"Enter off Cambie Street and climb a set of stairs to reach Seaport City Seafood, an elegant dining room where pristine fish tanks entice and enchant. It's an upscale setting that attracts a moneyed crowd, with tables set with white cloths and gleaming chandeliers overhead. It is best known for dim sum, which leans traditional while also delivering a fresh and elevated perspective. Case in point? The black truffle fried wild rice, an exciting and contemporary take on an old favorite. Bubbling congee is the ultimate comfort dish; steamed pork ribs are crispy-creamy with irresistible umami; and baked barbecue pork pastry is a winner. Stir-fried cumin lamb shank is a can't miss meal, and if you still have room left for dessert, choose the durian mochi or sponge cake with taro paste.Keep an eye if ordering off the menu, since dim sum offers the value at both lunch and dinner." - Michelin Inspector

Solo weekend dim sum brunch, heard lots of good things about this place, and it’s Michelin rated. Went there on Boxing Day around 1:45pm, no wait, got a table by the window right away. Food was very good, pan fried sticky rice was a surprise, I don’t see this dish offered anywhere else. The other steamed dumplings are all very good too, above average. Service was very good, super friendly comparing to other Chinese restaurants. Decor is on the fancy side, super grand, and bright. Definitely coming back for more, and try other dishes

Really great Cantonese/Dim Sum restaurant, we met a local here for brunch and were treated to some of the best dim sum we’ve had outside of Asia. The food was exquisitely prepared and the service top notch. The place was full the entire time we were there and the ambiance is traditional, but not overly, Chinese. We ordered a wide assortment of dim sum favorites and some vegetable, noodles and fried rice. Some of the standouts - BBQ pork bun with crispy layer, crispy tofu with fried beef, deep fried dumpling with taro. Will return when in town.

Don’t be fooled by the low ratings! The dim sum we tried were delicious. The shrimp dumplings had perfectly thin wrappers and a hearty filling. Another classic, the siumai was also great, with a good balance of shrimp and pork. I loved the seafood tart which had a nice and sweet mayonnaise sauce that made it super creamy. My highlights were definitely the crispy prawn rice rolls, as it was both crunchy and chewy from the skin, as well as the steamed bbq pork buns. It had a generous amount of filling, and the best part was the bun itself, which was soft yet it didn’t stick to my teeth. Perfect balance! One thing I would skip, however, would be the lemon bbq pork pastry, as I thought the pastry was quite thick and not delicate enough. Overall, a solid dim sum spot!

Having seen Seaport City Seafood Restaurant as a Michelin Bib Gourmand, we were excited to try the dim sum. Upon entering right at opening, there were plenty of people queueing for a table. We looked over the menu and checked all the items that we wanted to try. We ordered the Steamed Prawn Dumplings, Sticky Rice Wrap with Fried Scallop, Steamed Chicken Feet in House Special Sauce, Crispy Prawn Rice Rolls, Rice Rolls with Prawns, Taro Cake, Spring Rolls, Pan Fried Pancakes, Pan Fried Pork Buns, Mouthful Noodles, Braised Tofu with Wild Assorted Mushrooms, and Fried Rice with Fish Roe and Scallops. Right away, every dish elevated the normal dim sum with high-end, luxury ingredients. Unfortunately, the flavor profile didn't match the superior constituents. It feels like luxury was the main concern and not actual good food. Yes, the prices are elevated, but I can accept that with the better quality ingredients. However, the dim sum was ok which does not encourage a repeat visit.

My wife and I visited Vancouver after one year, we went to have lunch today with my mom at this restaurant the first time. We found this Dimsum even tastes better than Tokyo’s finest dim sum, where we stayed. All dim sums were great, I particularly like their shrimp dumplings, sticky rice and spring roll. In the past, we usually go to Richmond for Dimsum whenever we visit Vancouver. Now this place will be our to-go dim sum restaurant in Vancouver.

The prawn dumplings were so good I forgot to take a photo! Super fresh with perfect texture—honestly the best I’ve had in Vancouver. The rice roll with egg and beef was a close second—huge and delicious. Prawn spring rolls were tasty too, just a bit salty. No wonder this place is so popular. That said, the one star deducted was due to the woman at the concierge desk who had such a sour attitude, it really dampened the experience. No idea what was going on, but it wasn’t professional—especially for a high-end spot. Still, we’ll definitely be back for the amazing food.

Free 2-hour parking - same parkade as WholeFoods on P2. Direct elevator to the restaurant. High ceiling and create a very open ambiance. Attentive service - changes our plates throughout dinner with tea refill. The overall food quality is good - the vinegar ribs has the right tangyiness and crispy. The truffle chicken is interesting while I’m not entirely sure if the flavour profile matches. The steam fresh cod is a bit of disappointment - I would expect a restaurant like this would do well on a basic seafood dish - many scales still on the fish and it is overcooked. And the garlic stir fried veggie needs to follow up given the slow service. They offer free green bean dessert but we don’t like it so we order other dessert on menu. The almond dessert soup with egg white has good flavor however it is not hot enough - kind of lurk warm. I would definitely hope they can have a better timing and sequence on how they are going to serve the dishes - from light dishes to dishes with more intense flavour. But they just serve whatever without putting much thought on the progressive dining experience. Maybe we will give it another try on a less busy day, hoping they can offer a better dining experience.

I would not recommend this restaurant if you care about service. We made a reservation one day in advance for 4 people at 12:00. Later, our plans changed, so we called to update the reservation to 6 people. The person on the phone clearly said it was no problem. However, when we arrived, the staff at concierge desk said they couldn’t accommodate us. I said that was fine and asked them to give us a new number for a six-person table—I didn’t mind waiting until 1 PM. The host still refused to give us a number. It was clearly their mistake, yet they wouldn’t acknowledge it. I’ve lived in Vancouver for over 10 years, and I’ve never encountered a restaurant this unreasonable. Update 1: When we escalated the issue to the manager, he quickly helped us arrange a table. I hope they can improve their staff training. Update 2: The manager came by during our meal to apologize and offered us a complimentary dessert. The rest of the staff provided good service, so we believe this issue was only caused by certain staff. Changed the rating from 2 to 4.
