Where to Eat Calamari in Monterey County | Eater

"Also in Moss Landing, this casual counter-order restaurant sits just north of Elkhorn Slough, making it a convenient spot to grab a bite to eat after kayaking or strolling nearby. Snack on some barbecue oysters or crab cocktail, then move onto a wide range of seafood you can order fried, grilled, or broiled. The calamari steak grilled with butter and garlic is served with your choice of clam chowder, salad, vegetables, rice pilaf, fries, or a baked potato. Sea Harvest also has locations in Monterey and the Carmel Crossroads." - Annalise Mantz

Really enjoyed my lunch here. Service was very friendly, seafood was super flavorful & fresh, and felt like you had a lot of food for a good price. Ordered from the broiler - received baked potato, side salad, and broccoli with the fish. They have a really good seafood display with a wide variety of fish fillets, whole fish, mussels, and large oysters to take home. I liked how they had local wild options. Big parking lot. Would recommend!

Google
This is a great place if you are looking for fresh and reasonably priced seafood. My husband ordered the grilled sea bass with a side of rice and steamed vegetables and a cup of clam chowder soup. I had their special which was the grilled black cod with the same sides as my husband's. That cup of clam chowder was packed with lots of creamy goodness and bits of clams. The cod was fresh and cooked perfectly and so was the black cod. Everything was so good!

Came to the area for hiking, and after the meal was perfect. Fast service with a menus that didn’t leave me overwhelmed. The fried portion of the menus is quite good, but the soups were not out of this world. The prices are fair not amazing, but the atmosphere is so cute! I would totally come back for a casual date night or with family!

My husband recommended we go to Sea Harvest for an early dinner after a long day of hiking the Big Sur 🥾!! From the entrance of the restaurant, I was really excited about the vibes and the food that was to come. The décor was perfect for a fresh seafood and farm-to-table restaurant. The space is designed with a wonderful authentic blend of fresh seafood market and casual coastal dining 😍. The menu has a great range of freshly prepared seafood. My husband loved the clam chowder, and I LOVED the Sea Harvest Cioppino. The atmosphere is laid-back with a local feel, and the service is great! Cannot wait to go back the next time I visit Carmel.

We had some fresh fish from here. Was hoping for the most epic selection of LOCAL fish. The most recommended items were the Alaskan halibut and king salmon. We came away with the Alaskan halibut and the local sea bass. Both were fantastic. A little confusion over a couple of things. The selection is mostly not local. All fresh. But there were probably a handful of things that were local. And then, there wasn’t anything clear about dining options. So my understanding might be fuzzy, but it looks like 1) one price for takeaway, 2) a different price for takeaway but they cook it, and a 3) price for dine in. We thought we could buy it for takeaway and have them cook it. But when we decided at the last moment to have a seat at a table, the waiter looked so confused as to why we wanted to sit. He responded with something like, “service price”. He also said different menu. Wish someone was able to explain that when we arrived.

Food was good. Bit pricey but considering the location it is understandable. Good experience though. They forgot to serve our bread but was brought in when I asked about it. Place is unique with seafood market inside. Clean and well lighted. Nice dor dates or family gatherings. Restroom is outside the restaurant.

Google
The food is good at Sea Harvest, but be aware that each of the Sea Harvest restaurants are different. While the Carmel Valley restaurant has table service, which is nice, the shrimp & crab Louie at the Moss Landing restaurant is a bit better providing hard boiled egg & more dressing.

Google
Cute spot! The food was definitely on the pricier side compared to the portion sizes, but at least you can tell it’s fresh. I had the scallops with fries & clam chowder, and my husband had the sea bass with wild rice & salad—both were cooked pretty basic. Paid almost $90 (tips included) for two entrées.

Yelp
Food was delicious! Atmosphere was great. Parking was easy to do and close. Recommend this place for good cooked fish and Clam Chowder

Yelp
They handle a busy crowd like pros. Please remember there is also outside seating - so plenty of seating for everyone! My husband and I don't like shrimp but took the risk at the one place that could probably make it to perfection. We were not disappointed- great fried fish of all varieties- highly recommend!! Trust your senses- as you walk back you will be lulled by their delicious smelling food. Trust those instincts! We will be back at our next visit to Monterey!

Yelp
Sea Harvest Fish Market & Restaurants is a decent spot for a casual seafood meal. I ordered the fish and chips they were fine, nothing out of this world, but cooked well and served hot. The fish had a slight crispy, and the portion was fair. Parking is seems like it could be a downside. The main lot is small and fills up fast, park on the nearby side streets if you can, which can also be limited. I didn't get a chance to go inside cause my family placed the order. Not something I'd go out of my way for, but if you're nearby and craving seafood, it's worth a try.

Yelp
It is a perfect good budget for saving money in the trip. Also, a cool place, very casual, dog friendly. The service is fast and good. The food is delicious! Very well taste and fried. The ambiance is a family vibe.

Yelp
The Sea Harvest in Carmel is probably my 3rd favorite out of the three. Although it also has a fresh fish counter like in Monterey. We came at lunchtime, and it wasn't busy at all on a Saturday which should have been a HUGE sign. I was hungry though, so I ate most of the cup of clam chowder (wasn't very flavorful at all). We shared bbq oysters and garlic bread which were delicious. Also shared scallops, fries and green beans. Scallops tasted overcooked? I couldn't tell. Fries were okay. The green beans were really good. We sat outside, which is basically a deck facing a parking lot. Now that we've tried this one, I'll stick to the ones in Moss Landing and Monterey.

Yelp
The market was so busy with Christmas orders on December 23 that the restaurant was slightly off it's game today. Service was good, but my beloved crab sandwich, which has so much fresh crab was under toasted and overloaded with soggy lettuce and tomato, resulting in the sandwich falling apart quickly. No matter. I just had fewer carbs and scooped up the crab with lettuce. They always listen when I ask for extra lemons and their iced tea game is strong, so I will only ding one star because when properly executed, this is a spectacular sandwich with very little filler and taking it apart revealed sooo much crab and very little mayo.. just the way I like it.

Yelp
My family and I really enjoyed the food and experience at Sea Harvest Fish Market and Restaurant. the store is really neat in that it's a combination of a seafood market on one side and a cozy restaurant on the other side. The fish looked and smelled fresh and there were a lot of locals coming to buy their seafood. We decided to have lunch here after passing by a few times and wanting to try it. We ordered some oysters and their special of the day which was the local fresh caught black cod. The fish was amazing and cooked to absolute perfection. I couldn't have asked for a better and more amazing meal. the fish was so soft and tender and cooked to the exact right temperature so that there wasn't an even a hint of overdone texture. The plate comes with two sides which we got veggies and fries and a small cup of clam chowder soup. The chowder was tasty but a bit salty but in moderation it was delicious. The oysters were so large and fresh and tasty too. Waiters were very friendly and food was fast. Service was good and we really enjoyed our lunch here. We definitely beat the crowd because the restaurant filled up after we came.

Yelp
Super casual and clean. If dining in, grab a menu and choose your own place to sit & dine, and order at the register. They have a cute patio out back, but we decided to sit indoors. There are gender neutral restrooms in the back; which was a relief to know since I thought there weren't any restrooms available based off just sitting inside. Service was neutral. And food took a bit to come out but the fish is fresh so they are cooking the food as you order. Got the Fish tacos and Fish & Chips and they were good; not bad nor blow-your-taste buds out of the water amazing. I'd say if you want solid and fresh seafood, Sea Harvest is a legit fish market place to dine at.

Yelp
This place is amazing! It's a mini market where you can buy fresh seafood and also a restaurant where they take the fresh seafood they sell and cook it for you! I loved it! Their raw oysters were so sweet and definitely one of the best I've ever had. The clam chowder was also filled with clam bits where they didn't skimp you! I enjoyed the fresh scallops and jumbo prawns. We got the fresh scallops seared in a Cajun seasoning and the jumbo prawns seared with their garlic butter. The jumbo prawns weren't on the menu but since we saw it for sale, we asked for it and they were very accommodating. We came here around 3:30 on a Saturday and there was a lot of outdoor and indoor seating. On each table, they had some fresh flowers which I thought was lovely. I will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
Our group of 4 tried to get a late brunch around 1pm on Friday but found that there was an hour long wait so we walked over to Sea Harvest, which was busy but had open tables and pretty quick service and turnover. You grab a menu and table yourself and then order at the counter where they have buzzers to let you know to go up to grab your order. The space is very open with indoor and outdoor seating, and the inside is decorated with artwork for sale. - Clam Chowder (pint, $7.95): I shared this with a friend and it came out piping hot. It was a good, creamy chowder with plenty of clam meat. I saw someone who got the bread bowl at a table nearby and it's quite large. - Fish and Chips ($18.95): this is a very large serving and comes with coleslaw (with raisins), tartar sauce and a slice of lemon. The fish itself was a tad dry/tough and under seasoned, though there's salt, pepper, malt vinegar and hot sauces available at the tables. The fries were very good, and the coleslaw was okay. Overall, a good quick satisfying and large lunch! I would come back for clam chowder :)

Yelp
What started as a good experience quickly went downhill. Here's a lesson: ALWAYS CHECK your receipt. Fool me once, it's on me--but fool us twice? That's on you. We dined at the restaurant and placed an order at the fish market. To our surprise, there was some hidden taxation at play. The price we were quoted at the market didn't match the final bill. It was especially embarrassing since I had invited an accountant to this lunch. While the food was good, I can't recommend this place until they provide clear notice of any additional charges. TRANSPARANCY MATTERS.
google avatar

Yelp
I was very excited to try this place out. A big reason why the score is so low is that the guy that took our order was very rude. He kept telling us our group of 6 was too big. He looked obviously frustrated and even the way he was speaking to us was not professional. He then tried to make us separate our orders into groups which actually made it confusing. The food was made fairly quickly and tasted good, but there were some inconsistencies. My party mostly ordered fish and chips, and it seemed like the amount of fish and chips varied from plate to plate. The food is good, but sadly, I wouldn't return here.

Yelp
Food was great, seafood was high quality. Service was great and attentive. The vibe of environment felt relaxing. Only flaw was they don't take debit cards... ONLY CREDIT or CASH.

Yelp
I have been patron of Sea Harvest for many years. The place to go in Carmel for the freshest fish. I took my daughter there for lunch today. We each ordered a special. Me, Black Cod, my daughter the halibut. It came with a salad, vegetables and a baked potato, rice or French fries. Barely a minute passed before our salad came. It had obviously been plated and refrigerated until serving. No surprise. You don't go there for salad. Nothing brown, just prepared in advance. The disappointment came in the form of our lunch. Black cod, obviously had been sitting around a while, popped in the microwave, no seasoning. Strong fishy smell and taste. Broccoli unpeeled, barely heated, no seasoning. No salt. Hard as a rock. The halibut not obviously fishy, but no care taken. No salt, no pepper. Rice properly cooked, no seasoning. Baked potato. Come on guys. Obviously sitting out for a while the microwaved until barely warm. My daughter hates confrontation. So when I complained about the Cod she offered to take it. There it sat. The fishy taste is still in our mouths and in the back of our throats. Juan our waiter, informed me as he handed me the 87.00 bill, "Next time no Black Cod". I told him I loved Black Cod, when it was fresh and prepared with just a little care. Nothing in our meal was freshly prepared. Not the salad, not the fish, not the vegetables. No seasoning. No salt. No care. I left a 2.00 tip and a note that I was very disappointed. Shame on you Sea Harvest.

Yelp
Tucked away in a shopping plaza, this place is worth the quick stop! Restaurant is clean and inviting. Ordered the Clam Chowder in a bread bowl and it was delicious! The chowder had the perfect consistency and was hearty. Staff was kind and attentive to our needs.

Yelp
Well this is a fish market / restaurant so I knew what the ambiance was as we buy fish here frequently so the ambiance isn't great. I was so looking forward to eating here, sadly disappointing in the best way I can describe it. If the food is good ambiance doesn't matter to me so that didn't figure into this review. I had a crab sandwich the crab was tasteless no flavor, most likely it had been frozen, the lettuce was so wet that the bread became soggy . Our daughter had a crab Louie and she said the same regarding the tastelessness of the crab~ My husband had the scallops dinner plate sauteed with butter/garlic served with green beans & french fries looked quite good and he said it was good.......so maybe I ordered wrong as did our daughter. We buy fish here and it's always DEEELISSSH, so buy the fish & take home to cook it

Randy D.

Yelp
Got home to find nary a crouton nor the promised bread. Salmon is fine, but the darker lettuce wilted from the heat of the grilled salmon. We buy fish there and are happy with the quality. Thinking this was a mistake?
google avatar

Irina R.

Yelp
Sea Harvest market has a really good selection of fresh seafood. It's definitely pretty pricey for what you get (a small piece of grilled fish is almost $30) but it's really tasty. You order at the counter, take your buzzer, sit yourself at the table of your choice (inside and outside) and then pick up your food at the counter when the buzzer goes off. After you are done withy our meal, it is expected that you will clean after yourself as well. The ambiance is very casual, fast food like but with the high end restaurant prices. You can get a nice and healthy meal though so that's a huge plus. Plus a free parking lot :) Don't think I will be back as there are nicer places in the area but it is good if you want something fast and healthy.

Yelp
A Saturday evening, so the inside seating was a little crowded, but there were still tables available both inside and on the patio. The service wasn't the best. We never had our drinks refilled and waited an exorbitant amount of time to get our dishes bussed and the bill. Even though there was table service, it feels more like a seafood store with dining in as an option. The salesmen behind the counter were pretty loud and constantly talking to seafood customers, so the ambiance leaves a little to be desired. The flies were a bother too but probably a result of the open door and all the fish on property. The food was pretty good. Coconut shrimp and chips had five large shrimp and were filling. The fish and chips were also large portions, but we've had better, namely at The Monarch Pub about three miles away. They seem to do a pretty good seafood sales business, so maybe the dining in takes a backseat to it. Probably won't be back unless it's to buy fish/seafood to take home to cook.
google avatar

Yelp
It's crab season and man do they cook the crabs right! So juicy! We usually get them whole and crack them at home (my wife insists) That way you get the crab "butter" which makes a great dip for the crab meat, and any left over is fantastic stirred into scrambled eggs And what better accompaniment to the eggs than crab cakes from this store Four minutes on each side and they come out nice and crispy every time
google avatar

Ann M.

Yelp
Every time I'm in town, this is my lunch "go to place""." Today's bass with steamed vegetables and clam chowder were delectable. Every dish is consistently cooked to perfection. It's impossible yo have a bad dish. Yum!

Yelp
After a day of sightseeing in and around Carmel and Pacific Grove, I was craving good seafood. As it was much later in the evening, my husband and I were scouring the Carmel area for seafood joints that were still open for at least an hour. [Note: many restaurants and eateries in Carmel, particularly, close by 8:00 on the weekdays.] As time was ticking by, we found Sea Harvest Fish Market open. Whew. Here's the rundown of what I ordered: - 1/2 dozen oysters on the half shell - cup of New England clam chowder - grilled halibut w/wild rice and string beans with garlic MY WHOLE MEAL WAS EXCELLENT. What a great find. The service was friendly and courteous, and the ambiance was perfectly fine. This is NOT a romantic, candle-lit dinner type of setting, so STOP with trying to compare this place to other pricey, frou-frou establishments in Carmel. Sea Harvest Fish Market and Restaurant is all about fresh, high-quality fish and seafood that's very tasty and straightforward, ocean to table. When I'm visiting the area again, I'll be returning, for sure.

Yelp
Not vegan friendly. I found it extremely disturbing how they had 25 lobsters in a tiny tank in the front. With all of their clause wrapped in rubber bands.. very disturbing. Don't support this type of cruelty.
google avatar

Paddy O.

Yelp
This review is for the fish not the food. We buy all of our seafood here. It's the best place to buy fish in Monterey. They have so many options and everything is fresh.
google avatar

Yelp
Ugh. What a total disappointment. My husband and I had their combo fried plate and fried shrimp plate. A.W.shucks has always been the standard. I asked our waiter if they could go light on the batter. My batter was so thick it was horrible. Peeling it all off revealed sad tiny shrimp. A.W Shucks fried shrimp plate is $3 more but their shrimp is huge and juicy. My husband's fried scallops were uncooked. When I told the waiter I was so disappointed with the over-battered shrimp, he said the best thing is to cook and eat at home. He said that's what he likes to do. Guess we won't be returning!

Brian F.

Yelp
I would have loved to eat here, but didn't get the chance. I called, asked what time they would close for eating on the patio with a dog. I was told 8:30. I repeated back to confirm. When I got there at 8:05, I was told take out only. I mentioned that I called and was told we could be seated until 8:30, and they just said yeah, no take out only. So we went inside, just to buy seafood to cook, and they said we couldn't go inside to buy seafood with our dog, who I brought, because they said we could be seated until 8:30 on the patio with our dog just 10 minutes before.

Doug S.

Yelp
Sea Harvest has been serving people for 40 years, I am cheering for it to continue for a long time more. However, I ordered a $22 crab cocktail and was "advised" that it is frozen rock crab. I guess it was really a warning because they must of had previous complaints? One of the other people with me ordered a more expensive crab salad made with the rock crab. I was thinking that frozen was no big deal as a lot of of fish is frozen. The crab in the cocktail (there was a big portion) was strangely without ANY taste, as was the crab in the salad, between 3 of us at the table we couldn't finish the crab cocktail, the crab salad was not close to being eaten and we were a bit suspect about the safety of eating the crab since none of us had tasted crab like that. The Sea Harvest has great looking fresh whole crabs in their display case. I suggest they use the fresh crab and reduce the size of the cocktail to maintain cost, I'd rather be wanting more than throwing food (and money) away. Regardless of how good the quality might have been with the rest of the meal, using the tasteless, seemingly poor quality rock crab cast a very poor impression about the quality of everything else, regardless of how good the other food might have been. Service was efficient but devoid of smiles or friendliness. Ambiance is OK.

Yelp
Lovely small restaurant with a seafood market and nice outdoor dining area. They were very busy upon our arrival and appeared to only have 2 waitstaff. There is no hostess stand or wait list, so when a table became available, whoever was standing in front of the waitress got seated. The food was edible but nothing to go back for. The crab cakes did not have lumps of crabmeat and vegetables; instead they were homogenized paste that was battered and fried. Asked for the check twice before finally going inside to expedite the process.

Yelp
Clan chowder was fishy ! My husband took it back and because he is a tiny guy they laughed at him and made fun of him not acceptable ,! I ordered a cup of awful clam chowder and shrimp and chips 40.00 that's crazy not to mention clam chowder was un acceptable one cup 9,00 no way so my husband took back clam chowder and they made fun of him how dare you!

Yelp
3.5!! I'm surprised to see that there aren't more reviews for the Shrimp Pesto Fettuccine and for the garlic bread. The pasta was drenched in pesto and perfectly seasoned and served with 2 gigantic pieces of garlic bread. While the garlic bread could have used a little more garlic flavor, it was beautifully buttery and crispy while still being soft and warm on the inside. However, the pasta was a bit over cooked and I wished it was more al dente. Our table got the clam chowder, the halibut, and scallops, which was tasty, but the flavors did not knock it out of the park. I would come back but only to get the shrimp fettuccine! The service was great as even with a party of 6, we were seated quickly and the staff was attentive. It's located in a strip mall plaza, but the outdoor seating was cute and still captured the "eating on a pier" vibe. Pro tip: ask to swap out the bay shrimp for prawns. So delicious. Their prawns are huge and juicy!

Mari C.

Yelp
I came here thinking it'd be like the Monterey location but I was wrong. This is more of a sit down restaurant and is pricier. Nonetheless, I still ordered my food to go. That was a mistake as the portion was extremely small (much much less than the Monterey location) for more $$$. Their bread here had pieces of parmesan cheese and no garlic? The bread was also different. I did appreciate them letting me change the cream sauce to a pesto sauce. Overall, I was extremely unsatisfied with my food and felt like a waste of money. I will not be returning to this location and you should stay away too. Food: 5/10 Service: 7/10

Wil C.

Yelp
Was able to be seated right away. My broiled rock cod filet was flaky and tender. The string beans were firm but tender. The wild rice was cooked perfect. Service was prompt and friendly. Both servers were smiling the whole time. The glass fresh fish case gives the impression that the seafood being served is fresh. Would highly recommend. You can leave the tie and high heels at home.

Yelp
Great Food Since I was the wait staff service was fantastic. The ambiance of a fish market and restaurant combined is not bad.

Yelp
My favorite restaurant in Carmel. I recently travelled to Carmel and had dinner here twice. I got the salmon the first night and the halibut the 2nd night. The food is excellent. It was exactly what I was looking for.

Yelp
This restaurant came highly recommended by a local. We tried it out for dinner last night and we're not disappointed. We had the clam chowder fried artichokes, a bottle of wine and the seafood cioppino. All were spectacular- would highly recommend to anyone in the area. Such friendly staff as well! Service & ambiance both great!

Yelp
We specifically wanted fresh seafood on our girls trip to the coast. We were in town on a Sunday afternoon. We looked at the website and the menu and were excited about this restaurant. The website said they were open until 9, so arriving at 7:50 should have been no problem. When we walked in a lady was sweeping and said they were closing and could only take to go orders. We mentioned that the website said they were open until 9. She said that it was wrong and that the owner should fix that. We walked outside for a minute to decide what to do. We walked right back in to place a to go order and the man behind the counter said they had closed the kitchen. What??! In the two minutes we stepped outside. I definitely would not recommend this place. Mind you, there were at least four to five tables of people still eating.
google avatar

Eric E.

Yelp
This was a mixed experience for me. I was there for a Friday lunch. The staff were a bit slow to wait on me. They also didn't bring out bread. The oysters were excellent and well shucked. The big disappointment was the Cioppino. It hadn't been cooked long enough so none of the clams or mussels opened. They brought me more which was awkward because I either ate my meal and then some clams or I let my meal get cold while waiting. Also the broth was VERY heavy. For the price I was hoping for better.

Yelp
This was such a great find in Monterey, CA! The calamari was the best and the clam chowder was delicious! The fish can be ordered to your specified style and seasoning. The menu has those options. It's a small space but it has a nice outdoor patio. They have take out as an option. The service was ok, it's more of a pick it up yourself kind of place. That's ok but it helps to know that in advance. I would recommend this place and I will be returning.

Yelp
Delicious! I ordered the cajun seared catfish plate that came with coleslaw and a side of clam chowder. Everything was so good and flavorful! The restaurant can be a bit small but they have outdoor seating. The front of the restaurant is the market where people order to go. Clam chowder - Probably the best I've eaten. There's a lot of clam bits here. I would probably get a bowl to go next time :) Coleslaw - Great!! I've had a lot of bad coleslaw. The nuts and berries give it a nice touch Catfish - They give a generous portion size. I ate half and took the other half home. The black cajun seasoning with tartar sauce is *chefs kiss* I would definitely come back :)

Silvie M.

Yelp
The food is just plain and boring no outstanding spices taste at all. The price is too high for that kind of quality. If other people like that place it means they do not know the taste. On top of it that restaurant charges the customers 3.99% of the total bill if the customers pay with credit card?! What the hell is that?! They put their overhead expenses into their customers! & their restaurant food just tasted JUST PLAIN. No thanks!

Yelp
Delicious and fresh fish, oysters, and scallops. Great service and clean restaurant. Dog friendly patio seating.

Yelp
A little bit pricey! Other than that, everything is tasty. They know how to cook seafood in the right way!

Yelp
I wanted to love this spot but ended up feeling meh, here is why. I'll start with the good. Note I mention menu price, which I found out when I used a credit card included at 3.99% "cash discount" so the charge on your card is higher than your bill. Did not love this! Maybe it was printed on the menu but I missed it until trying to understand the $98 bill I got and the $110 total credit card charge (before tip!). Calamari strips were so good, tender thick strips fired deep golden. So delish. $16 Salads that can with entrees were wilted, got the feeling they had been sitting ready for service for hours. Clam chowder in a bread bowl had a finicky taste to it I could not put my finger on. Rare is there a chowder I don't want a second bite of, this was it. $19 menu price Entrée of broiled snapper with veggies and a baked potato. The potato was so small, finished in 4 bites. The snapper was fresh and light, well seasoned if a bit buttery. Veggies were cauliflower and broccoli steamed crisp and lots of butter. Overall nothing special, but fresh $26 menu price Kids pasta with butter, appreciate that this was not on the menu and portion was good for my child, she couldn't finish it. Maybe they charged me $10 for it, not sure 2 glasses of Chardonnay, $10'each, the first was good and second tasted cloying sweet and cheap, I think I got switched for the cheap house wine. When I asked for a second glass the server asked what I had. Mind you there was only one other table in the restaurant and I told her I couldn't recall the name but it was second on the list. Did not enjoy the second glass but didn't feel like making a big deal about it. Kids both has a Dr. Pepper. Total price $125 for dinner. 1 adult, 2 kids. Ambiance is interesting, fish market with tables. Kids thought it smelled weird, well, yes that's a fish market. Wouldn't go back.

Yelp
This is the best place, after the Monterey Wharf, to buy fresh seafood in the area. Then take it "home" to cook it. Their lunches are good too. I like their crab Louie and ask for extra crab (for a modest surcharge).

Yelp
This place is okay. The fish was over breaded but the fries were good. We also had a grilled garlic butter rock cod. It was under seasoned and did not have enough garlic flavor. Probably wouldn't come back.
