Seafood sensation

Nice seafood place! The food was great. Attentive service. We got to meet and talk with the owner, and we learned that he's had this restaurant for 14 years. The price was more than reasonable for the size of the portions we got. I chose the fried catfish with fries and coleslaw, and my wife chose a small plate with one piece of fried catfish with boiled potatoes, broccoli, and corn. The fries were the best I have had in a long time!

Locally owned and operated. Be patient food is made fresh and well worth the time. Prices are fair, portions a generous. I have lived on the coast line for over 20 years, this is the best seafood I have had in the Nashville area. Customer service matched the good, the owners should hold their heads high knowing the staff cares about the food served and service provided.

This restaurant is run by two veterans. Very nice gentlemen. If you want to support your veterans this is definitely a place to go. Great food, fast service. You won’t regret eating here! I had the salmon, my husband had the catfish.

3 generations enjoyed our meals at Seafood Sensation. Very friendly, like you are a guest in their home. The fish was amazing. My son had the fried and it was perfectly battered. My mother picked from the sides and really enjoyed the hush puppies and shrimp. The shrimp were quite large. There is a sign that they are not fast food. And they aren’t. It is made to order and well worth the wait.

My wife and I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon to pick up a to-go order (Alaskan (Snow Crab) Steamer and the 20 Shrimp Steamer). Both of the meals were excellent (portions were huge and the food was great and well seasoned). The meals came with red potatoes, broccoli and an ear of corn, and everything was coated in garlic butter. The building itself seems to have been recently renovated and really clean, and with all the large TVs, it seems like it would be a great place to catch the game. The staff was super friendly and everyone (staff and the other customers picking up to-go orders) were all wearing masks. We highly recommend this restaurant!!! Keep up the great work!

cashier ringing up order n party member asked to use restroom n she said it’s for paying customers. We were ordering so ? Can he? Nope pay first. I’m just thinking bout him hold it n having to wait on my decision of food. He wasn’t offended but I was cause she just stopped trying to sell me 50-70 a meal. Anyway got the food home and it was barely good. I forced myself to eat it cause it was $32 . Rate 2/10 crab legs terrible! Butter it was sitting in terrible. Potatoes not good either! She bragged so hard on how good it was , didn’t half past the test . Worst crab legs ever and whole tray was trash. Looks good but these reviews are fake or they had a bad day serving the worst crab legs ever.

Super find. Looking for a seafood restaurant and just picked them. We are so glad we did. Simple place but huge portions and very very tasty food. The people working there are terrific 👏 😀. Will go back every chance we get.

The veggies plate has always been my favorite. My first time trying out the crab legs with the shrimp sausage potatoes broccoli and corn. The corn is so fresh that you could tell if shucked corn. Everything was delicious. I introduced this place to my Jamaican friend and they share their comment that they felt they were back home. Great job. The customer service was very polite. I feel that the price is very much on point because the food was very tasty, presentation was beautiful and you can see the hard work put into making sure they put out a great product. Wonderful experience and I will support this establishment. Just because the building and location is small does not mean that the price has to be small. I feel that I take great money for a great product and this is a very good product I see the talent in the chef's work and the price is well deserved. Instead of fancy lights and fancy decorations. I see the money being put into putting out great food The place was very clean and organized. In my order there was an item that was no longer available after I ordered. But the chef came out and made a suggestion to compensate instead of just saying we don't have that. That means alot. You're greatly appreciated. Keep up the great work.

What a GEM!! We drove all the way from Oklahoma to celebrate a dear friend's 50th birthday. The portions were incredible and the food was some of the best seafood we've ever experienced. The owners came and talked with us like family. The owner and his wife made our daughter special chicken since she said it was her favorite and wouldn't let us pay for it!! The service was top notch. We were a group of active and retired military and to find out the owner was retired Navy we were over the moon to support a family and veteran owned business. We will continue to make trips out here just to eat here. Thank you for making our evening so so special.

We got an Uber to be dropped off here and it was Closed! Online and showed it was Open. Wasted our money and time while on vacation..... We were also told it's a sketchy area from the Uber driver, so it was scary getting dropped off at a closed place in an unknown location. Please update your hours to match online!

The service and generosity here is truly sensational! The owner took our order and made sure to get all the details right, including our names, and gave us so much food for what we ordered. We got the fried fish platter with slaw, salmon cheesesteak combo, and fried shrimp. It came with their special fish sauce (mayo based) and four canned drinks (two per person). Everything was delicious! The restaurant has plenty of indoor seating, though we took our order to-go. Easy parking as well.

What a wonderful business! We ordered our food to-go, and were so happy with our selections. They do NOT mess around when it comes to sides! We had big ole heads of broccoli, mountains of fried pickles, and the most flavorful fish I have had in a long time. I got the catfish and my partner got the white fish. When we got home and finished our meal, we later realized that we did not receive our coleslaw. One quick phone call and a drive back and they gave us our coleslaw immediately, and threw in some tartar sauce for the road. 10/10 service, hands down! Everyone inside seemed to know each other and were very friendly. The man that served us our food communicated our wait time and checked in on us frequently, even though we ordered to-go. The woman that gave us our coleslaw was very kind and patient. The restaurant was spacious and clean, and there was plenty of parking available in the lot. We will definitely be back for one of those platters. They looked so good in the glass display case! Huge portions (like our meals) and great variety.

Let me just say "YES" to this place. Two veterans running a black owned seafood joint in Nashville right next to TSU. We visited from Virginia by way of NYC and this was the first restaurant that came up when we typed "seafood near us" on google. This place did not disappoint. First off, the prices are extremely reasonable for a seafood spot. The amount of food you get is also CRAZY! We had a seafood boil that says "serves 2" but it could definitely serve 3-4 ppl EASILY. The gentleman there are extremely friendly. I could really go in forever about this place but man, this lil spot blew our minds. We have enough food to last us until lunch tomorrow. If you are in the area or visiting Nashville, do not leave until you visit this place. Please trust me when I say you will not be disappointed. Pictures below is what we are. This was my boyfriends and I first time going here and we can easily say that this is our new favorite seafood spot ! The food was amazing and well seasoned and the service was great as well, the owners wife took very well care of us and was super sweet :) Overall 10/10

The food was amazing! The owners were very friendly and made you feel welcome. Denise would say "welcome home" The food was fresh. The clusters of crab were very generous and the shrimp were very large. This was the first time I've had broccoli in a boil and it was a great addition! We were very happy with our choice of restaurant. We are not from the area and found it on Yelp.

discrete location-almost missed it- Casual, not crowded, good menu choices. Initially surprised by prices till we got our food. Each entree was enuf to feed 2-3. Catfish was filet, fresh, moist, flaky, fried to a light golden brown- vegs were good. Had to get a take home box. Definitely goin back. Surprised by food being served almost hot! what a wonderful change from cold or room temp of most restaurants recently.

Just outstanding in downtown Nashville. Located on west side near Vanderbilt University. I was so surprised by the low prices and all the food I received. Just excellent shrimp and corn and potatoes.

As a new diner, I was very impressed that we were made to feel so welcome! The menu options were explained to us and I chose the child's sized fried shrimp (6) and potatoes, which was delicious and more than ample for lunch. The shrimp were not disguised in any batter and were good sized, plump, and fresh. The new potatoes were sliced and served in a tasty butter garlic sauce. We also tried the salmon bites with both the yum yum and golden honey sauces, both of which I enjoyed. The friendly owner even came out from the kitchen to visit with us. Such a delightful experience!

ELITE - LEVEL WINNER: We wanted seafood badly, but we needed to take it out which can be risky if you like your food Hot and Ready, especially seafood. #1 called an hour ahead and requested if possible a pickup time and they absolutely nailed it. #2. The provided foil platter was sealed in shrink wrap, and food was Hot AF. #3. Now the good stuff. The lobster tail was perfectly cooked and was a nice fatty that was succulent. 4. The Alaskan Crab was giant and full of sweet meat also perfectly seasoned and prepared. 5. I think the sausages are the best in Nashville and I could order these someday just by themselves. 6. Shrimp were deliciously steamed. Again the best tasting, best value (Massive amounts of food) for seafood cooked and served by the friendliest people. They get my "Elite-Level" Best Of Nashville Secrets award.

Best seafood in Nashville! New to Nashville & needed a seafood place. Came here for a birthday/anniversary & definitely made the right choice! Need some crab? Need shrimp? Boom, they got it! And... it's delicious. Service is amazing & they welcomed us in warmly. Love the atmosphere! Will be back!

Okay so the wait was a bit but it was definitely worth it. The price was spot on for the food it was enough to feed like three people we got the 59.99 crab legs and vegetables, meat, shrimp, etc. It was absolutely delicious and the owner was a SWEETHEART, a cute little family owned restaurant. The price was true to the amount of food and the service was wonderful :)

The star is exclusively for the service--the guys were super nice and took my order late (Yelp said they closed at 11P, so I called at 9P to order but learned they were closing at 930P on Friday, as a note). This food was horrible. I had high hopes based on a few other reviews and I had a taste for catfish so I ordered and honestly I wish I had not. The triple broccoli I requested in lieu of corn and potatoes was swimming in grease (not butter, but buttery oil). The single piece of catfish I ordered was nearly flavorless, and the "large" steamed shrimp (which was a nearly $10 upcharge for six shrimp) were *far* from large, and worse--they were obviously SPOILED. I could taste it the minute I bit into one; I had to spit it out and toss the rest of them --there's just no way the cook couldn't smell or tell by coloring that those shrimp were no longer good since they tasted like they'd gone totally rancid. I was furious to be throwing $8.99 in the garbage but the shrimp were inedible and I wasn't risking my health and my weekend plans on questionable seafood. The grilled chicken tasted great but the experience was ruined by how gross the rest of my food was. I had to throw everything except the chicken out after dropping $30. First and last visit.

New Location 2209 Murfreesboro Pike. If you looking for fresh seafood and no fillers this is another hidden gem in Nashville. The food tastes like it was just pulled out of the ocean. If you love supporting local businesses and expect excellence; this is your place. I've eaten at every high dollar establishment in town and you definitely don't want to miss out on this place. Generous portions sizes. Random fact: They also host bachelorette parties and private parties. The quality is hands down better that any other place in town!

FRESH!!!!!! For some reason I always get a lot of meat in my crab legs from here ONLY. It was so good and well prepared! I am completely satisfied with my order thank you so much.

What a great experience today! I came here for lunch with my girlfriend and had an A+ meal. The owner made sure we were comfortable the whole time and was very friendly. We will definitely be back again and will be telling our friends!

I came across this place randomly and boy am I glad we stopped by. My husband and I, are from New England and we recently moved to Nashville from CA -- so we loooove seafood. The seafood was fresh. The seasoning was perfection. And everything was cooked right, down to the potatoes. I highly recommend this place. Darren was also a very kind and had a great personality. I'm glad we found our go to for seafood and am happy to support local!

I know it's a seafood place but I always get the grilled chicken platter which includes, broccoli, corn, and red potatoes in a garlic butter type situation which is not only delicious but the serving is humongous and I don't know what seasoning he uses on the chicken but it's fire I wished I could go more but work won't allow me. But this is definitely a go to place for seafood and other deliciousness.

Food was well cooked and the sauce mixes were delicious. Ordered a cocktail, could've been stronger. Tasted like juice but still yummy. Service and ambiance were pretty good as well. The place was clean. Fast friendly service. Plenty of food.

This was my first time visiting ! Everyone was very welcoming and nice. The food was bomb. Seasoning was just right. They took time to explain things to me. You get a great amount of food for the buck that you pay. It was almost too much food. I will definitely repeat if I'm in town. They did that !

I was looking for a seafood place that has fish options. The portions were plentiful. The food was good but not seasoned enough, could use more Cajun spices. The broccoli was crunchy and tender. Our server was friendly and sweet. The place is clean and enforces covid regulations (masks, hand sanitization, etc)

Today I went to seafood sensation with one of my friends who literally went yesterday! It was super good, and it was decently affordable. I got the shrimp plate and added a sausage for $19 total. I do not eat carbs so I replaced the corn and potatoes with broccoli, and they were really nice and accommodating. It's kind of a hole in the wall, so there was not much wait when I went. The flavor of the shrimp was really good, and I enjoyed their sauce. I am from Hawai'i so I have had some pretty dank seafood, and this was some of the best that I have had in Nashville. The sausage was perfect with the broccoli as well. My only comment is I wish that the cajun seasoning was layered because there was not much on the shrimp on the bottom of the pile. The sauce alone still made for great flavor though!

Staff as well as tha food GREAT!!! I had a lil bit of everything there. The fish was awesome just a great place all around.

This was a DoorDash order. Saw the tempting pictures on DoorDash's app and decided to try this place out. Was pretty satisfied at the end of the meal. I ordered the Alaskan Snow Crab Legs Platter. The food was well seasoned and the potatoes were cooked very well. The veggies were good too but the broccoli was huge so you'll probably need to cut it yourself to make it easier to chew. The meal was also a bit oily and I ended up having to dab most of the oil off. The delivery process was pretty smooth. Recieved the food quickly and the takeout box was wrapped tightly in plastic wrapping to prevent the oil from dripping out. Overall pretty pleased with the meal and will definitely be ordering again if I am craving a large amount of seafood.

This food is so good! This place is located in a small strip mall near Hadley Park and TSU. Staff were friendly. The salmon was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. There was plenty of sauce for the boil which I appreciated. I loved the broccoli, potatoes, and corn too. The saddest part about the meal is that I didn't have any left over . I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. I normally order take out from this place. This would have been 5 stars but I noticed some staff in the kitchen weren't wearing masks but most were during this covid-19 pandemic.

So I love seafood, so anytime I can grab some when I'm out of town, I do... this review is tough, cause I want to give more stars but I just can't. Maybe a 3.7? So the flavors are amazing. Let me put that out there! However I got the crawfish and sausage dinner. The amount of food was a ton... however my crawfish were overcooked... if they could fix that, I would be delighted. I definitely want to try more stuff, maybe the other menu items will make up for it... so until then...

OMG. This place is BOMB! Now, this is not a fancy, date night type of restaurant. There are some tables and seating area, but do yourself a favor and order to-go so you can enjoy the gluttony in the comforts of your own home. I always get the Alaskan Platter which is an impressive crab cluster with corn the cob, steamed broccoli and potatoes in this AMAZINGLY buttery, salty cajun seasoning. It's probably going to clog off all my arteries one day but it's so worth it. And super affordable for quality seafood! Also, they pack your to-go orders very well so I never worry about spilling any of the sauce in my car. Now, my one critique is the attitude you can sometimes get from whoever happens to be behind the counter. You're lucky if you even get so much as a smile. I have been denied to be served before because I came in within 30 minutes of closing time to place a to-go order. Like, really? I'm ordering to-go and you don't even close for another 30 minutes. Sigh. Good thing I come here for the food and not the service.

I love seafood and cajun food, especially coming from CA where we are spoiled with Boiling Crab, Kickin Crab, etc etc. Their sauce is BOMB! When I found out about Seafood Sensation, I was hoping for something similar! We got the Alaskan platter with shrimp added. Presentation wise it looked really appetizing and the portion was generous so I was pretty exited. However there was a major lack in flavor or even salt. The potato was tasted like plain boiled potatoes. The corn was cold and had a very odd texture to it. The crab and shrimp were over cooked so the meat was stuck to the shells. FYI the crab wasn't pre-cracked so you have to pry open the crab claws yourself. Overall I was pretty disappointed and wished their seafood was more fresh and the sauce more flavorful. Also while we were waiting for our to-go order, there seemed to be no ventilation inside. When we left, I looked back at the restaurant and all their windows were so fogged up you couldn't even see inside.

Whenever I come to Nashville, I make sure that I stop at Seafood Sensation. It's been two years since the last time that visited and I did notice that the prices have increased and they no longer add sausage to the platters. I order the same thing every time that I come. I love the Alaskan King Crab Legs platter and I add shrimp with it. The seasoning and garlic butter is just right. Due to Covid-19 the restaurant is only doing carry-out, but they wrap your to-go box tight to make sure that none of the juices spill out. I love how the potatoes are super soft. They definitely give you enough to make sure that you are full. I also ordered the mango and strawberry tea. The tea tasted a little different from before and it was too sweet.

This place never disappoints!! Every time in Nashville it's a MUST have!! The wait time is short considering. Most people want to share but I WANT MY OWN MEAL and I finish every morsel. The prices have definitely gone up over a couple of years. ‍ I get the Lobster (use to be $15.99 now $21.99) with a side of salmon ($9.99) that I will share. The seasoning, potatoes, mounds of butter is a caloric exposure well worth a next day 4 mile run! Sorry for no pictures, too busy trying dive in. Thanks for being consistent!!

Service was fast, food was typical seafood boil. garlic butter nothing stands out of the flavor. Open seating area inside, not much of an ambience I would def do a pick up delivery and enjoy my food at home.

I've only been to this place once but it was amazing. The orders were filling and there's a lot of items to choose from. The staff was very friendly and kind. Great place to go if you're new to Nashville and want sea food!

Visiting Nashville and after reading the reviews had to make a stop. I was honestly disappointed. The service was not friendly at all. On top of that, I feel like I may have been ripped off. I ordered the Alaskan Crab Legs but my receipt said King Crab. On top of that I was given 1 cluster with a butt load of potatoes, 2 corn and a HUGE thing of broccoli. I feel like I paid for a meal of vegetables and just got a cluster on the side. This isnt a crab place. This is a place that sells crabs with your veggies. Not worth the money.

Today is my wife's 50th birthday & she decided on Seafood Sensation for lunch. Well we drove past the establishment & then turned around to find it ducked off in a little strip mall. Well we both ordered Alaskan King Crab Platters. We sat down & waited about 15 minutes & the nice young lady brought the food. Although it was in to go containers it was hot & fresh looking. I'm not a big fan of seafood but my wife is, needless to say she was satisfied. Happy wife,happy life! We will be back. THANKS SEAFOOD SENSATION!!!!
