"Seasons & Sessions, the reincarnation of the Black Squirrel bar that was a longtime burger destination in Adams Morgan, is closing a little over a year after after the owners rebranded it. The three-story restaurant had a 60-seat gastropub on the first floor with a menu by Executive chef Moe Atari, including items like duck wings and a house burger. The basement was a bar and live music venue, and the third floor was an arcade room." - Tierney Plumb

Was very curious to see the updates to The Black Squirrel and finally stopped in this week. Previous reviewers are spot on! The food is delicious; we had the spare rib and the fried chicken and both dishes were excellent. The mashed potatoes on the fried chicken entree were unreal! Wine was $5 on happy hour - hard to find their specials online. The chef introduced himself and presented us with pumpkin creme brulee topped with gingerbread, an excellent winter dessert. Bar downstairs had live music and a small crowd on a Thursday night. Will definitely be adding this to our neighborhood rotation!

Nice enough staff, but the food was relatively meh. They also claim to have more than 40 beers on tap, but their oversized beer list had only 14...at least three of which were either “out” or they couldn’t get to work. They put some money into fixing the place up, which was nice...but stopped short when it came to the tables. Unfortunately, since we were hopeful when we walked in, we probably won’t make another visit.

I was out on a Friday night looking for a place to grab a beer and get something to eat. I decided to give this place a try based on their beer list and boy am I happy I did. The atmosphere was good and the bartenders were great. I ordered a burger, fries, and a side Cesar salad. Everything was delicious and the burger was perfectly cooked. The beer menu had something for everyone and their happy hour extended until 9pm! If you're looking for a place that has great food and beer without all of the fuss this is the spot.

I freaking love this place. I have tried the shrimp and grits, Mac and cheese, acorn squash, and fried chicken over mashed potatoes. All amazing. Also have had tried the pecan pie and brioche bread pudding desserts. You can’t go wrong. Mo is an inspired chief. The best. Our server Brooke was also excellent. The beer selection is wonderful. Love. Love. Love.

Fantastic food, great drag brunch hosted by Venus Valhalla. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Every dish is fantastic, especially the pork belly appetizer. The drag show is a ton of fun and has great performers. I’ve been a few times and making it a regular part of the rotation.

Giving 3 stars because the staff were friendly and accommodating, but the food and drinks were overall pretty disappointing. The highlight for our group was definitely the mac n cheese, which was pretty good. We also enjoyed the potato skins, but they didn't have all of the toppings listed on the menu (and it's pretty hard to mess up potato skins). Neither the s&s and portabello burgers were standouts - and the s&s burger should have had pork belly on top, but it was basically jerky. Overall wouldn't recommend coming back here for a meal, I might come back for happy hour drinks + the mac n cheese.

We ordered 6 appetizers when we sat down. The waitress took our order (without writing anything down) and proceeded to put our order in their system. We got a couple appetizers, but then nothing starting coming out of the kitchen. The waitress never checked up on the status of our orders, then we said something and the waitress explained that the chef left the kitchen in a temper tantrum and forgot to make our other appetizers. We were pretty confused about the whole situation, and realized that this place is unprofessional and unorganized. Probably won't be going back... Food tasted good at least

Tried it for the first time last night and loved it. Staff were extremely attentive, prices were really reasonable for carefully crafted food and drink. The vegetable lasagna was quality, and the steak was not overcooked.
