Seaview Crab Company Midtown Wilmington Retail Seafood Market

I love seaview, being a customer for yearssss for their consistency, wide selection and friendly service. Primarily for blue crabs, but I also purchase other seafood at times. However the last few times I’ve been disappointed. The previous 2x they sold out of crabs b4 I got there. Mind you it’s 10-11am!! I drive from Cumberland county-and call prior to leaving to make sure they have what I want. The first time I was like awe shucks and told them geez I drove here bc you said you had some. Now I understand selling out so I could not really be upset. Then it happened again…I begged and pleaded prior to arriving to prepay so I wouldn’t make the long trip for nothing, but they do not allow that for ‘Jimmy’ crabs is what I was told. Again, can’t be upset, just my luck. This weekend when I arrived they again sold out, but I waited a few hours bc they said they would get another delivery. Once I seen the crabs, they were all very small but what really disappointing is they were selling Jimmys that were the same size as the mixed. They were very noticeably smaller than their normal Jimmys, and sitting right next to the mixed bushel were clearly the same size. However they were sold as ‘jimmys’. The bottoms were very white and crabs lightweight, I knew they weren’t meaty but after driving and waiting I brought them anyway. Half of them were empty and the shells were soft. These were the worst quality crabs I’ve ever purchased from Seaview! This is just a rant.. I’m pouting like a baby bc I LOVE my blue crabs!!! I dont mind driving or paying but I want my money’s worth!!

Best fried okra anywhere! Sometimes I come in and just order the okra to go. Today I ordered the okra platter $16.95 with fried oysters and coleslaw. So much okra I couldn’t even eat it all! Today it was over salted but I was in a hurry so I didn’t time for a redo. Their food truck is awesome too!

We were in town for a sports tournament and was looking for a good place to get seafood. We found this place based on Yelp reviews. When we walked in, we weren't sure what to expect. It is largely a seafood market. And the smell of fresh seafood was a bit overpowering ...so be ready! But at the same time, we had a feeling the food was going to be very good. After taking some time to browse the menu, we ordered a few different items, including one of the dishes on the specials board. The young man who took our order worked with us to ensure my son's food would be gluten free. We opted to wait in the car while we waited for our food. There are a couple of tables inside if you prefer that instead. There was a steady stream of people coming in, which was a good sign. It was a decent wait, but it was worth it! Everything we ordered was delicious and well seasoned. And the portion sizes were very generous. We had plenty to eat and leftovers to spare. I have already been telling others about this place. We will definitely plan to return the next time we are in the area.

I have had this place many times and not one complaint until today. I ordered from the kitchen and usually have a 10-15 min wait no problem. Well when it was passed 30 mins I started to wonder so I asked if they had my order. The guy checked and there it is sitting in the window dying. It wasnt under a heat lamp just sitting there long enough for the boxes to start collapsing on themselves. So I asked the guy about my dying food and he said he was sorry and proceeded to give me that cold food sitting in the window. This is by far unacceptable seeing how I ordered hot food. $40 worth of food and I'm having to reheat my lunch. They have lost a regular customer for awhile and will be lucky if they get the business back. If Google would allow a no star rating that's what I would have posted

I ordered the blackened flounder and it is so tiny. I am sitting in the shop right now and I am just shocked. I am typing this review as I am eating it and it is also insanely spicy (I promise I am not a wimp, I eat my boyfriend's spicy traditional Chinese food on the daily and even that is not this spicy). They could've at least disclosed that it's gonna be spicy but they didn't.

Very sad. Your employees are wonderful but the clientele is very rough. I was there about 1/2hour and I noticed 2 angry customers. One was at the cash register. The employee tried everything to defuse the situation. He was very patient, and polite but the customer was not a happy customer I will be back thou! The crabs were not very big but they were cooked to perfection, the service was fast and employees were polite. Prices are cheap, but fresh and local is a plus!

I love this place! I am from Maryland in the Chesapeake area and I was hoping to find steamed blue crabs. Their steamed blue crabs were awesome and they had a variety of seasonings, Old Bay, Florida Garlic,, and others. They steamed them and I ate them there. This was perfect, especially since I was staying at a hotel. Their customer service is great. They also have a lot of other seafood that you can enjoy as well.

Had a fresh flounder sandwich today and was so good!! Really beautiful abundant piece of fresh flounder overhanging the bun. Fries were delicious too. Enjoyed eating it outside on the picnic table on this warm fall day!
