I went here to try their signature house special live crab (salt, pepper, crispy garlic), along with other dishes like chiu chow special porridge, soy sauce duck with tofu (whole), and house special chicken lettuce wrap. It was not too busy when we went around 5pm, though it was busy but with some empty seats still around prime dinner time around 6:30pm when we left. Typical of Chinese restaurants here, we got served tea, and we also requested some ice water on top.
The crab is pretty good, meeting my high expectations. I love their crispy garlic that they put in, and the meat is quite fresh and sweet. However, the meat can be a bit tricky to take out in some parts. Currently it's around $25 per pound so it was $76 for the crab.
The chiu chow special porridge is also very good - it is soup with rice, but the rice to water ratio is lower than that found in a typical porridge. Additionally, the dish also has some oysters, shrimp, etc which makes the price tag more worthwhile compared to the standard fried rice dish they offer.
Soy sauce duck with tofu is marinated well. I love how they do not have much bone, so for the majority of the pieces, you can just eat it without much effort. Also, there is not too much fat under the skin. The tofu is very soft and flavorful as well.
House special chicken lettuce wrap is decent. I like the crunchiness to it, and there is a good amount of vegetables. The slight downside, but fortunately they did make aware of that for us, is that the menu price is not accurate, and that the dish is $4 more.
Service is very good especially for a Chinese restaurant, as they actively clear your dishes periodically as the crab shells accumulate, and they fulfill requests fairly quickly when you flag them down. This is one of the better restaurants in the area, albeit on the pricier side.
