Best Restaurants in Seabrook and Kemah, Texas | Eater Houston

"It doesn’t matter your style — sweet or savory, Seabrook Waffle Company has it all. This neighborhood spot serves up Italian espresso drinks alongside Liege waffles, the ultimate canvas for toppings of all sorts. Breakfast here comes in the form of a Monte Cristo-style waffle layered with Swiss, ham, turkey, bacon, and raspberry jalapeño preserves or the eggs Benedict, which is topped with ham, bacon, an over-easy egg, and Hollandaise sauce. For something sweet and decadent, try out the Nola, a waffle piled high with Speculoos, bananas, and vanilla ice cream, and dusted with a cinnamon-maple powder. Want just a taste? Order the miniature waffle bites, which come in sets of four, and share them with a friend." - Brittany Britto Garley

Food: very delicious waffle, just the right size. Service: good Atmosphere: really enjoyed the outdoor. Went on a day that was windy but comfort. Lovely set up! Would come again. Enjoyed my meal.

Great place with amazing waffles! They are dense and crispy with little pops of sweetness thanks to sugar pearls. I love the different selections they have for sweet and savory waffles. They also have an espresso and coffee menu to make things even sweeter! The coffee is good too! The atmosphere is very nice and welcoming with indoor seating as well as a large outdoor seating area with sufficient shade. My only two issues with this place are the weird metal chairs (worth the food though) and that there is not much indoor seating for groups. My favorite so far is the jalapeno popper savory waffle which is, unfortunately, not on the permanent menu...I just have to wait for it to come back! Second fav is the Mac & cheese one! So good!

OMG! WHERE HAS THIS PLACE BEEN ALL MY LIFE?!?!?! I have now tasted heaven. The chicken and waffle waffle is amazing! Perfect portion, heavenly, delightful etc. TRY THIS PLACE! JUST DO IT AND thank me later!!

Google
I've only been once, and while I liked my food and thought the place was really cute, it didn't blow me away. It's possible I set my expectations too high before I went. But it's definitely a solid three stars and I'd be willing to go back. The building itself is really cute. It looks like the kind of place you'd love to have a tea party with your daughter or a really cute lunch date with your girlfriends. It's not the kind of place my husband would enjoy, but that's mostly because of the small seats and tables inside. It's not that he wouldn't enjoy the waffles. He'd just rather take it with him and eat it in the car, I'm guessing. And I'm sure you could do that! (Plus there's outside seating and on a warmer day, that's another option.) The staff was really friendly and very helpful given that it was our first visit. The guy who greeted us asked if it was our first time there, and my friend and I both answered that it was. He explained the waffles to us and how to order. He invited us to look over the menu and come back and order when we were ready. We took the menus and found a really cute table at the back of the restaurant. It took us a bit to make up our minds, but she settled on an Eggs Benedict and I had a Crowning Oak (strawberries, whipped cream, bananas, and almonds). They didn't have many options for coffee, so we both had a French press. (Honestly, more coffee options would have probably caused me to add another star. I'd really like it if this were more of a cafe atmosphere with some latte and espresso selections.) The waffles didn't take long to make, but when we did finally get our food, we had to ask for our coffees. The girl had forgotten our coffees and brought them to us after we asked. In other words, they weren't exactly piping hot, but they weren't cold. I didn't dislike my waffle, but it wasn't what I expected. I think I'd have liked it better if I ordered something else. It's my own fault for not looking closely at the menu before I went. I wanted eggs with it, but not Eggs Benedict. I didn't realize it was more of a dessert place than a breakfast cafe. They do offer some savory options, but it's very limited. And that's not bad. That's just not what I was looking for. Next time I go back (if I go back; after all, I don't live in Texas), I will know what I'm getting and adjust my expectations accordingly. And if I go again, I'll order something with Nutella.

This quaint restaurant has a cozy and kid-friendly feel, with amazing food and great service. The waffles are to die for, the coffee beats Starbucks any day, and there is plenty of room to let the kids run around. 10/10

Google
It was my first time here at Seabrook Waffle Company. You will be underwhelmed by the size, but they are smaller for a reason! The actual waffle is made of dough, not batter, which gives it a dense consistency. I could not finish mine. It was so rich with flavor and sweet as well as savory, as I got the Chicken and Waffle. Y’all come here with the family as the atmosphere is friendly. If you come during summer though, keep in mind it’ll be hot! We came at 9 and I was sweating!! I would definitely come back. Pictured are The Monte Cristo, The Doe Eye, Chicken and Waffle, and Strawberry Shortcake.

Google
During a recent visit to the Seabrook Waffle Company, my family and I indulged in a variety of their signature waffle creations, each offering a delightful combination of flavors and textures. The NOLA waffle, adorned with a mix of speculoos, bananas, vanilla ice cream, and cinnamon sprinkles, was a delectable tribute to the flavors of New Orleans. The blend of sweet and spicy notes, combined with the velvety ice cream, made for a memorable treat. My wife opted for the classic chicken and waffles, a beloved dish that didn't disappoint. The savory and crisp fried chicken paired harmoniously with the warm, fluffy waffle, creating a satisfying contrast of flavors and textures. My daughter's choice, the DOE EYED waffle, with its luscious combination of Nutella, vanilla ice cream, and chocolate chips, was a hit with her. The rich and indulgent elements of this waffle made it a decadent delight for any chocolate lover. While the waffles were certainly the stars of the show, the complementary elements left something to be desired. Our main qualm revolved around the syrup, which, given the price point, could have been a higher quality, real maple syrup rather than a standard packet of maple-flavored corn syrup. This small detail detracted from the overall experience and left us wishing for a more authentic accompaniment to the scrumptious waffles. We also ordered scrambled eggs, which, unfortunately, seemed to be hastily prepared in a microwave, resulting in a texture that was merely passable. Though they provided a necessary protein element to balance out the carbohydrate-heavy meal. On a more positive note, both the lattes my wife and I ordered were expertly crafted, providing a satisfying conclusion to our meal with their well-balanced flavors and comforting warmth. In conclusion, our experience at Seabrook Waffle Company was a mixed bag. While the waffles themselves were a delightful indulgence, some aspects, such as the quality of the syrup and the lackluster preparation of the scrambled eggs, left us wanting more. Despite this, the skillful execution of the lattes and the overall warm ambiance of the establishment made our visit enjoyable. However, considering the total cost of $75 for two adults and one child, we expected a more consistently high-quality dining experience.

Yelp
This is a great little place in Old Seabrook. You order at the counter then they bring your order to your table inside or on their patio. The patio has tables beneath a large oak tree. Very comfortable. As you might guess, their speciality is waffles. Savory and sweet and also a pick your own toppings offering. Very good assortment of excellent coffee choices. I had the pick your own toppings offering with bananas and chocolate chips. My wife had the waffle and chicken. All very good. Give it a try.

Yelp
Small little quaint spot, food is fast, hot, great customer service and taste very delicious

Yelp
Stopped in our vacation because this was on the list for one of the places we must try. I had a strawberry shortcake plus ice cream and chocolate sauce and it was amazing. Not too sweet either. Yummy hopefully we can came back here on another vacation.

Yelp
Went today for breakfast and it was delicious. The ghost of monte cristo has ghost pepper cheese and it was perfectly sweet and spicy. Service was excellent and everything was great. Awesome local spot

Stacy N.

Yelp
We had the SWC and the Monte Cristo and quite honestly 2 of the best waffles I have ever had! Great servers, very cordial, and helpful! We sat outside and it was perfect!

Yelp
I have been coming here for years and just now realized I never did a Yelp review. GASP! I love this place! I don't live in Seabrook so when I'm in the area, I make sure to stop by. First of all, it's awesome to sit outside when the weather is just right, but when it's hot outside, there is some room inside with 18 chairs and 8 tables. Today I came for lunch and ordered the Chicken & Waffle with an Iced Salted Caramel Breve with caramel drizzle. Both tasted great! I asked for extra hollandaise sauce, a must do I think. I also ordered Eggs Benedict and they went ahead and put it in a to-go container which was nice. The 2 employees were very helpful and answered all my questions. I will continue to come here because I haven't had one bad food item yet. My all time favorite is the Monte Cristo though. The raspberry jalapeño preserves is quite spicy, but what makes it absolutely delicious!

Yelp
Overpriced waffles that are so calorie dense you'll need to fast for two weeks. I ordered an eggs Benedict waffle for both me and my elderly mother, when delivered to the table the young colored hair woman dropped a steamy hot waffle on 83 year old mom's lap. Then had the audacity to laugh hysterically at the situation. I'm terribly disappointed and will advise anyone looking for respectful staff to steer clear of the establishment. Disgusting. Inside is tiny.

Yelp
Seabrook Waffle Company gets lots of stars for looks alone. This place is cool as all get out, inside and out. Tables are hand painted and kinda extraordinary. The vibe is cool and welcoming. The menu is not large, which to me means what they do, they do both right and well. They also have specials, which is what I ordered. My apologies for not remembering the toppings, but suffice to say it was delicious. Chances are when you visit they won't have the same special, but keep them in mind. Specials are special for a reason. The waffles themselves are fantastic. Though I didn't taste them plain, I'm certain they would be sweet and delicious with no toppings at all. If you are in the area or even nearby, plan time to go to Seabrook Waffle Company. It's unique and delicious. You will not be sorry.

Yelp
Amazing spot for some tasty breakfast. I was a little worried looking over the menu on what my kids might select but in addition to some preselected menu items you still have the option to build your own waffle creation so almost guaranteed to satisfy everyone. Not much room inside but the outdoor area is cute, the food is delicious and the service is great!

Yelp
Love this place. Had to eat two meals for breakfast because I couldn't make up my mind. Stayed for a couple cups of espresso as well. Great team and great concept!

M G.

Yelp
Excellent food, prices and service. The coffee is hot and comes in a small carafe, which is nice. The waitress was fast and efficient.

Yelp
Pleasant vibes Chocolate milk was homemade not from a bottle. Service was kind of peccable.

Yelp
Love love love the waffles here! They are different than any other waffle you'll have. Such a good variety of sweet and savory plus you cannot beat a great and spacious outdoor patio!

Yelp
Delicious food. Super cute outdoor seating, service was quick and we really enjoyed our time here. Would absolutely come back!!

Yelp
We haven't been here in a long time but the waffle is still worth the long drive! Hands down the best waffle I've ever had. I wish they sold the batter! Love this place. Fast and Friendly service even when short staffed. Love the location and the peaceful outdoor seating. We got the chicken and waffle and added a poached egg. Now they did change the chicken to more like a chicken nugget meat texture which was disappointing compared to my memories of delicious fried chicken tenders...but the waffle is still so good that I'm overlooking it. The Mac and cheese waffle was scrumptiously decadent and wow...the NOLA waffle was perfection. We also like their coffee. Great place and a must try for breakfast in the area.
google avatar

Yelp
It's all about the dough. This place has awesome waffles. You don't even need any extra toppings. They are liege waffles, and although I've never been there, I'll take their word for it. These waffles are sweet, dense, and delicious. I can't stay away from this place if I happen to be in the area. I got the mac attack and added sausage. I also got the chicken and waffles, and added a poached egg. To finish it off, I also got the Nola waffle. They were all so good. I also had a flat white and a Vietnamese iced coffee. They know their way around waffles and coffee. The staff was very nice and is always very nice. It's a small place so sometimes it might take a bit of time if they're busy. But if you're patient, you will be rewarded with the best waffles in the Houston area and you will not mind the wait at all.

Yelp
So glad this is close to the house. I love all of their waffles. Eggs Benedict is my favorite.
google avatar

Pam N.

Yelp
The best savory and sweet waffles ever!!! Staff is great. What more could a person ask for!!!!

Haven S.

Yelp
The waffles are so good! Really reminded me of traditional Belgian waffles! I got the monte cristo, and the sweet and spicy jam on top is delicious! My husband got the chicken and waffles, which was just as enjoyable, and we got the waffle bites for the kids and they were perfect for my toddlers. I also got an iced latte that was so good! The staff is so sweet, and the atmosphere is wonderful! Definitely recommend.

Yelp
The food was delicious and we enjoyed being able to sit outside in the beautiful weather to enjoy the meal. We will be visiting again soon!

Yelp
All around a great little place with indoor and outdoor seating. $15 for a small waffle is a little too much for me to swallow though.

michelle m.

Yelp
Best waffle I've had in a long time. The portions may look small but I assure you they are very filling. The waffle alone tastes sweet but not overly. You may opt for syrup, but honestly you won't need it. The espresso & mac n cheese is also a good choice.
google avatar

Jessica A.

Yelp
All waffle selection with a unique twist. They add sugar to the batter which caramelizes the outside for a crunchy exterior and soft interior. Order inside and enjoy a nice outdoor, shaded dining experience. Service is great and atmosphere is casual.
google avatar

Jenniffer M.

Yelp
Have been coming here for years! Definitely a gem located in Kemah. Their waffles are a taste of heaven. They are warm, sweet with a kick of cinnamon. Highly recommend coming here for desert. I think it's a cute little shop, and it gives a mom&pop vibe. Help local business by stopping by to get a delicious waffle.
google avatar

Shashikala P.

Yelp
It's a cute waffle place with spacious seating area in front yard, I got a waffle with cream cheese and coffee, my son waffle with ice cream. Waffles were good, freshly made to order, they're thick and tasted more like a soft cookie inside, crisp on outside, it's rich and more like dessert than breakfast, for the price, waffles are pretty smaller. They keep coffee in thermos on separate counter but no milk, cream, sugar, stevia nothing, so you have to ask for cream and sugar in the counter, that's pretty inconvenient and odd. Overall it's good!

Dave 1.

Yelp
We have been waiting a long time to eat at this restaurant, and were slightly disappointed. I had the sausage Benedict and was totally unimpressed. The hollindase sauce was watery. The waffle itself was good but extremely sweet. The egg on top was cooked to medium. There was no runny yolk at all. It looked like it was cooked at some kind of cup or something like that. My wife had the chicken and waffle, and it was disappointing. The same runny hollandaise sauce on her chicken and waffle. Both of our orders were listed as savory and we were surprised to be served a savory dish that has an extremely sweet waffle. The staff was friendly, and the place was clean. We will probably try it again but not anytime soon.
google avatar

Brianna A.

Yelp
OUT OF BOUNDS! Okay but seriously this place was so great. I can still smell the waffles. We got the shortcake one which was so good but I didn't think that it doesn't include ice cream. I took a scoop of my sisters pumpkin ice cream and it was amazing! The portion was great to share or even as a personal. I also had a hot chocolate and that was great as well. Outside seating was so cute with the strong lights. Also the place was clean and seating was arranged perfect.
google avatar

Yolene H.

Yelp
Personally, almost everything is too sweet for me, even their savory items. My husband and kids however love this place. We don't go often, but it's always a treat when we go.
google avatar

Blair P.

Yelp
Wayyyy too much sugar in the batter.I even tasted the grit of the sugar. Super heavy waffle and tastes like it's not cooked in the inside. Chicken strips tasted like frozen ones popped in the air fryer. Super disappointed because I've been wanting to try this place for a long time now.
google avatar

Jorena L.

Yelp
This place has been on my bucket list, and I finally got to try it before this whole pandemic went down. A little difficult to find because the turn is obscure and in the middle of construction right now. There is a parking lot though. Mostly outdoor seating with some inside tables. Order at the counter and then they'll bring it to you. I had the Eggs Benedict Waffle. I really loved it but you need to be a fan of sweet and savory combo. The waffle itself is super dense and sugary, but the salty ham & bacon balance it out. My least favorite part was the overcooked poached egg. There was no yolk running out. I split the Just Peachy with my friend. I really didn't need this because 1 waffle filled me up. Also, it was too gooey and overly sweet. It needed way more cream cheese and less peach preserves. These waffles are pricey ngl and look small but they really fill you up.
google avatar

Mike C.

Yelp
Working my way through the menu. Today's selection Sausage Eggs Benedict Waffle. Soooo delicious. Fresh hot coffee always tastes great.
google avatar

Teresa D.

Yelp
The food was good if you like a sweeter breakfast. The staff was friendly and helpful and the ambiance was small and quaint. The coffee and water are on a separate table for self service. I forgot to take a picture but I tried the egg and sausage on waffle. The price was still inexpensive for what you got, just wasn't expecting such a hard waffle.
google avatar

Dawn F.

Yelp
Fun place to take kids, but pricey for the amount you get. I was expecting more than a tiny waffle in a paper boat. Also overly sweet (and I'm a baker who loves sweets). The latte was the best part, beautiful and delicious.
google avatar

Abby B.

Yelp
I love coming here on a crisp Saturday morning!! Everyone who works there is so nice and the service is fast and good! And did I mention their waffles are so tasty??

Briana C.

Yelp
i was excited to try this place but the waffles were stale and too sweet. also, the only toppings on my waffle were rotten!! not animal friendly!! claimed where we ordered was too close to where they cooked the waffles. if that's the case why isn't it being prepared in a kitchen? and my car almost got stuck in a pot hole in the parking lot!! the staff was kind though
google avatar

Robert B.

Yelp
First time here and heard good things. Sadly the good things I heard were exaggerated. First off the place is small and cute. Looks like it would be a fun place and I'm sure it is. But the food is pretty yuck. I tried the special Ghost Monte Cristo and the Pumpkin cream cheese waffle. Wife had the chicken and waffles and some strawberry and bananas waffle with Nutella. Everything tasted old and dry. I mean my Monte Cristo has melted cheese on it and it was cold.... Maybe that's because they make the waffle. Let it sit. Prep the order. Then place everything on top of the waffle that was made 20min earlier. The chicken on the chicken waffle tasted as if was poorly reheated frozen chicken. Ultimately everything was underwhelming. The portions are equally as pitiful as the food. The price is also extreme. 4 waffles. 2 drinks. $45. All in all these were pretty awful waffle options. But the silver lining was the service was rather friendly and prompt.
google avatar

Yelp
Best waffle I've ever eaten, even including the ones I've had in Germany, Switzerland, and Belgium. We ordered two initially, and then ordered a third because the first two were so good. The caramel apple crisp waffle with a scoop of apple pie Ice cream was amazing. Also, the waffle itself could be a dessert on its own with the sweet caramelized chunks of sugar and the sweet dough. We come to Houston occasionally and are now going to make a point to come here for a waffle.

Yelp
This location was the very first Seabrook Waffle Company one that I tried, and it did not disappoint! My friend introduced me to this place, and I fell in love with their waffles. There was also another Seabrook Waffle Company that opened up right by my house in Pearland, but sadly it closed down. For those who have never tried Seabrook Waffle Company before, if you have a sweet tooth and you like waffles, this is the perfect place for you! Even if you're not craving something completely sweet and you're okay with the sweet and savory combo, this place offers savory options and you can still get the sweetness from the waffle too! The way they make their waffles are very unique. They make Liege waffles, which is made out of dough and has a "pearl sugar" incorporated inside the waffles to make it sweet! I came here and tried the Eggs Benedict Waffle (10/10). The poached egg was cooked perfectly and the Hollandaise sauce on top wasn't too overpowering. The ham and bacon tasted amazing too. The waffle itself was AMAZING too, just as I expected based on my previous experiences. I haven't tried the other savory options, but my friends who came tried the chicken and waffles one and Monte Cristo one, and they both said they really enjoyed it as well. The dessert options are really good too because I felt like the strawberries and ice cream were a nice touch with the waffles.
google avatar

Briana G.

Yelp
I started coming to Seabrook Waffle Company about 10 years ago and I still get so excited when I go get some great waffles. Their doe eyed is very good and a good waffle to try for the first time if your into a more sweet mood. I have never got a savory waffle, but my friend have always got the bacon mac & cheese and the eggs Benedict. Now if your like me, and want to build your own then you should try a waffle with chocolate ice creams, strawberries and chocolate chips. OMG... it's heaven on earth and it make me so warm inside, literally!! If you're in the Seabrook/Kemah area, you should go check it out. Just to warn the parking isn't amazing but it's worth it for some delicious waffles.
google avatar

Elijah L.

Yelp
It's a cute place in Seabrook. It's like a little home and definitely has a warm feeling inside. It's not your average Waffle House if you know what I mean. The waffles here were alright. Don't get me wrong, they weren't bad by any stretch of the imagination. However, everything just felt so heavy to me. But if you love sweets, then you'll like this place. Perhaps next time I'd try one of their savory waffles.

S A.

Yelp
Great small business. Quaint with inside and outside seating. Not the typical hot waffle- think room temp with yummy caramelization topped with fresh fruit. Wonderful coffee.
google avatar

John M.

Yelp
Overpriced for waffles served in disposable containers and eaten with plastic forks & knives. The waffles themselves were delightfully sweet and tasty but the fixings were not as complimentary.
google avatar

Nicole V.

Yelp
I cannot wait to come back to this restaurant. The waffles were mouth watering. I really did not expect to like it as much as I did. The cappuccino was delightful. We will definitely return next time we are in town.
google avatar

Kim S.

Yelp
What a gem! Great food + great atmosphere! We ordered the chicken and waffles and the monte cristo, both cooked to perfection. We will be returning.
google avatar

Matt F.

Yelp
If you're looking for a raw dough, this is the place for you. I asked about the raw cooking method, and they said that's the way they are. "Sorry, have a good day." It's like they couldn't comprehend, the dough was raw. $5 waffle + $4 tip, straight to the trash.
google avatar

Carissa C.

Yelp
Come early if you visit on a sunny Saturday morning! We decided to stop here for breakfast before walking it off at the nearby trail, and we're glad we beat the 9 am breakfast rush. We split an I Love Pumpkin waffle, a Sausage Eggs Benedict waffle, and 2 house coffees. One star down for the price - a bit over $20 total. I guess it's expected for a foodie/IG-worthy/specialty waffle kinda place, but at least they tasted scrumptious! They have their own waffle recipe which is slightly sweet and they put all sorts of toppings. The pumpkin waffle was bomb! I love pumpkin everything even if it still feels like summer outside, and I really enjoyed my meal. The sausage eggs Benedict waffle was a great contrast to the sweet waffle, and it was a delightful variation of an eggs Benedict. Most people sit outside, but we were able to snag an indoor table since it was so windy outside. This is reminiscent of a place you'd find in Austin, so it's cool that we have a place like this close to home!
google avatar

Samantha M.

Yelp
Let me preface by saying I wasn't a fan of the actual liege waffles themselves. We made the drive down on a Saturday at 1pm and it wasn't too crowded. The cashier helped with recommendations and our waffles were brought out to us pretty quickly. I ordered the Monte Cristo, my boyfriend got Zac's Mac, and we split a scoop of banana pudding ice cream. My monte cristo was the perfect temperature and I really liked everything other than the waffle. It was just too dense and doughy inside for me. I've had other liege waffles that were lighter and flakier and that's what I was expecting. They were also less sweet and really only had sweetness from the sugar crystals on the outside. Seems like the dough itself has a lot of sugar at Seabrook. I didn't think the waffle tasted good with the Mac and cheese, but my boyfriend liked it! On the upside, the service was good and we loved the banana pudding ice cream. I'd definitely get it again next time.
google avatar

Kate U.

Yelp
Local legend of a restaurant! Consistently the best waffles in the Houston area. Love the atmosphere, and the employees are always the sweetest :))
google avatar

Stella Y.

Yelp
Visiting and friends brought me to their fav breakfast place. Got their Monte Cristo and it was delicious! I wasn't sure about their jalapeño jelly because I have never had it before but it was delicious!!!
