Stopped by Seaboard Wine on a Thursday and was really impressed with how polite, helpful, and knowledgeable the staff was. The selection is well curated and easy to navigate without feeling overwhelming. To top it off, their Thursday wine special was amazing, an absolute bargain! Highly recommend stopping by!

Had a wonderful time here. The staff was beyond friendly and knowledgeable. Did a wine tasting and there was a large selection to choose from. They also serve your tasting in nice glasses which makes a difference. Snacks were also offered. They just made it feel like home and it was far from some of the other snooty wine places I’ve visited. They had a different selection of wines that you can’t find in your supermarket. Fun area that you can walk to a few places. Would recommend and I will be back.

Google
Absolutely a gem! Once we found this spot, we’re never going anywhere else to buy our wine. Andrew and Jeff are phenomenal - their knowledge of wines, background and education helps us not only find wines we enjoy, but help expand on our current pallet. Their Saturdays wine tastings are also not to be missed.

Ive never been inside the store. My girlfriend told me they carry my favorite Sparkling Gamay Rose. I just ordered 4 bottles for my birthday but I don’t drive and called the store to see if I could uber package if that was okay. They said yes and I hit submit and now my wine in route to me. Great customer service and easy online ordering.

Google
I do not drink much wine but I do enjoy making cocktails at home and I don’t know any other shop in Raleigh with a better selection of vermouth, other cocktail ingredient wines, bitters, and cocktail paraphernalia in one location. One of my favorite local bartenders turned me on to this shop and I’m so grateful. Looking around the wine selection is also great and the staff are super helpful.

Google
I really loved this spot when they were in Downtown Raleigh at Seaboard Station but love them even more that they’re in Five Points now! When the manfriend is at High Park, I can belly up to the tasting bar and enjoy new-to-me bottles by the glass with Corbett and crew. They have a huge retail selection and accessible price points for every style. Doggo friendly, too!

Google
This place offers a great selection of wines, and you can purchase flights or bottles with a $10 corkage fee to enjoy on-site. However, during my visit today, the featured wine flight for $20 was quite disappointing—I couldn't even finish a glass. The worst part was when I ordered a bottle of wine and requested it to be chilled; I waited and waited, and no one acknowledged that it was forgotten. I finally gave up on waiting for it and after settling my bill, I left feeling quite dissatisfied. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be returning. My first visit had a bartender who genuinely cared, but the two staff members working today seemed to lack any understanding of customer service.

Google
Great company, that takes great care of their customer! Extremely grateful & appreciative for their time and attention to detail on shipping out items. Highly recommend!!!!!!!

Yelp
This wine store has a great selection of wines. On Saturday's from 2-5PM they have a wine tasting for $10 (there are other flight options available too). My mom and I both chose to do the flight which consisted of 4 wine samples and my husband ordered a glass of white wine. The staff members that we interacted with were friendly and knowledgeable. We had a fun time. Seaboard Wine Warehouse is definitely worth checking out.

Yelp
Who doesn't like Wine down Wednesdays?! I stumbled upon this fabulous wine shop nestled in Highpark Village after work and I am so happy I did. They have an amazing selection of wines and wine accessories. You can grab a bottle off of the shelf and relax in the outside seating available. Don't worry if you don't finish, you can take it with you as they have corkage (with a fee ofc). There are also wine flights available which is what I opted for. The staff were so sweet and informative while providing excellent service. This is such a cute space to unWINE (hehe)!

Yelp
If you're looking for a go-to wine spot this could be it! The staff is excited to help you find a bottle you'll like and you can even try some at the small bar area. They also do rotating wine flights and have a few outdoor seats to hang out at. Go check it out!

Yelp
On the 5th day of Black History Month, my friends and I stopped by Seaboard Wine Warehouse during our visit to Raleigh and we're subjected to the rudest business owner I've ever encountered! On a scale of 1-10 I would rate her behavior a zero. We entered Seaboard Wine Warehouse and headed to the back of the warehouse for a tasting and we were told that we couldn't do a tasting because they already had 2 people doing a tasting and they changed the maximum capacity to 12 guests due to the pandemic. Well, after gazing around the room I counted 10ppl including us! I proceeded to say well we're under your 12 person limit that isn't posted anywhere in your wine shop or website. The owner then gave us a spiel about Covid-19 and being unmasked although she had 2 unmasked patrons sitting at the bar. We were dumbfounded. She proceeded to say we could purchase a bottle, but we couldn't drink it in her establishment. Then, her employee recommended a more "hipster or black friendly" wine establishment for us. Never have I ever experienced this type of blatant racism. I wish the owner would have just said, hey I can't service 6 black girls at once because it's not the image we are going for here a seaboard. Instead of "pretending" it was a fear of CoVid-19! Because if that was the case we could have all produced our vaccine cards.

Yelp
We found the wine warehouse online and decided to stop for a look around and a glass of wine. The location seemed ideal for this establishment, ample parking, outdoor seating and a restaurant next door. They have wine from all over the country, their selection would give total wine a run for their money. I was very impressed with the vast selection as well as the knowledge of those working there. Unfortunately they did not sell wine from the corner of country I was inquiring about but I did find a petit sirah with the help of the wonderful gentlemen I was talking with. They do have a very good wine menu by the glass or they also serve flights. We did state a few to pick a winner and stayed for a glass outside at the table to enjoy the cool evening. They apparently host tastings as well as classes there also, I was very impressed and happy to find a place I will go to when the need to find something specific arises. Cheers!

Yelp
This is in a plaza and there's a ton of parking near the establishment. It's a cute wine shop with a great selection of vermouth, wines, and cocktail gifts. The wines are organized by countries. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable about the wines. In the back there's a wine tasting from around 12pm-4pm on Saturdays not sure about the other days. There was a free wine tastings with 3 whites and 3 red wines. Great location for trying new wines and they gift wrap the bottles for you around Christmas for an additional fee.

Yelp
While on a girl's trip in Raleigh, my friends and I stopped at Seaboard Wine Warehouse for a "tasting." Needless, to say we couldn't taste anything and we couldn't even make it to the tasting area after the owner and her employee rudely stopped us in our tracks. We expressed that we were there for a tasting for 6 people, and the belligerent owner proceeded to say that she couldn't accommodate us although there were only 2 people at the bar. Instead of her being solution based and asking us if we could maybe do the tasting in groups of three she quickly tried to usher us out of her establishment. We frequent wineries and vineyards very often and I have never encountered this type of experience. It was disheartening that she was so unwelcoming.

Yelp
Decided to go to Seaboard Wine Warehouse as part of a birthday girls trip. We were excited to try the establishment as the star rating on Yelp hyped it up. This excitement quickly changed as we were rudely greeted at the door by who I'm assuming to be an owner. Coming from a mask mandated State we were all prepared to keep our facial masks on our person, and entered with them on. My cousin was adjusting her face mask and was verbally accosted by one of the women in charge. After the harsh greeting, we were then told that we were unable to be serviced due to Covid and other new rules that had not been posted on the door or store website(we always check businesses online prior to patronizing). We asked about their tasting procedures but the owner kept citing Covid and not being able to serve us, even though other patrons were maskless and being serviced at the bar. Coming from a state that had/has strict Covid guidelines we understand procedures, but also coming from the business model, there was no opportunity to think outside of the box to support future patrons. Had the owner offered a solution, such as, due to my capacity, I can do tastings in sections, or I can suggest you guys be on a wait and when the party leaves, we can best accommodate, or even offer some top selling wines to purchase to go. None of those scenarios took place, instead, we were ran out of an establishment with the feeling that because we were African American women that we weren't deserving of service or worth a bottle of wine.

Yelp
We came here looking for some Mad Housewife and left empty handed. The help, on the other hand, was very interested in seeing if they could get it for us. They took down my phone number and said they'd call. "Yeah - I've been down that road before" I thought. Or so I thought. Kudos for the phone call 3 days later explaining the distributorship issues and not to expect them to be able to carry any Mad Housewife in the near future. This place was true to its word where other places are all show.

Yelp
I attended a wine tasting event and all of the wines featured were Spanish box wine. At first I thought oh god this is going to be like the boxed wine Franzia that we drank in college. I was amazed how great these wines were.i ended up buying four boxes of wine. The boxes are more like recycled cartons but it has no effect on the taste... At least not mine since I drank them within a few days, lol. The people that work there are amazing too! They were super patient with my questions and gave me a thorough rundown on each wine I tasted. The store is beautifully organized with every type of wine you can think of. I also bought some handy plastic wine glasses for the summer. I learned they've been open for years and independently own which is nice. I've been back twice already and suggest you try them out next time you're looking to buy wine!

Yelp
Great selection but... if any of the following are true you are golden: you are in their wine club; they know you; you look and/or act rich and are buying a case of wine, they will fall all over you. If you are an average looking schlub (like yours truly) and just want to be in and out and buy a single average priced bottle of wine don't except much in the way of attention or service.

Yelp
Been looking for Terra Andina Carmenere ever since I had it at two local restaurants down town. Searched high and low and could not find this stuff anywhere! I talked to several places to see if they could order it and the answer was always a resounding "no". Emailed Seaboard Wine Warehouse to see if they could order the wine and they were like "sure, no problem!" They got the wine ordered and delivered to them within a week and I was able to pay for the case over the phone. Picking up the case of wine was super simple and we were in and out in 2 minutes! The wine is delicious and was a great value.

Yelp
This place is great. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and has always steered me in the right direction when buying wine. I've never had a bad bottle that was recommended by their staff. The red-tag discounts are awesome too! You can save $$$ by utilizing the 25% off Red-Tag dicount on the case, including mix-n-match with other red tag items. All-in-all, if you like wine and want to try new wines, check out this place; the staff will help you pick out a good bottle in the price range you want . I've recently moved to Durham and I am hoping they will open a store out here :)

Yelp
My dad and sister are in the wine business, so they keep my bar pretty-well stocked. That doesn't stop me from visiting Doug and the good folks at Seaboard Wine Warehouse though. The staff is always friendly and helpful. They carry unique wines you won't find at the chains. And why shop at a corporate wine store when you can support a local business that goes out of their way to help clients find tasty wines that don't break the bank? I have champagne taste on a beer budget, so I need all the help I can get. Seaboard carries plenty of high-end wines but also has some great buys for under $10. They order your favorite sipper if they don't carry it. The wines are grouped by region for easy browsing, and you'll find a nice selection of port and dessert wines. I've also noticed a small beer section. Wines purchased by the case receive a 10% discount (15% on Thursdays). Look for red tags that offer great deals, too. I'm pretty comfortable with my wine knowledge--I know what I like and I'm not ashamed to buy a $5 bottle of wine if it's good. But I can still be intimidated when I walk into a store and face the myriad of labels, languages, and bottles staring back at me (not to mention the wine experts). But I never feel any question is too dumb to ask the Seaboard staff. When I lived closer and visited more regularly, I loved that a couple of the clerks remembered what I liked and told me when a new sparkling arrived. They'll remember you too, when you become a regular! And be sure to give Gruner, the store's furry mascot, a pat on the head when you see him.

Yelp
Approachable, well-stocked, locally owned wine store with knowledgable, friendly staff. Don't hesitate to ask for help. A variety of price points suit all budgets. There's no reason to go elsewhere (not even your local grocery)! Joined the "frequent buyers club" and enjoy extra discounts and credits, not to mention a record of purchases (which helps when you don't remember the name of the wine but want to buy another bottle, or case!) The "wine bar" in the back of the shop hosts free tastings on Saturdays and by the glass during the week for very reasonable prices. I believe $4 for a 6 oz. pour. Stop by before you pick up your Peace China to go or before sitting down for a meal at 18 Seaboard.

Yelp
I happened to come across this place by accident and I am so glad I did! They have a fantastic wine selection and the staff is very knowledgeable. My wine intelligence is low, so I'm always asking for help. The staff was right there for me! Another bonus is that they do gift wrapping. I got a bottle of wine for my neighbors and had it gift wrapped. It came out great and my neighbors loved it! I look forward to trying out the different wines here and fortunately, their prices are reasonable!

Yelp
I love this place! The staff is fantastic from Doug (owner) on down! They definitely know what they are talking about - and the best thing is they get to know you - so when friends go there to pick up a bottle of wine for say a birthday the staff can help them pick the right one. My favorite thing about Seaboard is that they have a really well stocked selection of Austrian wines - being from Austria myself that's a little link to home. And if you have never had Austrian wine: try it! Especially Gruner Veltliner and some of the Red Blends!! You'll be pleasantly surprised! Also get on their mailing list so that you know when they have their frequent and fabulous sales! This place is totally worth driving into town for!

Yelp
Not only is this a well stocked location to pick up bottles for your festivities, it is also a good place to take visiting family members who love wine! There is a tasting bar in the back room with free wine, beer, and cider tastings on Saturday afternoons from noon until 4pm. The back room has several tables with wine corks embedded in them with comfy chairs for you to relax during a tasting. The walls are covered with beautiful riddling racks that are available for purchase.

Yelp
I absolutely have to give these guys a serious 5 star rating. In our quest to find a large bottle of champagne for a wedding prop, we visited countless different wine stores around the Triangle. I won't name any of the other stores as this was probably a difficult request. We needed a 9L (salmanazar if you want to get technical) or larger bottle of champagne to use as a guest book, with the intention of opening it on an anniversary. Every store we talked to took our information and promised to get us details and quotes as soon as possible, with the caveat that bottles of those size are difficult to procure. However, Seaboard was more than willing to help and seemed much more confident that they would be able to get something. Two weeks later I get a call from them, and lo and behold, they did track down a bottle. To top it off, they even found a bottle of sparkling out of the Schramsberg winery in Napa that my then fiancee and I toured and loved. Perfect, just perfect. The bottle was delivered when promised and barely any markup for the special order. The most solid 5 star review I have ever given. These guys really went above and beyond. P.S. - I never received a single call back from any other store.

Yelp
I love this place! I used to come here on Saturdays to taste different wines and buy the ones on display. Great customer service and they know their wines! They also send out advertisements via e-mail every now and again. The best part about this wine warehouse compared to others is they have a computer database that remembers the names of the wines you purchased in the past in case you forget. Awesome!! :)

Yelp
Lovely, unpretentious, friendly place. I'm not a wine connoisseur by any means, but I can see that they carry terrific variety and the staff is always knowledgeable. I've gone their for inexpensive wine that I want to make sure doesn't suck, and also for special occasions when I want to have something really amazing. Seaboard has never disappointed.

Yelp
I really wanted to love the Seaboard Wine Warehouse but the service killed it for us. Great wine selection, decent prices and great ambience but the service completely fell flat. We've had this wine mart on our list to checkout and we happened to stop in on a Saturday when they have free wine tastings until 4pm. The wine tasting room is cute and reminds me of boutique tasting rooms in Glen Ellen, Ca. Anyhow the person pouring the wine was totally deadpan and had zero personality or enthusiasm. We felt unwelcome and intrusive and as other joined the tasting area there were several raised eyebrows and exchanged looks among all of us as the vibe was almost awkward. Everyone left quickly and I didn't see anyone making purchases. Overall I feel that if this person were more dynamic or friendly the guests/customers may have lingered in the shop or made purchases. I have a feeling they cater to regulars or wine club members. They have so much potential so maybe we'll try again and hope for a better experience.

Yelp
Cute wine store near downtown--"warehouse" might be a bit of an overstatement; but "shop" would be an understatement. They have a larger selection than a lot of the downtown wine shops. The staff isn't the most friendly, but there is an awesome little bar in the back where they do tastings or you can buy wine by the class.

Yelp
Not only is Seaboard Wine an ultra-convenient CSA pick up spot, but the staff is ridiculously friendly and they have a great selection of wines! Sign up for bonuses after you spend $500!

Yelp
I come to North Carolina about once or twice a year for Government training at NC State University. I may train-by-day but I decide to run around and try out the different wine bars, wine tasting centers, wineries and wine retailers around the area, therefore, I came here on a random wine whim, as I do often (obviously a wino). Seaboard Wine and Tasting Bar was my very first wine tasting bar that I have ever visited in North Carolina, which was great because they definitely set the standard high. I believe they have been open for about 18 years and is the longest running independent wine store in Raleigh., North Carolina. As a common wino, I have been to hundreds of wine retailers and I would have to say that this gem of a warehouse has a huge selection of South African wines (favorite). The tasting bar is open from Monday through Friday from 12:00pm - 7:00pm and Saturday from 12:00pm through 4:00pm (free tastings on Saturdays). At the tasting bar they had about 8 different wines open for tasting. At the time they weren't doing flights so it was sample pours and wine by the glass. They now have wine flights at 1.5 ounces for three tastes. I am a huge talker so the lady behind the tasting bar had a glass of red wine with me and we just talked the hour and half I was there away on traveling and wine, of course! I would highly recommend coming here; especially to the college students who are experimenting with wines for a dinner date or party, these employees know their wine!

Sally Ann B.

Yelp
Large selection of wines, wine tastings provided by wine distributors are informative, however the store staff is non engaging nor goes out of their way to be helpful. Much prefer the Raleigh Wine Shop where you are welcomed with huge smiles, cherrie attitudes, and a outgoing willingness to meet their clients needs.

Felicia B.

Yelp
One of the best free wine tastings in town. There are wonderful selections every time we visit, along with helpful information about each wine. Sign up as a frequent buyer, it's free.
