"This beautifully restored historic building, once home to both the town jail and the firehouse, sets the stage for generous portions of comfort fare for lunch and dinner every day but Sunday. Try Scranton’s she-crab soup, Bang Bang shrimp or chicken tacos, and pork rinds. Always love a place that offers Zapp’s as a side." - Beth D'Addono

Scranton’s was a fantastic dining experience, and I’ll definitely be back. I tried a little bit of everything—fried pickles, pork rinds, shrimp Alfredo, shrimp tacos, and chicken tenders—and everything was spot on. The fried pickles were crispy with just the right amount of tang, and the pork rinds had a nice crunch. The shrimp Alfredo was creamy and flavorful, while the shrimp taco had a fresh, well-seasoned kick. Even the chicken tenders were impressive—juicy, crispy, and perfectly cooked. What really stood out, besides the food, was the atmosphere. The restaurant’s décor is beautiful, with a mix of historic charm and modern touches that make it feel both cozy and stylish. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to linger a little longer. Great food, great vibe—definitely a spot worth returning to.

Google
The most decadent meal I have had in a while! The fried green tomatoes with sauce appetizer was enough food for a meal and literally so good it brought tears to my eyes. Fried pork chops were tender, juicy, and seasoned perfectly. The homemade mac and cheese is creamy and delicious. I loved the tangy coleslaw, also made in house. The service is attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and the history of the building and the town.

Google
I went to Scranton's wanting a well cooked american meal and I wasn't disappointed. I had the two fried pork chops and they were done excellently as was the Mac and cheese and zucchini and squash saute. The staff was warm and friendly, the restaurant was clean and the food was done well. Definitely recommended if you're in the area and looking for American style food.

Google
Popped in for lunch & what an amazing space!!! Loved all the progression photos framed on the wall, showing the many places it's been over the last 100+ years. Beautifully restored from a fire station, with a few remains from its previous lives, it provided a really cool location to enjoy a beer at one of the bar stools. Staff was super friendly & we noticed several locals coming in for to-go meals & catering. Will definitely check it outfit dinner when we're in the area again.

Google
Loved this restaurant located in a historic building. I was lucky to get a detailed history tour of the building while I was there. They still have the old jail cells located across from the restrooms. Used to be courthouse, clerks office and fire station now converted into restaurant and bar. I had the blackened shrimp and gumbo for lunch which was really great. I enjoyed the food, atmosphere and friendly staff. Thank you for making us feel welcome at your restaurant.

Google
My first time at Scranton’s today was a fantastic experience! I visited the market side of the restaurant (left in the picture), but there is also a historical bar side (right). The environment was very unique, casual, and almost relaxing. The service was great. Being my first time, one of the employees showed me around, and another offered recommendations off of the menu. I got the fried chicken sandwich and fries, and I can easily say that it was one of the best chicken sandwiches I’ve ever had, if not the best. I loved the fries too, and the sweet tea was a little unique but great. I would definitely put Scranton’s in my list of favorite restaurants and I look forward to going back!

Google
Disappointing 1st experience. 2 out of 3 things I wanted to order they were out of. Ended up with the firehouse salad and hamburger steak. Neither was bad, but I wasn't impressed either. The chicken on the salad was a little dry, like it was precooked and had been sitting. Probably should've gone with regular ranch, not a fan of chipotle. The hamburger steak was decent, tender and tasted exactly like you would think. A little heavy on the onions, but not bad. My order had also sat for a few minutes although I was waiting at the bar, and they weren't busy. Kitchen staff handed it to me as they were refilling their drink. The interior itself, the bar portion section at least was warm and cozy. Has an English pub vibe. Didn't have any drinks while I waited this go. They have an interesting menu, and given limited options DT I'd give them another chance.

Google
Scranton’s Restaurant is a perfect combination of historic meets modern-day. A well-preserved, historic firehouse with a bar, a market with prepared food to go, and a delicious menu for dine-in. They even kept the old jail cell in the back as an office. Scranton’s Catering offers exceptional catering options, and you can rent the courtroom for special events.

Yelp
This place is a 42 year staple in Pascagoula. The food was spot on. The service was on point and friendly, and seems to be the type of place where everyone is welcome. My tacos were the best I've ever had. We're definitely going back!

Jen H.

Yelp
Such a great little find.. Service was impeccable, food fantastic!! We had crawfish bread and shared shrimp and grits. BEST shrimp and grits EVER!

Jeanne W.

Yelp
Not if Dan of their new format. I enjoy a waitress and full service but the food is still excellent.

Yelp
Stopped off the freeway to grab lunch here, and it was a great choice. Welcoming environment, extensive menu (something for everyone), outdoor seating. Our vegetarian daughter assembled a lunch of mac and cheese with a side of sautéed crookneck and summer squash. I ordered the chicken and pecan salad which was easily enough for two people, and all components well seasoned individually. Tangy raspberry vinaigrette. The creamed soup was really nice, and we shared some of the house-made chips. Not sure when we'll be back in this neck of the woods but we're glad we stopped here for a healthy lunch. Note: masks or proof of vaxx not required. There is outdoor seating.

Robbie C.

Yelp
I was in town from up north. Looking at houses and checking out the town. This is where I stoped to eat. I ate at the bar. Staff was very nice. The guy who was running the place was nice and pleasant to talk to. I don't remember his name unfortunately. Most importantly the food was amazing! thank you! Will be back again when I'm in town.

Yelp
Scranton's Restaurant is a perfect combination of historic meets modern-day. A well-preserved, historic firehouse with a bar, a market with prepared food to go, and a delicious menu for dine-in. They even kept the old jail cell in the back as an office. Scranton's Catering offers exceptional catering options, and you can rent the courtroom for special events.

Yelp
We enjoyed a relaxing dinner on Scranton's outdoor patio. The fried dill pickles were a big hit but we ate them all before thinking to take a picture. Heather came to welcome us and shared the building's history. We'll be back next time we're in town!

Whitney J.

Yelp
My husband and I evacuated from Hurricane Ida and landed in Pascagoula, MS. We searched Yelp to help determine our Friday night dinner. We selected Scranton's! Could not have made a better pick! From start to finish everything was wonderful. Food and drinks were delicious. Jackson and Ella at the bar were above and beyond the friendliest. If you are looking for a nice evening out with good food, drinks, and atmosphere, check out Scranton's. You won't be disappointed.

Raymond N.

Yelp
Ahh Scranton's. I feel like it's the middle child of the Pascagola, MS lunch scene. Such good food, excellent service, and fair pricing but it always feels overlooked by its more famous brother Bozos and its classier brother Brady's. When you role into the shop you walk into a clean and classy small gourmet store. Here you place your order and pay for your food. I know there are some out there who don't like paying before they eat but allow me to assuage your worries, the food is worth every penny plus tip. After you place your order you are escorted to the side of the restaurant. The front of the house and the actual seating area are pretty different. The front looks newer, clean, and modern. The seating area looks older and cozier. The serving staff is quick an attentive. I've never had a drink be empty or have to wait long for my food. I promise to try more things on the menu whenever I get tired of the bang bang shrimp tacos. I'm not sure when that will be. The tacos are stuffed with fried shrimp, that you are happy that your table has silverware so that you can pick some off before actually eating the taco. The shrimp are covered in the bang bang sauce, which is delicious. If I was left alone in a room with a bottle of that sauce placed in front of me I would drink it with no hesitation. This wonderful spot really deserves more attention than it gets.

Karla M.

Yelp
People here are friendly, this place used to be a fire station back in the 1800's They also have the impossible burger, Heather is the best bartender/ waitress in the whole wide world she is always busy so I couldn't even take a good picture of her.

Yelp
Stopped by The new Scrantons to pick up some grab and go entrees from their cooler. They have some fresh chilled in a cooler and some frozen in a freezer to better meet your need. This is what I wound up getting. Ranking from top to bottom. 1. Chocolate Milk 2. Ice Cream 3. Chicken Salad. Flavor profile was good with varied ingredients and just the right amount of Mayo 4. She Crab Soup. Honestly the Chicken Salad and the soup were the only dishes that were at the Old Scrantons standards. 5. Poppy seed chicken and Mexican Chicken both tasted exactly like someone used canned chicken and minimal seasoning. Cafeteria food. 6. Blackened chicken salad. Cucumbers and tomatoes were added to a lettuce mix that had carrots and cabbage. Blackened chicken was ok. Ranch dressing, while it had a good taste was thin like water. Someone has made the new Scrantons look nice but I'm expecting all the food to be meet or exceed the high standards that have been a staple of the business since it opened. The Dairy products plus the she crab soup and chicken salad will be enough to bring me back, however, until the taste improves on the entrees I'm going to let them slide.

Matthew C.

Yelp
Typically show up here for lunch and the staff is very friendly. They have a monthly menu that always changes. The food is great and and the building itself is a old city building. Very nice feel inside this place. I would recommended you try something from there monthly menu. And also you have to try there home made pork rinds

Jamie G.

Yelp
Yummy Pascagoula staple! Amazingly friendly staff always ready to help! Great drinks, awesome food and a great environment! If you're lucky you can grab a seat outside on a nice day. It will just make you happy.

Rin T.

Yelp
Lovely atmosphere and wonderful and friendly service. The food is amazing, particularly the she crab soup, firehouse chicken sandwich, and bang bang tacos (shrimp or chicken). I always love my meals here and the side of mac and cheese is so big I could eat it as an entree!

Joey A.

Yelp
Good food and even better service. Self-seating in the bar area (this is my favorite room to sit in because it is the original Fire House garage with the garage door still installed). Most of the sauces and deserts are made in-house. They have a regular menu and a monthly specials menu - I recommend getting at least one item from the monthly specials menu. I had the Roasted Red Pepper and Gouda soup, and the Grouper Tacos (both from the monthly specials menu). Total meal with 20% tip was $23; the soup was on the high side as it was $4.99 for a cup, but it was awesome and totally worth the cost. My colleague had the Ruben from the regular menu and he really enjoyed it. If you're in the area, stop by.

Shannon E.

Yelp
We called ahead of time and reserved our space, that was nice. We were promptly seated and serviced. The menu just changed this past Monday; no problem with that either. Our server kept our glasses full of water & coke. The only downside is: we never got her name. Would have liked to personally thank her.

Yelp
For outsiders this place was a bit hard to find since it is buried back off the main road. Eventually you will find it. That is about the worst thing that can be said about this place - everything else they do once you get inside is pretty perfect. I had yelped it in advance and knew it was a safe pick for the evening meal. I checked the menu and already knew what I wanted based on the photos they provide on their website (an excellent touch b-t-dubs.) I was slightly disappointed my advanced research on the $10 happy hour bucket of beers and the "new behind the bar" Abita beers had been for naught. However they did have my desired dinner in stock, so my googlin' and yelpin' had had some legitimate business purpose behind it at the end of the day. This is a typical Southern, neighborhood, charming kind of restaurant. It has history. It has that "slow down and appreciate life" atmosphere. It is not loud and boisterous and impossible to focus in. Even though it has a bar and serves the devil's elixirs, it is still a family-friendly neighborhood restaurant at heart. I liked that. Even though I was mostly here for the devil's elixirs and I am an outsider. The waitress was super friendly. And if she couldn't answer a question she hurried off to get an answer. She had to break the bad news that the $10 bucket of beer no longer existed, or at least tonight and for us. And she had to break the bad news that the Abita brews were disproportionately priced for what they cost to pick up back at Disco Kroger in Houston. But they still did have a Wild Blue 8% ABV beer for $1.50 and a Wild Raspberry 8% ABV beer for $1.50 as well for happy hour. So yeah, awesome price. The beers tasted more like wine coolers than beers, but they were 8% and empty stomach and all that, so it fulfilled its purpose. Fried pickles: $4.25 for a decently sized portion for two people to split. There were leftovers behind. Not sure that is a good thing or a bad thing, or a large portion, but it was an enjoyable fried pickle experience. Black & Bleu salad: $10.75 for a salad so large I could not finish it. Unlike my lunch at Azteca's the salad actually was mostly lettuce which is an important component of a salad I find. The candied pecans were delish. The blackened steak was not kidding about how blackened it was, might scale it back a bit. The blue cheese dressing was one of the highlights besides the pecans. And the cucumber and tomato were important parts of the larger picture. Recommended if you are a traveler passing through town, or if you're a local checking out yelp to try something you have heard about but have not yet given it a try yet. Try it.

Yelp
More flavors than a baskin robins! Everything here is great. Food is savory, service is always great and the portions are perfect. Great place with a rustic feel. I come here for lunch at least once a week. I recommend their fresh pork rinds as an app or with the meal and they have monthly specials that have never left me unsatisfied. Check this place out if you get a chance, you will not regret it!

Melissa D.

Yelp
The bang bang shrimp tacos are the best I have ever had. The 2 tacos had so much shrimp I had to eat off the top before I could pick it up. Fresh and delicious! I don't live in the area, but will make the drive to have those tacos again.

Ariel H.

Yelp
Ordered a blacken shrimp salad for dinner. The flavor is not bad, though dressing is served in the side and not tossed in. Generally reminds me of the food at TGI Friday back home. Restaurant building is the old fire station which makes it pretty neat

Dave D.

Yelp
Fresh seafood platter, very good service at the bar. FRIENDLY Will go back and recommend to others.

John N.

Yelp
Best steaks in downtown Pascagoula! There are 3 entrances to this place (restaurant, bar, back). Walking in the restaurant side, you are greeted by a friendly hostess. The main dining area looks small enough for multiple small groups of 2's & 4's. They can combine the tables if needed. The bar side is called, "The Engine Room". With a full stock of alcohol and spirits to keep you happy. The bar side also have dining tables & booths to enjoy your meals if you choose to order your food there. The backroom is like a banquet room for larger groups. Some reserved events are held there. The men's restroom needs some work / attention, in my opinion. This is the reason why I'm giving this place 4 stars. Because there was some kind of oily slime on the sink faucet that was NOT cool. The staff here are all super nice, energetic and attentive to any and all my questions and concerns. My drink never went below half cup. That's a BIG plus in my book. My waitress was so awesome that I folded a heart out of a dollar and gave it to her as a tip on top of my 50% tip. The food here are most excellent! Traditional American cuisines from steaks, sandwiches to finger food. I ordered their "New York Strip" special & their "seafood stuffed mushrooms". The Seafood Stuffed Mushrooms, again, is the best I had by far. 6 pieces came out hot right out of the oven. It was awesome! The New York Strip is the best I had within walking distance in downtown Pascagoula. With someone without a car to go elsewhere, this place is "the place" to go when you're craving a piece of steak. The steak was cooked to my liking. I asked to have it cooked medium and my hat goes off to the chief. I do have to comment that the Caesar salad, even though the toppings of tomatoes, cucumbers, croutons and hard boiled eggs are delicious and on point, the lettuce did not tasted like it was prepared but more like pre packaged. All and all, if you're looking for a nice place to relax dine and drink. I highly recommend this place.

Richy H.

Yelp
This is my hometown lunch spot. Scranton's, today, is even better than it was 20 years ago. I had a Crawfish eggroll, She Crab Soup, and Apple Pecan Salad. The salad was STELLAR. Everything else was tasty too. The fact that this spot has evolved and thrilled in an industry that is fickle on a good day. Hats off to the Culinary Staff! Also love that they serve Land O'Lakes REAL butter on the table with their Crackers. Top notch experience!

Lauren B.

Yelp
Hands down the salads are awesome. So peaceful, and relaxing . I enjoy the new menus that come out with every month so many new items to try and you want be disappointed.

Jeff K.

Yelp
Good overall. Steak, bean rice sausage, firehouse tacos, all good. Fried oyster platter excellent. Very good craft bottled beer selection. Nice ambience. Bread pudding was great.

Tracey A.

Yelp
We stumbled onto this place by accident after the first three restaurants we tried in the area were either closed or had no tables - and boy, I'm glad we did. Scrantons was once an old firehouse and it has a relaxed feel with friendly servers (at least our server was very friendly). There are lots of seafood options but plenty of other choices if you don't like seafood. I ordered a shrimp Po-boy with a side of their homemade potato chips. Holy cow, their potato chips are to-die-for! And the Po-boy was really good too, with plenty of shrimp. I would definitely bypass any chain restaurant to eat here again.

Dwayne S.

Yelp
Scranton is Pascagoula fine dining. Nestled in the beautiful downtown area of Pascagoula in the old historical firehouse setting the perfect atmosphere for a wonderful meal! Prices are very reasonable and the food is fantastic always served fresh!

Dan D.

Yelp
This place was recommended by a lot of people. I went there with pretty big expectations. I ordered the chicken sandwich and fries they brought me the wrong sandwich and I couldn't even pick it up it was so soggy. Not very impressed to say the least

Anjali M.

Yelp
Not many people know that Pascagoula, MS used to be called Scranton, MS a few decades ago. Oh, you knew that already? My bad. ;) Anyway, Scranton's is a local landmark, being the remains of the local Fire Station in the 1870s, and the City Hall until the 1970s. Now what has this fine establishment become? A restaurant where you can find a congregation of nearly all of the local businessmen during lunchtime. Upon entering the door, you are surrounded by numerous 1920s automobile memorabilia as well as mementos from Pascagoula's rich history. All of the waitresses have been working this restaurant for ages, and know most of the frequenters by name. Often, you can even be lucky enough to chat with the owner who mills around leaking tidbits of historical trivia. Though the menu tends to be relatively standard (a decent selection of po'boys and other sandwiches, salads, steaks, and chicken), the food is ample and tasty. I've been here at least four times, and have never had a bad meal. I especially love the bountiful basket of flavored crackers on every table and the legendary sweet tea. For those of you who love seafood, I have to mention that the fish that is toped with crabmeat and shrimp...talk about loading it with goodies (you know, if you're into that stuff)! I ordered a salad (I know, I know...boooring), but even that was great. On the offchance that you can't decide, just order the special of the day, and you're likely to not go wrong. Oh, and make sure to save room for the Southern desserts!

Amy B.

Yelp
My cousin had her company holiday party here, so we thought it would be a good place to catch dinner while on vacation here. Little did I know I was about to have one of the best meals I've ever tasted. I started out with a bowl of creamy decadent she-crab soup and fresh hot rolls and salad. Then my mom & I both got the daily special which was a big juicy porterhouse pork chop with sweet & tangy bacon honey mustard sauce and white mac' n cheese (also with bacon= win). Kinda hard to find this location without GPS, especially in the dark. Once inside, the atmosphere was quiet & laid-back, set in a local landmark- a building from the 1920's that once was the local Fire Station and the City Hall.

Tam M.

Yelp
I love this place The atmosphere is awesome Nice place for romantic dinner or lunch Price good

Chris H.

Yelp
Ate here for lunch today. Been meaning to try it, but they are closed on the weekends...don't quite comprehend that but it is Pascagoula. Scranton's is named after the city by the same name that merged with three other cities in 1912 after a Chicago~style fire wiped out most of the city infrastructure. Fortunately, the city hall survived and is now the current establishment. For lunch I had the crab cakes with a side of cole slaw. The slaw had a good balance between the tanginess of the sour cream and a slight bite to the cabbage. I was surprised by the size of the two crab cakes. They were more like crab 'cupcakes'. I suppose they were lunch sized if you want to be generous. Based on my other experiences on the coast, however, these were diminutive. To be fair though, I did not end up having enough room to finish my turtle cheesecake. Overall experience was good. Cheesecake was a bit dry, and I'm always suspicious of non~homemade desserts (not quite sure of the identity here). I will consider tagging on another star if subsequent visits turn out better. My partner's gumbo and chicken salad was apparently phenomenal.

Stacy O.

Yelp
Although this place is located inside the old Pascagoula firehouse, the inside could use a bit of an update. I don't mean an overhaul to change the integrity of the historic character, just tweak it a bit! It's been the same for over 20 years!! That being said, the food is decently good & the atmosphere is laid back. You can order from the permanent menu or the seasonal menu. There are different little sections/rooms to be seated in or you can sit in the bar. You may get lucky with plaza parking or you can park in one of the couple parking lots at the west end of the plaza. Trivia:: Downtown Pascagoula use to be a town called Scranton, MS until the two towns merged in 1912.

Xenia W.

Yelp
My favorite place to eat in Pascagoula! My family and I happened to stumble across it a few years back after deciding we did not want to eat at the various chain restaurants located near our hotel. Nestled in the downtown area, this restaurant is inside an old historic building between a few cute little boutiques and art galleries. Each time I'm there I always find something new and interesting about the inside of the building to look at. My expectations have always been exceeded each time I have eaten here. The staff is very friendly, the service is fast, and the food is great! They have a mix of traditional American as well as some local seafood and Cajun flavors. I have been lucky enough to have been passing through a couple times when they have trivia night at the bar which is a lot of fun. This restaurant is definitely worth the visit if you are passing through and do not mind driving a couple miles off the interstate.

Samuel O.

Yelp
Good service! Excellent fried oysters and side dishes. The big negative was the fried shrimp! On the Mississippi Gulf Coast, shrimp are cheap and plentiful. Yet, Scranton's chose to serve up tiny, obviously frozen fried shrimp.

Elena M.

Yelp
We ended up eating at Scranton's twice during our recent visit to MS. We were very satisfied both times. My husband and I had lunch here one day. We were excited to order the deep fried pickles since our favorite local place that served these closed several months ago and we'd been having a collective hankerin' for some. Scranton's version did not disappoint. My husband ordered the Atlantic Salmon Sandwich. The piece of fish was HUGE, especially considering the very reasonable price at which it was offered. He reports it was quite delish. I had the Blackened Chicken Sandwich, which was just about the best blackened anything this northern girl has ever had. (Too often, folks seem to think "blackened" has to mean "so hot you can hardly taste it"; Scranton's version, on the other hand and while certainly packing a punch, focused more on the overall spice and not just the heat.) We came back for dinner a couple of days later, this time accompanied by my husband's (adult) daughter. We all ordered entrée salads that were full of fresh, crispy vegetables and topped with various tasty meats. Our server was super friendly and kept checking in on us (without making us in any way feel rushed) while we sat gabbing away long after we'd finished our meals. Oh, did I mention the really cute decor at Scranton's and the restaurant's overall homey and comfortable feel? We very much enjoyed both our visits to Scranton's and will definitely return the next time we are in MS.

June C.

Yelp
Fantastic place! Lots of atmosphere, friendly service and great food! The building still houses the old jail, old vault from its days as City Hall, and lots of memorabilia. The staff made sure the children in our party got to see everything, as well as providing the usual services. All 9 of us agreed the food is wonderful, too. I highly recommend the blackened shrimp spinach salad! We will be back!

Sharon B.

Yelp
I invited an out of town relative for dinner. We had checked the internet for available menu items before going to the restaurant. Upon arrival ask for fried green tomatoes, nope we don't have those, ask for stuffed baked shrimp, nope we don't have those, asked for another dish, nope we don't serve that anymore. I ordered she crab soup; the worst ever, the bits of crab were dried out as if being from a carton of frozen crab meat, not fresh at all. Was able to retrieve the cost of that. So disappointing for a local home town dining experience.

Frank A.

Yelp
This place is great! Ambiance is laid back and welcoming. Gumbo was tasty. "The Catch" was wonderful- the Cajun fish was tasty and juicy, the vegetables were cooked just right - not greasy and still a little crunchy. The rice was not as good as the veggies and fish but was tasty. Service was slow, but this was because one server was handling all the tables in that area of the restaurant. Cassidy was great - she had a smile on while handling all her tables and made sure our drinks were full. She even gave me a to-go glass of Diet Coke without me asking! I will definitely be back here the next time I am in Pascagoula!

Kiana D.

Yelp
I found this place on Yelp and went there today. The restraunt is in downtown Pascagoula, really cute little setup. The service & food were great! Between the three of us that went, we ordered red beans and rice, the bacon cheeseburger, and a shrimp poboy, all were really good and there was plenty of it. We got the food within 5 minutes of ordering. Very satisfied and still full :)

Joey B.

Yelp
Showed up unannounced on a late Friday night with a rambunctious 10/11 year old boys basketball team and parents. The entire staff was courteous, professional and very tolerant of the chaos! Food was great, service was great, overall awesome experience! Will most definitely be back!

Bill G.

Yelp
Great seafood and the most historic setting anywhere. The staff is so friendly and they want to make sure you leave full and happy. And you will!

Tina M.

Yelp
Lacy was an awesome server. Very attentive and made sure we had everything when our meal was brought out. The 8 strip bacon grilled cheese sandwich is my personal go too!! I had the loaded baked potato soup- delicious. We will be back!

Kelly B.

Yelp
wonderful food and service every time we visit never a problem for scrantons restaurant to please the crowd !!!!!

Cynthia L.

Yelp
Since we had been going from our first visit they changed the menu and sometimes they don't pay attention to what is on it themselves, your not always getting what it says as much as I guess what they have on hand, want to give you. Our very first visit was great! Only on a weekday, they cater and are closed on weekends. I really liked their gumbo but is inconsistent, have gotten it every time since that first visit, been different each time. I had the, they call it Robert's bread now, which at other places I've had it, it's suppose to be loaded craw-fish bread. Theirs was some tomato paste topped bread with melted cheese and not even a 1 craw-fish on it, was disappointed and sent it back. Had a club salad on my last visit and did not get everything on it that was listed on the menu, we will not be back anytime soon. Service was OK and in time if I hear they start doing better by the food may visit again. Is out of the way to go to and as it has history it also has the local loiters at the bar, adult enjoyment atmoshpere/ambiance. None of our visits seen anyone with their kids, something i thought should be noted.

Yelp
In old firehouse in Pascagoula. Excellent food. Tried them for both lunch and dinner. What first got my attention was the quality of the lunch appetizer crabcakes. My sister makes the best crabcakes. Scranton's crabcakes are in the same exalted class. Loved the little pieces of green, red and yellow bell peppers in them. Good service; nice local interest atmosphere.

Yelp
This was a nice experience. The service was good, the menu limited and the place was inviting.

Yelp
After spending summer 2010 working in Pascagoula I frequented Scrantons several times since it was next door to our office. Excellent restaurant with a variety of items. I haven't had one meal I didn't like! The lunch specials are great and reasonably priced. The staff is extremely friendly and the service is fast! One of the few reasons to stop by in P-goula!

Yelp
Had a business dinner there last night. The building is a converted firehouse from the 1800's and has the ambience of the history of the town in simpler days. (That's a good thing) The place was busy so we were able to put tables together in the Bar to accommodate. The attentive staff did let us know in advance that smoking is allowed in the bar and we chose anyway. It was not an issue. Items ordered were the Shrimp and grits, Tuna steak, crab cakes, stuffed shrimp. No complaints. Everyone enjoyed the southern style prepared meals. I can speak personally for the stuffed shrimp and steamed Veggies. Delicious and the way they should be. Prices were right, food was hot and good and our server was attentive and very friendly. Next trip to Pascagoula, I will return.

Yelp
This is a local favorite but I'm not really sure why. When I eat here I have the BBQ pork sandwich which is wonderful. I've had the crab bisque which was gross and have also had the red pepper gouda soup which tasted alot like tomato sauce from a jar. The service is ok. If it wasn't for the pork sandwich I wouldn't bother.
