Seaside Buffet

Fabulous value for the selection offered. Especially the seafood. We would easily have spent more at a regular dine in seafood spot compared to here. Quality is consistent. The food is flavorful and tasty. My kids love the dessert here: tons of different flavored ice cream, s'mores station, chocolate fountain. Great location for families. Service is always excellent too.

The place look ok from outside. Service is very good. The seafood is not fresh. Most of them cooked from frozen. Low quality of food, not to compare with price.

Awesome food with a wide selection and fresh too. Favorites were the seafood. Crab legs were massive and full of meat. Not salty too. The salmon sashimi was so buttery and the ikura sushi was yummy. Friendly staff and fast service. Highly recommend!

Just had dinner. Definitely worth every dollar. AYCE crab legs and oysters for 30 bucks. Both the hot and cold crab legs were full of meat to the shell and not salty like other places. And the cooked oysters were huge too and delicious.

Awesome selection of Chinese food and seafood! The crawfish were so big that even their claw meat was worth eating. Snow crab was aplenty in both hot and cold presentations. Baked giant oysters and sea snails were quite unique. Great service and great price. Thanks!

DIARRHEA ! FOOD POISONING ! Celebrated my birthday here today but won't be coming back. Should have just went to Natsumi and didn't give this place a try. Big regret !

Delicious food. Cheaper than their competitor Natusmi nearby. Went with friends and it was only 32 a person compared to 34 at Natsumi. And Seaside had a bigger selection with hot and cold crab legs and raw and cooked oysters. Tons of ice cream too. Definitely recommend!:)

Had an excellent experience at Seaside Buffet. I had a funeral service for my Dad and needed a reception gathering for my guests afterward. Emily with Seaside Buffet was very accommodating and took care of all our guest. Will definitely recommend this place to anyone and come back again. Good was great too!

Overall, pretty good. We went there on a Friday for Dinner (6 pmish) and it was pretty empty. We were a bit nervous, but decided to try them anyway. We were happily surprised with how fresh and not overcooked most of the food was. The restaurant is beautiful and clean. We plan to come back, possibly on a Saturday or Sunday when it is busier. Pros: * Most of the food was good; small batches so it stayed fresh. * Nice service * Clean restaurant * Sushi section is amazing Cons: * Some of the food was way over cooked or had just sat too long. We tried a Taro bun and we couldn't even get the paper off it * Bland crab legs. There were cooked well, so if you are a crab & butter lover, it's good. Extra: * Plenty of parking * Plenty of seating * Bar area * The price seems right for the selection and variety that they off.

We came here for my mom's birthday. We are finding that there really does not seem to be any real good buffets in SD anymore. We used to frequent a different place on Miramar but I don't believe it's open anymore. We headed out around 4 pm on a Sunday. We got there; there was plenty of parking. We went inside and took a walk around to see what they had to offer. They seemed to have cold seafood, some sushi in the front area. Fruits/ jellos right next to the chocolate fountain. I think the idea of the fountain is fun for kids but it isn't exactly that tasty. Then there was a section for desserts and a freezer of Thrifty's ice cream. Most of it was sherbert or some gelati (Italian sorbet -like). They had chocolate, vanilla, coffee and strawberry ice cream. They had a make your own s'mores bar which is good for kids. Hot food section, fried egg rolls, chonuts (Chinese donuts)some chicken wings, French fries, etc. They had hot crab legs, HUGE oysters, crayfish, clams, steamed Rex sole, snails!! and even duck! and the typical Chinese dishes as well. They carried typical soups and a few 'dim sum' like items. They had a slab of brisket out. Next stop was the noodle station as well as Teppanyaki grill. We got some galbi fried up, I have to say that was pretty delicious. It was a tad salty but we grabbed the ones sitting in the marinade. We were disappointed in the crab here, it didn't have much flavor at all, it should have some salt from the ocean but none of that. As if the crab legs were rinsed until there was no flavor. They did have a 10% discount for seniors, and you can print out a $2 off coupon for dinner. That isn't much for a table of 5. I will say that the staff were definitely working nonstop and they did a good job of putting out new food and replacing the dishes. It was also very clean at this restaurant. My mom said she had never been to such a clean bathroom at a buffet place. My mom did note that everything was not overly salty like a lot of buffets. That was a huge plus since she has to watch her salt intake. Would I come again? I might consider it down the road, but I would hope that some things would change. Food was ok, some things were good, some things were not good. The staff was the best thing here. Service: 5/5 Ambiance 4/5 Food: 3/5

Delicious and great deal! 6/21/25 Very big and spacious inside and lots of food variety. Everything I tried tasted fresh. The ice cream was pretty good. The sorbets were on the lighter side. Service was good too. Great for big groups!

Great price for lunch! Less than $20. Staff was great as well. They have thrifty ice cream, a s'mores station, and a chocolate fountain. It's worth it just for the dessert.

Absolutely loved! The food was incredible, with a lot of diverse options. There were giant oysters, frog legs, snails, dumplings, bao, you name it! There's also a section for sushi, desserts, and a teppanyaki station! Customer service was also amazing, with plates being picked up the minute you left for your next meal, and consistent attention to beverages. The restaurant itself was clean and relaxing, with lots of space and a very nice atmosphere. 10/10, would absolutely come back!

Had our grandmas 89th bday celebration today, the food and service is excellent!!! We highly recommend this place

It's been a while since our last visit here, I believe it was 3 years ago and I remember back then this buffet is really good, but on our recent visit it seems like the food was not as good as before. They all look good and were presented well but it's just not that tasty anymore , but some are still good and still they have lots of Seafood selections . The place was not packed at all either, it was probably a weekday. We will try this buffet again over the weekend to see if the selections of food will be good and much better. But customer service was always good and plenty of space for parking .

There was a nice variety and some of the sushi rolls were worth 2nds, but I was disappointed that their teppanyaki and noodle bowl station was set up, but unmanned except for the tip jar

Visited 01/24/2025 Friday Night Dinner. Everything was Fresh and And Seasoned Well and a Great Selection Also. Many Great Stations to choose from for Soups, Fried, Steamed, Baked, food and even a Meat Carving Station. Noodle Bar included with a selection of thins to add. Drinks are extra but refills are free. This is a good Choice when you want a Tasty Asian Seafood Buffet.

Been coming to this place for a while. Still a good affordable place to eat with a big family!

Ate here last night Good food good variety. Very clean and great service A little disappointed int he dessert options. We chose this buffet for that reason-website stating cotton candy, smores and chocolate fountain No sign of cotton candy, smores station was lacking - no flame (probably could have asked staff) but no graham crackers either. Chocolate fountain was there but verrrry little dipping options! Melon pineapple and oranges only.... None of which go great with chocolate like that... ive been other buffets with way more options. Ice cream gets points because thrifty is awesome, but there were zero toppings. And also slightly put off because it was self serve and some of the ice creams/sorbets looked a mess and melted.... I probably would try different buffets in the future but it wasnt bad.

12/27/2024 - I went here Friday around 11:15am. There was just two families here. The food is spread out which I like which forces you to walk around and not be stuck in a line. A great variety of food to choose from. I printed a $1 off per person coupon. The prices are a little higher than I was expecting and we did the lunch option. They have a hot soup and wok area as well. It was very clean in there and punctual removing dishes. I love the signs to not waste food. Negatives - salt and pepper shrimp were large but not flavorful and the garlic stump was below average. The crab fried rice which is usually a Thailand dish wasn't flavorful. Positives- the sushi was a good variety and rest, lots of veggies and cold/hot items to choose from. I loved the Chinese donuts, General TSO and the salt and pepper squid the best. I will give this 5 stars overall and will bring more people next time. Check out photos.

The food was mediocre at best. Not freshly prepared by and large. Dried up crab legs and overcooked shrimp. The food was prepared using packaged sauces and flavor. Didn't see gloves or hairnets on food handling people. Frankly I should have known it wasn't so great when there were only a handful of cars on a Sunday afternoon. I was hoping we didn't get sick.

Good was delicious! Staff was very helpful With the little ones, they helped scoop Ice cream for them. Very clean and relaxing. Really loved this place, will definitely be back soon! :)

This place is a hidden gem! I came in with high expectations and left completely satisfied (and full!). Great for big gatherings too. Came for a family gathering of 80 plus people. The variety here is incredible everything from fresh crab legs (HOT and cold ones) to fresh sushi and sashimi and a killer teppanyaki grill station. Every dish tasted freshly made, not like it had been sitting under heat lamps. The staff were friendly and attentive. They kept our table clear and drinks refilled. The space was clean and well-organized.

All the food has been sitting out for hours, everything is dry and nasty. Don't waste your money here. only positive are the waiters are nice

Went there yesterday for dinner (8/30/25). Food was horrible. Last time I went the fish was really good. All the food was old. Fish was dry, crab legs were very old, and there was nothing good to eat. Quality of all the food was just horrible, not sure why this is a 4 star resteraunt. $36 plus tip is too much for very low quality food. Will not be eating here again.

The lunch rate is the same as the dinner rate which is about $33 but then you don't even have enough selections. The ice cream area has an almost empty Neapolitan and looks nasty. I will not return. Poor quality of food. I should have gone to a full Chinese restaurant with freshly made food.

This was hands down one of the best buffets I've ever been too. From the quick service to the variety and freshness of the food, this place has it all! This place is very large and can easily accommodate large groups, there was plenty of TVs as well and a full bar! The variety of food was outstanding, there was sushi, seafood, meat, bao buns, and tons more! There was so much to choose from and everything I got I loved! The frog legs were the BEST I've ever had. They were so moist and crunchy and had excellent flavor. I also loved the fried rice, Mongolian beef, the hot and cold crab legs and the sushi! The sushi was outstanding for a buffet and there was tons of options! They even had sea snails, that was fun to try. The s'mores station was so unique and so cute, as well as the cotton candy and chocolate fountain. The banana pudding is also a must try. I can't wait to come back, I am blown away that I haven't checked this place out sooner! Highly recommend.

Super fun experience considering I haven't been to a buffet in years! SO MANY options to choose from, if was fun to pick and choose different things. Super spacious place, would be great for events and parties! Overall the food was good and I definitely left FULL! Fun little additions to the place such as a chocolate fountain and a s'mores station! Staff was very kind and attentive and the restaurant was very clean and organized!

It was my first time eating here in a long time. It has probably been over a year or so. My experience was average, not terrible but also not amazing. I didn't have high expectations to begin with just because I'm familiar with this style of buffets. At the time that I came in, there was only one worker who sat us down and took drink orders and another who was clearing out plates. It was a little difficult to call someone over for assistance because there were only two of them helping out all of the tables. This is a good place to come to if your party is looking to have a variety of food. The food here was good and fresh, however some items were better quality than others. One item that really impressed me with the quality was the salmon at the sushi portion of the buffet. Their salmon sashimi looked and tasted fresh. I used to steer away from the sushi portion of buffets because the quality isn't good, but the fish I had was really good. For the nigiri and the rolls they had, I do wish the rice was better. It was hard and didn't seem like it was your typical short-grain sushi rice. I also enjoyed the dessert here. I liked how they had the s'mores station and thrifty ice cream.

Always enjoy coming here when needing a sushi fix. Most of the sushi is imitation crab and avocado and I love it. Nice variety of hot food items and they have a habachi station too. They have cotton candy and chocolate fountain. The service was great! I told them it was my mom's birthday and although they don't have a bday discount, they did put together a small cake with a candle and played the birthday song on the speaker. Def give it a try!

Where do I even begin, it's your typical buffet. Food was dried, flavorless. Seems as though it's been sitting out all day. The ice cream section was a hot mess. Everything was mixed up. The staff was great, did what they could, picked up our plates pretty quickly. Was definitely not worth the price we paid.

Service was amazing. They accommodated our party of 100 without any complications. Food was just as good as the service. We would definitely come back for our future parties.

Came here with my son after a day of work. We were both excited to eat! My son's eyes opened wide when he saw their layout and variety of foods. We both hit up the buffet and swallowed far more than $30 worth of seafood. (pics attached) I started with sashimi and rolls, then moved to nigiri, then crab legs. It was awesome! I ate so much I didn't have much room for dessert.. Service was attentive until I wanted to leave, I couldn't find anyone to give me my check. The only thing I thought was weird was the music they were playing pretty loud. It is an Asian restaurant, serving seafood/ Chinese, and playing deep Hip Hop/ R&B tracks. Like huh?? It didn't match the ambiance at all. That part was kind of strange.. Good food tho!

Visited the restaurant on a Monday around 3:30. The food was typical of a normal Chinese buffet. Food was okay, nothing special, lots of options though. I didn't like the fact that my 3 and 5 year old were charged 1/2 price buffet fee...there is absolutely no way they will ever eat close to 20 dollars in food. Be aware that kids don't eat free or a reduced price..they eat for half of what the menu price is.

Seaside serving yummy food as always! I love the crab legs and crawfish. The service is consistent--the employees are very kind and proactive. Looking forward to my next visit. :))

This place is quickly becoming one of our favorites. We called ahead and they were able to accommodate a group of 40 on short notice. The food was good and fresh, and the staff is amazingly friendly.

I have been to many buffets in San Diego and Seaside by far is the best.Their selection of dishes is fresh, and super good quality.... And. Super clean!!!!!!! I came here specially for their hot and cold crab legs and spicy crawfish... and did not disappoint and they also have a great selection of craft beer. Great choices in deserts The customer service is extremely good they always have a smile on their faces .

Came on a Thursday at 3pm and the food is always hot and fresh. Good music and never have to wait to be seated. Good dessert station as well. I always recommend seaside!

I can't say enough good things about Seaside Buffet. We hosted a large group here for my father's funeral reception, and the staff handled everything with such grace and agility. Their service was truly exceptional--kind, attentive, and so accommodating during an emotional time. The food quality was incredible--fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Everyone in our party raved about the variety and how delicious everything was. Seaside Buffet went above and beyond, and in my opinion, this is hands down the best buffet in San Diego.

Quick and easy chinese food buffet. Its not best but for the price it has flavor and plenty to go around attentive service and food stays stocked. Pretty good selection for the size and it is my go when i am in the area and i am trying to get something to eat but cant make a decision on what to eat.

Everything was well kept. Food was delicious. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. My fiancé & I were visiting from Arizona & loved this place! The ice cream bar was my personal favorite!

Delicious buffet with fresh seafood, comforting Chinese food, and good sushi. The desserts were amazing too! They have a chocolate fountain, smores making station and ice cream. The staff was very nice and provided great service.

Delicious crab and seafood buffet. As far as buffet crab legs go, these were great. There were two different options, chilled and steamed; both delicious. There was also another good variety of sea food and meats available as well as a fruit and salad bar with some warm side dishes. If you're looking for a nice quiet evening out, this isn't the place. It's pretty busy here, and lots of commotion. Service is good, and your table is cleared as you finish plates and drinks are kept full. This is a really good value for some good seafood.

Decent buffet for the price. I initially thought it was on the pricier side but I guess now with how inflation has got us all its actually not bad for all that you get. We went yesterday on a Wednesday night around 6-7pm so it wasn't packed but had people trickling in for dinner. The price for an adult dinner was $30. They do have kids pricing based on age and height. So just to give you an idea my son is pretty tall for an 11 y/o but he was under 50" so he was 1/2 the adult dinner price $15. The buffet had a pretty good buffet of items. There were little portions inside the trays but they were continuously being filled. I prefer that anyway so the food's not sitting out too long and gets stale. They have disposable utensils. I really enjoyed their menu selection. They do have a hot grill to warm up any foods or for the noodle station grill. Their bathrooms were clean. Their floors were not sticky. They have a wide assortment of dishes. Plenty of parking. Decently priced. Definitely satisfied my Chinese buffet cravings!

Way too expensive for the menu. $32/ea after 3:30. Food was sparse. Egg drop soup cold and goopy. Nothing looked fresh and so many tasted old/fishy. Its no wonder we were the only ones eating. Salted shrimp good. Cream cheese wontons so hard couldnt chew them. Desserts had no flavor
