"Scoops is the adorable ice cream parlor every small town deserves. Stop in for generous dishes and cones in flavors like strawberry cheesecake and maple walnut. Italian ice is also available." - Naomi Waxman

Ah, Lake Geneva wouldn't be the same without a stop at this beloved ice cream shop! Here's a review capturing your tradition: A Lake Geneva Gem: This Ice Cream Shop is a Must-Visit! For us, a trip to Lake Geneva is simply incomplete without indulging in the delightful offerings of this particular ice cream shop. It's truly a gem of the city, and the consistently huge lines snaking out the door, especially on warm days, speak volumes about its popularity. People willingly wait, eager to sample their impressive variety of ice cream tastes. During our latest visit, we opted for the cherry and pistachio flavors, and the portion we received was generous enough to share between the two of us. As always, the taste was simply amazing. Each scoop was a burst of flavor, a testament to the quality of their ice cream. It's a treat we genuinely enjoy every single time. Despite the constant flow of customers, the service remains nice and surprisingly fast. The staff efficiently handles the crowds while maintaining a friendly demeanor. One minor observation is that the tables outside the shop appear rather worn and old. However, it's clear that this cosmetic detail does not deter the throngs of people eager to sit and savor their frozen delights. The quality of the ice cream and the overall experience clearly outweigh the need for fancy outdoor furniture. In conclusion, this ice cream shop is an integral part of the Lake Geneva experience.

Google
This was our first time to lake Geneva & we went everyday we were there. I’m dairy free, so I’d get the passionfruit Italian ice and my fiancé who’s not would get the Mackinac Island. It’s so tasty & I cannot wait until we come back to get more.

Google
Great dessert place and very family friendly! Price was perhaps a little steep but portions were huge. Large variety of flavors and everything we got was very good, including Fat Elvis, cotton candy, and blue moon. There were a handful of tables which were nice to sit at. So good we even came back the next night!

Google
Good ice cream, but not many options. Their vanilla classic is really good, but sour options are not great. Ordering is a little pain with the glass window between us and the cashier

Google
They are in a perfect location right by the water, Lake Geneva, and so many people come here every minute it is always crowded. Lots of beautiful stores in the area to enjoy the ice cream with. There are about 4 tables inside, but most people eat it outside because there’s so much to see outside of the store. It is air-conditioned in the summertime. They have 40 flavors and they are very unique flavors, including one w Cherries from Wisconsin. They had a sign that explains each of the flavors that are interesting. it’s very creamy and they have different cones and sizes. One scoop is gigantic. And it will cost you $5.50.

Google
The ice cream is good but service was not top tier when we went. My friend and I ordered coffee-based ice cream, hers was with nuts, mine not, since I am allergic to nuts. When they gave us the cones, they switched the flavors and gave us the wrong ones. The cashier told me the ice cream was Espresso Oreo, the one I ordered, but it turned out instead to be my friend's order which had nuts. Needless to say, biting into nuts when they assured me the ice cream had no nuts was not a good experience. I understand it was busy, but that's no excuse to lose track of which cone has which flavor. Luckily they *also* messed up someone else's order in our party and I was able to enjoy a chocolate cone they were given by mistake.

If you’re in Lake Geneva, do yourself a favor and stop here for a treat! I got their raspberry rhapsody and honestly it’s one of the best ice-cream flavor I’ve ever tried. I can’t wait to return to Lake Geneva just for this! We also tried Zanzibar chocolate and butter pecan. They were great too but the Zanzibar chocolate one melted way quicker than the other flavors. It was kinda messy to eat that one but the taste made up for it. Highly recommend this spot.

Google
This is delicious ice cream. It tastes much more homemade and fresh than other chain stores. The staff is friendly and the scoops are huge. Prices are reasonable too.

Yelp
Loved this spot! Only negative: they don't let you try flavors. I didn't like my flavor as much as my husbands and felt like I could have ordered better if I could sample! Also the line was pretty long I got a kids size of the exhausted parent (bourbon spiked espresso with chocolate chips). I thought it was good but a little heavy on the bourbon. Also it was so big. My husband got a waffle cone of the yippee skippee and omg it was so good. I can't wait to come back and try some of the other flavors that caught my eye when we are back in lake geneva

Mitch J.

Yelp
They brought back dairy-free ice cream and this time it's oat milk ice cream and incredible! There were even a few choices this time: Oreo, cherry, and blue moon. Thank you for bringing this back!!

Linda B.

Yelp
Iced coffee 10, coffee ice cream 10, lemon smoothie, 10} this place has it all right and the popularity shows! Great location, service and variety of cool treats.

Rich A.

Yelp
We stopped by after walking off our lunch. The ice cream was really delicious and the staff was super efficient for the amount of people in line. I had a two-scoop cup with a scoop of "This Sh!+ is About to Get Serious" and a scoop of "Heaps of Love." Both flavors were packed with great ingredients. I ended up mixing them together for some awesome caramel, vanilla, chocolate, Oreo, cookie dough, and cashew deliciousness! They have a ton of unique flavors and of course some old school boring ones too. They also have stuff like chocolate waffle cones. I considered getting one of those but figured I was ingesting enough calories. I definitely recommend stopping by and checking them out!

Randy C.

Yelp
Cute little shop to stop in and have a cool treat after enjoying time on the lake. Gets pretty busy so love that they have menus posted outside the shop as well as this elevates having to be cramped inside. There are a few tables for seating inside and some available outside as well to enjoy your treats. Staff was super friendly and suggested various things as well. Very accommodating and patient with my little one who could t decide what he wanted. Finding parking may be a little difficult but super concise t to most things in the area so not bad if you do have to walk within the area.

Alanna S.

Yelp
First place I stop at when visiting Lake Geneva, the ice cream is so creamy, sweet and have a a decent variety of flavors. Great prices and services are always on point, super friendly, a must go to shop while walking near the Riviera.

Caitlin R.

Yelp
Awesome ice cream, tons of flavor options. You can sit down and see the lake from the shop.

Bailey P.

Yelp
After accomplishing the 23 mile hike around Lake Geneva, ice cream was much needed. The location is perfect because it is right next to the trail in the center of downtown. They have so many flavors to choose from! The lady working said vanilla and mint chip are their most popular but I decided to be different and tried the peanut butter cookie dough which was absolutely amazing. The cookie dough chunks hit the spot and the peanut butter swirl added a nice touch. I got a single scoop in a cup which was plenty!

Jeremy K.

Yelp
Best ice cream in town. So many flavors to choose from. Try the "Party Animal " . Great location and customer service. And your right by the lake. They have outdoor seating. Also, try their coffee as well.

Courtney M.

Yelp
My family and I have been frequenting Scoops for years but last night was our final visit. With 50+ customers in line and more than half of them young children, a man who was eating at one of the outdoor tables began screaming, using profanity, and threatening physical violence towards another individual (who was also with young children) for touching his motorcycle. It was an overreaction that was both shocking and inappropriate and was most likely fueled by mental instability and/or drug use. When a few people tried to intervene and de-escalate the situation, the man reacted with more yelling, threats, and profanity, even aimed at a woman pushing a stroller. While I know businesses cannot control customer behavior, the man was initially noticed by all the customers waiting in line by the fact that when he had arrived he was able to bypass the line and immediately receive service by an employee who most likely has a personal relationship with him. I did not see a transaction of money between the employee and this man either. While I support small business and have been a patron of Scoops when my family stays in Lake Geneva, this man, who clearly has a connection to this establishment, caused a lot of people to feel unsafe, especially towards the individual who his anger was directed towards. I honestly thought he was going to pull out a gun or become physical in that moment. With plenty of ice cream options in downtown Lake Geneva, my family and I will no longer be visiting Scoops. The friends of this business are scary people.

Raine B.

Yelp
Everytime my friend and her family goes to Lake Geneva, it's not complete without a visit to Scoops. It's their favorite ice cream shop to stop at, and after trying it--I believe the hype. My ice cream was creamy and smooth! It was just the right amount of sweetness and chocolate goodness. It wasn't too heavy at all. It was the perfect way to end a lake day!

Star C.

Yelp
I ordered the Hawaiian shaved ice. I have been to Hawaii. This was a snow cone. When it was handed to me, I said... it was a snow cone. The flavor was fabulous. I didn't enjoy it. I should have exchanged it for ice cream. If I go back, I will try the ice cream. But they are advertising a snow cone as a Hawaiian shaved ice. If you know the difference...you will be disappointed.

Dominic B.

Yelp
Owner was extremely rude. He told my 84 year old grandma to not sit at the table because she didn't have ice cream. Super rude, no consideration for anything except money. Ice cream was watery and tastes terrible

Dennis K.

Yelp
Best ice cream in southern Wisconsin. I love the limited Butterscotch otherwise it's Praline Pecan. Owner is friendly and the staff is very helpful. I visit Scoops as often as I can. 5 Stars in my book.

Ben S.

Yelp
The ice cream was really good and the service was quick. I would definitely recommend this. Seating is limited.

Mary M.

Yelp
I would give ZERO stars if it were an option. The "owner" was absolutely SO rude and yells at you if you are sitting at the table & chairs. Take your money elsewhere.

J Y.

Yelp
I have to call a spade a spade. Scoops is the best ice cream I have ever put in my mouth, and I'm an ice cream connoisseur. Solid 9.4 out of 10, best score I've ever given. The complexity of the texture of the ice cream is why I gave it such a high score. It has an incredible chew and didn't have ice chunks which is really hard to do. Congratulations

Betsy T.

Yelp
Zero pictures to prove it but oh.em.gee. A single scoop is enough for two people! Delicious ice cream, lots of flavors to choose from, and convenient sidewalk seating.

David W.

Yelp
Very good ice cream. Cluttered store however. But the people there were nice. Will go back.

Shruti K.

Yelp
Had to have them when I visited lake Geneva and boy, waiting in line on a 100 degree day was well worth it! I had the oreo ice cream and it was loaded with oreos and super creamy, just the way I love it!! We also tried the chocolate and it was a deliciously creamy dark chocolate ice cream. A must try, you won't be disappointed!

Kelly F.

Yelp
The ice cream was excellent and I come here every year for my birthday. They still have it setup where you order outside and can't go into the shop. I want to suggest to the man that was working inside on Friday afternoon to watch what your saying out loud about customers because I heard you ranting about some things. I almost didn't order, we are not all yuppies and someone who asks for a cup to share her bottle of water isn't asking too much. It was very hot that day. I'm sure she was more than willing to pay a little for an extra cup, I know things are expensive.

Jefferson L.

Yelp
Perhaps the best ice cream I be ever had. I got a double of black cherry and chocolate chip cookie dough. I'll be back for more. I highly recommend Scoops!

C R.

Yelp
Great ice cream Zanzibar chocolate was delicious Oreo was really good Strawberry Soda was ok A little Pricey for a few scoops of ice cream $45

jtnjtnify l.

Yelp
good ice cream but i found a little bit of hair in my ice cream today i would recommend i think this was just a one time thing

Sue T.

Yelp
On a girls weekend up in Lake Geneva. Had a taste for Schaumburg's Sprinkles Ice Cream Shoppe Ice Cream and stopped in at Scoops Ice Cream Parlor (who serves the same ice cream as Sprinkles) to surprise my friend Timmy who is the owner and I haven't seen in 30 years and got some delicious ice cream. Ice cream and friendship go together. So if love the local family feeling and you're in Lake Geneva, make sure you stop in, get your fix of Sprinkles Ice Cream (aka chocolate Shoppe) and tell Timmy you were sent by the Sprinkles Ice Cream Family in Schaumburg.

Steve H.

Yelp
Excellent and cute little place to get ice cream! My wife and I don't eat dairy, and they usually have good alternatives of non-dairy ice cream and sorbet, along with vegan and even gluten free cones! Make sure you get a punch card to start earning your way to free ice cream!

Viquar M.

Yelp
We are Kilwins fans but due to a huge line today at Kilwins we decided to try this place! Surprise to see they have same ice cream flavors and the ice cream was as good as Kilwins but not better! Hence one less star! I liked the lake views when you can sit out side as they have sitting both inside and outside! Is anyone listening this at Kilwins! And oh! That's the sign I thought was quiet hilarious !

Alicia L.

Yelp
Just do it and enjoy it! We had Scoops Ice Cream two nights in a row, no shame! Huge flavor menu with dairy free options as well.

Top D.

Yelp
The ice cream is so good here! They get such a large portion. I know it might be more costly, but it is well worth it. The quality is very good, and the flavors are simply sublime. Their ice cream is very flavorful and very creamy. There were no extra ice chunks or other negative aspects. It was a very enjoyable experience on a hot day. I may want to get a kid scoop next time, as their portions were very generous.

Ophelia M.

Yelp
Was on a weekend adventure to Lake Geneva and decided that the only thing missing on a hot June day was an ice cold scoop. Or two. Consulted Yelp and found Scoops. It's a small ice cream shop, offering twenty or so flavors of creamy goodness. There are a few tables indoors to sit and enjoy your cone or several more umbrella donned tables outside specifically for Scoops customers. I ordered a scoop of their "This sh*t just got serious" and a scoop of their peanut butter cookie dough. Oh my heavens. Scoops offers, hands down, some of the best ice cream I have ever had the pleasure of consuming. The flavor combos are unique and fun. The peanut butter cookie dough is vanilla ice cream with ribbons of peanut butter, chunks of cookie dough, and chocolate shavings. Seriously. What's not to love? Nothing. That's what. Beyond the fun flavor combos, though, is the simply superior quality of the ice cream itself. From taste to texture to the level of sweetness--all spot on. Wisconsin knows it dairy, folks--trust. Get to it!

Anne W.

Yelp
Do yourself a favor and stop here with the family. Dozens of fun flavors - many unique ones! Vanilla is crazy creamy and delicious. Chocolate lovers will enjoy the Zanzibar.

Kyle M.

Yelp
I have been a loyal "Scoopie" ever since I heard about the place while on retreat. A mind boggling amount of options for everything! They have all sorts of flavors for ice cream and some of my two personal favorites "rhubarb crumble" and "lemon meringue"! Not only do they just do ice cream, but they do snow-cones, shakes (amazing and thick!), smoothies, fresh-squeezed lemonade, iced coffee (a MUST HAVE, I believe the girl who made it was Allison? One of the BEST coffees I've had), and amazing homemade hot chocolate made personally by I think her name was Kally? or Kelly? She's a HOOT! Always worth coming back! You never know what delicious flavors they rotate in and out! Friendly staff, or should I say family because they treat you like such! No visit to this beautiful area is complete without a sweet scoop from Scoops! :) 10/10

Michelle G.

Yelp
Cute little shop amongst the tourist sprawl of downtown lake Geneva, located right near the lakefront. I ordered a chocolate shake and it was delicious! Yum! Great for a hot sunny day, like was last Saturday!

Victoria Y.

Yelp
You must come here if you're visiting Lake Geneva! This place has a large variety of flavors and is reasonably priced! We tried the Zanzibar chocolate and a cappuccino flavor with nuts. Both were really good, especially the Zanzibar chocolate which was extremely rich and creamy. The scoop sizes are also bigger than average.

Josh W.

Yelp
Great place, friendly, fast service despite the rush that came in. Prices are a bit steep,Chicagoish pricing, but it is a tourist area so I gather it makes sense. They had one of my favorites, Blue moon, which is very rare to find. The scoops are big,so if you think you can handle 2, maybe rethink it. Overall a nice place, fun atmosphere.

Jessica L.

Yelp
I've visited Scoops multiple times. I always make it a point to come here and grab some ice cream while I'm visiting Lake Geneva. They have a great variety of flavors (which makes choosing one a little difficult) but you really can't make a wrong choice! I've never had a bad flavor, honestly! But my favorite thing about Scoops would have to be it's proximity to the water! You can see it from right outside the front door. I usually take my treat that short walk down the street so I can sit and eat it with the perfect view of beautiful Lake Geneva. It's a great little addition to each trip. And if you don't feel like sitting around, there are plenty of shops right around Scoops. You could always walk the area and see what's nearby if you don't feel like sitting!

Amy D.

Yelp
YUMMMM- creamy and delicious ice cream to be found at Scoops! I was in the area after a work event, and needed dessert, so decided to stop by Scoops around 7:45pm on a Monday night. They weren't busy then, so I had plenty of time to look at all the different ice cream flavors and sample a couple. I really liked the salted caramel flavor of their This $&@! Just Got Serious (Salted Caramel w/Chocolate Sea Salt Fudge, Salted Cashews), but it was a bit too sweet. I ended up ordering the Cookies n Cream & Cherry Chocolate Chip ($4.59, https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=hu8HQR_Foi85gvabML8CPA&userid=76vIFZcC7owykCBjMfGVXg), which was really good! Probably not the BEST combination, but I ate the cherry chocolate first. I loved all the cherry bits in the ice cream, and also the pieces of dark chocolate. The cookies n cream was chock full of cookie bits, and both ice creams were super creamy. Somehow this giant cup was technically only one scoop. I would definitely come back if in the Lake Geneva area!

Rob C.

Yelp
if you don't want to waste your money on average ice cream and get verbally abused by the owner, stay away from this dive. After spending $40, our group moved an outdoor table to avoid the rain. The owner pulled up and got out of his vehicle and starting yelling at our group to move the table back. This is a ROTTEN way to treat PAYING customers. We will never go back to this ice cream shop. They are not the only ice cream place in town. I am going to tell as many people possible to stay away from this "business"

Ashley T.

Yelp
"This $&@! Just Got Serious" is quite possibly the best ice cream I've ever had. I'll be dreaming of that cone until I can make a trip back to the area and Scoops will be my first stop!

Nicole R.

Yelp
I ordered the &@$() is delicious and it was so creamy and sweet I also ordered the Arnold Palmer ice tea. I love the fact that the ice cream parlor offers a variety of flavors, I liked the carrot mango Italian ice too!! I will come back again!

Laura R.

Yelp
Nothing fancy here, just phenomenal ice cream. If you are going to get ice cream, skip the chains and skip the fro yos, and just go big. This place is sooo good.

Astin M.

Yelp
Delicious ice cream but a little pricy! 1 scoop 4.15 2 scoop 6.15 3 scoop 8.15 Really interesting flavors. There's no real line Friendly workers

Lissa B.

Yelp
Scoops Ice Cream & Deli advertised 40 flavors of ice cream! However, when we entered to check them out, it seemed they really only had a few and just made different mixes of them... and everything was something like chunky monkey or moose tracks... I really wanted a fruit ice cream like raspberry, orange, pear, or even simple lemon! Yet everything was all this really heavy creamy stuff. I guess this is Wisconsin so probably this is what's popular... I think I've been outside of the US too long and got too used to gelato!

Lisa A.

Yelp
I don't know when they switched but for years I would not compare this to Kilwin's and they serve a very good ice cream by the Chocolate Shoppe the sign with the standing cow. My grandson loved his superman ice cream and they others enjoyed fresh squeezed lemonade.

Mike I.

Yelp
Perfect stop for some ice cream in lake Geneva. Prices are very fair. Gets pretty busy during the summer. Obviously. Sundae was perfect.

Marty G.

Yelp
I was visiting lake Geneva with some family members and we stopped at kilwins to get some ice cream but some members of the group wanted soft serve instead so we stopped at scoops afterwards those of us who already had ice cream sat outside at one of the tables to wait for those ordering. As soon as we sit down the owner starts madly tapping on the window telling us to leave, pointing to his sign on the table scoops customers only. So 5 of 7 of us were scoops customers but the 2 who were not couldn't sit at the table and wait for the 5 going in the store.

Neel K.

Yelp
THEY DO TAKE CREDIT CARDS!! This place is amazing!!! Don't wast your money on the chain ice cream places like Kilwin's. The ice cream at Scoops is genuine and make with real milk/cream. The best of all the flavors are really cool. Everything from the "fat elvis" to the "turtle" to the other 30 flavors that they have. All the mixes are amazing, with a combination of all the ingredients you would love in your ice cream. Everyone complains about the price, but you pay for what your get. In addition, a single scoop at this place is HUGE, definitely worth the $4. Also the staff is very helpful and friendly. This will be our new go to ice cream shop for the lake geneva area.

katie l.

Yelp
The flavors are unique and amazing! Can't wait to go back and try more! Worth the wait on a Saturday night. Kilwins is fine, but they're a chain. Go to Scoops!!!

Anne F.

Yelp
Excellent ice cream! Great service. Very efficient and quick! Definitely highly recommend to go here!
