Mission’s Popular Pica Pica Arepa Kitchen Makes a Surprise Comeback | Eater SF

"I noted that Jack London Square institution Scott’s Seafood has reopened after COVID shutdowns and a major renovation of the 30,000-square-foot restaurant; a fixture in Oakland for 37 years, it serves oysters Rockefeller, salmon alla bella, and linguine and clams in an old-school upscale environment." - Erin Perkins

Excellent food and service. Perfect scenic view and lovely live jazz piano playing. It’s such a gem in the waterfront of Oakland Jack London area. Watching the water taxi ferrying between Alameda and Oakland was quite interesting. Food- clam chowder was tasty and creamy , I could go for another cup. Raw oysters from British Columbia were fresh and sweet. The house made sauces were great pairing with the oysters. Rockerfella oysters and fish and chips were also fantastic. Crispy and not too salty. Fish was juicy inside with sufficient temperature heat. The string fries were very good. Blue cheese Romain salad with bacon were crisp and delicious. Overall very satisfying meal in a beautiful sunny afternoon .

Some of the best oysters to date. Got a dozen for the table then went light with their seafood salad, which was very nice, then went straight for 2 great deserts (Pecan Pie and Cheese Cake). Coffee was fantastic. Had a window seat with a great view of dive bombing pelicans. Fun experience. Will explore the bigger fare next time. Service was good but very ok....from the host to the waiter to the bussing service...most had a very sober demeanor which really makes you wonder what management was like.

I have visited Scott's on many occasions but never for a reception for a restaurant. This was quite a joyous occasion and I really appreciated how nicely the restaurant was decorated in the back and how it was all set up. Overall it's definitely would be a great option for hosting events in the future

Our first time here and extremely disappointed. Service was great. The place looks nice and festive. Loved the live piano and the view was just amazing. The food, however, was awful. The calamari came drenched in butter- not even crispy. The fish and chips that our teens ordered was not very good. Crab salad was not that great ( I was excited to try it- it should have been amazing). The only thing that seemed fresh were the veggies that came on each plate. Most of our plates were full of food when we asked for them to be cleared. Nobody asked why we didn’t eat much. Still, we had a good time there and normally, I wouldn’t even write a review but since the meal cost almost $400 for our group of 4, I felt I needed to. The food should be better for that price.

We had several opportunities to have dinner and lunch in this restaurant. It never disappointed us. Fresh food, perfectly cooked and presented. Highly recommended!

We had a very lovely lunch overlooking the water and our server was excellent! She asked us if it was a special occasion and we said yes! She made it extra special. This is a great place for a leisurely meal. The ambience is old school special. I enjoyed my clam chowder and the appetizers were a hit.

This restaurant has a great location. The views of the water are nice, and it has many quiet seats for a romantic evening meal. I visit here occasionally with my Darling, and we are always well-catered to by the team. The food is so tasty, and the presentation makes it even more delightful. There's a parking garage nearby, or you can hire a ride service. Either way, I like the trendy area with many sights and activities. There's a free shuttle across the waterway to what appears to be an excellent spot for a walk. It's a very active area around the restaurant, so I plan to make a day of it on my next visit. So one of my favorite places to visit over the last couple of years.

We came here to celebrate their 50th anniversary. Old fashioned cooking. Lots of creamy sauce, hearty meats. The wine list is ok. The service was great, attentive but not intrusive. The location is great. Our parking validation did not work but there is a big safe garage next door.
