Quaint little ice cream shop. The prices are a little high, but they do give large portions. We ordered a banana split which was very good and big. Also got some shaved ice deserts and a cookies and cream ice cream. Everything was good and the server took a lot of pride in his work. Everything looked just like the pictures and he was courteous.

I’ve been driving past this place for years and never stopped! (Mainly cause I eat very healthy) but today I had a good reason to swing in and give them a try! And it was beyond wonderful! Friendly and helpful staff and the menu/ choices were damn near endless! Not to mention it taste amazing!!! Definitely a must try !!!

Great group of kids working here! The selection is phenomenal and they keep adding more! Wish there was a better parking, but I’m not gonna ding them for something that they cannot control. Other than that, ice cream is always a good idea!

I had a bad experience here. I ordered a medium cone ice cream, but the cone was cracked right when they handed it to me. I showed them immediately and asked for another one, but they refused unless I paid again. On top of that, the ice cream was also really runny, dripping right away, and honestly didn’t taste that great either.

Service review: I was pretty upset that I drove here since they stay open until 10 PM. I got there at 9:40 and began to place my order only to find out that the staff had started breaking down and cleaning machines. Don’t tell me you are OPEN until 10 PM when really it’s 9:30 PM. My 7 year old cried because we couldn’t get anything other than a scoop of ice cream. I could have stayed home and not wasted gas, time, and saved tears from my child. We ended up leaving and not ordering anything.

Tried this place for the first time last night! I had the strawberry shortcake sundae and it was so delicious. My friend had the cotton candy sundae and they loved it! Definitely will be back!!

Delicious homemade ice cream & some different flavors... got a 2 scoop cup... almond chocolate coconut was really good & chocolate chip, also very good. Hubby got chocolate hunk & banana pudding. No complaints lol ! Still early in season but it was a hot sunny Saturday and there was only 1 girl working, so a bit of a wait, for hardly any people on line.

Small ice cream place located in New Castle. Scoops offers a variety of ice cream flavors, sundaes and shakes. I drive past often and there is always a line.

Warm friendly people with ice cold delicious ice cream desserts. Yesterday, Saturday 06/28/25 my wife and I stopped in. I had a mint chocolate chip cone and she had a sundae. I'm glad we live nearby.

My fav childhood ice cream place!! Staff is always friendly and the ice cream is always perfect and cute!! Sooo many flavor and topping options!!

Our family DR. is directly across from Scoops, so one day we decided to stop instead of DQ. The food is really good. It's cheaper than DQ and they don't skimp on the portions, and much cleaner ! Service is great, the people are so friendly. Plus you get a punchcard for free ice cream. !

This was a great small ice cream stop on our drive up through Delaware! Prices were so cheap (I'm used to buying ice cream in the city) and the woman helping us was very friendly. We ordered from outside and she wore a mask, so it felt safe from a COVID perspective. I've posted the menu below, I got an Arctic Swirl which is basically where they blend your ice cream of choice with any topping(s) of choice. So good! I would have also loved to try the flavor of the week. They do have vegan flavors available, cones, ices, sundaes, milkshakes, etc. Large selection, cheap prices, and tasty ice cream - lovely find on a sweaty day driving home.

Scoops is a place to go to get homemade ice cream, water ice and other wonderful sweets for yourself and your entire family. They have a big, big selection on their menu and I have tried most of them, but, my favorite is Water Ice, delicious! Take your pick because you will have many choices to choose from. Guess what they also give discounts to all Veterans with ID! The staff and owners are wonderful. Take a trip to Scoops on Christiana Road in New Castle, DE and enjoy yourselves! It is take out only and they have benches there or you can eat your sweets in your cars.

Scoops has an amazing menu of freshly made, delicious, hand dipped ice cream. Service however can be a little shaky at times. I have received the wrong ice cream and been disappointed when they are out of sugar cones which is a common occurrence.

Delicious ice cream! This was my first visit; stopped after eating spicy Thai food nearby. The rum raisin did not skimp on raisins nor rum flavor! My husband enjoyed the peach, full of peach chunks. Service was prompt and friendly. I thought the price was very reasonable. Will definitely return next time I'm in the area!

Scoops has THE BEST non-dairy ice cream in this area. I've tasted several different types and many leave a distasteful aftertaste on your tongue. Scoops' non-dairy option is smooth and creamy. I'm a fan and customer for life.

The ice cream was great! And the serving size is huge!! Especially for the price! Cant be beat

Nice little spot. I like the variety they have but the pricing is a little high for me. I like Italian ice over ice cream, so im used to certain prices for a certain amount of treat. But its pretty popular so don't take my rating as a downer. Its just a one and done spot for me

We love visiting Scoops all summer long. their treats never disappoint! A special thank you goes out to them today, my wife and children stopped by to try and grab a last minute scoop as we know the season is ending, we picked up two quarts to enjoy and the family gifted it to them, we asked to pay and they declined. A true testament to a great family run business. We were coming back next year as we couldn't miss out, but a huge thank you to the kindness you showed my family today. 5 stars does not do them justice! #cookiemonster#darkchocolaterasberry

Scoops is a great little ice cream shop conveniently located close to my work. I've been a number of times in the past few years and decided to go today after bad Mexican mouth lunch burn lol. Nothing cools the pallate quite like a smooth creamy milkshake. Next to gelato, milkshakes are my frozen sweet treat kryptonite. When it comes to milkshakes I only order black and white. A perfect harmony of sensuous chocolate syrup and rich vanilla ice cream, if executed correctly. I was fortunate there was no wait and the girl was very quick to make my shake. The size of a regular/small was massive for $3.75. The shake nailed the chocolate/vanilla balance perfectly; however, it was not mixed well resulting in a super thick shake that stuck in the straw. The shake was simply made more delicious by this challenge.

OK I love this place. It small, family owned. So its service can be slow when its busy so... That explains the four stars. Besides that they have an assortment of flavors, with classics as well as some fan favorites like Superman and bubblegum. The staff is young and friendly. And also offer hot food along with the cold. There water ice is traditional. Unlike Rita's there's is made in from scratch. Rita's originally was made that way but not any more plus who wants to eat candy in there water ice?? Eww. I'm a traditionalist, lemon is perfect. Reminds me of when I was little and my dad an I would stop at a side stand for a lemon water ice when at the beach. Lil bits of lemon flesh in every bite. Every visit is a trip down memory lane. Defiantly worth checking out!!!

Surprisingly large portions for a reasonable price, oddball water ice flavors like margarita (delicious!). Root beer water ice has a hint of birch beer flavor to it. Menu items include funnel cake, sundaes, shakes, water ice, pretzels, and many other things I'm forgetting.

Every time I ask for the vegan flavor they don't have it .... frustrating ! This is the only place that offers that variety and when they don't have it , very disappointing.

Scoops could be a great place--emphasis on "could". Sadly, it fails. Who could screw up ice cream and water ice, you ask? Well, I suppose since Scoops has no less than 100 items (think soft pretzels, chocolate-covered strawberries, frozen bananas, waffles, funnel cakes, hot dogs, nachos, etc. etc.), nothing is perfected. The ice cream is bland and not memorable and the water ice (at least the pina colada and strawberry) leaves an unpleasant chemical taste in your mouth. And to add insult to injury, the staff is incredibly slow. If you're dying for a sweet treat in this area, head to Rita's, Bruster's, or Marble Slab Creamery.

If the ice cream itself wasn't ok, I probably wouldn't take the time to come back. Was told immediately the soft serve machine has been has broken for days. Was told there was no waffle bowls even though there were two on the rack in the window, asked for wet walnuts- none of those either. That's a staple ingredient. Ok, asked for Reese cups- none of those either. Nothing I came for was there. It's prime season, make sure everything is stocked and working.

This is one of my favorite ice cream places. They have a dirt sundae that my grandkids love, it's chocolate ice cream with crushed chocolate cookies, gummy worms and another kind of gummy candy. My husband loves their banana splits. The ice cream cones are huge. What I love the bed is the variety you can get soft serve or dipped ice cream. They also water ice soft pretzels and more. It's also close to me.

Scoops is the Best little Ice cream shop around. Great menu and prices and the staff is always friendly and ready to help you... Their soft serve is creamy and the hand dipped is delicious. We've spread the word around that everyone should try Scoops. Yes some times there is a little line you have to wait in, but that's only because they get busy because Scoops is that good. Great location, on Christiana Rd. If we want some ice cream we all drive to Scoops.

While this wasn't my first time at Scoops, I had such a bad experience that I need to warn others. The woman who took our order was some kind if ice cream snob. My boyfriend asked for a cherry milkshake and she said "we don't have cherry" and after I pointed to cherry on the menu she said "Oh. Did you want BLACK cherry?" as if she had no idea what we meant. I got a double scoop cone of Bailey's Irish Cream and let me tell you: not only was it the worst ice cream I've ever had, it was one of the top ten worst eating experiences I've ever had. Smelling the cone made my chest tighten up and the ice cream itself tasted like actual chemicals. There was no flavor whatsoever and it had a grainy texture. I paid $3.60 for it so I tried to eat it but I only got like three bites in before I had to throw it in the trash right there by the window. And no one working there even asked if everything was okay.

Sad day since Scoops is closing for the season. After a hard day of work my wife and daughter in law wanted to treat themselves to a milkshake and they stopped by Scoops since it's their favorite. The web site said they were open but the shop was dark inside. As they drove around back someone was outside cleaning up. My daughter in law must have had her sad puppy dog eyes when she mentioned the web site. He volunteered to open back up and make them a black and white milkshake. They each got a huge milkshake on the house. SCORE! We'll be back on opening day 2018.

Great ice cream shop. Stopped in on our road trip back home for some delicious ice cream cones and sundaes. They have tons of great flavors and are generous with their portions. The staff were very friendly and were open to letting customers sample new flavors. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!

This ice cream hut seems unassuming from afar, but looks are quite deceiving. My wife and I are DE transplants and had been looking for a good ice cream place. We happened upon Scoops one night and have been frequenting it ever since. They have a multitude of different hard scoop ice cream flavors, including the best mint chocolate chip and coconut we've had in DE. They also happen to have the best brownie sundae, hands down, of any place we've eaten ice cream. I recommend this place to anyone who is a connoisseur of good ice cream. Check it out!!

Scoops is not short on options with a menu including Italian (water) ice, soft serve and hard ice cream there's surely something to satisfy whatever you're craving. We had the blue raspberry ice and a twist soft serve cone with sprinkles. Neither were particularly impressive, the ice was overly flavored and the soft-serve was comparable to most chain restaurants... Nothing special. Still not a bad place for many options, large portions and competitive prices.

Went last night for the first time to try it out. We ordered three things one was a small watermelon water ice for my 2 year old and they gave us a watermelon Gelati. My boyfriend got soft serve and me a cake batter milkshake. I couldn't even suck any up the straw! Also they were veryyyy slow getting our order . The benches out front are nice but you shouldn't have to walk to the back of the building for a trash can.

I have been all over the world and SCOOPS Ice Cream is right on top. It's creamy, smooth, rich and tastes good. The staff is always helpful. I'm not sure if it's because I visit them almost everyday from opening season to closing season, but whatever the reason, they are efficient, friendly and always greet me with a smile. I love SCOOPS. You can't find better tasting icecream for miles. Hands down SCOOPs trumps Ritas, Marble Slab, and Sweet Lucy's. I would be dishonest if I said they are better than Cold Stone...just being honest. But for price and taste, they are the best! Waiting for them to open this season. I thought she usually opens on St Patrick Day....of course I was there!

Great little moms and pops place prices are also cool. The banana split however needs real strawberries

They just lost my family and I as customers. They've messed up my order few times before but this last Saturday was the worst. I asked for a banana split to go; NO chocolate. When I got home I found out that 3 parts of the ice cream was chocolate, the banana wasn't ripe enough and the little bit of vanilla ice cream they gave me was mixed with some kind of sour water which I think came from the pineapple because it was sour too! I Called the store to complain about it and a young lady named Megan (who I think was the same who served my ice cream) answered the phone and didn't care about it, not even a sincere apology. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!

I love this place!! They make an awesome blizzard/flurry; they use lots of toppings, are friendly, and have decent hours. Def recommend u try it.

Great-tasting soft-serve. The pretzels were a bit hard, but I'd rather have this than Rita's down the street. Large portions for a relatively low price.

Bright, clean location with a pleasant lady at the window made the experience of stopping for ice cream cones better than average. My kids and I ordered double cones, mixing and matching flavors. The coffee and Bailey's Irish Cream flavors were delicious. And the prices were fair - for a change! Check them out!
