Scoop N' Buns: Ice cream, Desserts, Churros

It is a very cute place. My daughter liked her ice cream and the churros were good. The only thing that we didn't like was the cantaloupe Agua fresca, in fact it was gross. They serve it in a bag and I didn't open it since we were headed home. Once we got home, I noticed the thick consistency and obviously I couldn't send the drink back. It was thick and gooey. 🤢

This place from inside is very unique i would say, really cute. Great spot for the ice cream and desserts 🍨 I didn’t like Their elote, its was really salty and cold. But mywife and kid enjoyed their dessert. Service was okay.

Truly a hidden gem!! Very beautiful and cozy place with really yummy ice cream and other delicious desserts. Vibrant atmosphere and the decorative space, truly makes you wanna go back, over and over.

Scoop N’ Buns is such a cute spot for ice cream and treats! The ice cream and donut combos are absolutely delicious. We loved it so much, we ended up ordering more while we were still there. We got some great pictures of the place, but we were so excited to dig in that we only snapped a couple of pictures of the treats! The prices are reasonable, the shop is adorable, and the staff is super friendly. We can’t wait to go back!

I’ve heard so much about this place from friends and TikTok! I decided to stop by after dinner with some friends and honestly love the concept. As a Filipino American it’s hard to find places with Ube ice cream and Halo Halo. I absolutely enjoyed the ice cream flight where I was able to get 3 different flavored ice creams. So happy this place exists for they also let you try samples of the ice cream prior to making your decision. The customer service was amazing.

I loved the atmosphere and the halo halo, it tastes amazing! So amazing that my entire family exclusively comes here for halo halo. I personally love the ube ice cream. The only downside was the wait times and the tipping culture. Other than that it’s a great place!

First time trying Halo-halo! Really cute place and friendly staff. Prices are fair - $10 for the dessert, not cheap, but it’s huge. Make sure to come hungry because if you don’t finish it - that’s it… since it’s mostly ice it will just melt and freezer wouldn’t do it any justice (learn from my experience).

What a cute little place. We took our family there and it was super clean and the ice cream was delicious. I had the horchata cinnamon ice cream and my kids had the donut ice cream sandwich. They have places to take pictures and even have a TV with a Super Nintendo you can play. When we were there they had Mario Kart. We spent about $25 dollars there for four people. This is definitely a place that we will go back to.

This super cute ice cream shop is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. Very Instagram-able if you are into that sort of thing. They recently went above and beyond for a to-go order for my husband who was ill. I got their ice cream and donut combo and they had everything separate and told me how to put it together and warm it so it would be as close as possible to their in-store offering of the item. Bravo! Now I always have to stop on my way home from my favorite tortilleria nearby. The strawberry tres leches was so yummy on a hot day. Such a perfect dessert for enjoying by my pool. I added a mound of fresh strawberries to give it freshness. Mom and DH recently gave rave reviews on the pudding cups I picked up from the to-go case. I got the horchata pudding cup, and and the banana pudding cup. The banana pudding cup was made with chessman cookies and Mom specifically mentioned how much she enjoyed it. Sometimes they do collaborations or fun events. There was a food truck there during their Ube Event. These fun happenings are not to be missed. So check out their Instagram scoopnbuns. Service with a smile, in an adorable shop with a garden out front?! I am here for it all day.

Overall - Won't be disappointed but may not be impressed What I got - Ube Horchata scoop n buns which is like an ice cream sandwich made from a donut Taste - It tasted good, and the different textures were nice with the additional cinnamon toast crunch add in. The ice cream had a unique flavor but I wanted it to be richer. The donut worked surprisingly well and didn't get soggy. Overall it wasn't too sweet and it was easy to eat and not messy. It left me wanting more. All of the parts individually were ok, but could have been better. As a whole it was much better than it's individual parts because of how it was executed. Value - $7 for the sandwich which is decent value for as good as it was. Service - Friendly service and didn't have to wait Atmosphere - very fun and chill vibes. Facility - Could fit maybe 15 people in the front room and another 35 in the back room which is kind of like a coffee shop quiet atmosphere. People were hanging out and working and socializing. There was also a super Nintendo for those who wanted a couple quick games of super Mario cart or other classics. Would I come back - yes Would I go out of my way - no Additional info - come to hang out in the back room if you are looking for a place to chill, this has great hang out energy with lots of other sweet treats to try.

This place is absolutely amazing. I love how there are two parts each representing a different culture. The halo-halo was great and workers are nice. It was the end of the night and they gave us donuts for free that they were going to toss which was nice. If I lived here, I would be here a lot!

If you were to take me (Filipino) and my bf (Mexican) and turn us into a sweet shop, you'd get Scoop N' Buns. And that's exactly what the owners did! This place was recommended to me while I was doing interviews at the 2023 Palengke in Dallas. We were visiting from Seattle, but had to show up for the culture. I got the sampler that came with three mini scoops. I chose the sweet corn, ube (duh), and mango. My mom got a halohalo and my mans got the churros with Sakura crunch ice cream. Everything popped off. If you think I'm a sweet tooth, you should meet my mom. Her standards are up there but she said that this was one of her favorite stops during our whole trip. When you pull up, you know it's about to be a banger because the spot is a complete hole in the wall vibe. Once you enter, it's like stepping into a Filipino party but for a Mexican baby (in the best way). Every color imaginable will be visible and I love it. They nailed it with the ambiance. Do yourself a favor and go for some ice cream. Located in Garland. Parking available. Indoor seating available.

I'm so so happy to have found a halo halo place here in the DFW. It's also a great idea due to the heat! Halo2 is delicious! I do wish they have the option to add more of the contents. I would love to have more of the jelly. Also recommend adding a special version where there's buko macapuno and flan topping!!! Their customer service is super. Definitely give this place a try! Ah! Also they have so many cute areas to take photos. Definitely a very instagrammable cute spot.

What a cute little dessert gem in Garland! The shop is actually a lot bigger on the inside than I thought and the decorations are all so cute. The staff were all nice and helpful! We ordered churros with ice cream and the donut ice cream sandwich. Both were good. The churros were made fresh on the spot. The have a Filipino dessert - halo halo - but we didn't try it because we thought it was a bit expensive $9.50 pre-tax. If we are back in the area, I will definitely be back to try other ice cream flavors and getting the churros for sure.

Such a cute, happy, fun and inviting storefront. Although not pictured, the exterior is beautifully painted, with a fun bench outside and bright color palette to grab the consumer's attention. When I entered, I immediately saw the interactive photo opportunity to me left, the counter straight ahead, and more photo opportunities along the shop. They offered some traditional yummy desserts and sweets a Filipino could appreciate such as puto, ube tres leche cake, traditional tres leche cake and of course Halo Halo! Now for their ice cream flavors! The owners are definitely trying to make sure their customers get have quite a selection, offering flavors you might not find elsewhere. I tried their cornbread flavor, which was rich, creamy and not overwhelming in sweetness. My kids got the blue Cookie Monster and the cookie butter (light color, chunks of butter cookie inside, butter and brown sugar notes). There were many other interesting flavors, but I was there to try their Halo Halo. Their Halo Halo was good, not overwhelming at all. I wish I had more coconut and mix at the bottom, but over all, 8/10 when I think of Halo Halo. I recommend the business and I would return when in the area. There

Came to ScoopNBun for the first time. The owners are very nice. I tried few of the amazing flavors. I got scoops of ice cream in between the glazed donut. It was perfect for this hot weather today. I will be back for more .

The ice cream is pretty darn good. I got the churro-bites with ube ice cream and my fiancé got the ube scoop n'buns. The churros are delicious and the buns/donuts were NOT stale! The staff was nice and patient with us since it was our first time and we appreciate that! The place was very colorful in bright colors, it's definitely a vibe. I also love that they open late! We will definitely be back for some more!

So lucky to have such a unique dessert shop in my neighborhood! Aside from all their creative desserts they are always coming up with new and fun dessert items that I always fall in love with. My favorite drink that I have to order every time is their pandan refreshers. It's a deliciously sweet, milky and light coconut tasting drink! I also love their ube ice cream, ube tres leches and now I'm looking forward to trying their ube banana pudding next. Check them out if you're ever in the area and I'm sure you'll find something you'll like on their huge menu!

My boyfriend and I were craving ice cream and came upon this amazing place! I got strawberry ice cream topped with fruity pebbles in between a glazed donut and he got the horchata ice cream and churros. We will most definitely be back. The service and atmosphere was 10/10!

We've been waiting to go to this place for months now and finally got the chance on a Sunday after church. Located near the transit center and not too far from downtown Garland , Scoop N' Buns was a pleasant experience on a hot Sunday afternoon. We got here as soon as they opened and the appearance on the outside could never depict what the encounter will be like In the inside . Decor and artwork alone are vibes here . Very trendy and it's a must you snap a pic of some of the amazing features here. I loved the fact that they had Nintendo, childhood fav for sure! I knew almost exactly what I wanted before hand and that was the ice cream on a glazed bun. I opted for the Ube ice cream and beforehand I got to sample it which was great. I thought then buns were going to be warm but maybe that was a misinterpretation as they were room temperature. That's neither here nor there as the sandwich was delicious. Such a cool place and as a garland native, I love this addition to the city. Great job!

This is a cute trendy local ice cream shop with a Mexican twist from the tres leches cakes, fresh Churros Mexican flavored ice creams mangonadas donut ice cream sandwich and the warm friendly smile and amazing service provided by Destiny! My twin girls & nieces enjoyed their treats and ambience as it was amazing! A must see spot

I really wanted to like this place. I wish I could tell you how the place looks inside but from what my partner mentioned to me, he said it was a pretty cool place. He said he played Super Mario bros while he waited for our order. Let's talk about what I got. I decided to go for the churro bites and got Pandan and Matcha. The Pandan was good but the matcha was not the best, it had a weird taste to it which was definitely NOT matcha flavor. I had to toss it out :/ Unfortunately the flavors I wanted was NOT on the menu despite it being listed on their WEBSITE!!! Someone needs to update that to reflect what is in store. The Churros were also not my favorite, it tasted really doughy! My boyfriend got the Biscoff flavor and that was the best flavor. Wish I had got that instead! We also got their Flan and Banana pudding which were tasty! Hoping to come give this place another try next time we come visit Dallas.

The ice cream is definitely one of a kind. From the ice creams, pastries, coffees, super friendly service to the welcoming and relaxing ambience, this establishment is more than worth a try!

My family and I ordered an ube tres leche cake from here and it was deeeelish! It was for a Christmas party and even though our order was after their time frame for ordering, they were still able to accommodate us. Thank y'all so much for doing that! The ube dessert was a hit! We can't wait to go back to try the other things they offer! Definitely two thumbs up for me! :)

I love that this place decided to open up in Garland. The place is decorated with bright colors which coincides with their selections of ice cream. They have my favorite dessert halo-halo and ube flavor food. The staff are always friendly. Our friends were introduced to the place and now they always come back too enjoy the food and dessert. Worth checking out!!!

I absolutely loved it, but I will say it's not for you picky eaters. It has interesting ingredients like corn and beans but I enjoyed it.

Had several friends recommend this place and soo glad they did! Ube flavor was awesome and I had it with donut holes and some crushed pecans such a perfect duo! They do provide samples which was a plus we got to try a good portion out! The decorations are super cute we will definitely be returning to try more stuff out

The donut is a little denser than normal to hold the rich tasty ice cream but don't let that discourage you. They are fantastic!!!

An ice cream shop with Mexican and Filipino inspired flavors in Garland! Food - Vanilla bean ice cream with bun - Horchata ice cream with bun (toppings: sprinkles and Oreo crumbs) - Banana pudding with walnut toppings Overall we loved the ice cream! - The bun was more on the dryer side and did not have a glazed taste to it (not what we expected but still was okay with the ice cream). There's a variety of ice cream flavors and you should try it out!! Atmosphere - very family friendly with all the decor and games!

Best churros in the DFW! The ice cream is great and they have a nice variety of house made flavors. An extensive menu as well! Customer service is great, the people are so nice. The older non-five star reviews I saw mentioned some weak points that this family owned established definitely improved on (such as limited non-dairy items). Great place, 10/10!

Got the biscoff, red velvet, matcha, and pandan flavored ice cream, churro bites, and a banana pudding. We originally wanted to get some other flavors that we saw on their website but they were not available because the flavors weee limited release. The biscoff was my favorite flavor and the pandas was good as well. The red velvet was okay. The matcha green tea tasted okay but then it had a weird aftertaste that was unpleasant. The churro bites had a crispy exterior and had a doughy center. Banana pudding tasted great but it's super sweet, which I liked. Unfortunately it looked like they ran out of Ube ice cream and donut bites when I visited. The shop has a cool vibe and they have Super Mario available to play. Overall this is a fun place to get some ice cream and they are also open late.

Atmosphere is so cute! If you're someone you likes trendy environments, this is a great place for you. They also have a retro video game console that customers can play. They only had one non dairy option so I tried the mango sorbet but it was definitely on the sweeter side! Hope they rotate flavors often to try again!

My husband and I love this location! It's our go to dessert place and we love seeing them at the Urban Market and other community events. They offer standard and more unique ice cream flavors and desserts. Order an ice cream donut sandwich, donut holes with ice cream, churro bites with ice cream, Halo Halo, or a fruit refresher at the counter. There is seating inside or outside and the ambience is amazing! Please support this local business that features Filipino and Latino flavors in all that they offer!

I won a gift card to here on an Instagram giveaway, which was super exciting cause I have been dying to come to scoop n buns. My mom and I decided to get the original treat of the shop, the ice cream sandwich made with warm glazed donuts. I decided to try the horchata ice cream in one of mine which was insanely good, and the ube flavor with fruity pebbles for the other, which was also super yummy. My mom love her chocolate with Oreo one as well. Super cute shop, lots of seating, nice workers, and delicious ice cream and treats, definitely a super unique and cool spot in Garland!

Good little addition to Garland food scene. The ice cream is pretty good. They have about a dozen flavors. Strong Hispanic influence on ice cream flavors. Ice cream on a donut bun is a fun and tasty experience worth having. So be brave and try it. If they ask if you want your buns warm say yes. Prices are good and they offer a good selection of sizes.

2 thumbs WAY WAY up!!! Very original concept. The decorations are so eclectic & fun. The desserts are delicious! We had a fun date there, but there were also lots of families.

Just tried the new shop off the downtown square. The same great ambience and service as the original. Tried the mango float and it was heavenly! Definitely more boba-centric but still a good selection of their delish ice cream and toppings and of course a mini Tres leches cake to go! Can't wait to go back.

This place is cute and has unique flavors of ice creams, such as sweet corn and pandan. Sweet corn was pretty interesting, it had actual corns and the flavor was not strong, which was good to try. I ended up getting Halloween version of Ube ice cream in a donut. Halloween version is just the Ube ice cream with EXTRA EXTRA food coloring. My tongue and teeth turned black after this I will come back to try different flavors :)

Service was fast for the churros and the ice cream was great, they have a nice cafe area as well.
