1st time eating at Sea Smoke and had a great experience! Got there before our reservation time and sat at the bar. Bartenders were super friendly and the cocktails were really tasty! We then sat down to order. The waiter was so friendly and despite being very busy, gave us ample time to talk and order. We ordered a few appetizers, all were delicious and the main course didnt disappoint either! 10/10 experience!

Recently went to Sea Smoke for the first time. Modern fine dining in a “sea” like atmosphere. Absolutely love the decor- it really sets a romantic, elegant vibe. I went with a bunch of friends, we shared a few appetizers. Burrata skillet, crispy oysters, tuna tartare and ricotta bread. We all loved everything. My favorite was the ricotta bread. For my entree, I took the waitresses recommendation and ordered the sea bass. It was a great portion and nicely seasoned. I would definitely order again. The service was friendly. They checked in on us but never felt like we were being rushed. Two of us stayed after to have a drink at the bar. Shout out to the bartender Terry. He was great. Personable and knowledgeable.

Mixed Review. The food was really good. We shared the PEI Oysters. They were excellent. The tuna tartare appetizer was superb. The burger was probably the best I've had. The caramelized onions added to the flavor. It was done perfect. The fries that came with it with nothing special. The side of mash potatoes was so creamy and yummy. The shrimp appetizer with the bread was only ok. A personal taste. I did not like the sauce but shrimp was cooked and great. He is the not so good. We wanted to hit the happy hour at the bar. Both the inside and outside bars were full so we were seated. Later to find out we could have been seated at a bar table. We sat around the tree - a bench seat and a chair. The chairs are not tall enough for the table. The bench seat was higher. I had to lift my arms to put them on table. I am of average height and weight and found it very uncomfortable. Our waitress was great but the bar tender seemed off. We had to send back 2 drinks. I also had to get up and go ask for extra silverware. There was a bit of confusion btwn waitress and bus person. Disappointed we could not get food off happy hour menu as that is what we wanted to try. I will return and try again for the happy hour. Lots of people there and the outside deck looks great.

Excellent oysters and excellent lobster rolls, the fries were good too! Great accommodations on the staffs part, had a great time, went and sat by the river after at the amphitheater right next to Sea Smoke, wonderful time with my girlfriend.

Google
So happy to have found such a beautifully designed restaurant in Albany! As a seafood lover, I truly enjoyed every dish here. The food was fresh and delicious — especially the Garlic Butter Clams in White Wine Sauce, which were aromatic, tender, and memorable. While the service was average, the overall experience was still enjoyable and definitely worth a try.

First time & won’t be the last 🔥 from the minute we walked in…staff was on point👍 Celebrating our anniversary with complamentary 🥂 from Sea Smoke:) Meals were amazing & dessert was WOW!

Google
Beautiful venue. Excellent service. Delicious food! Two of us split the ricotta bread and we each got the sea bass. The bread had fabulous flavor and texture with the perfect amount of saltiness to enhance the flavor. The sea bass was buttery and cooked to perfection with very yummy balls of pasta underneath. For beverages, I got the black pearl and my friend got an apple based drink with a cinnamon rim. We were both very happy with the drinks and I enjoyed the flavor complexity in mine! Went back and consistently delicious food! Tried the butternut squash and mushroom rigatoni dish and it was divine!

Google
We chose this restaurant to celebrate family birthdays over brunch, expecting a memorable experience—but unfortunately, it fell far short. The main menu was disappointingly restricted and overpriced, with prices seemingly more reflective of the waterfront view than the food or service quality. Seated outside, I turned my chair to enjoy the scenery and was repeatedly bumped into by staff, without so much as a glance or an apology?? The lack of attentiveness continued throughout—my water was never refilled, and our server was notably disengaged despite a quiet Sunday crowd. Most concerning was the hygiene. Our meals were brought not by our server, but by someone who had just been petting a guest's dog moments earlier!!? As for the food itself: a burger (ordered medium rare with bacon), an omelette, and a salad all arrived looking like afterthoughts—dry, missing ingredients, and lacking the freshness we saw delivered to other tables! Though the cocktails were a highlight and the birthday guest did receive a complimentary fudge treat, the overall experience raised more red flags than reasons to return. It’s hard not to notice when your table is the only one of color and your service feels less-than. I truly hope that was coincidence—but for those considering a visit: come for the view, but manage your expectations... and perhaps bring your own water.

Yelp
Went here for a dinner with friends on a weeknight and we were seated right away. The place is beautiful! It would make a nice spot to grab a drink, sit out on their patio, which overlooks the river, or enjoy dinner in their main dining room. Since we were a large group, we ordered several appetizers, including the Ricotta Bread, Smoked Burrata Skillet and Tuna Tartare. Everything was absolutely delicious! For my entree, I ordered the King Crab Spaghetti, which had lumps of king crab mixed in the pasta. It was light and flavorful. I definitely recommend it! They also have a ton of cocktails, wines and a few beer offerings. I got a Watermelon Mule mocktail, which was so refreshing. Our server, Sarah, was so friendly and attentive to our group. I highly recommend Sea Smoke for a delicious dining experience!

Yelp
Had a really fantastic visit with friends. We split different appetizers and I had the warm lobster roll as my meal. My favorite app was the tuna tartare and next time I'd try the nachos to compare. My lobster roll was perfect with melted butter on the side for extra decadence. The ambiance is beautiful, love a parking lot for easy arrival and the service from Sarah was awesome. Drinks were also delicious.

Yelp
Second visit and once again they did not disappoint on every dish except the fried shrimp. It was overdone and dry but they took it off the bill so no harm, no foul. Rest of the meal was fantastic! We had several apps and split the Waygu medallions They were cooked perfectly and the truffled mashed and asparagus were a nice complement. Really have had 2 very consistent and wonderful dining experiences. Will definitely recommend Sea Smoke and continuo to patronize this place. Our server Jimmy was very personable and attentive but not overbearing. Very interested to see what the outdoor area is like in the summer!!

Yelp
I spent an hour looking over menus before picking Sea Smoke. It was time well spent. The plan- have a meal thanksgiving eve on way to airport to pick up a friend's daughter. Upon arrival the hostess greeted us with a smile and suggested picking any seat we wanted. We went to the bar. First thing we noticed is that most people knew the bartenders Terry and Elaine. They address their customers by name too. Happy hour menu all eve. Elaine took our order, Kate had a cosmo, I stuck to water and a coke. We started with lobster sliders and a grilled artichoke. Nice little grilled brioche bun, a lobster claw in each. Grilled artichoke was perfect too. Next up raw oysters and a smoked clam chowder. While the Oysters were great, the clam chowder was unreal. Never had smoked clam chowder before and now I will have to smoke my clams when we make our next chowder here at home. Last but not least, burger sliders and truffle fries. Again the grilled brioche bun a nice thick med burger with cheddar cheese and as many caramelized onions as you could hope for. Truffle fries were okay with shaved parm on them. Frozen and bagged, not much you can do to make them great. Both bartenders were extremely attentive and kept really busy. The only item we didn't try was Calamari. We don't eat it, but many other patrons were absolutely enjoying the calamari. We looked over the dinner menu and decided we would be back to enjoy dinner in the near future. Chef Tim hits it out of the park nightly from what we saw and experienced. Nice tables outside on the Hudson during better weather. Looking forward to that too.

Yelp
Excellent service, location, and ambiance. The food is good, but not at the great level. Prices at the great level.

Yelp
The first time we went to Sea Smoke we tried their happy hour menu and were not very impressed, but happy hour is not where I believe a restaurant really showcases how great it can be. We decided to come back for dinner and had an amazing meal. Dinner is where this restaurant really shines. We were very comfortable there, it was not overly loud, the decor was pleasantly colored, it was a classy and somewhat unpretentious environment. For our appetizers we ordered a variety of oysters and they were delicious and fresh. We ordered three different varieties and each had their own tasty nuances. They were accompanied by hot sauce, Lemon wedge, vinegary mignonette and cocktail sauce. We then ordered the octopus appetizer. It came with a delicious slab of fried pork belly, which was really delicious as a small addition to the plate. The octopus was tender and fresh and if you could keep some of it out of the plum sauce it was sitting in, you could really taste the octopus flavor. The plum sauce was just a little overpowering. Next we got a half order each of the fried calamari and the fried oysters. The flavor of the fried oysters really came through. Even though they were fried they still had a delicious meaty flavor and were very moist. Unctuous and almost fatty, the calamari were sublime. I almost wanted to roll my eyes to the back of my head. One of the best fried calamari dishes I've had. For our entrées we ordered the papparadelle bolognese and the Monday night prime rib special, and split both of these so we could each have some of everything. The pasta was beef, pork, veal, tomatoes, garlic, basil and ricotta. It was served al dente and had a homemade flavor. The sauce was delicious and meaty and not overly sweet. It's the kind of pasta you'd want leftovers of, which there was plenty of because of the huge portion we were served. The Monday night prime rib was two dollars per ounce so we ordered a 16 ounce cut. It did not disappoint. It had an amazing savory crust and was cooked medium rare. Very flavorful. We would definitely come back for dinner here, everything that we tried was prepared and skillfully cooked with care. They have an obviously talented cooking staff.

Yelp
The BEST Caesar salad I have ever had in my entire life, the banana peppers were the perfect touch on my salad and chicken cutlet sandwich Every staff member we interacted with was so polite and attentive, they even switched out silverware out for each course. We sat right inside the doorway to the back patio and could see the water and feel the breeze. This place is amazing! My family will definitely be back!

Yelp
As noted by many other reviews this restaurant has a beautiful view of the Hudson River. Outside seating is well protected from the rain/sun and the inside has a beautifully decorated setting. There are, however, two factors that stops us from dining there a second time: quality of their food, and the very high prices. One could overlook the high prices if the food quality were exceptional. But sadly, we did not find that to be the case!

Yelp
Had a good meal here on a Friday night. It was busy which was good to see even for a gloomy, rainy night. The patio was still "open" as they had all the plastic coverings down. There was still a little breeze that came in off the water, but it was not unbearable to sit outside. For my meal I opted for the Shrimp Cocktail and Chilean Sea Bass which were both marked as GF on their menu but were not - they had to change out the pasta for mashed potatoes with the sea bass and the cocktail sauce included worcestershire sauce. The swap to potatoes was good as the potatoes had more flavor than the fish. The shrimp were very large and fresh, but it was sad I could not use the cocktail sauce and could only use the lemon and hot sauce. Net it was slightly disappointing to see the menu was mis-labeled. For drinks I had the No Wake which was very fresh, but just a little too sweet. My partner had The Sea Smoke which had great presentation and good flavor as well. Another party member had the special tequila cocktail of the night which was spicy but very tasty. Overall all 4 of us enjoyed the space and service - our waiter was very personable and funny, but the food was as little bland and most flavor in our meals came from the sides not the main meat.

Yelp
Fantastic! We live nearby and have meant to try this for ages, so glad we did. Started with the Ricotta Bread - not pictured as it was gone in a flash. All three entrees (ahi tuna, lobster risotto, Chilean sea bass) were delicious and enjoyed. Empty plate club. Service was very attentive with frequent water refills and a change of cutlery between appetizer and entrees - greatly appreciated. Thomas the waiter was a star - great service without being obtrusive. We look forward to returning!

Yelp
First of all, kudos to the hostess for reading the comments under "special occasion" and "special requests" on the Open Table reservation service they subscribe to. The couple seated just before us likely mentioned that it was their anniversary. As the hostess prepared to seat them she wished them a Happy Anniversary. When she returned and read our reservation, she said "let me check on your table." We had requested an outdoor table. She went to their deck and personally cleared a table for four, the only remaining vacant table on the deck, for our party of two, and returned to seat us. Nice! Service almost seemed over abundant initially. Two different workers promptly inquired if we desired water. The second was our assigned server, the first was likely a busser or a runner. With drink menus in hand my wife chose one of their Mocktails - Sweetwater Basil Bliss ($10) - watermelon juice, pineapple, basil, aloe, & ginger simple syrup. She was pleased that it was not overly sweet but commented that the basil leaf garnish appeared wilted and mangled. My choice was the Meiers Creek, Floatin On By, draft pilsner ($10) - it was clean and crisp. Moving right into appetizers, my wife selected the Tuna Tartare ($21), from their raw bar, with edamame puree, wakame, ponzu, and crispy shallot. My choice was the Spanish Octopus ($23) with fingerling potato, puttanesca jam, pistachio, and salsa verde. Both preparations were delicious, but I enjoyed all the flavors in my perfectly cooked octopus more than those in my taste of her tuna tartare. For our entrees, my wife ordered the Chilean Sea Bass ($47) from their regular menu while I decided to have the Diver Scallops ($55) on the Daily Features menu. The sea bass was light, moist, and perfectly cooked. Served on a bed of creamy fregola, the fish's flavor was further complemented by sherry glazed shallots and cherry tomatoes, with a frisée salad on top. My five large scallops were tender, flavorful, and served with a golden brown sear. The accompanying crispy capers added a contrasting texture while the grilled broccolini and spicy romesco sauce raised the scallops to yet another level of deliciousness. It being a celebratory occasion with beautiful al fresco weather and a view of the Hudson river, we were not about to pass up on dessert. To go with her Cappuccino ($6) my wife ordered the Housemade Cheesecake ($15) with a graham cracker crust and covered with a berry compote. The cheesecake was rich, light, flavorful, and very creamy. The berry compote was not overly sweet and with a bit of whipped cream and caramel drizzle on the plate there was no doubt the plate would be almost licked clean. I chose a dessert whose name and description had me baffled - Candy Bar ($15). I was trying to imagine how "chocolate brownie, caramel, wafer, vanilla sponge cake, toffee, feuilletine, chocolate shell, and smoked sea salt" could be presented. You'll have to look at my photos to fully understand and appreciate the creativeness and time consuming work that must have taken place to make this dessert. Impressive plating was only surpassed by what this "candy bar" looked like once you begin to eat it, and the variety of wonderful flavors you experienced. This being a popular place, the noise level can be a bit high, especially if you are seated near the bar, even on the deck. Service overall was excellent. All the front of the house staff were friendly and attentive to their responsibilities. Our total evening's experience is what has earned them their final star.

Yelp
Sea Smoke never disappoints. It's the perfect date night. Sitting outside at night is a beautiful view. We sat inside at the bar on this adventure and still had a great view to look at. The bartenders were incredibly attentive. I had mentioned a drink that I loved when I lived in Hawaii. The bartender did his best to recreate it for me and it was amazing. Lavender lemonade. They also had a drink where $5 of it went to Breast Cancer research for the month of October. Our oysters were delicious and the bartender took the time time hear what we liked and recommended three that were perfect for us. We love this restaurant. The service is always impeccable and the food is always delicious.

Yelp
Last night, my husband and I found ourselves in the Green Island (NY) area for a travel industry picnic. As dusk approached, the bugs became annoying so we bailed Peebles Park and decided to give Smoke Waterfront Grill, which was nearby, a try. What a lovely location, overlooking the Hudson River, with ample seating both inside and out. Easy parking, too, in the parking lot right in front of the restaurant. Loved the vibe, high end, a bit industrial but softened by greenery, airy, and very cool. We both ordered one of the specialty drinks, a focus on Blackberry and Tito's ($15). Great idea, just needed more seltzer to cut the sweetness of the blackberry liquor. Once we diluted the drink a bit, it was very refreshing and enjoyable. For me, the appetizer selection was dynamite. I will often order an appetizer as a starter and another one for my entrée. The Crispy Oysters (which I requested accompanied by roasted garlic aloi instead of sriracha remoulade, no problem), as shown in the photo, were a sizable portion. They were crisp on the outside and juicy inside. Excellent. I ordered the Spanish Octopus as my main course, an appropriate size for an appetizer and nicely tender. Yum. My husband selected the Strawberry Spinach Salad to begin his repast. It was good, nothing special but a refreshing choice on a warm and humid evening. The Jumbo Fried Shrimp were just that - jumbo! A healthy number of the perfectly prepared crustaceans; my companion had to bring some of them home (which is highly unusual for this ample eater). Thomas, our server, was very attentive - almost to a fault. All of this would have encouraged us to return, even meet friends and colleagues in the area. But the menu prices are over the top. Their oyster prices were much higher than other nice places. Lobster Roll $40? I think not. Diver Scallops $55? Uh, no. Our bill came to over $150 for two drinks, three appetizers, and one (inexpensive) entrée. Fine dining, btw, should include appropriate table linen (which they do not have). Just sayin'. Sadly, because of their price point for items we can get elsewhere for much less, we probably won't return.

Yelp
My husband and I came for our date night. Overall, amazing experience! The chef had about 90% of the dishes mastered and we really enjoyed ourselves. The one where I feel there could have been improvement was on a dish that came with polenta. The description of the polenta did not say creamy polenta and it came out almost like grits. I prefer a bit more firm polenta and was wondering if they accidentally made grits or creamy risotto instead of polenta. It was okay .. the rest of our dishes were fantastic! So no worries. The ambience and service is great and we will be back at some point. Price range - be ready to drop about $150-175 for two person experience.

Yelp
Went for Father's Day and my Wife's Birthday dinner...5pm seating sooooo they just opened 1 hour prior. Sit down and order drinks (which were very good only reason I'd give this place a 1 star). Order App and Entree(Crab Spaghetti)...10min goes bye and our waitress comes out to tell us that they are out of the Crab Spaghetti....the place was empty...it is a Sunday and you are out of 1/3 of your entree menu? They didn't even attempt to add a substitute....how about saying "we are out of crab, but we can make the dish with lobster or shrimp instead?".....nah no attempt. We asked for the check and left....the manager comes over and tells us they had a brunch sitting earlier in the day which is why they ran out...I looked at the brunch menu and crab is not on it.......sooooo come on. Manager did not bother to even offer to comp a drink or anything to get us to stay. Pretty pathetic experience overall.

Yelp
Amazing cocktails and food! The service is always very attentive. They usually have a few really good specialists as well. Go to drink is the black pearl. Favorite apps include the octopus and fried artichokes. Any of the fish entrees (sea bass, cod, etc.), so good!

Anonymous P.

Yelp
Extremely slow service, non-attentive waiter (only served one round of drinks in 2 hours), and had to wait for table despite reservation. Table placement was even disappointing. Constantly was bumped into. We were there for over 2 and a half hours total - it was uncomfortable watching everyone else get attended to before us. Food was not worth the price

Yelp
Recently, my husband and I had a reason to celebrate. We decided to take our celebration to Sea Smoke. It was a Monday around 5pm. We did not have reservations for a restaurant that recommends reservations. Fortunately, it was still early and we were able to be seated. What to eat? What a great seafood menu. Our server, Dave, was a huge help. He was very knowledgeable and great at his job. We wound up ordering the Spanish Octopus appetizer, which we shared. It was delish. We also shared the small seafood tower. It was amazing. I wished I could have had a drink but I volunteered to drive. I wished I wasn't so full, so I could have enjoyed some dessert. Instead, we ordered a mushroom flatbread (pizza) to take home for a late night snack. That was my only regret. The flatbread wasn't the same quality. I don't recommend it. One of the criticisms I saw on Yelp about Sea Smoke was the expense. It's a high end restaurant. The decor is nice. Located on the river, it offers beautiful views. It was a good place for a celebration.

Yelp
Yes it's very expensive and definitely a special occasion place for those who don't have an unlimited budget. We did however get top notch service and delicious food. We went for our anniversary. We were asked if we were there for a special occasion and told them. We were wished Happy Anniversary by several staff members and given a $10 gift card to come back. A nice gesture that may pay for 1/2 of an appetizer, lol!!! We started with some specialty cocktails. I loved my blackberry flavored vodka drink and my husband enjoyed his bourbon cocktail. They were not skimpy on the alcohol. Our appetizers were some raw oysters and mussels in garlic sauce with the only bread we had that evening. Nothing is complimentary not even bread. The oysters are on point and the mussels absolutely delicious. The baguette was wonderful to soak up the garlic, mussel sauce. Our entrees took a while and they apologized but we were enjoying the relaxing atmosphere and not in a hurry. My scallops with squid ink risotto was filled with flavor. The scallops large and plump. My husband had a seared tuna entree. It was cooked perfectly and presented over a special potato salad. We declined dessert for this evening. I look forward to coming back on a nice day and sitting on the large deck overlooking the river.

Yelp
Made a reservation for a Birthday dinner using OpenTable. When we arrived, we waited for the hostess for a few minutes, seemed we were getting there as they were opening for the evening. Our reservation was on a Monday at 6pm. Seated by the window/garage door which had a great view. The restaurant is decorated beautifully and yet not overwhelming with the theme. Our waiter came by immediately asking if we wanted water. And explained the drink specials. There is a special that 1/2 the proceeds goes to the Humane Society. We ordered Ricotta bread for an appetizer. It came out hot and delicious. Amanda ordered the Tuna and I ordered the chicken. Both were very good. We walked the deck as it was a beautiful evening. Our waiter wished Amanda a Happy Birthday. It is a little on the high end so expect to pay a few more dollars for dinner and drinks. We would come back just as more of a special day.

Mary S.

Yelp
Blown away by the service and the food. It was our wedding anniversary and I noted that when I booked the reservation. The lovely hostess and wonderful server acknowledged it right away and brought us complimentary glasses of champagne. They sat us at a lovely table and we felt like they were celebrating with us! This was our 38th wedding anniversary and they helped make it one of the most memorable ones. Thank you for making the evening so special!

Chris H.

Yelp
The food was good but the service was not the best. It took at least 15 minutes to get a drink order. We ordered dessert and had to cancel it because it didn't show up, The hostess gave us a gift card but the experience was not very good.

Yelp
Owned by the same management as 677 Prime in Albany and Toro Cantina in Colonie, this Mediterranean focused seafood restaurant is located in the Starbuck Island. Sea Smoke Waterfront Grill is part of an island consisting of commercial building with multiples businesses set among more than 250 new apartments on the southern half of Center Island, in the Hudson River between Green Island and Troy. Bisected by the Green Island Bridge, the project was financed by my employer, M&T Bank. The menu consists of raw bar, Mediterranean-inspired seafood, pasta, sandwiches and a wide variety of wine. We ordered tenders for my son, a chicken sandwich, lobster linguini and crab cakes. The sandwich looked bulky with a crunchy crust but just melted in your mouth. It is one of the most tender chicken meats that I have ever eaten. The crab cakes were good but I have had one better. The linguini was good as well. The restaurant has Great ambience, a nice view of the river and good service.

Yelp
Updated review from our 6/23/24 visit. Nothing short of stellar for our Sunday Brunch honestly. Drinks were nicely made, service was top notch & the food made a 180 degree turn from our last visit. We ordered several entrees with each being comparable to the next. Managed to grab a picture of the beef short rib dish. We recommend the French toast & beef short rib dish. We'll definitely be back again!

Yelp
Four of us had dinner there this past Friday. The place is very welcoming and the service couldn't be better. The food was exceptional.

Yelp
Service slow and uncaring Food below par Boutique price Unfortunate. Beautiful scenery

Yelp
Staff can be rude sometimes. Food is overpriced. The entree is more like an appetizer and the sides are all a la carte. Bar is OK. Be prepared to spend $300 for a dinner for two.

Yelp
Way too loud and expensive. Non responsive to messages or returning calls. Tried reaching out several times and never heard anything back

Yelp
I love when new exciting places open up. I especially love new places with unique concepts, intriguing menus, and awesome locations. Sea Smoke was a place I knew I needed to try immediately. I love upscale dining experiences and I certainly love seafood. First off, the service and attention we were given by the team and the general manager were above and beyond anything to be expected. You can tell that they are working towards being the best they can be, and the GM, Quang, was by the table with a notebook taking any feedback we possibly had. It was thoughtful and something you don't find just anywhere. The dinner experience was fantastic, and I loved the pace of it. We were there for over two hours and it was just lovely. The ambiance was great, a bright and lively interior, some good music playing, I can't wait to check them out in the spring and summer with the gorgeous riverfront patio. We browsed the menus, and I opted to start with a bottle of wine, the prices were ok with several options under $50 - which is hard to find at upscale dining establishments. All the cocktails sounds great too, and there was a decent beer selection. On the table you can find a "market price" menu. The oysters were $3-$4, and the Tableside Salt-Crusted Presentation was $40. To start my meal, I opted for 5 oysters, one of each offering, and the hamachi crudo to share. The oysters were great and I thought the mignonette was very good. The hamachi crudo could have used some acid and additional flavor, but all around it was enjoyable - warning, the chilis are spicy and one got my eyes watering. My boyfriend is a strictly land-eater, but he had plenty of options. He chose to have the Burrata Margherita Pizza for an app. The pizza is very thick and bread like, but it was great for a picky eater. For dinner, I couldn't pass up the tableside salt crusted presentation. The feature was Icelandic cod. The presentation was amazing to watch, the treatment of the fish resulted in the most delicate fish I have ever eaten. The sauce added great flavor, the roasted cabbage was perfectly seasoned and charred, the potatoes were under-seasoned which had me wishing for a little more sauce, but otherwise an amazing dish. My boyfriend ordered the burger, which he really loved. He could tell that it was made with high quality ingredients. Overall, I was very pleased with my visit and encourage you to check it out! They have a few things to work on, which we communicated and the minor critiques were welcomed by the management. I can guarantee that they are working to make this one of the top dining experiences in the area. Everyone always asks prices when you go to somewhere pricy - we ordered oysters, two appetizers, two entrees, a bottle of wine and three top shelf mixed drinks, $179 before tip. Honestly, not too bad!

Yelp
Only if you catch a good night, will you be impressed. It is a hit and miss at times. When it is a hit they knock it out of the park.

Yelp
I went last year for my birthday but couldn't get an outside table so we ate inside. Didn't love it but never stopped thinking about how nice the outside looked. Went back again for this year's birthday and remembered why I didn't love it. It was SO expensive, which is fine if you deliver on taste, quality and value, but they do not. We all got the sea bass based on the waiter's glowing recommendation and it truly was just meh. If I am paying $50 for a piece of fish with no sides, no salad, and no BREAD (which could have covered over a multitude of sins) , you need to deliver on taste. Out of salt, fat, acid and heat they delivered on one...fat. They did serve it with a lemon so I could sort of remedy the acid, and I might have been able to remedy the salt if there were any on the table or if we had seen our waiter before our meal was almost done. (The service was good in general, he just didn't come around after the meal was served). For $50 I want my tastebuds to sing! The one thing I was excited about was the Candy Bar dessert. I know it's popular, I know it's yummy, I remembered it fondly from last year...but after one bite I came to the conclusion that I remembered coming to last year - that they found a way to create a really expensive Ho Ho/Ring Ding/Yodel snack cake.

Yelp
Our experience here at the Sea Smoke was great! The ambiance and food was really good. The drinks were delicious and our server was very nice. Great Experience!

Yelp
So, I've been thinking about this before writing a negative review but it's time. We had a MOMENTOUS occasion to celebrate - my Mother turned 102! Yes, that's right, 102. We took 17 people to dine at Sea Smoke and while the food was very good (star), the management and how they handled us was so DISAPPOINTING. Why? Well for starters, we hired a bag piper to play a few quick Irish tunes and they would not allow her in the restaurant when it was mostly empty inside. We also invited our Videographer to dinner to capture the highlights but sadly, there weren't many. Did they make a BIG FUSS over her Birthday, like bring a piece of cake with a candle on it (that's the least they could have done)?? No, not even that. Nothing but a pat on the back (figuratively speaking). My nephew ordered the Tower (which is a bit pricey) and the oysters were not fresh. He should have turned them back but didn't want to make a fuss. Overall, we spent some serious bucks and barely were acknowledged for our business. Had that been me as a Restaurant Manager/Owner, I would have tripped over our multiple tables to make it extra special. Sadly, they lost a local family who has patronized them before. It would be nice if they'd make up for this otherwise it's truly TIME FOR A CHANGE!

Yelp
We went here to celebrate our daughter's birthday. The waite staff "Sara" was awesome. It was obvious that the kitchen was struggling. Our seafood entrees were terrible. The rice in my paella was way under cooked and the hunks of fish were severely overdone. My wife had the lobster pasta dish and the pasta was not warm and undercooked. I had a piece of her lobster and it tasted fishy. We also had a couple of mussels in the paella that weren't good. The GM didn't comp our entree and was very apologetic for the quality of the entrees. Several folks commented on how good the short ribs were. So I will give them another try but probably go for short ribs the next time. I usually look at reviews before going but looked after our dinner and found two weeks earlier was a review with the same complaints. It's too bad because I really wanted this place to survive because it is very close to where my daughter lives. Hopefully they can correct the issues with the kitchen because the staff and atmosphere was great.

Yelp
What horrible service. Our waitress was curt, uninformed and not very accommodating. When we requested items she gave us a flat no. After spending over a thousand dollars our oysters were rancid from the seafood tower. The whole place is so uptight. I enjoy good food. So my advice to the manager is to relax and cater to the clients instead of enforcing rules.

Yelp
Top-notch experience at a beautifully decorated restaurant on the water. Seasmoke is modern, yet perfectly serves up classic cocktails and uniquely offers fresh seafood dishes with a beautiful view of Troy over the Hudson River from Starbuck Island. This is a treat, but you get what you pay for. Don't expect to get a great view, service, and quality ingredients while paying TGIF prices. Over the past summer, I've gone to this restaurant 7 times. Every time I went was a delight. Whether it was for dinner with my granddaughter, a date night with my wife, a meal with friends or a cocktail with a client, Seasmoke delivers quality food and service. On my last visit, for a cocktail, I got the Man O War. A balanced mezcal and habanero tequila cocktail that is spicy and slightly sweet. My wife had the peach preserve with a bourbon base; both were nicely composed. We typically get the grilled octopus or the burrata skillet for an appetizer. I highly recommend the burgers, but if you want seafood, the Chilean Seabass is perfection. Anyone who gives this restaurant less than a 4-star is simply letting out some frustration. There is no way this place is less than a 4-star rating from an objective person. I highly recommend Seas Smoke Waterfront Grill.

Yelp
Food was outstanding, service outstanding, interior very interesting, only thing that could have improved the day was to be outside on the waterfront patio . The apps oyster, calamari, bread , were so well made and portions were a good price to portion ratio. There were to many of us to mention the difference plates ordered , but I can safely say NO ONE WAS DISAPPOINTED. Even if you can not sit outside to enjoy the water, go and enjoy the SEA SMOKE!

Yelp
The first time I came to sea smoke was in the summer of 2023. I try this place again tonight with my family to celebrate my sister's birthday. There were four of us. when we arrived, our table is ready, and our server came promptly. We ordered Saratoga water - my sister and I tried the red sea and high tide cocktail drinks. The Red Sea was delightful, sort of tasted like vodka with cranberry but high class. The high tide was awful - to Me it tasted like hi-c or Fanta with a dash of tequila. We have this drink to our friend who drinks anything. He also ordered peroni. For appetizers we tried the arancini-pretty awful; dry, tasteless, and instead of prosciutto they used bacon it seemed (I make my own so I know). We also tried the kale and beet salad, panzenella salad, and crab cakes. I wouldn't order any of these again. They were all underwhelmingly bland and suffered taste. We also ordered a side of french fries, which I wanted with truffle oil. I asked the server if this was possible, and she said she would ask the kitchen. When our appetizers were about to arrive, I reaffirmed if our request was made possible. She said OK let me go check with the kitchen , and shortly after are truffle fries came out. They tasted like they were frozen french fries, although the travel flavor, it was good. The real star of this appetizer show was the mussels appetizer. This truly blew me away and I would order it again ten times. Very flavorful, a perfect amount, and made an impression. For entrées we each ordered our own - I, the tuna entrée, my mother, the lobster roll, the paella, and the lobster agnolotti. The lobster roll was the winger here; it came in warm or cold option and we chose the warm with butter. A side of fries is included. The fries are clearly frozen here - opt to order a side salad instead. The tuna was not medium rare. It was well done. I specifically asked for medium rare and also this is how the chef recommends it; seems that the chef doesn't know how to cook? Because this is well done - no pink at all. The potatos and Brussels on this dish very underwhelming. The lobster agnolotti was okay as well; two pieces of fresh lobster (don't know where from?) surrounded by broth/butter based sauce and homemade lobster agnolotti pasta. The pasta was cold and a bit hard, should have been softer and in my opinion more flavorful, but still good (I make my own pasta). The least favorited entree was the paella. The rice was embarrassingly undercooked. The seafood and flavor ratio was fine- but I can't get over how crunchy the RICE was in the rice dish. I'm still chewing on it hours after this meal. For desert I had the the espresso yo self - a very sweet espresso martini - I'd skip next time, not worth the calories at all. The staff was not tentative. Forgot things often and overlooked dirty dishes on the table or refills. I would solely come back for the mussels. Over all a 2.5 on what should be a great restaurant (at least what their prices say). Totally not worth the visit if you're looking for a good meal. Ambiance 8/10 - nice decor but gross bathrooms see pics, service 5/10 not at tentative food 2/5 not hot or impressive.

Yelp
Not bad, not bad at all. I LOVE seafood, I just adore the different flavors, textures and creativity seafood can give a Chef. With that said the Seafood is so delicate it can go from good to bad in a second. So this date night we did appetizers and dinner. For the appetizers, I did the special and got 6 oysters. They had a fantastic variety, cheers for the West Coast option! They were fresh, and properly shucked and the presentation was perfect..price was a little high but $4-5 per oyster which is about 20% too high. For dinner, I had the ahi Tuna and my wife had the Lobster Rissoto. The ahi Tuna was a generous portion and was perfectly seared with the crumb crust placed over the shredded cabbage which had Just enough seasoning and heat in the teriyaki reduction sauce to warm the mouth. Ahi Tuna had fantastic flavor and color. The Lobster Rissoto was amazing, buttery, with a savory lobster taste. The peas popped in your mouth for that added sweetness. Perfect balance and the risotto has the perfect bite and creamy texture, VERY filling. Well done!! Over all the dinner was just what you would expect from a well run, higher-end seafood restaurant. Well-executed dishes with the fish perfectly cooked and from a fresh supplier. I give this them an A!

Yelp
My food was served cold and when I did try to advise the staff about it she advised me that it didn't seem cold to her‍

Yelp
This is one of the worst dining experiences I've experienced nationally and internationally. If you like seafood, avoid this restaurant. Both the Barramundi and Chilean sea bass were spoiled, smelled and tasted bad and inedible. The manager was rude and overcharged us until we finally brought out a calculator to show her the overcharge. The dinner was unpleasant and distasteful on every level. I attempted to contact the owner to no avail. Simple summary: AVOID THIS RESTAURANT

Yelp
So many thoughts about this place! Super cute, upscale atmosphere. I would have loved to sit outside, but the weather did not cooperate. However, the indoor seating was great and I would come and just hang at the bar sometime. The menu has great options, with plenty of seafood featured. I liked the grilled octopus, although it was a little overpowered by what it was paired with. The pistachio cake was divine. Run don't walk even if you just get that. Overall, my only complaint is the prices. It's worth it for a treat or celebratory night out, but some of the prices could have been a bit lower in my opinion. I will be back to try their oysters during happy hour!

Yelp
We went here tonight for a late birthday dinner. The atmosphere is nice- upscale but not stuffy. We were properly seated. Our waiter was attentive but not intrusive. We had the artichoke app- not what we expected but it was outstanding. We ordered then sea bass and the branzino. Both had completely different flavor profiles and both were a generous portion, cooked perfectly, and delicious. We will be back.

Yelp
I don't usually post reviews but I feel for the price you pay to eat and drink here the food should be better. We ordered the octopus appetizer for $23 and it was one piece of octopus on a decorated plate.. while it was good, I feel it was a pretty sad looking appetizer for the price. I ordered the chicken dish, which was good, but nothing out of this world also for $28. My friend had ordered the fried shrimp and she let me try it. The shrimp texture seemed overcooked and the aftertaste was fishy. The ambiance is nice, but I feel this place is highly overrated. I would consider this more of an occasion place and I don't feel you're getting that experience for what you pay.

Yelp
This restaurant has a beautiful view of Troy right on the water. The salmon I had was as good as my own mothers. My only issue was how long my group had to wait for a table.

Yelp
If I could give this a zero star I would. The most uninviting, stuck up attitude. I have frequented many fine restaurants and was treated poorly by three young ladies who briefly told me dogs are not allowed to dine outside. Without letting me explaining he is a service dog. We never had any issue with any restaurants. I was looking forward to eating at the restaurant for a while and was really looking forward to the birthday dinner reservation. The reviews for the restaurant was not stellar but I was eager to have dinner there. However the trio of girls made me feel so bad with their elitist attitude like you need to leave was in bad taste. We ended up in another nearby restaurant where we were welcomed.

Yelp
Great food, great service. We celebrated a birthday for my son there and they were so attentive and kind. The calamari was delicious. My son had the sea bass for dinner and he said it was perfect. It was all around a great experience and the restaurant its self is really lovely with a great ambiance.
