Mr. Chow Malibu and Chez Melange Redondo Beach Add to LA’s Closure List - Eater LA

"Chez Melange is the work of partners Robert Bell and Michael Franks, who opened the restaurant on Catalina Avenue in 1982 with the idea of providing affordable takes on American and European staple dishes. Over the years the whimsical menu moved in and out of fashion, turning to burgers, Asian flavors, craft beer, an oyster bar, and more. More recently the restaurant split into a sub-space known as Bouzy Gastropub as a way to lean into the everyday burger and drinks fare, and offered a more elevated seafood-focused fine dining experience inside under the name Sea Change as well." - Farley Elliott

I was craving for good steak, thanks god we found this place! I ordered the pan grilled foie gras filet mignon...words can't discribe how delicous it is. Hubby ordered Special Sunday Prime Ribs, with $36 for 16oz of juicy and tender piece of steak I think it's worth every penny. The side dish came with it was sauteed kale - surprisingly tasty. I'm not a kale person but they have changed my mind. Highly recommend!

They have excellent wine dinners that are multi-course meals with a different wine for each course. Each course has food designed to pair with the wine. The food and the wines were superb. They also have a parking garage that allows you to not park on the street. A large dinning room is at the back and the pub area is at the front.

I thought the menu was very reasonably priced for being this close to the beach! Friendly and knowledgeable staff. The food was quite good but just a tad on the salty side.

Good food & great ambiance. I ordered the Pastrami sandwich and it was good.

We started coming here because of the reputation of Chez Melange. But, I actually love the patio, which is also dog-friendly. Plenty of cocktails, beers and wines to choose from. My favorite is the fried chicken salad--good portion size. Happy hour is great. Good tacos and homemade burgers (order a couple!). Friendly owner and wait staff. Free parking in the adjacent structure. No need to worry about meters

I ordered the porterhouse steak and I have to say that it was fantastic. One of the best steaks that I have ever had, I literally could cut it with my fork it was that tender, and it was equally juicy and flavourful. The food here doesn't disappoint. I wish they had a stout available, they only have Old Speckled Hen and I would prefer not to drink it. Other than every meal here is quite enjoyable, and the staff here are terrific.

great selection of local ingredients with a great mix of flavors. menu changes daily. they walked by with a raw fish cart that was a sneaky way to get us to add a few oysters to our order (well worth it, by the way). the menu when we visited was a bit heavy on the pork selections, but had a modest variety of fish and good range of other meats too. a few vegetarian options. overall a great meal one block from a wonderful beach to walk along.

We went on a Saturday night for my girlfriends birthday. And it was excellent. It felt like a 4.5 or 5 star restaurant. Very nice and clean, white linen table cloths. The food was excellent. We had duck, and the scallops. All the sides were good as well.
