So, I order from the TooGoodToGo App, expecting a meal (which they state they serve on the app) or pasta salad, or some other kind of leftover food, as that is what the app intended for and there seemed to be plenty of leftover, restaurant made food in the cold cases.
I was right on time for my pickup and they gave me a big brown paper bag and then the teen behind the counter threw a muffin in the bag. "Cool!" I thought walking back to my car with this hefty bag.
I open it to reveal a bag of fresh sandwich rolls... store bought, (not even close to the expiration date).
You guys, this is not what the app is intended for. The app is to get people to pick up food that you're unable to keep and serve the next day- like the muffin that was placed in there.
Now, I could see *if* they didn't have anything to give so the teen was doing his best to just fulfill the order. *BUT* there is a place on the app (on the restaurant's end) where they can state there is nothing to give that day, perfectly fine. No harm no foul.
So not only did I not get to really try your restaurant's food, (which is also what the app is for), it also kind of left a bad taste in my mouth...
We ate the buns- we aren't going to let them go to waste, but it was pretty disappointing because we did want to sample their actual food at the very least.
So just be aware, if you're ordering from the TooGoodToGo App, surprise!! You might get a plain ole bag of buns and not even get to try what they actually make themselves.
Bummer! Probably won't be back based off that experience.
2 stars for the decent store bought buns. 0 for the restaurant as I have no idea what they actually taste like.
