to crank up that heat.
google avatar

Mara D.

Yelp
We decided to try their pasta - it's made daily. They are located at Tyson's II. It's pricey for the amount you get, but it was good (seasoned well). Plenty of seating, close to outdoor escalators and parking lot.
google avatar

Tiffany N.

Yelp
After seeing this constantly on social media, I stopped by here with my friend visiting from out of town! It was super crowded at Tyson's Galleria, but the wait wasn't too bad for this spot. Scolapasta has fresh pasta with a variety of options for sauces and customizations well. My friend and I picked the Radiatori with White Truffle sauce (no toppings), which was super delicious! Plenty of good mushrooms in there for umami as well. It's at a "food court", so there's plenty of seating, but it's really loud all around, if you're here on a weekend. It comes in a to go container, which is super nice to hold and utilize, and you can even walk around the mall and munch on it if needed! The sauce was super tasty mixed with the radiatori pasta shape, which was cooked al dente and had a magnificent texture. My friend commented on the speediness of preparations as well, since everything is made fresh right in front of you! It is also a great portion for two people to share (if you're carb-conscious). If you want a yummy spot to eat that's convenient and great value at the Tysons Galleria, stop by here for a quick bite!
google avatar

Ryan B.

Yelp
Tasty and fresh! Plz explain to me why in god's name it's in Chinese containers though ?! So inconvenient to eat and get around as you have the flops hit your face every time, even when pressed down! Food quality is great, however, due to everything else and the idiocy of placing pasta in Chinese to-go boxes you'd get a zero! Regardless, if how great the food can be/is but being incapable of getting to it is such a pain in the ass that trumps everything great!

C. R.

Yelp
Unfriendly atmosphere. It felt like I was a burden for asking questions about a new place I've never tried even though I was the only one in line. Food was quick but came in an awkward container they didn't even bother closing for me even though I mentioned to-go. My pasta was still piping hot by the time I got home but it was very bland. Literally no salt at all. Thankfully I was at home and could add seasonings myself to make it taste better. With the cold atmosphere, bland food, and expensive price I wouldn't return. It's nothing special. I would choose Olive Garden over this. All of these other 5 star reviews can't be real.
google avatar

Tenikia T.

Yelp
Was doing some shopping in the mall and wanted to grab a quick bite. This is a fast casual food court spot, where you order from a counter then can grab a seat at a nearby table. Service was prompt and food came out very hot. This place did not disappoint. Their fresh pasta was sooooooo tasty. We had rigatoni with bolognese and the shrimp scampi with squid ink pasta. Both were delicious! I also love their packaging as it is very easy to eat on the go if you don't have time to sit. I will definitely revisit this spot when looking to grab a quick, tasty bite at Tyson's galleria.
google avatar

Sammi C.

Yelp
I guess I'm not a fan of "al dente" i like my pasta to be a little softer than that. This place is typically super packed, so i was super glad i came on a day where i was in and out in less than 10 minutes. They have a set menu with no add ons or substitutions or you can create your own. I am usually a big fan of pesto so i ordered "The hulk" pasta cheese chicken pesto. The pasta needed tomatoes or some veggie to tone it down. Between the sauce and cheese i was going to have high cholesterol. It was sooo salty i spat out my first bite. Such a shame, not a super big pasta...total, tip came out to almost $20. I was not a fan for the first try... i may or may not come back.
google avatar

Young Hwa K.

Yelp
My friends and I shared the arrabiata with chicken and burrata as the toppings. The pasta itself was fresh and chewy which we liked. However we felt the sauce was a bit bland and the chicken was gamey. I'm not sure if it was because it was busy and they were in a hurry during Black Friday weekend, but it's worth a try.
google avatar

Steve N.

Yelp
Scolapasta just opened at the Tysons Galleria near Andy's Pizza. You select your type of pasta and sauce. A protein can also be added. The pasta is made fresh on site. Your order comes in a small container similar to Chinese carryout. I ordered Cacio E Pepe with chicken. The pasta tasted fresh with plenty of flavor from the cheese and black pepper. The portions are small but filling. I believe this will be a busy place. They opened at the right time just before the holiday shopping season. I will be back!

Yelp
**Scalopasta - A New Addition to Tysons Galleria** Scalopasta is a fresh new restaurant to Tysons Galleria, behind Andy's Pizza and Shotted Coffee. The space has an elevated vibe with a "fancy" feel, with its large windows offering plenty of natural light. It's located right next to one of the mall's main entrances, with a large staircase. While the ambiance was lovely, I found the pasta a bit underwhelming. The dish could have used a touch more seasoning, to bring out the full flavor. Overall, it's a nice spot with potential, but the pasta didn't quite hit the mark for me.
google avatar

Amber K.

Yelp
I came here based off of an IG reel (I know), that said they had vegan options. When I got there, I asked if the pasta was vegan and was told no, so I couldn't eat. Pasta is usually pretty easy to make vegan.
google avatar

Sarah S.

Yelp
Visited Scolapasta in between meetings (I work across the street) around 11:30am. I waited for a few minutes but the staff seemed more preoccupied chatting amongst themselves than taking orders. The menu seems interesting but the service was unreliable.
google avatar

Tiffany T.

Yelp
located in the back of the food court area of tysons galleria. I have recently been loving the taste of homemade pasta so when i heard this place opened up i really wanted to try it out. The workers were friendly and i ordered the rustic and added on meatballs. since its fresh it does take a while for your order to be ready but i don't mind the wait. I think the pasta quality was above average for sure but nothing too amazing. The sauce had some kick and tomato flavor but felt too bland, like it needed some more salt and maybe more ingredients or something to make the flavor more balanced. Although it wasn't bad, the pasta got boring very quickly due to the generally just tomato flavored sauce. My partner got some chicken so i got to try both and we both preferred the meatball over the chicken. chicken was dry but meat ball was decent. The mozzarella cheese didn't do much to enhance the flavor and was quite rubbery in texture. 2.5/5

Yelp
We almost missed this place since it's tucked away at the very end! The concept is fantastic, especially for a big pasta lover like me. I absolutely loved being able to order cacio e pepe with a different type of pasta noodle. My only complaint is that it's served in a small boxed container (think Chinese takeout)

Yelp
Beautiful food and service. Jared was very helpful and kind, the pasta is amazing. You can even build your own pasta! Very nice and kind people there, and the furniture is extremely clean and comfortable.

Yelp
I liked the concept idea initially, as a fresher side of Vapiano's, but no where did it deliver. Fresh Pastas to be cooked El Dente, however, its containers doesn't do it ANY justice whatsoever. Having any and all types of pastas stacked in such a small space, would make it irrelevant how it was initially cooked, therefore. I am not a fan of its containers, which is unfortunate, due to having quality and every process being thought out of, EXCEPT where to place orders, and the WORST PLACEMENT IT CAN BE IS ANY PLACE TO WHERE NO BREATHING ROOM GETS IN OR OUT. Why would any Italian dishes be contained in "Chinese Boxes" ?!

Yelp
Went to Scolapasta for lunch today. My husband had read about it and the fact that they made all of their pasta noodles on site. It is not a restaurant per se, but more like a high end food court on the top level of Tysons Galleria. On the menu there were seven different types of noodles to choose from and then you picked your sauce from a half dozen choices, and you could add a protein topper. I ordered the rigatoni with pomadoro sauce and meatballs. Rigatoni was my 3rd choice in noodles but the first 2 were unavailable. The pomadoro sauce was ok but just ok and the meatballs were way too dense. No sauce slip into the meatballs to add flavor. The big disappointment was the "freshly made pasta" which was tough, rubbery and tasteless. My husband had a different noodle and was similarly disappointed. He ordered the white truffle sauce with chicken and said it was just ok. They need to invite an Italian into the kitchen. It was novel eating Pasta out of a Chinese take out carton. We got the cannoli for dessert and thought we had gotten one with chocolate bits but they must have dipped just the ends in the chocolate bits because the Ricotta cheese inside was dry and not creamy with no chocolate bits. our bill came to $55.19 for 2 meals one cannoli and one bottle of water. I thought it was a bit high. It is a cool idea overall and the atmosphere was nice for shopping mall eating, but I won't go back for the food.

Yelp
We tried the shrimp scampi and rigatoni with white truffle and chicken *chef's kiss*. Both were amazing. Scolapasta is a great addition to Tysons Galleria food court!!

Yelp
Tried the classic marinara with meatball, squid ink with shrimp and truffle white sauce with chicken. Really enjoyed each one and can't wait to go back to try everything on the menu. Takes some time to come out but well worth the wait. It comes out piping hot and the sauces, pastas and toppings are quite simple which highlight the quality of the ingredients. Sometimes the pasta itself is a tad too Al dente for my taste but it won't deter me from returning bc it's so darn delicious! Located next to Andy's Pizza with plenty of food court style seating. If you want to skip the long walk from the regular mall entrance, there's an outside escalator that takes you straight from the parking lot to Scolapasta. Also a great meal option before catching a movie at CMX on the upper level.

Yelp
I loved this place! We arrived right before the rush, but I wasn't surprised by how long the line got later in the evening. It's great to be able to see the pasta being made right in front of you, and you can certainly tell it's fresh by the taste. We were a large party and everyone loved their meals from the shrimp scampi to the pesto. It's especially smart that they serve it in a container as it's easy to eat while walking around the mall or if you want to take some home (which I did intend to do, but I couldn't stop myself from eating the whole thing!). It feels hard to get your money's worth with prices rising at most restaurants, so I was pleased that this was a great bang for your buck and that the portion sizes were quite generous. I would 100% recommend and can't wait to return!

Yelp
If you have eaten Italian food then this place is not for you. The puttanesca was mushed pasta with a bit of sauce poured over few olives & cherry tomatoes. The concept of this place is nice though. The ambiance is elegant foodcourt. The service is expected off the over-the-counter clerk & they expected to be tipped!

Yelp
So I'd give this place a 4 star review, but ironically the Chinese-Italian in me can't get past the perfectly prepared pasta and sauce, only to have the end result served in a Chinese carryout box, CLOSED! Honestly, serving the pasta in this way, stacked up vertically instead of on a more flat surfaced bottom (and even in some cases with a closed top) really affects the integrity of the pasta, and also leaves the pasta steaming in the box while you're transporting or while eating - and the Al dente affect of fresh pasta is being steamed and cooked past Al dente. Very very sad. Even cheap carry out pasta places in Italy would never serve it this way, they serve it in a paper bowl. So I really wish Scolapasta wouldn't ruin their perfectly prepared pasta right in the last step right before serving, it really is a travesty! It really affects their end product. I wish someone in management could hear this.

Yelp
Very happy to have stumbled upon this place as it didn't seem to be a large grand opening. I had the Hulk- pesto with chicken pasta. It was pretty good. The only gripe I have was the huge wait time for such a small portion of pasta, but considering this is a very new place, I'm sure they will iron this out in the coming months. [Also it was Black Friday, lots of people in general!] The ambiance is great- it's nestled behind the Shotted in Tyson's 2, so nice seating and good study space.

Yelp
First time here, and as I'm ordering, cashier being someone names "Ish", he was speedy Gonzalez in regards to every single aspect , I was intact taking time to read through their menu ONLY to be rushed by him, which isn't Kosher
