Best Beaches in New Jersey: Beach Vacations for Couples, Singles, and Families

"Ocean Grove is a quieter counterpart to Asbury Park, offering a clean stretch of white sand perfect for families. The town exudes a charming, Hamptons-esque vibe with Victorian mansions and a popular seafood restaurant, SeaGrass." - Adeline Duff Adeline Duff Adeline Duff is a writer and editor who specializes in beauty, wellness, and travel. Nice place and good service. We tried the Salmon/scallops with squash? Puree, the Sea bass with pasta (the pasta could be a bit salty for some tastes), and the snapper with mashed potatoes, but the Seafood pasta was the best. The kids menu only has three options but are huge and the fries really good. They let you BYOB and the prices are reasonable, high 20-30s per entree. We went at 6:30 pm on a Sunday and there were plenty of tables but by the time we left, ~8 pm, people had to wait.

I visited this restaurant, and the overall experience was good. I ordered seafood pasta and oyster, and they tasted absolutely amazing fresh and delicious. The shrimp were also very good, and the service was excellent and friendly. Unfortunately, the calamari was disappointing; it looked delicious in the pictures, but in reality, it lacked any salt or seasoning, and tasted bland. I spoke to the waiter, and they took the dish and added salt to it after it was cooked, which didn't improve the taste. I wish they paid more attention to seasoning the dishes before serving, because the rest of the dishes were excellent. 🦐 🦞 🍝

The town is so small, so there’s not much choice. We sat outside table without waiting. Ordered Caesar salad and salmon & stuffed flounder. The salad was big and good. The salmon was good, but not great. My husband said the flounder was ok, but didn’t care for much.

I dined here last night with my friends , we were celebrating birthdays . It’s been a few years since I’ve dined here. Based off of last nights food I have to say it’s not as good as it used to be. My friends loved their steak and pork chop. My coconut Thai mahi was very delicious too. Three others ordered the pistachio encrusted fish and there was barely any crumble on top and no sign of pistachio. Also it came with some shrimp on top and they were beige. Not grilled or marinated and they had no flavor at all. The mussels on the menu say pei mussels and they were not and they were very tiny inside. Based on these issues I can’t give it a five star like it use to be.

Totally loved this BYOB gem by the sea!! The food was delicious and serving sizes were perfect - even the crab cake appetizer was substantial without fillers. The menu has lots of interesting choices and the service was attentive and friendly! Get the carrot cake!

Came here for late lunch. Delicious tuna salad. Tuna was perfectly cooked. (Accidentally ate a bit before taking the picture.) The salad was perfectly balanced and the waitress recommended it since I love rare tuna. Waitress was very nice and the vibe of the restaurant is fantastic.

Had an off season lunch for my first visit. Started w PEI Mussels. While the mussels were good, the broth was best i ever tasted! Rather than red sauce OR white wine sauce, they combined the 2 for a very flavorful combo. I asked for a spoon to enjoy more of the broth. Followed w seared scallop salad w an amazing, slightly sweet lemon vinaigrette over a multi-flavored/ingredient dish that was great. My waitress more than attentive. Fantastic experience.

One of our favorite restaurants in Ocean Grove for lunch and dinner! Menu features both seafood and meat. I love the lobster BLT and my husband loves the veal. Indoor and sidewalk seating available, but sometimes we’ll call in our order to do take-out. The BYOB offering is amazing. Follow @GlamyourGlass on IG for more tips & recos!
