Why PyeongChang Should Be Your Next Ski (and Surf) Spot

"The dreamy white-on-white seaside resort on the Gangwon coast, Seamarq, was designed by one of the world's greatest architects, Richard Meier, and its full Korean breakfast of beef soups and pickled daikon served oceanside may just make you want to turn your three-day stay into a full week."

If you're seeking an unforgettable vacation in Korea, you should give this place a go. It was designed by the world-famous architect Richard Meier, and every corner of the hotel is beautiful. My favourite room type would be the corner suite that features a stunning ocean view, a beautiful standalone hot tub with a phenomenal view of the East Sea, and a separate bedroom and living room. They have two dining venues; The Restaurant, which is the buffet restaurant, and The Chef's table, which offers some nice course meals.

I am leaving this review to help improve the customer service of the hotel and for future guests who may choose to stay here. When we left a review about an unpleasant experience at Simark Hotel, the hotel contacted us on our personal phone, mentioning legal review and suggesting the deletion of the review. (As we have already communicated via email and phone, they know our personal information, and since the issue was not properly addressed, I left the first review which is deleted at the moment, cause we were scared with their call at first) Even I was unable to talk when they gave me a call, so I said “I am unable to talk now”, then the response was, "Then just listen without saying anything. Feel free to record this conversation." I am leaving this review based on the recorded call and only mentioning the objective facts out of fear that this comment may also be subject to legal threats. I hope the hotel's customer service will improve to match the excellent facilities in the future.

Fabulous hotel! |We were given an amazing bedroom with a view of both the lake and the sea. The bed was extremely comfortable and we were so happy lying there after dark watching young people setting off pretty fireworks on the beach. |The supper buffet had a huge variety of dishes - we opted for Korean food which was delicious - and we were attended by charming and helpful staff. |We were fortunate to coincide with the blossom season and the walk round the lake beneath the flowering cherries was an unforgettable experience. |I highly recommend this hotel and we are looking forward to returning.

Beautiful architecture, amazing service, great view. But the food… was a huge disappointment. I was expecting a 5 star hotel meal, not a 29.99 dollar all you can eat meal. I know it is a buffet style dinner so you can’t really complain about the temperature or the freshness of food that much. But a lots of food were not seasoned properly, where simple things like soups and pasta being too sweet, too blend or too salty. Selection of desserts were good, in comparison to the food. Breakfast was much better than dinner as selection of bread was fresh and delicious, but the warm food section still had some unseasoned low quality food. Aside from the food, staffs at concierge desk and the fronts were all so sweet and gentle. We stayed in the gallery deluxe, which give access to view in 3 directions as well as a private balcony. Condition of the room was great, I could tell it was being maintained with care. The architecture is absolutely stunning and creates beautiful scenery with the nature. I would definitely go back for the view and spa. But next time I come back I would probably not get the complimentary meals with hotel.

We only stayed two nights here but I wish it had been longer. It is a lovely hotel , well maintained, clean and lovely staff who were friendly and helpful and found time to chat to you. The breakfasts are delicious...who wouldn't like pancakes with vanilla fruit and clotted cream. We ate in the bar in the evening and the meals were very reasonably priced. I loved the minstrels gallery running above our heads, so unusual and all part of the charm of this hotel. There is a large terrace where you can sit and gaze out to sea and a grassed area in front of that. We couldn't find fault with anything at all.

absolutely in love with this lovely hotel designed & built by richard meier firm! probably one of the best hotel in korea and this hotel is owned and operated by hyundai group. stayed at suite and regular rooms, which were very spacious with fantastic views. The buffet was great with the ocean view. its ambiance and service were 5/5 👌🏼 lastly, don't forget your swimsuits for the infinite pool :)

Location confronts the seaside, accommodation comfortable and serenely intact, and the spa is Omorovicza. Check-in requires a lengthy wait-time, staff are limited in English capabilities, rooms are strictly cleaned once a day regardless of the request of the guest, culinary menu is the same at each restaurant, spa staff snobby, and barely any non-Korean guests whatsoever.

Very fine hotel. Pretty expensive, but worth it. View of Gallery Double Room is awesome. You can see the sea and the lake in one room. The hotel is built on the hill, so the view is good even in the low floor room. Room is clear, people are kind and professional. Best hotel in this city i guess. It has fine-looks swim pool on top and sauna, but i didn't use it.
