I ate here with my husband and toddler for breakfast. We were seated quickly and our drink order was taken; however, after this, the service wasn't great -- it took them about 10-15 minutes to come back and get our food order and that was only after we flagged them down, finally. The wait staff was clearly struggling -- seemed like they were all in training but with no one to lead them. They were all polite though. From the time we sat down til the time our food came out it was over 45 minutes. It wasn't even really crowded either. And, anyone with a toddler knows that that is unacceptable. Eggs and pancakes should not take that long to cook.
My coffee tasted burnt and they never brought me cream. I had to go up to the bar area and take some that they were setting up. I also never got my water. Once our food came out, it was very mediocre and small portions. I ordered The Beach Side omelette without ham, but two pieces of ham were in my order, and it came without avocado. I asked our server for avocado and you could tell she was understandably annoyed at the kitchen for getting my order wrong. It seemed like the kitchen was getting a lot of things wrong. However, I didn't have time to ask them to make a new one because it would clearly take forever, I was starving, and we had to get our toddler down for a nap asap. My toddler had the blueberry pancakes, which were way better than my omelette. My omelette also had all the veggies diced so finely and mixed together you could barely discern the flavors. There was also no salt on the omelette, nor was there any on the table. My husband had the hash which he said was just okay. I also ordered a side of hash browns, which were good, but such tiny portions -- like 4 bites worth. I was surprised the small omelette only came with a side of toast and potatoes had to be ordered as a side. Definitely not worth the price.
Because we were seated inside, we could see the kitchen and it appeared as if the kitchen staff was very overwhelmed and didn't have a grip on what they were doing. They didn't seem understaffed, but I could be wrong.
Having grown up in Vero, I really miss the old seaside grill. Their eggs were a million times better -- amazing big breakfast omelets. I miss their grits too. It was tasty diner food at great prices with very reliable service.
Unfortunately, we will not be going back unless there are big changes.
