Scottish Dave's Pub

Live original music many nights, reasonably priced drinks every night. The proprietors are the kindest people among all those that walk the earth and the bartenders are pretty amazing too.

Scottish Dave is a treasure. He runs an excellent pub and as a band from out of state, he hosted us graciously. I have also visited this place previously as a patron, and I was so excited for my band to play there, and it certainly lived up to my expectations. 10/10, would recommend

We all love Scottish Dave's. It's a great place to see live bands and knock a few back. Dave is a cultural treasure to have in CT and the music scene as a whole.

We loved this place. Scottish Dave is a wonderful human being! My band came in from Rhode Island. They treated us like gold. Definitely worth the trip.

Dave is the man! He and his wife are such lovely people. I always have a great time and feel very welcomed there. They have had some really great shows and are LGBTQ and weirdo friendly, which is so very important to me.

Great place, the atmosphere was awesome. Can't wait for another show to come there. I would recommend this bar to anyone!!! ( I don't drink and I have a great time there)

It's a hole in the wall with some flavor. Two pool tables to keep the night going with an atmosphere for conversation. I can understand why this is a local favorite

Great burgers, excellent beers on tap. Scottish beers are mild and tasty. Service is good and the patrons pleasant. A good local pub. Live music too. Rustic and well worn the pub is comfortable and friendly.

We went for drinks and it was just fantastic. The atmosphere was so fun and welcoming, our bartender (Shelby) was just wonderful. We even got to meet Scottish Dave himself We will definitely be back, hopefully for food next time too!

Best shepherds pie!! Walked in to a session with a local fiddle club. Great afternoon. Will return. Heard from a friend the Guinness Stew is great.

They are hardly open but have great food when opened. Just call ahead. They do special band events! Great music too.

My Mother, and her friends, absolutely adore this place. And Dave, yes THE Dave, himself... is a great guy. Always willing to go the extra mile for his customers and friends. Recently, for my Mom's birthday, I had to accompany her here... much later than I wanted. And even tho I was tired and ready to go to bed, I saw how much the locals loved and respected my mom... even when she dropping her glass of chardonnay. After telling me loving stories about her, a woman and her husband looked at me and said, "If you wanna go back home, we will take care of your mom and get her home safe." Scottish Dave's Pub is essentially "CHEERS"... you wanna go where everyone knows your name.

Oh what a great place. I went in for a beer, met Scottish Dave himself and will be back many more times! Definitely the place to go for a relaxed Scottish/Irish pub feel, a great place to meet friends and spend some time hanging out.

My friends and I had a great time during Scottish Dave's Birthday Celebration! Great music by The Dreadnoughts and My Druthers. A rocking bagpiper and hearty food and drink. And a few surprises - a mosh pit and a polka train. What a fabulous night celebrating the amazing owner. Look forward to more outings to this amazing pub.

Food is deliciously displayed with great flavors. The service was extraordinary & hospitable. Love the ambiance - so cozy & comfortable. I highly recommend their hamburgers & other meat dishes.

Quite an experience! If you are looking for a real honest to goodness Dive Bar - This is it. Dave is a hoot and the people are friendly and service is very friendly. Don't expect a lot from the food. If the better restaurants followed Dave's receipt for making the customer comfortable and welcome, they be full every night

Scottish Dave's is a great and unique bar. Dave is a great musician and singer, and a huge supporter of live music. Everything from punk to jazz to fiddling to rock to ska and so on.... He has a great, well-lit stage with a great-sounding house PA. The place is built for music and good times, of which I've had many as both a player and a patron. One under-appreciated aspect is that Dave's an excellent chef. The compact menu has great Scottish and other items ranging from Shepherd's Pie and the best Guinness Beef Stew in the world, to Fish and Chips, Indian, Cajun, and other specials. There is even a fine Black Bean burger for the veggies out there. It's a real pub atmosphere where locals and visitors gather for a great time!

Dave is one of the best people I've had the good fortune to know and his bar is a comfortable and friendly atmosphere. Love Dave and his pub forever!

So we ended up here for a drink after a nice dinner across the street at the new Nataz, Scottish Dave's is a very typical dive bar, pool tables, darkly lit, they do have a Touch Tunes juke box which is a plus, they have weekly food specials, and our drink pours were generous. However, and there is a big however, the place smells awful, of mold and mildew, so much so that I would never want to return, and couldn't entertain eating there. I do hear they have entertainment and Scottish food specialties.

The atmosphere, food and people are simply the best . The food is so good , it makes me homesick . The Guinness Stew and Sheppard's Pie are to die for. "Dave" is the nicest guy you could hope to meet . A hidden gem. Check it out . Ohhh. And they live music on many nights and pool tables . A truest authentic pub . So happy we found it

Friendly, fun, and the food is great. I love little hole in the wall neighborhood places, so I stopped in while on a road trip to grab a bite. By the time I left I felt like I knew all of the regulars forever!

I cannot day enough good things about Scottish Dave's. The owners are so friendly and accommodating and the food is top notch for a local bar. Best part: great bartenders! Highly recommend Scottish Dave's.

This place is the best dive bar. Excellent food, great service, and the best part is they have haggis on the menu! Can't wait to come back here next time we are in the area.

Scottish Dave is legit, people. And I'm talking the *person* Scottish Dave, not just the establishment that is his namesake. The man literally stands just inside amongst his patrons and greets all who walk in, introducing himself with a friendly handshake, his pleasantly thick accent, and, if you so like, a drink recommendation. (Have the Scottish brew Belhaven. It will certainly not disappoint.) There are darts, a jukebox, pool table, and yes, a menu featuring the haggis supper. No joke. Scottish Dave vouches for it ... Reportedly oats are what make it "fluffy." I instantly loved the man, but Imma gonna stick with Belhaven for now. Whether you're a haggis-lovin kinda guy or gal, this place has, eh, fookin grrrrrrate vibes and is so worth a visit.

We stopped in for lunch today, very nice bar, cozy though being early it was pretty empty inside. The staff was extremely friendly, beers were good and the food was unbelievably good. Hope to get back one evening for some live music, I can imagine it's a great time.

Several of my friends and I put on our kilts and went down to Scottish Dave's for Saturday night. It is great to have a truly Scottish Pub in Connecticut. Dave and the Hen were very welcoming and friendly. Enjoyed the music and the Scottish Ale's on tap - which you can't find anywhere else in the area. The food was good, prices reasonable and we all had a great time. Recommend it to all, but if you are a Scot it's a must.

Fantastic. Pub, music, all you'd want in Scotland, but here! Such a fun time! Dave is the owner and awesome musician. His heart and soul is in to this place.

Dave is more than welcoming, a true host. It is kind of a dive bar and has a must smell, but if you can get over that it's a fun place. Can't speak for the food as we just went for evening drinks.

Great place! Tons of fun! Dave is the real deal. If your scottish or just want some good food, this place is is for you. Dave makes every patron feel welcome, and does his best to greet every single person who walks in. I am scottish myself, born in the US, but my mother was born in Scotland. She actually lived one street over from Dave and she loves the place! The food is excellent and fairly priced. If you haven't tried it, do yourself a favor and get in there! Dave gets some great music too. All different types of bands play here and it's a blast! Don't think that this place is just for scots, it's for everyone!

Probably the best prime rib on the shoreline, surprisingly enough. Yes, a dive bar but one of the better ones.Great people.

We swing in from time to time to have a drink after going out to diner, they often have live music on the weekends. Yeah it's a bit of a dive bar and some of the patrons aren't the highest class of people, but Dave's is always a welcoming and nice place to have a drink. Dave himself is a very nice guy too! I can't say I've eaten there, but everyone says the food is excellent and priced right.

Kind of a dive bar. Very friendly and engaging staff and owner, but not a great selection of beer. Dark and a little dingy, but if you're looking for a loveable cheap dive, look no further.

The genuine Scottish article. They have Tenants lager cans and Belhaven on tap. Football matches on a big screen. Owners who are friendly and aim to please. Good veggie burger, good fries.
