I am posting this review a little late, but I came here for the Record Store Day black friday sale. Seasick Records posted that they would give out tote bags to the first 100 people, so we came out a couple hours early. We were the 48 and 49th in line. It was pretty cold out, so they had people take tickets. People then left to go in their cars or go home, and then when they opened at 10, they had people line up. I thought that this was very nice of them to do, as it was very organized. The store was also organized well, with the RSD products being first in the store, and then everything else after. The employees working were incredibly helpful. Overall, I had a very positive experience! This was my first time ever doing a Black Friday shopping thing, so I am glad it was so smooth and simple.

Google
The best record store in Birmingham. Employees make great music recommendations especially Jess she's the best! Amazing selection and constant good vibes.

My son, who is a college student, was provided the name of this shop to check out by one of his friends. He and I enjoy checking out our surroundings as well as unique places / shops. My son had never frequented a record store before, so we went. There was a great variety of albums, cassettes, and figurines. Truly loved the Beatles wall mural specifically. Items were reasonably priced. I'll definitely recommend if ever anyone mentions an interest in a good music shop.

Google
Lots of vinyl. Some CDs, mostly used. Nice and clean. Parking lot is rough, only about 6 spots. Friendly and helpful workers. They do have a good selection of signed and store special items.

Google
Another great little record store! Wicked selection of new and used albums and more. Friendly staff even hooked me up with an extra sticker for my listening area. Another one I'll come back to every time I'm in the area.

Google
New location is great.....better flow for the store....staff was very pleasant

Google
The venue is amazing. I did a sound production job for a band that played in the parking lot but got to tour the building and it was very modern clean and nice. I would recommend going and checking it out yourself.

Yelp
It is so nice inside and out! Its big, spacious, and VERY organized! You can buy used cd's AND cassette tapes! That, I love! You are greeted as soon as you walk in and they are super friendly. I found an Aaliyah cd for $3, full album... That is a GREAT price! I also decided to pop in on another day, and I wanted to buy my wife a "just because" gift. She LOVES Beyonce... I've accepted it, smh lol. So I purchased her Renaissance limited edition album for her. I bought her a record player a few years ago, and she likes to collect records. GREAT price... I will definitely be back ASAP! I recommend Seasick to anyone who loves music, who loves vintage, who loves great service.

Yelp
One of my fav record stores! Love the new location!! I've found alot of great gems here!! And the prices were reasonable!! I found albums as cheap as $3, $8, and $12.
google avatar

Yelp
Seaside records has seriously reasonable prices This new location is very spacious and the setup is nice. Jazz, pop, country, etc are all easy to find, separated into new and old selections. I purchased 3 items for $3.00 each. Two albums and 1 cd were purchased. They also have paraphernalia that you can choose from. This place does take cash and cards. The cashiers were helpful along with floor workers who I saw helping other customers with questions. I will be returning to this store. I picked up two records that were classics but new to me.

Yelp
I have been to this place report but never left a review. The store is very good. I found what I was looking for in there. People are friendly. The staff was running very easy to navigate

Blake W.

Yelp
Always a great experience. Brought my family with me for the first time, my two 5 year olds were over the moon as the cashier offered them seasick stickers... they still talk about it. Thank you for great customer service See y'all next time!

Yelp
DON'T TOUCH MY RECORDS! I always thought record stores was a thing of the past. But Birmingham has been continuously surprising me. Located in the Crestwood area of Avondale, Seasick Records stands tall in the shopping area next to Cahaba Brewing. From floor to ceiling there are records everywhere. As you walk through the store you see that there are so many vintage items too. Everything from Walkman (Tape players) to actually record and CD players. This store is amazing. Not only is it a record store, but on the opposite side there is also a men's barber shop. How many record stores do you remember with a barber shop inside too? The people are wonderful in the store. They will go above and beyond for their customers. If you are looking for something specific, and they don't have it they will go above and beyond to find it for you. I absolutely loved coming into this store. I will most certainly be back.

Yelp
This is a cool vinyl store and they have a decent selection of records. They have new and used vinyls some as low as $3. I love that this location also has a barbershop inside, how dope is that! The staff was super friendly and it is nestled in a small plaza with free parking. This place has been on my list for awhile and I've been in the mood for new vinyls. Some of the selections I was hoping for they did not have but the selection that this store did have was pretty good. I love that you can listen to the vinyls in store. Glad to have a store like this in the neighborhood, definitely recommend for all my vinyl lovers.

Yelp
I love Seasick! I always attend RSD here and they have perfected the process and it makes it so fun and memorable! I highly recommend visiting you won't regret it!

Yelp
I really liked this place and regret that, on the numerous times I though check these guys out, I didn't do it sooner!!! This is a newer location than where I remember them being, but it looks like it was a good move. Based on the size of the old building it looks like they have more space here, which they are able to take full advantage of by displaying more product. Great selection of vinyl that you aren't going to find at every other record (music) store. Found several things that would be classified as special order - bonus, prices were pretty good as well. Staff was really friendly and helpful and the checkout process was really good. Also, if you are looking for some new music and think you'd like a new hair cut - they have you covered, section is dedicated to finding your inner rock star look. Highly recommend!

TJ W.

Yelp
Nice record store. Something for everyone which isn't something you find everywhere. If you're in the area I would recommend this shop. Prices are reasonable. The two workers were nice and helped me find what I was looking for.

Yelp
Seasick Records is an independent record Store in Birmingham, AL and a force to be reckoned with of uniqueness. There's even opened up haircuts Service next to Seasick. The Shop has just about everything to cassettes, accessories, along with of course all kinds of LP Vinyl Records. Even turntables and Speakers. I love this store and they even have online ordering so you can order from their website know matter if your in Birmingham, AL or not. You could spend all day here they also have a record club and events all the time. Definitely recommend this place a 5 Starrrssss:) all the way.
google avatar

Jonathan R.

Yelp
The sickest record shop in Alabama and quite possibly the world. If they don't have it, then you don't want it. They should have a basketball court out back.
google avatar

Amelia L.

Yelp
Seasick records is THE spot for your vinyl needs in Birmingham There is new and used records, so price varies between. First time in, I picked up some solid records for $3 each!!! They have great merchandise options too. Can't wait to go back
google avatar

Yelp
Just got a Bluetooth turn table and was itching to find some records. They have a good selection and found a couple to tide me over. Very cool spot.
google avatar

Yelp
I haven't actually stepped foot in this store, but while visiting Birmingham, I messaged around to a couple vinyl stores looking for a specific version of a new release. We had to leave town before we got a chance to stop in, but Dan corresponded with me by email and had exactly what I was looking for! He was kind enough to hold his last copy back for me, and I had a relative go by and pick it up today. Really, this was above and beyond customer service! So thank you to Dan and Seasick records for excellent customer service. Next time we visit Birmingham, we will definitely stop in to peruse for those hard-to-find vinyls! A+ all the way!

Yelp
I am no where near cool enough to be buying vinyl records. I occasionally visit with my son who regularly purchases vinyl through record clubs, directly from artists, online exclusives and of course brick and mortar locations. This is by far his favorite in the Birmingham area. Not only does he feel that they have a great selection of both new and used items, but they have special events and concerts. He is also a big fan of Newman's Classic Cuts. He now is less likely to grumble when his mom suggests needing a haircut.
google avatar

Andreas P.

Yelp
This is a clean and new spot for record shopping that shares a space with a barber shop. The stacks are easy to navigate and the used section has some real bargains. They put out new arrivals on Saturday. Local acts are marked and there's some exclusive records just sold in this store. The staff is super friendly and this area of BHAM is an up and coming hip part of town. Prices are fair and great selection of new and used vinyl. Keep independent record stores alive!
google avatar

Michelle H.

Yelp
This place is the best place in Birmingham to get new and used LPs. The staff is extra friendly too. Right now they are taking appointments and limiting the amount of walk ups who can shop at the store, but never fear, their online shop is FULL of great finds. They offer curbside pickup if you order online too (they also ship)! They also participate in record store day!!!!

John S.

Yelp
My 14 year old just got into vinyl and this place is very cool. Great selection of new and and used stuff that is in good condition. They have a listening area set up and cool music playing in the store. No hassle no bother and just took our time looking through and talking music. The used stuff is pretty cheap and gives you an opportunity to try something you wouldn't normally for 3 bucks.

Yelp
I live in California and purchased some items from Seasick Records during Record Store Day. Despite it being maybe the most hectic time for independent record stores, they still shipped my items incredibly quickly, and the records arrived at my door faster then some of my in state shops are able to deliver. The team here is incredible.

Yelp
My friend Casi C. is a fellow Yelp Elite and invited me to hear a band play here last week. It was actually really nice, and I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy it at first. I walk in, and the place is packed with people. There are records from floor to ceiling so if you have a record player, you should definitely check this place out. I look over at the corner and see what I thought were tattoo chairs. Turns out they are barber chairs! I totally didn't know they cut hair here and have never heard anything but great things reading other yelp reviews. The only reason I'm giving then 4 instead of 5 stars is cause I don't know if they have air conditioning or not. It was a pretty humid day outside, and if they did have the AC on it might have been warm in there since there were so many people. I'm actually very afraid of cold weather so I can only imagine how other people felt here. Last thing I want to give them kudos to? Having Kacey Musgraves!!

Yelp
5 year anniversary at Seasick. I'm getting a haircut and beardshape and enjoying the music. Cool place to be, and get your beard fixed. Lots of LP records, cd's and good coffee next door.
google avatar

Chip C.

Yelp
Seasick is a pretty cool place, but this review is mostly for Newman's Classic Cuts, which is located inside of Seasick Records. They do haircuts and beard trims. I've gone here twice now for a beard trim. A.P. has done a great job both times - family and fiance' have loved it both times. Both A.P. and Newman are friendly and entertaining. They also offer other hair-care products in the store if you're looking to try some out. I'll be back here again!
google avatar

Kevin N.

Yelp
My new favorite spot to get a haircut. Very relaxing environment. I mean it's inside a record shop. What more can you ask for. Newman definitely knows what he's doing. Got the perfect fade that I wanted with a clean edge up.

Yelp
Nice record store over in the Crestwood area of town. No gripes here, but don't go expecting to shop if they have somebody performing in store. My first experience happened to be on record store day and it was loud with tons of people standing in the way at each of the bins. This store isn't huge and the selection isn't massive, but that's ok. There's used, select genres in new, 45s, comps, and a cd listening station and everything is organized alphabetically. The store's vibe is pretty cool as they tend to spin some of their personal favs. If you like what you here, ask em about it. Also, they will order anything you don't wanna order yourself. There's an in house barber as well. I've never gone in and not seen somebody get their hair cut. May be a good sign! Go check out the store if you're into records and such!

Yelp
My husband and I go to Birmingham a couple of times a year and we always make it a point to stop here. The space is well organized, with plenty of room to walk around and browse. They have a good mix of new music, and older, used records. A great place to find music local to the area as well. The barber working in a corner of the shop is a fun and unique addition. Great place to stop and browse for records!
google avatar

Jacky V.

Yelp
This is one of the best places in Birmingham to get a decent record. Most of there stuff is hipster-ish but in a good way. They have a small selection but what they have is great. I'm not into buying "new" artists (that's what Spotify is for) so I walked out with a few things from the used section. Bruce Springsteen and the Rocky Horror soundtrack. Katie that works behind the counter is a doll. She is really nice and gives great service. She's dresses really cute too! (Not that that matters I'm just a lady that enjoys a different style!) They also have a barber in the store. He cut my boyfriends hair and did a great job. He looks even more handsome now! If you wanna be cool you should probably go to Seasick. It's pretty damn cool.
google avatar

Nicholas M.

Yelp
Bada$$!!!! A place where I can grab a couple records for my collection, catch a live show AND get my hair cut? Hell yea.
google avatar

Scott M.

Yelp
This is a review for Newman's Classic Cuts barbershop: awesome place, highly-skilled barber in a cool location. You should definitely try it out.
google avatar

Anthony L.

Yelp
This place is awesome. Friendly staff. Great records. Live shows from time to time with FREE beers. Can't beat that. You can also get a great haircut from Newman. I stop in all the time to get a cut and check out the new records in stock. All around great place.

Todd U.

Yelp
Seasick is the most fantastic record store!! records, in stores, listening parties, some times just parties, and the staff are some dope mother fuckers!
google avatar

Jason F.

Yelp
We stopped in last week, and picked up some used classics. The staff was great, store was well organized, and I was surprised to see an in store barber. I plan on coming back regularly, for a haircut and to look over their great used collection.

Cody M.

Yelp
Hands-down best record store in the Birmingham area and best store that sells records that I've visited thusfar. The service is very friendly, everything is very well organized, great range of selection from original first pressings, reissues, live imports, new releases, and even local artists. They hold some good live shows too. I have yet to try Newman's Classic Cuts but I've heard good things. Great environment and I've never left the store empty handed. I urge you all to give this place a visit.

Reilly K.

Yelp
Not a big selection of used records in this store, which is a little bit of a disappointment. But what's worse is the breaking of a cardinal rule of record stores; you don't take people's money for used records without providing a turntable where customers can actually listen to the records before buying, since used records can easily be scratched and skip. You want to know that before buying. Finally, the customer service and prices could be better as well. You all have a good thing going for the most part. Why not fix the bad and make it great.
google avatar

Scott H.

Yelp
I buy a good bit of vinyl and have several 10 albums in rotation and I only purchase at Seasick because it is the GOAT

Corey C.

Yelp
This is the best place in Alabama to buy a record, and the best place in Birmingham to get a hair cut. Friendly folks and great selection of music.
