Hands down, one of my favourite Italian restaurants of all time. Excellent service, outstanding service. A place to savour every dish and enjoy one of life’s greatest pleasures. Gotta book! Photos will never do it justice.

We discovered this place when my husband was given a voucher by his sister. We held onto it for so long before making the booking. But boy when we came did we get blown away by the most delicious food we’ve ever tried. Every dish was faultless. It was a night to remember and we keep coming back. It’s pricey but worth it. We’ve dined in places that cost more but didn’t come close to the satisfaction you get from visiting Scorpi. We truly appreciate the effort that’s gone into it and would eat here every night if we could. It’s THAT good. Anyone who hasn’t tried this place is missing out.

24/10/25 - 5 stars Scopri has been recommended to me so many times over the last couple of years and I'm glad I finally got the chance to visit. I'm usually a little dubious about fancy-ish Italian as haven't had amazing experiences in the past. Scopri isn't all that pretentious though. Pretty humble, but, tastefully neat interior. Staff (shoutout Giorgio) were excellent, knowledgeable and friendly. Most importantly, the food. I think a group is a must as you'd want to try as many dishes as possible and you might be disappointed if only getting a couple. Price point wasn't as bad as expected and left satisfied (~$130-140pp). Glad they honour the tradition of complimentary bread as a lot of dishes had amazing sauces which otherwise may have gone to waste. Beef carpaccio: A, 7/10. At $36, was not very impressed at the flavour or texture. Wafer thin as intended but small serving. Kingfish crudo: SS, 9/10. Always a crowd pleaser and the tangy sauce here was no different. Fish was fresh and sweet. Calamari: B, 6/10. Ok but pales a little in comparison. $38. Wouldn't really recommend. Scallops: S, 8/10. Tasty but wouldn't say worth $12 each. Quail: SSS, 10/10. The bird itself was nice, but, the sauce was exceptional. Very umami yet sweet. Rabbit agnolotti: S+, 8.5/10. Sauce was the star here though a bit too much butter for my liking. Agnolotti was tasty but a bit small. $35. Duck ragu: S+, 8.5/10. Pretty good and well balanced. Couldn't really tell it was duck but that might just be me. $39. Lobster tagliolini: S, 8/10. Tasty and fresh but probably not worth $60. Goat: SS+, 9.5/10. Umami, sweet and rich. Definitely a unique dish and done very well. $49 is worth trying. Bistecca: SS, 9/10. $120 for a well cooked and juicy steak would ordinarily be a bit of a mid experience, but, I liked the table service of various mustards. Tiramisu: SSS, 10/10. Definitely the best I've had so far. We had to get 2nds. Panna cotta: SS, 9/10. Apple tart: S, 8/10. Chocolate torte: S, 8/10.

First time I’d been back here for some years, I was disappointed in aspects of the experience. The entrees were good. They were nicely presented and flavourful. My main was quite a let down though, unfortunately. Osso buco is one of my favourite Italian dishes but the one here was quite ordinary, much to my astonishment. It was decidedly cool by the time it reached the table. The potato mash had a skin on it, the type you get when a dish has been left too long to cool, probably to allow my companions’ mains to finish being plated so all mains could be served together. The whole dish had lost its aura for me, the first time in my lengthy life that I didn’t enjoy an osso buco and failed to finish it. In retrospect, I made an error. I should have sent it back. Things got better. The sides were nice. I really enjoyed the cheese platter - it was a beauty - and similarly the cannoli which was excellent. I found the service uneven and almost too brusque at times. I also found the Friday afternoon atmosphere rather blokey and corporate. Lots of noise and numbers of very expensive wines being hunted out from back rooms. It just felt a bit too testosterone fueled to me. This was a curious experience. I’d always loved this restaurant and had spent a delightful milestone birthday here once. But, it didn’t quite work for me this time

We’ve been coming here for many years, and the food has always been consistently good with excellent service. The fried calamari is a standout perfectly cooked every time! And the pasta is always spot on. They also offer a great selection of wine to complement the meal.

Google
The food was exceptional!! I love the carpaccio raw fish and scallops the most! Their risotto was also cooked perfectly! Really love the atmosphere (except for some loud speaking foreigners at the other table).

Google
Busy and popular Italian restaurant recommended by Italian friend. Service is attentive, staffs are friendly. Ordered the chef menu, overall is good. The Italian dumpling has very fine minced fillings and full of delicate flavours.

The food was a little on the bland side. But overall still tasty. The dessert was the best part, we had a pistachio ice cream thing. I haven’t had anything like it - one of the best desserts I have had.

Yelp
This is one of my fav places, the ambience is perfect for date nights. I especially loved the spaghetti vongole. Giorgio was so kind and helped settle us in. I highly recommend if you love italian!

Yelp
Probably best Italian restaurant I've been to. It was at top of TripAdvisor ratings, and deservedly so. Food was authentic and excellent, and the service was impeccable. The bread is an in-house sourdough and awesome. The beef carpaccio is a must. As is the Tortino chocolate dessert.

Yelp
Surely this is one of the best Italian in Melbourne. They have varieties of choices, even vegetarian can enjoy lunch here! Not that pricy, but serves sophisticated dishes! Recommend eating chicken, veal, and pasta here!

Yelp
What can I say, except that Scopri hits the spot, that craving-Italian-which-isn't-your-average-everyday-Italian-comfort-food spot. Dishes like the pan seared squid ink and saffron rice topped with prawns, the Lamb topped with a pecorino-parsley or the Roman style slow cooked Berkshire porkbelly with a borlotti bean ragu. And for dessert, the 'sweet coffee cup' - a crisp wafer shell filled with coffee zabaglione, on sweetened buffalo ricotta. This is a special occasion restaurant for me, it's classy and it's special. A visit to Scopri wouldn't be complete without trying their signature dish - Berkshire pork sausage with grilled Scamorza cheese and minted zucchini. But that's only if it's in season.

Yelp
This is a beautiful, small, quiet dining room with amazingly good Italian food and discreet, polished service. There's a menu which is supplemented by some daily specials, some of which are on a blackboard and some of which are described by the staff. We started with salmon carpaccio and a caprese salad, each nicely presented and seasoned. The pasta courses were a fruitti de mer with squid ink spaghetti and a hand rolled Spaghetti Neri alla Chitarra. They were both outstanding in flavor and presentation. One of us also had a flavorful King George whiting, perfectly done and stuffed with bread crumbs, raisins and capers. The pistachio semifreddo with figs was good, but the rest of the meal was better. This restaurant is a gem. It could easily get crowded so bookings are a good idea. Open for lunch and dinners Tuesday through Friday and dinner only on Saturday.

Yelp
I had one of my most relaxing and warm eating experiences here at Scopri. Scopri seems to be setting the standard for most of the restaurants in the area. The service is friendly, the meal portions are large and the wine list is large and reasonably priced. I had a mate come over and after seeing that the only thing occupying my fridge was a rotten tomato and some blue cheese (it wasn't blue when i bought it), we decided to eat out... The only problem? It was pouring outside with rain! The closest place i could think of was Scopri, i would see the venue constantly packed with people all having a very good time, so we ran with our hoods up to this Italian eatery. We were seated immediately and orders were taken promptly. The wait staff are switched on when it comes to matching the meals to a wine so ask away. Meals were delicious, wine followed suit. The atmosphere is so cheery, interior is a tad bland but i guess it attributes to the old style presence of the venue.

Yelp
Service here is second to none. I have coeliac disease and they accommodated me with ease and minimum fuss. We opted for the degustation menu. We started with the kingfish carpaccio, then buffalo mozzarella dish with beans (delicious). I had rissotto next and the others a pasta ravioli. The main was slow cooked goat and accompanying vegies. For dessert we had a chocolate pudding with vanilla ice cream melting in the centre. Delizioso!

Yelp
Easily one of the best in Melbourne. In addition to the regular items on the menu, each night features magnificent specials. For our quick dinner tonight, we started with an entre of king fish carpaccio with sliced radish, which was superb. The night's other highlight was a fresh broiled flounder with oregano and a fennel garnish. We showed up without reservations and we're graciously accommodated, but reservations would have been a better bet as the restaurant completely filled up.

Yelp
I visited Scopri a couple of weeks ago, on a quick trip home to Melbourne after having lived overseas since the start of the year. I won't mince words here; it was one of the best restaurant experiences I've had in a long, long time, and it made me miss home something chronic. This is Italian food as you will never find in Carlton's main drags. Dishes are based on traditional Italian flavours and ingredients (think rabbit, goat, zucchini flowers), and are refined without losing any of the charm that makes real Italian food so wonderful. The wait staff is attentive, friendly and thoughtful, and the ambiance is intimate without overdoing it - dimmed lighting, a nice amount of space between tables, and a pleasantly soft babble of noise. In Italian, "Scopri" means "discover", and - fittingly - the menu encourages you to try seasonal produce that you might not see all that often. I started with the fried zucchini flower stuffed with ricotta and basil, which was a great version of a dish I always love. The batter wasn't heavy, and the filling was light as a cloud, the way it's meant to be. I then moved on to the homemade chestnut pappardelle with rabbit ragu. This was so delicate and packed full of flavour; I ate far more than I thought I could fit, and I wish I could eat the rest of it right now. Best pasta dish I've had in a restaurant since I was in Italy, I think. My mum had the whipped baccala (a salted, dried fish, for those who haven't tried this hairy little number), which was really tasty although I don't love baccala due to the aforementioned hairiness. For mains she had quail, which looked excellent, although I wasn't really paying attention because I was busy making out with my pasta. The menu changes regularly, and in a really cute touch, calls out a handful of ingredients that are super-seasonal on the day (e.g. pomegranate, chestnut, partridge). Bottom line: go to Scopri with an open mind and if you're unsure of what to get, ask what is best that day. It will be something that makes you want to come back.

Yelp
Amazing service - they squeezed us in without a reservation - the local pinot noir, bread, scallops, pasta, and whole fish were all delicious, delicate, and wonderful. The prices were very fair. We loved it.

Yelp
Fabulous small Italian with a very tight well put together menu & daily specials, of course. I would place there food with other Italian I have eaten in LA, SF, NY and Italy. Prices are quite reasonable based on Scopri quality. The staff is knowledgeable, efficient and incredibly friendly. Would be going back but they are closed on Sunday and we are leaving for Cairns on Monday. Will definitely plan another visit next time in Melbourne. Shout out to Patrick from Ravenna & Alex.

Yelp
A bit of a car ride out from the CBD, but worth it. Great service and food. The truffle risotto was outstanding. We also tried the kid goat, which was really good.
