poseur store. just thrift at L Train Vintage instead or make/modify ur own clothes. they sell fake docs for $70 (with misspelled text on the bootstraps etc etc) and pre-made "DIY" jackets for $200+ this store goes against the entire point of punk/counter-culture clothing. they don't allow you to take photos (staff was rude about it and also played dumb about fake docs). it is extremely inauthentic and cringe. if you're a poseur and love overconsumption and have hundreds or thousands to spend, this place is for you!

Absolute cringe fest. Instantly within walking in there’s a group of absolute wannabes wearing pre made vests and pants. Mind you this is in the middle of east village a super nice area. The store is full of overpriced clothing, pre made vests, and designer streetwear. Employees Hawkeye you the whole time and follow you around. Absolute joke of a store. The plot has been lost completely. P.S to the kids who sit outside dressed in premade clothes and docs that look like they’ve never touched the ground a day in there life, pls go home to your 3 story house ❤️.

I really wish to love this store. It has such a unique and lovely interior and look very much like a punk store. But I felt like I was way overcharged for what I got. Don't get me wrong Im fine with spending 60 to 200 dollar on a item. But I got a stained jacket with a horribly repair stitched up left cuff. I was able to get the stains out and it wasn't that hard. I wish they put in as much effort into the pieces of clothing as making the store look pretty.

A place that has been in business for a long time and one of the few last staples of St Marks Place. However, their pricing is all over the place, some items are cheaper than you can find online while others are severely overly priced. If you go in with a keen eye and google you’ll be able to find either amazing deals or a complete rip off. The store is quite packed which makes it hard to sort through items, which can lead to missing out on some great finds. There is a lot of graphic imagery which some might feel offended by, but I also feel like that is the tone of the shop but it is worth noting for those who are not used to it. Overall, this is a fantastic shop that holds on to the old guard of St Marks Place. However, they’re milking that to justify certain pricing.

Made a special visit after being informed of the existence of this place and it was more than I ever imagined!! Soooo many cool things to look at and see! Can't wait to visit again and spend more time looking through the racks! I will say beware of bringing younger kids, some pretty graphic stuff in there, but a must see for the older crowd if you like punk/rock and roll and cool vintage clothes and tshirts and shoes and pins...and the list goes on. Amazing!

i feel like the clothes here are overpriced for what they are. lowkey the whole store just feels gimmicky. also the clothes are packed so tight that its so difficult to go through them at all. decor and everything feels cool though. be prepared for some intense stuff and please never bring a child here. my hugest issue honestly is that it was so hard to look at anything bc of how packed the racks were😭 not that i wouldve bought anything this type of quality for those prices anyway.

stay away from this store if you’re black, the store attendant was not discreet with grilling and following my friend and i around. cute clothes but i felt too uncomfortable in their presence to bother buying. at least i can look on shein/temu as yall said.

One of my fav thrift spots, crazy finds you just have to dig, atmosphere is immaculate, all about embracing the stigma and unconventional. No joke your heart races in this place and it’s a slightly uncomfortable but that’s all apart of the experience

Don't bother. This store has potential. Walked in, packed full of things, but cramped and hard to navigate. I get it, NYC real estate is expensive. Sign on the door said I needed to check my bag. Offered to check my bag, and the woman at the front assured me I didn't need to. Wandered, saw several ridiculously priced jackets, costing thousands of dollars. Hard no. Dug. Found a cool pair of pants, but needed to try them on. Asked to try them on at the front desk. Was told to go find someone on the floor. Asked around to see who works there. Finally found someone. Asked to use the fitting room. Was told I needed to check my bag. I said the front desk person said I didn't. He said it was different for the fitting room. By then, I was overwhelmed by the noise, the off smell, and the cramped spaces. Frustrated, so I set the pants down, and left. I was excited, walked 2 miles out of my way to get there. At least I know better now.

I was followed around the store for listening to music on my phone and changing my songs. Everytime i would take out my phone to change a song they would yell "NO PHOTOS!"... And im a cis white male, I can imagine it would be even worse for a poc. They do too much. The changing room is small. Everything is overpriced. You'll be walking out spending $200 for 3 items.

Its fine. A fun store to show friends and leave. Everything is pretty overpriced but im sure you can find a few gems. Workers do not acknowledge you unless you try to take a photo.

Cool spot to look around but obscenely overpriced for secondhand items. A Walmart t shirt with pompoms glued on for $60 seems like an unreasonable uncharge to me.

annoying guy with the face tats was on his phone the whole damn time and idrc but when he checked out my items, he didn't even remove my sensor. i'm calling the store and no one is picking up. there are like 7 different sources saying different closing times. their number and site don't work. i live like 1.5+ hrs away so its not like i can come here easy to get the tag removed. selection is also balls expensive which idm it's like a boutique basically but their racks are cluttered and i couldn't really grab anything without having everything tumbled over. too tight to move the hangers

shitty alternative store. shitty music. shitty clothes, and extremely shitty prices for costumes you could find at spirit haloween. crude humor for the sake of shock value. super inaccessable because of how tight the space is and how loud the music was. no customer service. dont go!! not for goths or emos or punks or anyone! lame corporate nonpolitical bull shit

Heard about the store's horrible ratings but decided to give it a chance. I regret that. Walked into the store to only find super cluttered and nearly unsearchable racks of clothing. items that were probably $10-$25 before was now upscaled to $50-$200+ even with clearly visible discoloration and stains. Workers are the most elitist "punks" I've ever interacted with and are just overall rude with a weird "get out of my face" attitude. Take your money somewhere else.

Yeah, pretty strange experience and won't be returning. Take that back. The only reason I'd return is if I was playing tour guide for a friend who was visiting and wanted to see a crazy store in the neighborhood... The customer service: non-existent to rude. The attitude of all three workers screamed elitist ahole. As if every single customer who didn't look exactly like them, was met with a distrusting, dead eyed look of skepticism. No thank you! The stock: this entire store was like equal parts thrift store, vintage shop, extreme sex and porno shop, and novelty costume shop. It's, well, a lot. Judging by the name and aesthetic I was expecting just a second-hand punk store. But to have all those things crammed into a store that's bursting at the seams, to the point where you can't take a hanger off a rack without pulling 5 more out, um, yeah, it's a lot. Not sure how but I managed to like, and purchase the one thing I was brave enough to try on despite the skinny blonde eye fucking me. The top was missing 3 out of 5 buttons and needed lots of hemming but I was in the mood to support a local store. I had to ask the cashier if he'd give me a discount off the $38 tag which was insanely high, and he mutters to me, barely audible, "We price ever everything knowing there are flaws". I paid and left. The surveillance: this is the worst part in my opinion. I felt in the wrong for even "shopping" as I kept getting shitty looks for pulling things off the racks. The blonde took me to a locked shit hole dressing room where she stood just outside to ensure I didn't steal. When I exited the room, I pushed the door too hard in the wrong direction and nearly knocked over a huge rack of scarves due to overcrowding. When I went to pay, the ahole cashier just said the price and I politely smiled. He stared at me, I stared back. Very awkwardly. Then he realized the reason I wasn't reaching for my purse was because he had confiscated it upon entry. Again, no thank you! All in all I felt my business was not wanted so I shall not return. A shame though, it had potential!

Not a bad store haha, the whole store feels like a cult movie. They have really pretty scarf collections but the atmosphere there feels very very hunted and the air smells very ancient. It's warm and crowded in there. Two employees looked at me and continued talking in Japanese which is the service I personally like because I don't like to socialize with employees.

I have loved this place since my late teens when I first move to NYC. People here DGAF, which is to be expected. These low reviews obviously don't get the aesthetic or vibe of the place, which I interpret it as ...we are all human, we are all a bit weird, and we all ultimately just want to ourselves. I mean Barbie dolls in compromising positions, I get it, I would joke around in my teens doing that to my dolls and laughing about it. The music or weird audio going on is great to shop to. I heard this one "song" I guess you could call it, where a guy kept talking about "a f***ing tic-tac". If the owner could kindly respond as to who the artist was I would be ever so appreciative, however if he doesn't, I won't hold it against his and still keep coming back anytime I get the chance. I'm not sure why there are negative reviews. The store has a HUGE inventory of unusual and cool clothing items. Staff was friendly......definitely not shirt and tie types but that's part of the charm.

I always find a diamond in the rough at search and destroy. I stop in every time I come to the city for old times sake. I don't understand why people feel threatened/ paranoid by the people who work here. I've never had a bad experience. Just do your shopping and don't take photos of the gimp masks.

I'm surprised so many celebrities keep coming here. It SEEMS cool when you first walk in, but you'll see right through it if you've been in/grew up in the alt punk scene your entire life. This store is fake punk. images of women mutilated are plastered on the wall for shock value, nazi sentiments/memorabilia on the mannequins, just awful. More of a rich touristy "I've been there" thing. Any actual person from the scene will scoff and walk right past this store. Employees always have an attitude/are stuck up for no reason, as if it's my fault they have no father figure! They act like you're the freshman and they're the seniors. It's hilarious because most of them are in their mid 20's. Every time I go in there, they act like i barged into their room without knocking. And I'm not talking about the fact that they make you put your bag behind the counter, that's totally understandable. They have a no photo or video policy, I had my phone to my ear calling (not FaceTime) with a friend and a female employee literally stood behind me like the grudge waiting til I turned around to tell me no photos or videos when my finger was literally covering the camera LMFAO. They're not too keen on eye contact or speaking clearly either. But I get it. I'd be pissed if I was surrounded by all that mess too. I've been here a few times in my short 23 years, sometimes I go home with something cool that was way too expensive, sometimes I don't. There's cool stuff, you just have to dig through all the B.S they refuse to get rid of. Most of the racks are so stuffed with clothes they don't even move when you try to sift. Most garments are cool, but very expensive since bills must be paid. The hand painted/distressed clothes are SO wack though. Like no actual artistic input went into it. Much of it is thinly painted on with cheap acrylic paint mixed with fabric medium, (instead of actual fabric/angelus paint, so it will not age/wash well.) half of it isn't opaque or legible. Maybe it's intentional, but also there's a reason that section has stayed relatively untouched for years. All of this is coming from a lifelong career artist, too. Tattoos are my main medium but I've made + sold better quality hand painted garments for much less since high school. Half of the hand painted/custom garments look like a blind person took a crap on some black fabric, blew their nose with it, and sprayed it with some bleach. But other garments will make you gasp, hug the jacket, and immediately walk to the registers. Basically, you'll probably be disappointed. But maybe not. They'll sell you an unwashed Harley Davidson shirt with a piss stain on it for $60. Hope this helped. Photo is of the last thing I bought from here. its vintage, actually from the 80s and was only $30 which is the cheapest jacket I've EVER seen there. Probably because its colorful and wasn't on-brand enough. Most other jackets here are $100+. Not sure how this one slipped thru the cracks. Like I said, SOMETIMES you find gold. I would give 1 star but they get 2 because I found this cool jacket.

I wanted to like this place, but with everything overpriced, along with carrying really disturbing imagery that supports Nazis and female mutilation (and that's putting it nicely, I'm not going to into graphic detail of an image that has been burned into my retinas), I think I spent at most 10 minutes browsing in here because I did feel like I wanted to throw up. I can't comment much on customer service. They're run by Japanese folks who request you leave your bags with them at the front desk, and they give you a numbered card of a porn star in a graphic position. I personally prefer to shop in silence anyway, and they left me alone as I browsed. There was a skull purse that was the same as one that I can buy directly from Killstar's online store for a significantly lower price, AND get the real thing, not a potential knockoff. There's edgy and punk and counterculture, and then there's just straight up graphic and stomach-churning. Thank goodness they had the "no phone" policy in the store.

One of NYC's best and most fun vintage shops. The curation and organization sets this place apart. An amazing collection with an empasis on rock and punk shirts sorted by band and category.

I was looking around Saint Marks place it's completely different than it was 20 years ago. Almost all of the cool stores in record stores the video store and other fun stores are gone. Somehow this place is still around. I walked in with my 35 mm camera around my neck and got screamed at not to take any pictures. Very unpleasant. I looked around for a few minutes and saw everything with ridiculously over priced. Things are also completely disorganized cluttered packed in like sardines and the merchandise was dirty. Plus they have pictures offensive to women and some Nazi stuff to. You could get things are still here for a fraction of a price anywhere else that sell stuff like this. Stay far away from this place extremely unfriendly customer service and a store filled with over priced junk

The selection is fantastic. Give yourself time. Lots to see. Yeve (not sure of spelling) at the cash register was super helpful and very pleasant.

I don't know what it was about this place, but within minutes of going inside I got a strong gut feeling that something wasn't right and that I should leave. The vibes are just so weird.... super claustrophobic. Not really what I wanted out of a "punk" store.

Completely stumbled upon this store by accident. I'd absolutely no background knowledge of this store before going in. We saw their window display and thought it looked cool... There were very rude "punks sitting on the steps as we walked in. A man was eyeing me creepily as I entered the store and was standing in the doorway hovering me uncomfortably as I exited. Overall, this place was insanely overcrowded with decorations and clothing. It was very hard to move between racks. All and all just insanely claustrophobic. The employees had no business being so rude and unwelcoming. The second I stepped approached this store i immediately knew I wasn't welcomed. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt here and assume maybe there was a sign somewhere saying not to take photos. (Or maybe on their website) Unfortunately the walls were so packed with "edgy" and offensive decorations that there's a very small likelihood I would've seen it in the first place. This being said, I'm a person who likes to take photos of the places I visit. Especially things I find unique or interesting. As previously stated, I had no clue about the no photo or video policy and was rudely yelled at for taking photos. I guess it's just assumed that everyone knows about this policy. I have pretty severe anxiety and after that encounter I knew it was time to leave. How fun it was to be creeped on the same man that was staring at me funny as I entered the building. We passed this store several times after we left and I couldn't shake the panic that crept over me each time I passed as I knew I was being watched. If you want affordable alternative clothing, don't come here. Despite being called a "thrift shop" (definition used very loosely as I understand not all thrift stores are exactly the cheapest...) the clothing is insanely overpriced. I'd give this place zero stars if I could. The whole experience left an awful taste in my mouth.

There is a lot going on in this store. This is a fun experience if you go into it fully knowing that it will be complete chaos. I personally liked the vibe of the store, it is a beautiful grotesque amalgamation of everything alternative. There is good music and a wide variety of aesthetics represented among the racks. I do agree with the other reviews that disprove of the customer service and pricing. I definitely did not feel welcome since I was not outwardly outfitted in alternative clothing. The cashier was very short with us and avoided all eye contact even when speaking with us...but its NYC where lackluster customer service this is the norm and sadly expected. The real reason I won't be frequenting this place is due to the price point. The majority of items are well over $100, and while they are awesome, the other more affordable items are also vintage pricing ($38-70) and are pretty obviously shotty thrift store finds. Very inconsistent on the inventory, and chances are if you like it, you can't afford it. I'd suggest popping in as a fun shock factor store every once in a while and shopping exclusively from the sale racks (which are admittedly very hard to access). I found an amazing moto jacket for $20. The guys outside: seem intimidating but are just hardened dudes hanging out. If he offers you a picture of one of his drawings, he wants you to go through the stack and pick one or else he feels written off and offended. After talking to him, it becomes apparent he is harmless and is passionate about his art/wanting to share it. This is one of those situations where if you treat someone with respect (regardless of appearance), you'll get it back, which is pretty punk.

I had to leave a review for this place because of the bizarre ass experience I had here while visiting New York. The only reason why I ever found out about this store was due to a tik tok I came across from a travel influencer account which should have been a warning sign because every travel influencer account I've come across always over hypes lame ass places that I regret spending my time at. Alas, I never learn. Anyways, walk up to this store, loving the decor from the outside and I am genuinely excited to see what this store has to offer until I am coldly greeted by the dude up front who eyes me and my partner down. But whatever, right? Weird vibe but let's give the store a chance. The amount of clothes and shoes with layers of dust that this store has accumulated is astounding lmao. You need a lot of strength to search through the racks which literally left my arms feeling fatigued and I found myself having to take breaks in between. It may sound like I'm exaggerating but I shit you not, the clothes are so tightly packed together that it's a whole ass mission to look at each piece they have to offer to be able to appreciate it and determine if it's worth purchasing and taking home. Speaking of purchasing, the prices??? Not very punk rock of these guys to be up charging fast fashion. There was one shirt I specifically have seen at Walmart (not even that long ago) that there were trying to sell for 48 fucking dollars... the audacity... Literally couldn't believe my fucking eyes but HEY, let's keep giving the store a chance right guys??? Now we were being followed by a white chick who is playing loss protection really fucking hard. Which is absolutely hilarious considering how difficult it would be to shoplift from here due to how tightly packed all of their racks are and there being little to no legroom to walk through this fucking store. I understand that yea this is your job, you wanna make sure no one is stealing shit yada-yada, but this chick literally had her eyes locked on our ass the whole fucking time which was so awkward and made me hella uncomfortable. She wasn't doing that great of a job being discrete about it, she pretty much followed us all around the store. But the BEST part of this entire experience was having our personal spy come up to us while I was contemplating buying this crocheted sweater, and telling me, VERBATIM, "You know, fun fact? Angelina Jolie came into this store and bought that exact same sweater you're holding." Okay. I've never felt so many goosebumps stand up throughout my body due to the overwhelming sense of cringe that was thrown at me. I'm still unsure as to whether that was some sort of selling point, genuine small talk (doubt it), or they were in some sort of way trying to belittle me/make fun of me? I couldn't give 3 fucking shits if Angelina Jolie or any other fucking celebrity came into the store and bought anything from these posers. Why the fuck would I care?? How does it make any fucking difference if a celebrity bought that piece that I was specifically interested in? It's still $76 and it's not anymore special if Moses parted the fucking sea while wearing that sweater. It's the opposite of punk culture and very much pro-capitalistic behavior to be idolizing celebrities that buy your overpriced, body fluid stained, fast-fashion. I didn't want to be mean to this person because I felt REALLY bad that they were unknowingly being hella cringe so I just replied "Wowwww really?? No way!! Cool! :3". Despite the fact that I really wanted to ask them why they thought I cared. That was pretty much the last straw for my partner and I so we headed out. Overall, this store is run by total posers who apparently lick the feet of the celebrities that walk into their store. Save yourself the time and check out other store and don't support this wack ass place. Y'all are wack.

I've come to the store for the last 10 years. Today was my last day! I was looking at a more expensive shirt above me and couldn't see the shirt behind it. The guy working after complaining about another employing eating ink yelled at me! He said i saw you pull the shirt down. I'm like I was trying to move it because I wanted to buy the shirt behind it. He stormed off. I asked the woman at the cash register whose the manager? She responded me and said I didn't yell at you. I asked her what is she going to do about him and she said noting. I left with a $380 tee shirt plus tax. You should not treat people that way if they're spending money. I would not shop here if I were you unless you like getting yelled at like the music playing in the background.

I went here yesterday and I found this amazing and dope Chucky doll and everyone was so cool to me the staff is just amazing. I love this store and plan on going back soon for more treasures.

It felt super cluttery and really closed in. The employees are generally monotone and eye you. There aren't many good shirts, they're shirts you can really find anywhere else. Their clothing is super overpriced. There are racist symbols and it just feels like they're trying to be way too edgy with gore and such. The atmosphere isn't great for claustrophobic people or people who don't like large dolls, masks, and other 19+ stuff

Extremely packed inside. But the main problems with this place are 1. the constant paranoia that customers would be stealing and 2. the employees' (perhaps owners themselves) attitude. The me mentality is just wrong for operating an ongoing business. In any event, the this review is consistent with the ratings and echoes others' reviews.

Im visiting NYC from LA and I had a great experience. I guess you'd need to be actually into punk and hardcore to get into what they're selling. I bought two badass shirts to take home with me that'll cherish forever!

Honestly, cool place! I love to browse through clothes and check out different styles. This place has a cool collection. Yes, there are a lot of clothes so it is packed and cramp but make the best of it. Not for the faint of heart so don't bring your kids. Also, don't complain because it's pretty obvious from the outside that there will be offensive material. With that being said it is slightly overpriced but what isn't in New York? And they are not rude people. They probably just deal with a lot of Yelpers that wanna snoop and be annoying. If you are genuine people will be genuine back

There's nothing more "punk" than charging $28 for a Wendy's employee shirt. Rude employees that clearly didn't have a father figure growing up. Tons of edgy imagery throughout the store which would make any 12 year old xbox gaming 4chan lurker giggle with glee. Absolutely no space to move between racks- can't even view most of the products. Honestly felt more like an art piece than a store. Place should be erased from the city. Do. Not. Go. Here.

pretty cool store. I didn't see any mutilation or nazi symbols around the store, but there was an array of porn plastered everywhere, which is to be expected. Prices are overpriced, but you have to take into consideration that this is a tourist attraction. You could say that the employees' attitudes follow that same edgy agenda to play into the aesthetic of the store. It's something to do when you visit New York, but I would never buy anything here. Much better stores to spend my money.

Overpriced, like extremely overpriced. Price ranges are rent prices for something you can get for cheap and from a fast-fashion retailer. Fake punk and gore pictures that are just distasteful. The attempt at shock value was poorly executed and the environment was uncomfortable as well. So crowded and employees are not welcoming in the slightest. There are way better stores than this one.

I was looking for cool things to check out in East Village while visiting the city for the weekend. It was a nice little side attraction, but it definitely wasn't somewhere I'd want to buy clothes from regularly. Atmosphere: This shop was unique, to say the least. Edgy af. Lots of porn, dildos, weird baby doll heads, and horror themed things in general. Overall, it was a pretty cool attraction if you're into the punk scene or even just looking for something with shock value. (Maybe not the best place to take kids.) I would've loved to take more pictures here, but they asked me to stop snapping photos. It was also very crowded, not with people, but with clothing. Everything is so packed together in their racks that a hanger broke when I tried to look through shirts. Service: I never had an experience with the staff being outwardly rude to me, but their attitudes made me feel like I wasn't welcome and they wanted me to leave. So I did after a few brief minutes of browsing. Clothing: They have a wide selection of all types of clothing. Nice vibes. I wish I could afford some of it. Price: Unfortunately, hugely unaffordable. I'm not paying over $50 for a "vintage" t-shirt and definitely not $700 for a "classic" studded leather jacket.

Cheap and bad imitation of the real punk shops in London. I go shopping in Camden Town every year and the old punks of London also have sort of overpriced items but at least they are friendly and super helpful. On a slow day you can even have a nice conversation about music and exchange whatever bands we are listening to but the rude attitude of over paranoia on this shop made me extremely uncomfortable. I actually did see a pair of boots I liked (with the UK flag on them) and thought to try them out but the girl at the store gave me such a nasty look and told me not to be trying them if I'm not gonna but them. Sorry I don't look like I have money to buy your stupid items as I could care less about wearing flashy brands and don't act like I'm better than others. I put the boots back and will now be looking for similar ones at the many amazing punk shops all over London when I go next week. I'm not supporting or giving my money to a place with such a nasty attitude. This store SUCKS!!!

I was going to leave a mostly positive review, but reading the other reviews made me reevaluate my experience I did see a lot of sexually explicit images which wasn't surprising for a punk store (or at least something trying to be one) however, I didn't see any bodily mutilation or nazi paraphernalia, but the fact that was in the store at any point means they won't receive my business ever again. they are very strict about their policies, I came in with a drink and whereas most places which say no drinks are fine if you just don't drink it in the store, a guy working there leapt up to stop me and had me leave it in the front. It is really packed in there with all the merchandise. Things are VERY EXPENSIVE. There was a shirt selling for $150 that I saw at another store online for $40. There were some broken platforms made of cheap foam selling for $190. There certainly was a bit of a coldness from the staff, but after I was in there for a while and chose some things to buy they warmed up, ( obviously they just wanted to make a buck.) I do love the things I got but I feel a bit ripped off. Go to Trash and Vaudeville instead

Although I have wanted to shop there for awhile, it was not a great experience. Employees so caught up in being cool that they were actually ice cold. And c'mon $163 for a not very well made extra extra extra extra large tee shirt was a bit much. Rock and roll is my life and has been for some 50 years. I know a little bit about it. Also was told very harshly, as if by one of the nuns back in school, NO PICS!!!! However. However; I did score a fabulous coat that I now covet, for a great price. What can I say.

idk what anyone in these reviews are talking about, the staff was helpful, great prices on things if you know what your looking for. 10/10 would come back anytime

I LOVE this place. So many unique items and clothing pieces that I only wish I could pull off. Sure some pricey items, but what was pricey I think is worth it. I got a vibe that they didn't care for me to be in there, but that didn't bother me! They err not mean at all, I may have been too bubbly for them haha. I enjoyed everything in the store. I'll definitely be back during my next trip to NYC. Also, if sexual stuff makes you uncomfortable, don't go in. I was unphased by it, but I'm sure others might not like it.

Calling any and all Metal, Punk, Pop Punk, Emo, Alt, whatever down the line...save up a few dollars and check out this place with an idea you're going on the perfect most metal hunt...you will find original Velvet Underground Ts, Sex Pistol branded leathers and ye old MotorHead 80s tour shirts you have begged and searched for...you will also find heavy p*rn, gags, and even the occasional and original Halloween mask...but from I who found my favorite jacket and Dead boys long sleeve, you'll be in heaven for as long as you can take the death metal in the background

This place has an interesting selection, some of which is reasonably priced and some overpriced. Seriously, nobody needs to pay $30 for a depressing Floridian vacation tee with "Myrtle Beach" on it. Navy jackets or some nice camp? Cool. Some people complain that the employees are rude while others complain about the complaining about the employees being rude. I fall into the former camp. The pale dude with the black ripped t-shirt and tousled brown hair (I'm petty) treated me like I didn't exist even after speaking to him directly after entering the shop. I get the impression that they probably judge people as either "normies" or "one of us." Anyway, I came in to check the furs. The faux were ok while some were falling apart, and some real ones were priced over what they'd be new. So... that's kinda lame. Ultimately, it's worth a drop-in if something catches your eye. Don't feel bad if you feel judged though! You're fine the way you are.

Most reviews here are negative but honestly they couldn't be nicer I asked for back patches and they gave me a book, small patches and they let me choose signs are honestly clear that say no pictures or yk food and drinks so i don't know why people hate this place, if you can't handle the punk attitude then don't go, a lot of people don't understand that the punk scene had a lot of confederate and nazi type of stuff for the political shock, Sid vicious wore a nazi shirt not because he was one but because he just wanted the shock of it yk just respect the punk culture please

It used to be cooler, I miss old staff but right now I feel like they rush me to go out. Very pricey even though they always have cool stuff on sale. I love atmosphere there. I just wish staff could change an attitude because hey I'm not going to steal your clothing ‍

I have to give this place at least 2 stars just for the huge selection here, the classic KISS pinball machine, and the weird display of dolls all around. Fun to look at while perusing the store. The racks and shelves are crammed full with all types of merchandise from leather jackets, to graphic t's, to footwear among others. Items range from gently used, to beaten up, to "ewwww, I don't even want that touching my skin". Basically, Search & Destroy is an overpriced thrift store for the wannabee punk rock poser crowd that now inhabits the St Marks area. Sure, it's a ripoff and some of what they carry is not really punk but more like trendy stuff that you see the "kids with money" wear nowadays. Still, if you hunt around the place there are many treasures to be found. Some nice vintage pieces in here and I did see some cool leather jackets on the racks. Still, the prices are insane for what basically amounts to used clothing. I used to come here years ago when St Marks Place had a real scene and meaning to it. Now it's a lame gentrified shell of what once was with chain restos and tourist crap everywhere. Search & Destroy has been around a long time and is one of the few spots that kind of hold true to the past, but at an exhorbitant price.
