Best Weekend Getaways from Atlanta

"Among Georgia’s Golden Isles, Sea Island has shone the brightest since 1926. The Forbes Five-Star resort and its Addison Mizner–inspired inn, the Cloister, are home to five miles of private beach, a hunting preserve, and a sprawling Beach Club and pool complex. Golf is a big deal here: Sea Island residents Davis and Mark Love recently redesigned the classic Plantation Course. During your trip, take part in decades-old resort traditions like family bingo and seafood suppers on nearby Rainbow Island. On neighboring St. Simons Island, tour the St. Simons Lighthouse Museum and visit Revolutionary War sites, including Fort Frederica National Monument."

Sea Island | World's best golf resorts

"Sea Island has been welcoming guests since the 1920’s, and an air of old-fashioned glamour still defines this ultra-private, luxury resort. Guests have a choice of different accommodation styles, from the gentleman’s club atmosphere of the Lodge, to the more Spanish villa vibe of the Cloister, and the more informal Inn at Sea Island. The legendary golf course is invariably the big draw here, but there’s also an exceptional spa and top-class dining across a mind-boggling 15 separate venues, from the five-star dining room to milkshakes at the Beach Club. Beautiful!!! Hospitality service is amazing. Truly an amazing getaway!!! Every turn is a 5 star encounter. Dinner at the Lodge is world class full of richness. Morning horse back riding along the ocean is serene. Breath taking beach or assorted pools.

I loved sea island because it's full of nature and fun!! It has pools, bars and lots of things for children!! Although this place is very expensive. That's the only disadvantage.

Sea Island is a special place where hospitality knows no bounds. No matter which activity (of the many to choose from) you embark on, each experience comes with amazing staff and extraordinary facilities. It’s one of my favorite places to be.

I was here for a business retreat. The grounds are really amazing. The rooms are spacious and beautiful. We we're also happy that they were extremely pet friendly (with a $175 fee of course). Everything on site is extremely expensive and in my opinion overpriced even for a 5 star hotel. However, the staff is absolutely wonderful.
