A big group of us stopped in around 8:45 after a birthday dinner on a Wednesday night. The shop is located in a pretty busy area of Olde Town, and was actually pretty packed when we walked in. There was either some sort of event going on nearby, or I just haven't been to that part of town in too long, but it's completely BLOWN UP.
Anyway, it's been a long time since I've been in a candy/ice cream shop like this. It totally brought me back... holy nostalgia! The place is overflowing with tons of different kinds of candy, toys, and trinkets. It reminds me of all the times I so desperately wanted to wander around candy shops like this one as a kid.
There's also a bunch of super rad artwork all over the place that's available for purchase - I ended up getting two super awesome prints for $20 a piece - and buying them totally supports local artists, which I love.
Now to the fun part: ice cream! The selection isn't crazy diverse, although I'm not sure if flavors rotate often, but what they had to offer looked super yummy! I ended up getting a huge scoop of chocolate praline ice cream in a chocolate dipped waffle cone, and it was BOMB. A couple other people in our group got the green tea ice cream and mint chocolate ice cream, which they seemed to enjoy; another got the wildberry flavor, and unfortunately, he didn't like it at all. Despite that, for the amount of goodness they stuff in the cones and cups, it's actually pretty cheap - mine came out to $5 and change (before I decided to get the prints!) - so you'll definitely get what you pay for and more!
The guys at the counter were extremely patient, very friendly, and super polite; as I said, the place was full of people, but not one time during my visit did I see or experience anything but positive attitudes. I know can be very challenging in the hustle and bustle type scenario, and it was so awesome and very pleasant to interact with them... even after I made a split second decision to buy my second print and had the gentleman run into the back for a second time to get it... not once did I ever feel rushed, nor did I ever feel like anyone was irritated or annoyed by the long line of people (including me!) that seemed to be crazy indecisive when they walked up to the counter.
Overall, I loved my experience here. I'm typically not a fan of crowds, but this was an exception; I didn't even seem to notice how many people were there that night, which is super surprising! I'll definitely be back.
