Yelp
I really wanted to like this one. It's brand new and so close to where I live. But the truth is we had an amazingly average meal, and that's being fairly generous, truth be told.
I'm a big fish and chips guy, so I went with my standard. They were the dictionary definition of 'meh'. They certainly weren't bad, just incredibly unmemorable. What was bad was the tartar sauce. It basically tasted like Miracle Whip with a bit of relish. Very disappointing.
Speaking of, my dining companions both got crab rolls. They were a joke. You couldn't even see what little crab was in there. The sandwich filling had been whipped into an unrecognizable mush, and both my friends told me they couldn't locate any crab within. They said it just tasted like bread and mayonnaise. The cost of these sandwiches? $35 each.
You might say, well, you didn't order the crab boil, which is what the restaurant is known for. You'd be right, but the table next to us did, and they politely told the waitress that it was completely devoid of flavor. They clearly were not enjoying their ($100+) meal, either, so I don't feel like I missed much.
I'm giving them points because the service was very warm and friendly, my fish and chips weren't out and out terrible, and they were very new at the time. Growing pains aren't uncommon in any new restaurant, and I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt.
