Year-round on Saturdays at Charleston Collegiate, this vendor-run market champions a maker-only ethos and the former Johns Island market’s truth-and-transparency roots. Charleston City Paper and Charleston Guru spotlight its community focus; the official site confirms the 9:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. hours in 2025.

Drove from my home town of Goose Creek and the drive was about an hour for about a 25-Mile drive into the greater Charleston area. Traffic and limited access in this area is well known to us locals. My first time visit and we were not disappointed. For this time of season, there were many vendors. I was told by other vendors as we purchased vegetables and breads that more will come in a few months when the vegetables will be coming in season. There was a big variety of vendors selling their wares. We parked on the outskirts of the entrance because there was a lot of people there already by 10am. Definitely will revisit and leave earlier from my home town. The vendors were really nice and willing to chat with their customers.

7/15- added another star. Vendors were so friendly! Update 6/24/23 Farmer's Market is HOPPIN'!! Lots of variety and vendors. The pizza was outstanding! Got my eggs and bread too. Update- The white bread I got was horrible. Dried out- over cooked and couldn't cut the next day. Had to throw it out. Vendors nice. Just not enough of them. I miss the Maybank location. Seemed to draw in more people just with the traffic flow.

I CAN feed my family with fresh, local, healthy, clean foods at prices I have in my budget! Two pounds of fresh pasta for $10? I can pay that! The load of veggies in my picture for $22? (Sigh) Thank you! Where else can you get farm-fresh eggs, local meats, farm-fresh veggies, homemade dressing, fresh-made pastas, bread, artisans and crafters all in one place just 5-8 mins from home?! Sea Island Farmer's Market is my jam! There's usually some jam too.

Great selection of fresh produce and handcrafted items. A wide variety, including chicken pork beef milk eggs carrots peppers corn beans and all sorts of other tasty items. There are also a couple of people selling freshly prepared food. Definitely a great experience, and we'll go back again soon.

Google
Small farmers market with lots of local vendors for everything except vegetables. The 2 or 3 vegetable vendors seemed to be mostly selling the same stuff you can get from Publix. Still looking for a decent tomato.

Nice location, really enjoyed veggies we got. Especially the sweet corn. But there were not a lit of vendors, might have been a weather thing?

This is my favorite farmers market I’ve been to! All the venders make, grow, design or create what they are selling so you are directly supporting the farmers, crafts people and artisans. Definitely recommend checking them out ♥️

Yelp
The Sea Island Famers Market is #1 in all of Charleston county. We visit weekly for the fresh produce, pasta from Rio Bertolini, flowers from the Urb farm and bread from Brandon's bread. Make sure you arrive early before everything sells out. Plenty of parking. a multitude of vendors and a causal, laid back vibe. There are also the cutest pups for adoption! I wish I could rescue them all. The best of the best!

Yelp
As a food snob that's willing to pay more for better ingredients to start from, yeah. Been once. Won't be the last time. Got some tomatoes from a guy that I forget the name of but judging by how long the line that people sat in without complaint apparently I'm the last to find out anyway. Good time.

Yelp
This is my regular market and it's wonderful. The vendors have created a warm and welcoming community. There is always plenty of easy parking. Several of the vendors offer online pre sales so you can easily walk up and pick up (and not worry about them selling out before you get there!. The market itself has an instagram account where the weekly post all the vendors they are expecting. This is also I believe the only market in the Charleston area that is open all year long- it's great!!
