We had an absolutely fantastic experience at Scratch Kitchen & Cocktails - Norman! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm, modern, and welcoming. You can immediately tell this place takes pride in what they do. The food was outstanding. Everything truly tastes like it’s made from scratch with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Each dish was flavorful, beautifully presented, and thoughtfully prepared. You can taste the difference in every bite. The portions were generous without being overwhelming, and the menu offers a great variety so there’s something for everyone. The cocktails were just as impressive — perfectly balanced and crafted with care. It’s the kind of place where you can enjoy a relaxed dinner but still feel like you’re having a special night out. Service was top-notch as well. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely appreciated. If you’re in Norman and want amazing food, drinks, and service, Scratch Kitchen is an easy five stars. We’ll definitely be back!

This restaurant was recommended and my husband remembered eating here on his previous visit to Norman. The atmosphere is very casual. We chose to sit in the outside area. Service was good. I chose simple grilled chicken with fries. My husband had the blackened chicken with truffle fries. All were cooked nicely and delicious.

The atmosphere of this place is really neat. When our appetizer came out, they left the food, and walked away without giving us plates or even silverware. We had to stop someone and ask for it. The server was very sweet, but we only saw her 3 times during our whole meal, and it was us stopping her, not her coming to us. The food was decent, but definitely not special enough to warrant such prices! There are also no signs stating they allow pets inside, and a young couple was seated next to us, with their dog. NOT a service dog. Just a pet that was running around their table. Completely off putting. This is a neat enough place, I guess. But once is definitely enough!

Atmosphere is nice, but nothing really special. Service was absolutely outstanding. We had a great waiter who was extremely attentive. Food was not at all good. Extremely overcooked and served at room temperature. I honestly have no idea how they managed to do so badly. The food came out quickly. There was no reason it should’ve been cold. Pricing is a little on the high side but to be expected for the area. $15 was the base price for a basic hamburger. Overall, I gave it to two but only for the kitchen side. The bar side appeared to be pretty nice and where they were focusing their efforts. I do not recommend.

Great place right off main. Good drink options. The dinner rolls are Kings Hawaiian. It looked like they were microwaved instead of put in an oven so they were chewy. The pork loin was delicious and the risotto was great. Their smash burger was delicious as well. The friend green tomatoes were good but cooked a little too long. The batter was more burnt than crispy. Over all not a bad place to eat in downtown Norman.

Oh man, the food and atmosphere is great here. Started with margaritas and spinach dip. Our main courses were prime filet with brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes, burgundy braised no name beef with honey glazed carrots and mashed potatoes. We finished the meal with peach cobbler and creme brulee. Great evening, very good food and drinks.

For some reason, this fine establishment expects DoorDashers to provide information on what drinks guests order versus printing completed tickets for crew to prepare in advance. I recommend programming your printers to show complete orders instead of expecting us to do your work for you. We are there with specific pickup times. Having to provide drink information from our end delays us and creates issues with our work. Do better. Will not ever give this place business due to lack of brainpower when it comes to assisting their third party delivery couriers.

We went there twice and enjoyed it each time except for one thing. Unfortunately each time the service was somewhat slow. But the people working there are nice so for me the slow service was not a huge problem. The food was good each time. I did prefer the meatloaf over the Cubano sandwich, but I would order either one in the future. I really like the atmosphere. Both times we went on a Monday afternoon so it wasn't loud or crowded. I recommend this restaurant ☺️

Interior- the entire place looks like a social media post with intention out behind creating memoeable moments of togetherness, laughter, and selfies. Lots of faux foliage and neon cursive isms on the walls. We sat at the bar, which gave a beautiful display of the spirits inventory. The menu gave so many good savory options for the Fall weather from pork to beef to seafood, and appeared to feature mushrooms in a lot of their dishes. The bartender said he just started, so we knew to expect novice service. We had to flag him down for every order with only 4 people at the bar and when another staff member came back to help, neither of them could answer questions about the menu items such as whether or not the risotto had mushroom chunks in it. Fried green tomatoes - The plating speaks for itself, so I'll leave that to the readers' discretion. This a favorite for me wherever I go, but this was so bland, I was confused by the lack of flavor medley you usually get with this mixture. It appeared to have pepper seeds but I couldn't find any to determine what they were using for the heat component. They might have opted not to include a pepper. It was entirely watery and watered down. The tomatoes were breaded with more flour than cornmeal, which is fine, but we couldn't figure out what they were seasoned with. With the amount of water left around the slice causing a hard to cut, I stopped at one. This appetizer is served with your option of pimento cheese or black bean corn salsa. We chose the salsa, which is comprised of black beans, corn, tomato, red onion and traces of maybe cilantro or parsley. The buttermilk ranch has something like dill or similar note added into it, which helped make up for the lack of flavoring, but didn't cover the problematic bite. But let's get into the exciting stuff: We ordered the 4 dishes that stood out most based on sides pairings. Meatloaf: a slice of dense, somewhat mushy meatloaf loaded with flavor and topped with heat in the form of a tomato base sauce. It is mentioned on the menu that the space is spicy, but it really give us a surprising heat that balances well with the sweetness and savory notes. It was served on a plateau of red creamed potatoes. Listed as mashed, but definitely creamed. The potatoes mix very well with the flavor able oils from the meatloaf. This dish is also served with a seasonal vegetable which turned out to be eggplant and red bell pepper. I ended up picking out the red bell pepper to add to the risotto that came with the pork loin and leaving the eggplant. Pork tenderloin - encrusted with coffee grounds - a very interesting take on slow cooked pork. The risotto was creamy and soaked up the flavor from the tenderloin, which made for a wonderful infusion. Chicken Alfredo - this creamy dish was an easy fall weather pick. We took this home and the reheat was even thicker and flavorful from the seasoning and juices on the chicken. Salmon - this was served on a bed of thick, hearty risotto with lemon-fried Brussels sprouts. You can't taste lemon, so I think the acidity might have helped balance the Brussels as they cooked down. I prefer a crispy Brussels, so not my cup of tea, but the flavor was nice with the salmon's seasoning. Overall, the service, plating, and quality testing could improve the experience, but I don't want that to overshadow the incredible flavor pairings the kitchen put out for this first visit. Very much looking forward to returning for the next menu turnover to see what amazing plates Scratch will create

I just had dinner with my wife and son who's stationed out here and was very impressed. Madison was our server and she never let a glass sit empty and made sure that we were always squared away. The atmosphere has a great vibe with a mixed crowd. I will this place a regular stop when visiting OKC.

Awesome restaurant that used to have a location on Shartel in OKC but that location closed down. A new restaurant location has opened in Norman, and they have great beverages, alcoholic and non-alcoholic alike, including a mean Arnold Palmer with honey. The Scratch Hawaiian rolls are soft and pillowy, their tomato basil soup is great and their blackened catfish on top of risotto with charred Brussels sprouts are excellent. Exceptional and attentive service, and roomy plus stylish interior that may have been the historic Bell Telephone switch building. Definitely recommended!

Easy Saturday breakfast stop. We arrived right at 9 when they opened with no wait. Meal came out quickly and service was kind. I would for sure stop by again and try something different. I prefer avocado toast that has mashed avocados as it's just easier to eat and you get the same avocado in each bite - but my only change as this place has it all.

It's a rare occasion we are out for brunch and since we're out of towners, we decided to pop in to see what this place was all about. Sure glad we did! First we were sat right away! The place we tried to go for breakfast right before this place told us we had to wait 30-50 minutes. Not only were we greeted by friendly waitstaff, they gave wonderful recommendations. Without much hesitation, we ordered the botanas and hangover hash. Boy they both were delicious and beautifully plated. Needless to say we finished quickly and were back on the road in a jiffy. We'll definitely stop by the next time we drive in this area!

First time here and it was great. Restaurant was very clean and the staff was super nice. Certain cocktails are on happy hour so that's a plus! Will definitely be back

I think Teddy and I may have found our new weekend lunch spot. Scratch not only has a dog friendly patio that is adorable, they have a dog friendly menu. Teddy has dementia and hip dysplasia so it's getting harder and harder to leave him alone at home. Being able to take him on car rides to cute coffee shops and restaurants when it's too hot to hit the park has been a game changer and has brought us closer together. That being said, not only am I stoked to find a new restaurant that allows my pup, but the service, ambiance and food are impeccable. It's cute indoors also from what I could tell, but the patio is colorful and they had an indie playlist circa 2010 playing. I ordered the Sriracha Caesar Salad with Grilled Shrimp and it was one of the best Caesars I've had in a long time. The lettuce was crisp, the cheese and dressing weren't overpowering and the shrimp was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. It wasn't tough or chewy and burst with flavor. My waitress checked on us frequently.

I have been going here for years. Great place for a good drink and some good food. This time however, they have added Gumbo to the menu. From someone that has been to the bayou more times than I can count, I will whole heartedly say this dish took me back there! This was some of the best Gumbo I've had since my last trip to New Orleans. I would say this is a must try on their menu if you like Cajun food!!

Great food & excellent service! Sat at the bar quickly & had a really great cocktail, Dark Fantasy. Burger was good, but I forgot that--out West--well-done is the norm. Still: tasty with crispy shoestring fries. Nice chill ambiance, too.

Since our son lives in Norman, we asked him where to go for brunch, we are glad we did. The hostess said it would be a 45 minute wait, we didn't have to wait that long. I'm sorry I don't remember our server's name (she's from England), but she did an outstanding job. We started off with drinks, black coffee, 2 flatliners and a mimosa. They were soooo good. For an appetizer we got the basket of biscuits with house made jams. So soft and buttery. My mother in law had a short stack with eggs and bacon, my husband had the french toast with banana caramel sauce, our son had the breakfast tacos and I had the country fried steak and eggs with their house made ketchup(so tasty). We will definitely be back to try some of their other entrees.

Norman, OK Mixed emotions here. The Bar was great, service and Drinks really good, 5-Star. Would have expected to see college aged bar staff, but these were seasoned bar keeps imo. Not often does the bartender crack an egg to get the whites. The food however was average at best, the étouffé was just awful. It's impossible that someone tried this dish and deemed it acceptable. No exaggeration here, one of the most flavorful less dishes I've ever had. And in a dish that generally has a lot of flavor. Can't even say it was bad as it had Zero taste. The salmon sandwich was average... crabcakes-below average.

The food was very good. Blackened catfish and Meatloaf. Great service but most importantly the "food" was awesome. Grin. Highly recommend

Always a nice place to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, watch a football game, meet new friends at the bar, great food, service, friendly smiles with greetings. Champagne , mixes, cocktails, bourbon, scotch, vodka ect.. Nice selection. Ambiance is nice, not crowed seating. They do have big booths too, for bigger groups. A must try restaurant on Main St in Norman. Convenient location for Friday ART Walks, Dining & Shopping

I don't know if I'll go back. We really wanted to try the pickles but they were out. That would be a reason to return at least once. We went for dinner service. We sat at a high top near the bar . It was a decent enough atmosphere but nothing exciting. Our server was very nice. I was not impressed with the items I ordered. It's almost like the kitchen doesn't taste what they're sending out. Maybe my expectations were too high for a place named Scratch? The ranch was good! That's where the positive experience halted with the food. The bean and corn salsa seemed like cans dumped into spongy diced tomatoes with zero seasoning. The fried tomatoes themselves were also not seasoned? My entree, the creole seafood pasta was odd. The pasta was fresh but overcooked and just seconds from being mush. Both the shrimp and crawfish were tasteless. The sauce had a hint of spice but that's it. Again there seemed to be no additional seasoning but garlic that I think may have come from the bread? It was a completely joyless meal. There was no love coming from the kitchen.

Service was great! Drinks were good. Hawaiian rolls appetizer were boarder-line burnt Got the Hawaiian burger was soggy and not good fries were cold. Also ordered the seafood pasta it was watery and 0 flavor. Will not come back

I had the absolute pleasure of being served by Maxine at Scratch Kitchen, and she made my birthday dinner so great. From the moment we were seated, she was friendly, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful. Her menu suggestions were spot on she clearly knows and loves the food here. The highlight of the evening was her recommendation of the key lime pie for dessert. Honestly, one of the best I've ever had. Thank you, Maxine, for going above and beyond. You turned a great meal into a memorable experience!

Great atmosphere and cocktails. Service was also good. My entrée; however, was terrible. The potatoes were over salted and the Corn & Crab Cake Melt was absolutely disgusting. It was a sloppy mess and way too fishy. Also, I was not impressed with the addition of mozzarella cheese on top of the buried crab cake. It did the dish no favors. If you do come out for brunch, please try the Chicken Fried Steak. Grabbed a piece off my husband's plate and it was incredible.

First time visiting Scratch. Over all experience was fair. Little bummed out as a few items we tried to order they were out of. The food made up for it though. Appreciate the gluten free options and will give another shot.

First time there and Rose our server was outstanding. The food was okay but we will not be returning. The atmosphere was cool and probably a great place for cocktails and appetizers.

Horrible food. Low quality and stale. The cocktail wasn't well mixed either. This is not fine dining. It's ugh dining at best...

There is street parking around the restaurant but depending on what is going on it might be a bit of trek. The entry is small but cute. It has a fun vibe inside. We did have a reservation and so we were seated quickly for our party of 4. The server was attentive throughout our meal with refills and drink orders. Everyone enjoyed their food, presentation was good. I had the steak with truffle fries and Brussel sprouts. The flavor was excellent for the Brussel sprouts. The truffle fries flavor was more subtle. The steak was cooked perfectly. We tried several seasonal drinks and I kept to the gin selection of the aviation and slip and slide. The aviation was excellent but the slip and slide had too much of a cucumber flavor for me. We were too full for desserts. My only critique was that it got super hot at one moment (at first I wasn't sure if it was a hot flash but it wasn't just me- thank goodness) but it eventually cooled back down.

We stopped by for drinks with friends. Excellent service, atmosphere, and value. Can't wait to try a meal there!

Nice place to go for lunch. This was my second visit. The restaurant was not busy at all. It has a cute hipster aesthetic in my opinion. Cute places for some photo ops with friends. Nice for a date night or a bite to eat with friends. They are known for their old fashions and home made ketchup. My group came here for lunch and we had a good experience overall the food was tasty the company was good and the playlist kept us bopping. Looking forward to the next visit.

Something has happened to this location and I hope they are able to turn it back around. We won't know. We won't be back. Expensive with low quality food. We obviously did not eat our food and they just gave us our bill and didn't ask or offer any thing different, but they were willing to serve it as it appears also. Appetizer was burnt and cold .... Everything else was either burnt or uncooked or looked like it dried out sitting at the bottom of the pan all day.

This is the only place in Norman to go for crispy bacon on your burger. Their kitchen and bar staff is so attentive, that you will get the perfect drink and the perfect main course. I take out-of-towners here to impress them, while also making sure I am well fed. Food presentation is outstanding, but the taste even exceeds the presentation. You cannot find a better menu in Norman.

My husband and I went to dinner last night at Scratch for date night around 8:00pm. We waited 10 minutes for a table and then were seated in a corner booth. We waited for 15 minutes without anyone coming to our table to at least bring water and take our drink order. As many servers and wait staff scurried past our table, we attempted several times to get their attention but no one never acknowledged us. We ended up leaving.

Drinks and food are delicious. Maxine was our waitress, she was amazing and made great dinner recommendations. Definitely will be back next time we are in town.

Great food! I had the cajun pasta, and my wife had the pancetta wrapped chicken breast. We started off with the spinach dip. The spinach dip tasted so fresh and homemade. The picture we posted doesn't do it justice, because I had to taste it, then my wife said "pictures!" Oops. My cajun pasta was great. Perfect flavor. It had a good amount of crawfish and shrimp. My wife's chicken and the parmesan risotto were out of this world, too. Our waiter was very attentive, friendly, and gave great suggestions. The atmosphere was great for a date night. Slightly dimmed, but not too dark. Seating areas were beautiful, with beautiful fabrics on the seat backs of the booth part of the table. Place settings were perfect. The artwork in our spot had some nice abstract art. I highly recommend this spot, and we will be back.

I went to Scratch for the first time today with a friend and it was fantastic! High-quality food, delicious drinks, fantastic vibe, and our waitress, Catie B, was so helpful and friendly!! I have a gluten sensitivity and very much appreciated the clearly marked menu, wide variety of gluten-free options, and the very clear caveat of what might be contaminated, etc. I definitely plan on going back. We walked in on a Saturday so we knew we had to wait a bit. I wasn't sure why it took a so long considering we were the only people waiting for a table but it was fine. We waited about 30 min for a heated patio seat. They sat us at a plastic table right next to a large party which was very loud and drunk. The heated patio was more like a dark wind tunnel which was cold and made everything echo, we could barely hear each other. The large party kept spreading out and standing next to our table making it very hard to enjoy our meal. They finally left after we finished eating. I'm not sure why we had to wait so long for this awful seat. If such a large party was there they should have sat us inside. Disappointed because the food was good but the experience was so bad that we will not be back

We were on the way home from a trip and decided to stop at this random little place, it was super cute, we sat outside because it was so nice out but both the inside and out had a great vibe to them! The service was amazing! Our waiters name was Tony, he greeted us first with some warm towels for our hands, definitely was not expected, but a nice surprise, he was an amazing waiter and everything came out in a very timely manner, faster than we expected. The worker that brought out our food to us was also awesome, very sweet girl also made sure that we had everything we needed and treated us like we were her own table! There was not a time where I needed some thing or somebody and couldn't find someone, the staff looked ready to help out in anyway needed whether it was a bus boy, food runner, waiter, or manager. My only downside to this experience, unfortunately was the food, we got the pimento cheese wontons, they definitely were not bad, but not something I would order again. It was my first time trying these not sure if they're just not my cup of tea. We also got the mac & cheese burger and the pimento chicken sandwich. I was disappointed in the chicken sandwich because you couldn't really taste the pimento at all, and I don't think the chicken had much flavor to it. I do want to say everything we ordered came looking amazing and was plated very well. I personally did not care much for the burger, but my fiancé enjoyed it very much and the bacon brussels sprouts are to die for give them a try!

Despite the sign on their door we spent our entire brunch in a cloud of cigarette smoke on their enclosed patio. I asked if smoking was allowed and no one knew if it was allowed or not. They said they would address it but did not and the table continued to smoke. We had a child with us. If we would have known we were to sit in the smoking section of this restaurant, we would have sat inside. Very unpleasant experience.

Went here for a family outing and had an awful experience. The food was flavorless no one finished their meal, ended up giving the food to the dog. All of the drinks were just awful, lacked flavor and most importantly alcohol. I will admit the atmosphere is very nice with a closed in pet friendly patio, however the sevice was AWFUL. We had a young blonde male waiter who would disappear for 15-20 minutes at a time and come back saying he "got caught up" meanwhile the place was not full at all and when we went to the bathroom most of the servers were sitting down in a booth. Would not recommend this place to anyone for a good drink, decent food or good service. Also extremely pricey to have such poor dishes.

Food was less than mediocre. All of our entrees were poorly cooked, like the kitchen just did not care. My biscuits were the opposite of soft and fluffy and their "famous fried chicken" was rubbery with not an inch of crispiness or tenderness. And they didn't have decaf coffee. Go to the stupid store!!! This place came highly recommended so I know they can do better. They just chose not to today.
