Although it was dinner time, the restaurant was far from busy. There were only a few customers and all but one all at the bar. Including the bartender, there were as many customers as there were waitstaff. Rather than take up a table, I decided to eat at the bar. As soon as I sat, the bartender provided a menu.
I do not often see Sam Adams on tap. I requested the Samuel Adams Wicked Hazy as I have yet to have it. Unfortunately, the tap ran out just before I arrived. Since it is bottled, I had better luck with the Revolver Blood and Honey.
I ordered the restaurant's namesake, The Underdog. When I initially held the cheeseburger, the bottom bun was slight soggy. Fortunately, the bun never came close to falling apart. Normally, I am not a fan of crunchy ingredients in a hamburger. These potato spirals with the lime green taste was definitely an exception. I could not put the burger down after the first bite. I also liked getting a taste of the poblano with every bite. After eating half the burger, I decided to try the fries. I enjoyed the slightly crispy exterior and soft interior. They also had the right amount of seasoning, so I was not tasting a bland potato. After finishing The Underdog, I ate as much as the fries as I could.
Once I finished my meal, I saw the bartender approaching the bar. Rather than check on any of the customers at the bar, he headed straight to talk to one of the waitresses. After some time, they interrupted their conversation when a regular sat at the bar by them. Eventually, I did get my check so I could leave.
