We visited Craftsteak for a special occasion, our fifth wedding anniversary. And it was absolutely a magical evening. The food, the service, the ambiance - everything!
The aura of the restaurant was of course, perfect, for a beautiful and cozy anniversary dinner, with low/warm lighting and classy wood, leather, and gold accents.
Onto the main event - the meal!
First off, the bread that comes out before your meal is delightful itself. We had to pause on it (which was hard to do) and make sure we didn't fill ourselves up on bread, because we had a lot of food on the way.
My husband ordered the chef's three-course wagyu menu (and he let me taste it all, of course!).
The three courses began with the wagyu tartare which literally just melted in your mouth with deliciousness. It is raw, as tartares are, which might seem weird to some at first being that it's beef. But the quality of the meat is so high that it can be safely eaten raw - so don't worry about that at all.
The entree was a wagyu steak that was so tender, you barely needed a knife to cut it! My husband chose to add the bordelaise sauce which was glorious with the perfectly cooked steak.
His three-course meal also came with two sides, and he chose an exquisite potato purée that accompanied the steak flawlessly, as well as the bordelaise Brussels sprouts which had bits of sublime bacon weaved throughout.
The third course was the dessert, and we asked our server to surprise us with whatever his favorite was. When he brought it out and said it was "monkey bread" we were super surprised - but this is NOT your grandma's monkey bread. It was so elevated and decadently rich and sweet. It did NOT last long between my husband and myself sharing!
I went a little more a la carte with my ordering, as I knew I would be able to try all my husband's wagyu courses (and dessert!).
I started with the Maine Lobster Bisque which was absolutely divine with its silky texture and rich lobster accents.
For my entree I ordered the salmon with couscous salad and sea beans. I also had a little of my husband's potato puree and Brussels sprouts on the side - so don't worry - my plate was not scantily filled even though I ordered a la carte!
Aside from all the food being HEAVENLY, our server was also absolutely the best. He let us know all of his favorite items if we were deciding between a few, and offered great suggestions to pair with our orders.
Although this meal was a little spendy by the end, it absolutely showed its worth in the quality of the ingredients, upscale environment, and impeccable service.
I wish I could submit a rating of 10/5, but I can only do 5/5, so that will have to do :-)
If you're looking to find a gorgeous place for a special event meal in Las Vegas, I would definitely recommend Craftsteak a thousands times over!
