Queer Bars in Seattle’s Capitol Hill Fight to Remain a Refuge - Eater Seattle

"Sometimes crisis brings opportunity, which Toce calls 'the metamorphosis that can come from adversity.' She would like to see more queer space that targets patrons at 'different points in our lives,' such as 25-year Hill veteran Gay City, which boasts a library and coffee shop along with arts and culture programming, youth services, and health and educational resources." - Holly Regan

Very helpful, nice people. Especially because they help people doing hiv test and getting prep.

I had the best experience at Gay City. Charlie, Kathleen and the team were friendly, welcoming, and exceptional. The whole team helped me obtain the care I needed with urgency. I highly recommend it to anyone and I will definitely be back. Thank you!

Google
A very gross place. Steer clear of this place and all “pride” stuff if you aren’t a pdf file.

It's been 4 weeks since I've had testing done and still no results. Called after 2 weeks and was given some lame excuse due to pride & laboratory backup. Called again a week later and no answer, no followup after leaving a message. Absolutely not okay at all to make people wait this long for something so important. Go elsewhere if you can!

It's a wonderful place for any services you're there for. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about what they do. You definitely feel welcomed in this space and I would recommend everyone to choose this center for their testing needs and other community services! And would also encourage those who receive their free service to leave a donation if possible, as STI/HIV testing is free of charge and completely confidential :)

I have never been met with so much hostility and rudeness. I was going in to ask for information and asked to use the restroom since I have many health issues and one of the people at the front desk pointed us kindly to the restroom while the other one said absolutely no public restroom and turned us away from any aid or help. Made it a very horrible experience in wanting to learn more and find aid resources needed as an LGBTQ+ person.

We visited the center while we were in town. The staff was wonderful and provided a very informed tour of the facility. The services they provide are amazing. While we visited there were several individuals participating proudly in current projects. It was heartwarning to see these kids feeling happy in a safe environment and creating their art.

Yelp
Basically I love gay city because they have free condoms for the masses and this is where i get my CSA from Pjnk Moon Farms- an amazing country queer farm stand that brings veggies to seattle.

Yelp
I went in to give my information about the organization I work for, the Office of the DD Ombuds, as a resource for the members of the LGBTQ community with disabilities. The young woman working there was very helpful in taking in my information, as well as helping me find a book that would help me be a better ally. Although small, it seems to me like it's a safe and comfortable place for the community, and being someone that grapples from a severe anxiety disorder, I feel that says a lot.

Yelp
Every time my bff tried to get an appt, they canceled on him. First, we drove an hour for his appt, barely made it, only to have them call at the last minute to say they forgot to call to reschedule. The second appt was rescheduled for a date my bff told them he absolutely could NOT make it. My friend had to get in their face, which is NOT in his character, to make them keep his appt. The doctors are good, but they need to get someone else to answer the phones & make appts.

Yelp
Coming from Santa Cruz and the Bay..it is always nice to see community organizations like this one... get safe sex information, free condoms and then get an espresso at the coffee shop.. WHERE ARE THESE IN SANTA CRUZ?? lol.

Yelp
Andi, and the gentleman in the front were so nice! And the gentleman working the library helped me out with some doggy treats. Thank you guys, you do great work.

Yelp
I like clarity, and brevity, so I'll say I agree with the previous posts; this is a great place for LGBT men to get tested! It's free, confidential, and professional. I was seen quickly, thoroughly, and didn't feel any discomfort. :) They will actually call you, too, after a time period of your choosing, reminding you to get tested. :)

Yelp
I had the pleasure of seeing a friend's performance in their intimate venue. The sound and lights were perfect for the show. Great location and an exceptional space for small community events.

Yelp

Yelp
Gay City is a great community resource. Not only do they provide lots of health services specifically oriented toward the LGBT community, but they host art exhibits, community action events and have a great library of gay literature and resources.

Yelp
More free condoms than you can shake a stick at. Come here for the free condoms and lube, but try not to listen to all the preachy safe-sex and stuff. You already know what to do - why listen to a dumbed down -neutered- version?

Ryan H.

Yelp
I'm biased. I'm a volunteer. Stop in and check out the collection or hit us up for resource information to make your life happier and healthier.
