"Sea N Suds is a must for lunch while in town, a gloriously old school spot that sits on stilts right on the water. You’ll find it full of happy families, usually necessitating a brief wait, but grab a frozen from the bar on the back deck and enjoy the view. This place is best for fried seafood — get the crab claws for the table to start, followed by fried shrimp or oysters. The salad bar is a throwback, complete with bacon bits, steamed green beans, and hard-boiled eggs. Tuesdays and Fridays bring a fried mullet special, which this part of the Gulf is known for. The gumbo is surprisingly solid." - Clair Lorell

Place is right on the shore! Watch parasailing and jet skiers. 1/2lb peel and eat shrimp is $10, 1 lb is $18. We got well over a pound each. Sweet potato fries $4 and hush puppies $4! Great views with great food! Lots of fans on the porch even in hot weather is comfortable!

Google
This place was above and beyond and will always hold some of our best memories. The service here was top notch, bar tenders were great, our server Amanda was so hospitable and welcoming. She made this lunch so special for my kids and family and something we will always remember from this trip. The food was delicious and fresh, the atmosphere and view were one of a kind and anymore it's hard to find staff that go above and beyond for their customers. This place is one of a kind! Highly recommend

Google
We were seated immediately with a party of 8 outside in the sun with no warning. As you can see from our photo, the only non functioning, rusted fan is on that side. $40 for some bland fried crab claws-but portions were great! The waitress did not necessarily make the heat any better, she did her job, but nothing more than the basics. You’ll be okay eating here, just don’t go at 5:15 and eat outside.

This past summer, my family got to experience, possibly the best restaurant experience! I love the fact that this restaurant is literally on the beach over sand! As my family was waiting to be seated, we got to walk on the beach too! We sat outside and got to enjoy the sunset while eating amazing food! When we come back to Gulf Shores, we're definitely eating here again!!

Google
We sat outside to enjoy the view. The waitress was pretty apathetic and forgot about us frequently. For two people we were there well over an hour. They accidentally boxed our food up as to-go so had to “plate” the food. The food was decent when we got it. The royal reds shrimp was really good but the mozzarella sticks were average.

Google
Food is mediocre prices are okay but you don’t get much. Order the seafood platter definitely didn’t feel like a platter. Boiled shrimps are small. Probably won’t be back

So I have only written one Google review in my entire life. Aspen Dental a couple years ago and then second one will be today . Didn’t want to waste my time for reviews, but I feel this needed to be relayed to the public. Let me preference we ( my family ) have always loved Sea & Suds. We have been here for 4 years and visit often throughout the year. We support them in non peak season when they have to close a couple days a week because it’s dead down here. I’m 56 years old and Friday night July 4th was the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. I was there with my wife, father and mom, who is 83 years old in a wheel chair from prior strokes. We arrived and there was a 45 minute wait which was completely fine. We put our name on the list and asked if we could sit at the bar (oyster) to keep mom out of the heat. The patrons opened up room for us which was incredible. We ordered four drinks. As we were sitting there one of the oysters shuckers gave us 4 oysters to sample to see if we wanted to order at dinner, because I love oysters and was bantering with him. It was a very nice gesture. After an hour I went back and asked why we didn’t get called and they said because you ordered food at the bar . I said no we ordered drinks and the chef back there gave us 4 oysters to be sampled . That’s fine . They said we will get you the next table, which was great. EVERYTHING would have been settled, but the manager Amanda Smith felt the need to walk by and scream the reason we skipped you was because you ordered food and we normally we don’t let people just wait at the bar. I said we didn’t order food, he gave us samples and the only reason we weren’t waiting outside was because of my mom is in a wheelchair and it’s 95 degrees and nobody ever said we couldn’t sit there. She was completely rude to my family. Was not going to throw out names, but since the manager Amanda Smith threw a piece of paper with her name, email address and owners name over my mom in a wheelchair in my face after we sat down at the table, I will. She said call my owner David. He would laugh in my face at us, because she has worked there 13 years and threatened me to email him, which I wasnt even going to do, but since she did that so flippantly, I will mention her name. She kept threatening me with cameras and I said please show the cameras. She Instigated a table ( her regulars ) and said she would call the LAW on me , my wife , my 80 year old dad and my 83 year old mom in a wheelchair. Not being dramatic, but again check the cameras as she kept threatening . We loved Sea And Suds, but her actions are unacceptable. Again please check the cameras . She was too aggressive towards our table and we had to leave, because mom was starting to have an anxiety attack and has been dealing with multiple strokes over the last 8 years, and we had to wheel her out and take our food to go. Again check the cameras. I have the piece of paper she threw at me on the table. Again please look at the tape. Yes things probably could have been handled differently on both sides. When I quietly asked our server for the managers name it never should have been escalated. After the server told her I asked for her name that should have been it. Professionally she should have let it go. But she felt the need to come to our table and again standing over my mom in a wheelchair and throw the paper at me. It was very sad seeing the look on my parents face. Needless to say our family or friends here will never support Sea and Suds again in peek or non peek season.

Google
I think this is a hidden gem on the Alabama coast. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. Our server, Kaylee, was fantastic—friendly, attentive, and quick with our orders, even in such a popular spot. The atmosphere was beautiful, with a great view of the white sand beach and ocean.

Pat Y.

Yelp
Why did they change tartar sauce? The best shrimp sandwich is no longer the walking dog.

Paul D.

Yelp
Good not great. Whenever I visit Gulf Shores, which is around 2.5 times per year, I always attempt to try a new restaurant. Whenever Royal Reds are on the menu, I usually order them. Compared to The Steamer, this place lacks. The Royal Reds at The Steamer are bigger and better. Green Beans, potatoes, and corn are also on the plate @ The Steamer. I left hungry... Might hit Waffle House up on the way out.

Derek T.

Yelp
It's good for when you feel like walking to dinner close-by, not worth the trip for the food. Mediocre service, mediocre fried foods. I actually had a blackened grouper sandwich and it was pretty good, but everyone else's fried food wasn't great.

Sarah H.

Yelp
Meh. More of a place for a drink by the ocean. Food was fried and typical. Nothing to write home about and kind of pricey. Paying for location.

Amberly D.

Yelp
Wasn't crazy about this place. The wait was about 30-45 mins on a Friday evening. The drinks were great, but the food was run of the mill fried stuff. I could've gotten this elsewhere with less wait and a little more class. Definitely an averagely average place to eat. Our waitress was great, however. It was loud and definitely an older building where you can tell no updates have been done in a long time.

Christina T.

Yelp
We come here the first day we are in town every time we visit. I honestly come here for the fresh oysters. I have never eaten anything else here. They are big and I enjoy them every time. I can't speak to the other food but the oysters are worth it. Love making my own cocktail sauce.

Brooks W.

Yelp
Sea N Suds We really enjoyed Sea N Suds. It is the perfect place to go if you want a good meal but casual (like we kept on all our beachwear). Spicy Honey Garlic Wings - we got this as an appetizer to share, and it ended up being our favorite thing. Not too sweet or too spicy, just right! Must get if you come here! Seafood Platter - included 1 fish, 1 stuffed crab, fried shrimp, fried oysters, a cup of gumbo, fries, and hush puppies. This was plenty of food for 2 of us to split. If we had to rank the items (favorite to least favorite), we would choose Shrimp, Gumbo, crab, oysters, fries, hush puppies, fish. Telling you this in case you'd rather focus your appetite on just the better menu items. Fried Onion Rings - these were delicious if you love onion rings. This was a want and not a need (we saw another table had them so I needed to order them haha) Drinks - we got a daiquiri and a bushwhacker and both were good (bushwhacker probably slightly better). Overall, would definitely recommend.

Mike D.

Yelp
Another great meal at SnS . Reasonable prices. Beer on tap! Salad bar option. Great seafood choices and reliable good service. Casual dining to complete a great day at the beach

Dinestein M.

Yelp
We were a party of seven and got seated right away. The room was busy but people were getting their food in a timely fashion. However, our waitress left our food in the kitchen after being informed It was ready. There were four tables after us with a different waitress who had their food before us. The gumbo was cold, I only had 10 fried oysters not 12, the hamburger tasted like elementary school lunchroom meat and the fried crawfish tails looked like Jew fish nuts and tasted like the smell of a wet dog. Sorry but this is the truth.

Robbin W.

Yelp
After a beautiful day in beach, stopped by for a tasty Supper! Salad bar and peel and eat shrimp were superb.. waitress kept us filled up and left with a full glass. Place was a little Sandy because of its location, but we enjoyed it!

Jason T.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite spots in Gulf Shores. You can walk up from the beach. There is an outdoor deck looking at the ocean. You have to put a shirt on to eat inside. It's laid back and reasonably priced. I got the AYCE fried mullet and it was delicious. Fresh and hot with as much as I wanted. Service was fast. Get there before 5 to avoid crowds. I will try the salad bar next time. It was well stocked and looked great.

Johnny T.

Yelp
If you want to sit on the beach and have a mediocre meal, then here's your spot. Service was so-so and my burger was grey cardboard. Truly, a McDonald's cheeseburger would be better. The rest of the family had the same opinions with their lunches. Coors Light in the can was cold. I'd walk two blocks west to The Hangout and have a better meal.

Charly P.

Yelp
I make it a point to eat at a different restaurant for every meal we eat out on vacation. Today's lunch brought us out to Sea-N-Suds, and we were not disappointed! Our group had the mozzarella sticks, salad bar, fried oyster dinner, and the steamed shrimp and crab claw dinner. My vegetarian friend had slim pickings but said the salad bar and mozzarella stickers were tasty. The seafood was FRESH and very tasty. The only cons are that A. The tartar sauce is prepackaged (still tasty, but I prefer the house-made stuff B. They get pretty busy, so if you don't want to wait an hour to eat you'll have to sit inside where it's a bit cramped Other than that it was perfect! The staff was very nice and we let stuffed and happy.

Zane H.

Yelp
Horrible service, subpar oysters. Beer wasn't very cold. We left and grabbed main meal elsewhere.

Thomas W.

Yelp
Quick lunch at the beach! We had the fried shrimp and a burger, both were really good. We noticed a nice salad bar on the way out...next time we might opt for the salad bar and possibly split a meal! Will definitely return!!

Jeanee F.

Yelp
What a hidden lil gem! 2days in a row we relaxed on the beach and went in for drinks and lunch. Bobby was our server both times and was fabulous !! He recommended the fish special and he wasn't wrong. It was a whole lotta food for the money. Super tasty

Mya F.

Yelp
lowkey this place sucked ass. only fried sea food served with hush puppies, fries, and bad cole slaw. it is pretty reasonably priced but i wish they wouldn't market themselves as a "seafood" restaurant bc it's really not. fair prices but i was very disappointed.

Jennifer H.

Yelp
We loved sitting outside on one of the few beach side spots in Gulf Shores. Good food and great service!

Braxton P.

Yelp
Great view of the beach I ordered the chicken strip sandwich it was good but the rest of my family got different things and they said it was pretty bad but the restaurant was so close to my condo I had to walk there

Tina S.

Yelp
Food was good. Service good. Very casual atmosphere. We sat outside and enjoyed the ocean view. Try the oysters on the half shell!

Lourie J.

Yelp
This place is always amazingly good! Been one of my favorites for many years! Can't beat the view of the Gulf.

Mike M.

Yelp
What a total disappointment. Food was subpar quality but much higher prices than expected. Disappointing that the prices on our receipt were 10-20% higher than stated on the menu. Service was good and fast but won't be back.

Brandi R.

Yelp
Loved the beachside bar! Our bartender, Willie, was awesome! He clearly enjoys his job! Our drinks were amazing! Great experience!

Will H.

Yelp
It may be a staple for long time visitors who have nostalgic ties but for me as a first time visitor I didn't love it.

Meredith B.

Yelp
Royal reds are MUSH!!!! Way over cooked and when we told the manager, they took off 25% of our order. We at 2 each out of 1/2 pound order a piece. Disgusting!!!!! Will not be back.

LaRae D.

Yelp
The beach location is scenic. The food is just ok and overpriced. Bland drinks and a limp salad bar left me wanting a do-over.

Blue C.

Yelp
Really great food and service at an amazing price. We were served by Bobby and he was such a delight! Very friendly and attentive. Everything was delicious from the appetizer to the salad bar. The grouper was probably one of the best groupers I've ever had, which says a lot because I've had many groupers in my life some even from high end restaurants. Really blown away. The shrimp was also very tasty but a little over battered. $10 beer pitchers? Doesn't get any better than that! Everything was so reasonably priced which was extremely refreshing especially in this day and age. Don't change your prices! Makes your food more appetizing, if that's even possible. We left sooo full. We will absolutely be returning and asking for Bobby. Keep up the amazing work. Thank you for such a great experience.

Jessica A.

Yelp
We ate at sea-n-suds after a long day in the sun. It wouldn't have been my first choice but it was within a few minutes walking distance from where we were staying. They accommodated our massive group of 14 people, even pulled tables together, and were very pleasant about having a family this big. We waited maybe 30-45 minutes but there's plenty of sunny and covered seating outside along with a bar. The bar outside had frozen drinks which satisfied us "20 something year olds". They even made virgin frozen drinks for the 17 year olds. I'm pretty sure each of the drinks were $13.50ish for a big plastic logo cup. There were 8 or 9 favors. I had two! The food was wasn't something to write home about but definitely satisfied the "fried" craving that people had in our group. I had the "fish of the day" which happened to be mullet. Like all the other meals, it came with crinkle cut fries and two hush puppies. Ranch, ketchup, and tartar sauce were kept at the table in big sauce bottles. It was pretty good, and actually kind of a bargain compared to other dishes and the drinks. All of the workers I encountered were a delight. My vegetarian sister had a grilled cheese. Another family member who didn't like fish had a grilled chicken sandwich. Not a ton of options for these two but possible to accommodate picky ones. Other than steamed shrimp, everything was fried but this was kind of the theme of the restaurant. Overall had a good experience here

Derek S.

Yelp
Wonderful environment right on the beach. Drinks were great and the grouper sandwich was delicious. You can't beat the price for seafood around the area.

Julie S.

Yelp
I've been visiting this restaurant for more than 25 years and have always LOVED it. You could always count on the best fried mushrooms with wonderful ranch dressing, fresh and hot fried seafood, and royal reds that were the most amazing! Last night we arrived in Gulf shores and were eagerly looking forward to dinner at our longtime favorite spot. Well....I'm sad to see this place has drastically changed for the worse. Our food...ugh. We ordered three dozen raw oysters, mozzarella sticks and fried mushrooms for appetizers. The oysters were not on ice and almost dangerously warm (be careful), no cheese in half of the mozzarella sticks, and the mushrooms had an odd taste and dripping with grease. Also, no more fresh ranch dressing, no you get packaged ranch. Our entrees were lack luster. The fried oysters were soggy and mushy. The Royal reds had the heads in them and were soggy. Fries were cheap crinkle cuts that were cold. Three of our party ended up with upset stomachs afterward. Such an expensive meal to walk away hungry. Will not be back. And those words hurt me to type.

Heidi H.

Yelp
The views are amazing from here. We sat outside so we could enjoy them. The Bushwacker is one of my top ones I have had since I have been in Gulf Shores. We ordered half a dozen oysters. They were the biggest Oysters we have seen down here. The hush puppies were good as well

Andy A.

Yelp
Like most places in GS, touristy, an hour-plus wait, and meh food. Everything was fried, so everything tasted the same. Our waiter was kind, the bartender looked miserable but made a nice island-y drink, and the standout winner for this place is the view of the Gulf.

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
Great views of the Beach! That is the only reason to come here. Food is below par, salad bar is okay, everything is fried except the Grouper which was very old and rubbery. Bushwhacking was not good either, probably should have ordered something else. Would not come for anything but the beach view which is great if you can eat out on the back deck.

Chris E.

Yelp
We stayed at the condo next door super convenient for us. Able to walk in and be served without a long wait on a Saturday night. Food was decent and excellent service. Great view of the gulf.

Linda D.

Yelp
Excellent Fried Oyster Sandwich today. There were so many oysters on the bun they fell out when I took a bite! Great value.

David G.

Yelp
Overall, okay. I might go again if convenient, like it was this time because I was in the condo next door. I got the grouper sandwich ($10) and my wife got the gumbo ($8). We also shared a basket of onion rings ($4). I liked the grouper much more than the gumbo. I'm from New Orleans, and I'm used to it being more spiced. The grouper, however, was good and a sizable cut. I would not order the onion rings again. They were undercooked (not crispy and still gummy). The aesthetic of the actual place is fairly plain, which is rather typical of beach places, but the view is good of the beach and ocean. The staff was nice and also busy. TLDR; Typical beach spot with decent food. The onion rings were a miss on this trip; I might consider giving another chance on it since I love onion rings. It was convenient but not a homerun so I wouldn't personally go out of my way.

B G.

Yelp
Not sure what happen but this visit was a huge disappointment. The fish sandwhich and daughters kids fish was chewy and almost rubbery. It was very dirty inside as well and they weren't busy to justify it. Their website menu shows kids drinks are included in the meal but they aren't. $3,75 for a kids drink is added. Pretty frustrating to pay over $10 extra in a kids drinks unexpectedly. Heads up they use prepackaged tartar sauce, ranch etc. which I don't prefer when eating out. Our pricey bill doesn't reflect the quality of food they serve. Won't be returning.

Tara M.

Yelp
On vacation and my husband and I wanted some fresh seafood and we waited until it opened at 11am. We should've known better walking up the ramp to the restaurant bc it had empty boxes and crates which smelled going up to the door. We ordered raw oysters, 2 bloody Mary's and a grouper sandwich. The bloody Mary's were watered down and no sides came with the grouper sandwich. My sandwich came out first and we were waiting on the oysters which we cancelled when she told us there was only one person shucking the oysters. $40 later... not impressed and will not go back. Such a great spot on the ocean.. too bad....waitress was nice but not overly attentive. Save your money.

Tracy P.

Yelp
We went twice on our vacation. The fried fish sandwich is excellent - we had them bring us sliced pickled to add because it needs that brineiness with the tartar sauce to pull it together. The salad bar was excellent! I could have made a meal out of it with the chicken salad, pimento cheese dip and other goodies that are included. The chicken salad itself was delicious! Everything was fully stocked and fresh. (We usually eat around 4/4:30p to avoid the crowds) My husband had the gumbo and said it was great. You could tell it had been cooking all day by the way everything fell apart. He also had an oyster sandwich on the second trip, but said Lulu's was better. Cost is pretty reasonable, but one downside is how expensive it is to add on fries ($3), fruit ($5) or onion rings ($4) since most entrees don't come with anything. But the onion rings are really good! If you sit inside, just be prepared to be squished in. The place isn't super roomy. They also have bulky trays on the table with condiments that make it challenging to find space for drinks and your meal. If I were them, I'd consider getting a long, narrow tray so guests have more table space.

Pamela M.

Yelp
We've been to Sea-N-Suds numerous times over the years because my best friend's condo is just up the road. It's nice to have the deck area that nearly touches [or does touch] the ocean. I've had their gumbo and thought it was meh. Not much flavor there. I recall numerous fried food options. I enjoyed the oysters here. Overall, I would recommend Sea-N-Suds as a spot to get yourself a beer or other adult beverage and enjoy the ocean view.

Nancy P.

Yelp
4 of us had dinner in the dinning room. 7 pm on a Friday in November and we were seated right away. Had our food within 20 minutes, all piping hot. Oysters on the half shell, fried Oyster dinner with a huge order of French fries and cole slaw (did not care for the slaw) but everything else was wonderful. Also had a grouper fish platter, again fries and slaw. And salad bar as an entree. I had the salad bar and it was all fresh and tasty, plenty of dressing and topping choices plus some chicken salad, pimento cheese, beets, cottage cheese, fruit, etc. Tasted my hubby's grouper, excellent and fries were hot and crispy. Great service, on the beach with outdoor seating as well. Parking across the street. Reasonable prices, no desserts

Laura L.

Yelp
We were seated quickly but our server waited a while to get our drinks, then said he had other things to do when we said we were ready to order everything. Our $8 mozzarella stick appetizer came with 5 cheese sticks, & the food was mediocre at best. I've been coming here since I was a kid so while it's nostalgic I will make a new tradition with my family. Terribly disappointed but there's lots of other great restaurants in Gulf Shores to frequent!

Tanya C.

Yelp
one of my all time favorites! i don't know why, it doesn't look special but the salad is incredible. pair it with a shrimp or fish sandwich and you are set! table service is swift and you can have a cocktail on the deck while you wait for a table. ambiance is typical beach diner with tight seating and not so special decor but don't let that deter you from hitting this fav!

Debra S.

Yelp
Very nice place to sit and watch the happenings on the gulf. The servers were happy and attentive, while providing good service I chose the catch of the day. It was grouper served as a fish sandwich. What an awesome sandwich.

Ray T.

Yelp
The best oysters in Gulf Shores. They're reasonably priced and can get busy, especially around sunset.

J W.

Yelp
The food is great, certainly, but I really want to bring attention to Willie the bartender at the outdoor tiki bar. Not only will he make you laugh your ass off but he genuinely takes care of his customers. The mixes this dude makes are spot on in regards to flavor and high octane every time ! Be sure and tip Willie! You da man Willie!

Perry M.

Yelp
A "shack" on the beach that serves fish, shrimp, oysters, burgers, etc. I had the fried oyster sandwich with onion rings, my wife had a cheeseburger with fries. I wouldn't say anything was "hand crafted" but we were hungry and it tasted good. Seating inside or out - there was a bit of a wait even at 2:30pm so we sat at the bar and ate there. Service was swift.

Amanda R.

Yelp
Never again. Complete tourist trap. Food was cold, had obviously been sitting for a while but came out 2 minutes after we ordered. No thanks. The only thing this place has going for it is the view.

Mandy L.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to Come in Gulf Shores. Love the food, the placement on the beach, the staff, the salad bar.....everything. Shoes are optional too, especially if you're walking up from the beach! It's not a dress-up fancy kinda place, more of a just a come as you are & enjoy some good food beach dive!!

Jenell S.

Yelp
I don't understand the good reviews of this place because it was the WORST dinner we had. EVERYTHING is fried! I had crab claws and they were so tiny I felt I was just eating batter. The oysters were fried! Why? Taster terrible. The gumbo was great, that's it The service was amazing, to bad they had to serve such low quality product. Nice view of ocean.
