Around-the-World Cruises: Everything Travelers Need to Know About These Epic Voyages

"Oceania’s 2025 Global Horizons sailing lasts a whopping 196 days onboard Insignia, roundtrip from Miami. The sailing includes several destinations in the Eastern Caribbean, and—extraordinary for a world voyage—a week of scenic cruising along the Amazon River. The voyage continues in South America before crossing the Atlantic to the remote islands of Tristan de Cunha, a British Overseas Territory, before making landfall again in Namibia, tracing the African coast through South Africa, Mozambique, and the French department of Mayotte (another rare stop for a cruise), island-hopping in the Indian Ocean before calling in India. The sailing covers a lot of ground in Asia—Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore, China, Japan, the Philippines, Brunei, and Indonesia—before cruising the west and south coasts of Australia, New Zealand, New Caledonia, Vanuatu, Fiji, French Polynesia, and Hawaii. Crossing the Pacific to San Diego the ship then hops down the coasts of Mexico and Central America through the Panama Canal before returning to Miami in mid-July."

SeaWorld was pretty awesome! It didn’t feel too crowded except getting out of the shows (expect that to take a good 10-15 min). We went with younger kids and they loved all the animals, the shows, and the experience. We paid for a yearly pass (I believe the platinum pass) which allowed two guests free. So it came out cheaper than 3 day passes. It was fun for us adults too. The food needs improvement for sure especially since they don’t allow any outside food or drink. My kiddos didn’t wanna eat much there (even though we bought them chicken tenders and fries). Otherwise it was a great experience. Parking wasn’t bad either.

We went to see penguins, and it was worth it. We highly recommend watching their show if you have plenty of time as it was very entertaining. There is no Orca show scheduled when we're there, but we get a chance to see the Dolphins Adventure show, and we're glad we did.

SeaWorld was a full day of fun for the whole family, especially our 4-year-old who was wide-eyed the entire time. There’s a great mix of shows, animal encounters, and kid-friendly rides—definitely more than just an aquarium. The orca and dolphin shows were impressive, and the touch pools were a huge hit with our little one. Staff were helpful and patient, especially in the kids’ areas, and the park felt clean and well-organized. There’s a good variety of food, though a bit pricey, as expected in theme parks. Overall, it was a memorable experience and worth the visit if you're in San Diego with young kids.

Google
SeaWorld San Diego is a nice day activity if you’re visiting or just doing a staycation and looking for something fun to do. The park has a lot to see and experience, and it’s easy to spend the whole day there without getting bored. I really liked the orca and sea lion shows. They were super fun to watch and it’s amazing to see how the trainers and animals work together. You can tell they put a lot of effort into the shows and it really makes it memorable. If you are planning to stay the whole day and eat at the park, I definitely recommend getting the ticket that comes with all-day dining. It’s unlimited and honestly a much better deal than buying food one meal at a time. You can grab food every ninety minutes if you want to, and there are a lot of options to choose from like burgers, BBQ, Mexican food, and even some healthier choices. It was nice not having to worry about prices and just grabbing something whenever we felt hungry. Besides the shows and the food, there are also rides and different exhibits you can check out. It is a good mix so it does not feel repetitive.

I hadn’t been here since 98’ & decided it would be fitting to bring my kids here for their first time. Least to say I got emotionally overwhelmed as all my childhood memories flooded back in & the biggest blessing was now seeing my kids with their smiles. It’s changed so much!! It looks amazing! My kids were not disappointed at all. Thank you for giving them an experience they can remember!

Google
My family and I always enjoy visiting seaworld every year. But our recent visit changed that. The bathrooms are so filthy with not paper in almost all the stalls. The shows were not as great or enjoyable. Specifically the sea lion show. It was more of the humans performing. I can go to a circus for that. I enjoy sea life. But, I would rather spend & save money to go to the zoo than come to sea world.

Google
My family had a great visit to Sea World San Diego. I loved the jellyfish aquarium/exhibit. My little nieces loved the flamingos and penguins. All of us enjoyed the orca and dolphin shows. My youngest niece and sister (her mom) rode the Manta coaster, confirming for the little 9-year-old that she loves roller coasters. Her mom, not so much. The all-day-dining pass was a good buy. Just a good day overall.

Google
Wonderful day of fun. Reasonably accessible to the scooter for my husband, fun activities and shows. Great food and we especially love learning so enjoyed the information aspects as well.

Yelp
After watching Blackfish, I told myself I would never visit any SeaWorld, even though it was an unfulfilled childhood dream of mine. Any other '90s kids grow up watching The Adventures of Mary-Kate & Ashley: The Case of the SeaWorld Adventure? Had the VHS and replayed it often, LOL. My boyfriend, on the other hand, grew up going with an annual pass, so when we visited San Diego, he was determined to take me. I had a real internal conflict about it, but I have to admit I was in awe throughout the day. I was relieved to see the efforts SeaWorld has made toward sustainability and rescue, and I was genuinely touched by the relationships the staff have with the sea animals. The park offers incredible marine life exhibits, thrilling rides, and breathtaking shows that bring guests up close with dolphins, sea lions, and orcas. The shows are really the life blood of this place, it's something that can't be captured unless you've witnessed it. The soak zone and wet zones are epic! It really brings families together and honestly the whole audience together - which felt so nice at such a tense time in the world. That said, seeing the enclosures up close still reinforced my concerns. The collapsed dorsal fins on the orcas (a well-documented sign of distress in captivity) left me feeling guilty even as I admired their performance. I don't know the right answers, but I do know we need to keep having these conversations and investing in sanctuaries. The park itself feels a bit like traveling back in time, my bf mentioned not a whole lot has changed, but he enjoyed the nostalgia. I felt '90s vibes and kinda loved it. We went on a Tuesday in February - but shocked there was little to no vendors open. We actually left the park to go eat. Thankfully you can come and go easily with a stamp. It felt safe and not overly crowded which was nice. As for the rides? They were much more exciting than I expected! We especially loved the new Arctic sled ride. And honestly, I was relieved that the Electric Eel was down for maintenance as it looked terrifying! Even though you can have bags there are some rides you need to leave them with someone on the ground, so keep that in mind. SeaWorld is a place where wonder and ethical reflection go hand in hand, making for a complex but memorable experience.

Yelp
I've been coming to Sea world at least once a year since I was a kid. It holds a special place because the theme park I knew in the 90's is definitely not what it has become today. Now we have bag checks and adventurous rides and trainers no longer get in the water. It's has now transformed into a more educational kinda vibe versus let's put a on show for you and I appreciate that. The kids love it, the food isn't the best, they have the generic hamburgers, fish and chips, bbq etc. We usually end up packing lunches because it's cost efficient and I know my kids will eat what I make them versus wandering aimlessly. It says online you still need to make a reservation before you go but it's so spacious that I never feel like I'm drowning with the amount of people that can occupy a theme park. Therefore I feel like you can always buy same day tickets with no issue as you could find at Disneyland. I still think it's a great place for the kids to enjoy, at least to let out all the wiggles. We came during my daughter's birthday last year and we were able to do everything we wanted, even sitting front row for the Orca show which is her favorite. You can't really have a bad day here unless you are coming in peak summer and want to just ride attractions, so lines will be long. Grateful they have stuck around for as long as they have. Lots of memories made here.
google avatar

Elle F.

Yelp
Sea World needs to be considered as an aquarium, not the Sea World we grew up with in the 1990's. For safety of the trainers, they do NOT get in the water the way they used to. Fine with me, I am much happier seeing everyone safe and sound. Parking is expensive. It starts at $25. They check bags so PLEASE just leave all the extra unnecessary stuff in the car. There is not a lot of shade so bringing a hat and/or umbrella is a GREAT idea! Waters are about $6 each so definitely bring your own. There are LOTS of souvenir shops throughout the park. There is also quite a few places to eat so skip the temptation to eat at the places immediately inside the gates and there are better options further along. There is saltwater everywhere so I recommend NOT wearing your favorite shoes or anything.

Yelp
This one is a must visit. Probably one of the best aquatic life experience/aquarium in the world. Dolphins are amazing and penguin pavilion is a must to visit as well. Splash zone is fun during the hot days. Not sure if they still have Orca (killer whale) show.
google avatar

Daniel A.

Yelp
I'm riding on a dolphin, eating fish and chips The dolphin's splashing, getting everybody all wet But this is Sea World, this is real as it gets... Nothing beats the look on a kids face when they see beautiful animals. The Kids really enjoyed the shows no splash zone for us. I recommend downloading the SeaWorld App so you can find the showtimes, attractions even bathrooms. Animals: some of them just looked sad. Some of the penguins were just staring at the wall. The walrus kept swimming in the same circle. I've never seen an orca's tail flukes folded inward. Bathrooms: changing tables were basically harder to find than a lion at Sea World. The one family restroom just had a counter top. Parking: general parking $34 or you can pay for preferred $68 (I believe). Nothing wrong with a little walk it wasn't too bad for a weekend Tips: buy online, check for dates and pricing as it fluctuates. If you're doing a multi-day trip they have two day tickets. We brought snacks in for the kids, a stroller so we had our hands free. The little playground is nice to take a break and let the kids run around. Overall a good time with the wife and kids. God bless

Yelp
SeaWorld is celebrating 60 tears! We had a fun time at SeaWorld during the daytime while the sun was shining. There are some new and revamped shows that are really enjoyable - like the sea lion and otters show and orcas. At night there's a Christmas light show and festive atmosphere and decorations throughout but we were too cold to stay after the sun went down. lol

Yelp
Great selection of sea creatures to visit, lines to rides about 10-30min wait, food was not freshly made, nickels and dimes you via locker rentals The bad: We ordered the pumpkin spice beignets and they were ok but took a long time since there were several families in front of us, and just one guy working. The beignets were not as expected, as they were already fried and frozen, and just reheat it back up for you. We also watched them pull out premade crepes for other guests and they also just heat them back up. Some of the other food stands were practically empty, and several menu items were not available. We weren't told about the no backpack thing until we were already standing at the head of the line at Manta. They said we had to go put them in the lockers (and of course pay $3 an hour for it). I wish they had free storage places at the ride or in front of your seat like all of the other amusement parks. After the ride, I just put my stuff back in my car. At least it's not too far away The good: The lines for the rides were not terribly long, up to 30 min wait. There are a good number of sea creatures to see. The dolphin show was also very good. Definitely good to come visit at least once in your life, but I don't think I will need to come back for the next several years.

Yelp
The park and shows are amazing But.... Food places such as the chicken shack are horrible because of the customer service. Over 45 min waiting on chicken strips. Today is Dec 26th day after Christmas which is known to be busy but everyone in line is wondering why there is only one cashier. We are still in line and it's been over 45 min and counting. People in line behind us are complaining as well. Sea world: if you are reading this please staff appropriately. This doesn't make the park enjoyable. I could understand when kids are back in school but this is holidays and all kids are out of school.

Yelp
Seaworld is a fun place for the family! I have been wanting to bring my little grandson here for a while now. Seaworld had some great Black Friday deals so I bought tickets! I also bought a pass which is definitely worth the price I paid. It was less expensive than other amusement parks and not as crowded. There are several benefits to being a pass holder. I have the platinum pass which includes parking. The parking that is included with the pass is very close to the entrance. We arrived about an hour after it opened and there was plenty of parking. We started our adventure by taking a walk around the park to see which exhibits my grandson would like the most. We stopped to see the flamingos. They were a show stopper. So beautiful and fascinating to see. The dolphins are always entertaining. So playful and fun to watch. My orcas were relaxing and soothing to watch. The penguins are always cute to watch. We fed the sea lions which was a fun experience. They love it when you feed them. The turtles were my favorite. They swim so gracefully. Shark encounters was also fascinating. The cleaning fish were fascinating. They really do remove the dead skin. I can't describe it but it feels weird. I loved it! Give it a try! There is a lot to learn and see at SeaWorld. We learned a alot and continue to appreciate every animal. We didn't eat there because we had a big breakfast before going but there was a variety of all over the park. We all had fun and will be back for more!

Yelp
We went during the weekday as our free rooms at Harrah's we got the upgraded Ohio suite. If we would have stayed on Saturday/Sunday we would have gotton a regular room. During the weekday, the park is not busy and we were able to wait in line no more than 15 minutes which was nice. They do have three shows: Orca, Dolphin and Sea Lion. We ended up watching all three of them. At this time the three rides were closed, Electric Eel, Journey to Atlantis and Skyride. The Electric Eel was opened for one day and then went through refurbishment. Even though the park was dead, they did run 2 trains at Mantis, 1 train at Emperor and the Snow Mobile Ride. There were no mascots out too except for Santa Claus. Food wise was okay. This time we did not do all you can eat and one meal was good for the day and then we ate outside. But we always have a great time coming here however.

Yelp
Loved riding the Emperor ride for thrills. I also tried the Artic Zone ride but I think it should be considered for kids because no dips and just a fun and fast ride. I also like the Manta ride. The shows are great. I really like the pirate show and dolphin show, but all are entertaining. There are some awesome displays and quite a few interactive events. It is a very wonderful experience for the whole family. I really like the Calypso Cafe (tri tip) and Shipwreck Cafe (salmon, if it is not dry). I also heard they have a great burger. I also enjoyed the Hibisco Mexican (modern) restaurant. Parking is plentiful and there are a lot of handicapped spaces near the entrance. Staff is very helpful to serve your needs.

Yelp
Date of event: October 20, 2024 When I turned 50 last month, I was wondering how I would celebrate this milestone in my life. Then SeaWorld announced its inaugural Howl-O-Sprint 5K and Kids 1K Fun Run... and seeing how the last in=person 5K I did was the San Diego County Fair 5K (pre-COVID), thought this would be a fun way to kick it off. The course took us from the entrance to the park, through the parking lot, past the Orca Encounter (where we got to see the orcas perform... and if I hadn't stopped to take pics, my time would've been a bit shorter), the outdoor exhibits, and eventually back to the entrance for the finish. There's two water and lemonade stations at the 1-mile and 2-mile markers, and we were cheered on by cosplayers (hi, Chun P.!), cheerleaders, and volunteers. At the Fun Zone post-race were photo ops with Sesame Street characters, a Raising Cane's giveaway (I got a keychain), and a couple of refreshment booths with oranges, water, BodyArmor beverages, and hard candy for the kids. Admittedly, I wish there were more snacks available to refuel on - I ended up having brunch at Kusina afterwards to celebrate - but this was a fun 5K, and I can see myself doing this again. Oh yeah, free race photos are sent to your email after the race! Especially as you can also do this in costume... in my case, I was dressed as Charlie Brown and had a little Snoopy plush attached to my crossbody bag (no bag check here, FYI).

Yelp
Recommend the VIP tour to traveller! You can have a full-experience with educational activities and the best seats at the show. Also, unlimited fast pass all rides. Looking these beautiful creatures helps me to calm and want to protect the natural! Most of the animals are rescued or born at the parks. Fun and educational!
google avatar

Yelp
If you have been to Sea World Orlando, you have a good idea of this place. They have a few good roller coasters and the shows are good. But the water areas seem eeirly cramped, dark and not really clean. I felt for the sea life. The park itself needs a face-lift and a good paint job. The food plan may be worth it if you are a young family, other than that, don't bother. Limited menu options, times and restrictions make it silly to purchase for folks who want variety. The fast past in the other had is definitely worth it. Aso, for 20..00 more a ticket, you can purchase a season pass. That's what we did, so we will see you soon if you plan on visiting.

Yelp
It went well! This is my 2nd time visit. And would'nt you know? Its a good experience! I went to the centipede ride. OMG! I did not open my eyes. My note: better keep your stuff on your car, or if you have a backpack better put in the locker, you have to pay though, ($3 for an hour, $9 for four) The food is kinda pricey, so better check that one out online, maybe get the year-long pass and you might get your money's worth. With lots of things to do and rides too. The shows are great too, it all posted everywhere. Or better yet download their app if you are a first timer.
google avatar

Gamini G.

Yelp
I had a fantastic day at SeaWorld in San Diego. The park is manageable to explore in about 6 to 7 hours, though the lines do get long on weekends - try to go on weekdays! The Manta and Arctic Rescue rides were a thrill, and Atlantis and Shipwreck Rapids were a lot of fun. Just be ready to get soaked! Food and drinks are pricey, as you'd expect at an amusement park. The penguin feeding show was a highlight, and the pirate show is a must-see, with actors using jetpacks and jet skis! The staff were friendly and helpful, making the whole experience even better. Definitely worth a visit if you're in San Diego!
google avatar

Brianne H.

Yelp
Buyer beware of the "upgrade to an annual pass with no blackout dates for only $20" offer posted prominently throughout the park. This is not what is actually offered. What you will receive instead is a "fun card" with no annual pass benefits and clearly stated "blackout dates apply". There was no mention of blackout dates when I made my purchase. Don't make this mistake like I did. I'm so disappointed that SeaWorld would advertise this offer and then not deliver on it.

Yelp
I'm not a fan of amusement parks to begin with, and SeaWorld San Diego just solidified that. My fam asked me to come last minute since they have membership. I don't see them often, so I was game. It's been a while since my last visit here, and upon driving up to the parking lot attendants, I noticed the parking prices. Strike 1: How are you forced to pay parking if you buy a membership?! And apparently, prices have gone up (no surprise there). Strike 2: it's a Friday during summer, and pretty much half the food places or stands are closed. WTF?! The only choices are pretty much places that have a horrendous line or the grab-and-go options, which will still cost you at least $10 for one thing. And mind you, the food options are mediocre at best. Strike 3: We finally decided to order nachos from a stand that had no line, and then we found out why. I wanted the carne asada nachos, but guess what? "We don't have any carne asada." Okayyyy... can I get the chicken nachos and the corn? "We ran out of the corn." Whatever. So I pay $15+ tax for the small ass chicken nachos that I'm not even sure was real chicken. My cousin asked for salsa, and of course, "we don't have tomatoes." Her brother asked for hot sauce, and they told him they didn't have any, but if he walked around the corner to the other taqueria stand, they "might have" some Tabasco. I then walked over to the beer stand that had a menu that included various margarita flavors and pineapple and mango micheladas. Surprise!!! Strike 4: I order a mango michelada. "Sorry, we ran out. I don't have any micheladas right now." This is the part where I should have just left, but instead, I tried to order a margarita... I'm browsing the menu and tell her I want the sweet & sour. Her reply: "I only have the strawberry margarita right now," which wasn't even on the menu. So I paid $17 for it and walked tf away. Strike 5: How do you sell boba drinks and NOT have boba straws?! They do, however, have the skinny ass paper straws, which will make it difficult to drink because the boba will get stuck to the bottom of the straw. They do have spoons which are difficult to use because they're as tall as the cup, so when you put it in the cup, you have to sip some of the milk tea first to even grab hold of it. Those will cost you $9+ tax. The mango lemonade was good, but not worth $9 good. I can honestly say this was a disgrace of a visit. Granted, we arrived around 2 p.m., but to run out of mostly everything and have half of the restaurants closed before the park closes at 10 pm?! GTFOH!! All of the employees seemed to be miserable, and they all looked like it, too. I never saw one smiling or happy to be there (except for the ones working the dolphin and orca shows). If you don't mind getting ripped off and being continually disappointed, this is the place for you! Get it together, SeaWorld San Diego, or do us all a favor and just shut TF down!!

Yelp
When I went to write a review, I noticed 3.5 stars average. I thought, wow, a aot of people were as disappointed as I was. Having been here many times, and the last time was 29 years ago, I was kind of let down. We got in for $60 each plus $32 prepaid parking. There are plenty of hanficap spaces, but I still thought $32 was a little steep. We managed to catch the orcas, dolphins, and sea lion shows. Checked out the shark pool exhibits and the manta rays pool. Walked through the inside aquariums. The shows are 20 minutes long. If you decide to eat there it's quite I mixed bag. Canned and bottle drinks are not cold at all. For the food you want, the lines are miles long. We ended up eating a roasted turkey leg for convenience. We wanted to ride the sky tower up. It goes up to 300 feet. The ride is not included in the entry ticket. It costs $6 per person. We didn't go on the roller coasters, but I would imagine there is a ride fee for them as well. I wanted to give them 3.5 being some what underwhelmed I rounded down.
google avatar

Brad W.

Yelp
The roller coasters are way better than ths shows. Dolphin and whale shows were boring, but Electric Eel and Emperor are top notch coasters. The Mardi Gras celebration was missing the parade and the food was below average. Low crowds on a January weekend.
google avatar

Cheryl G.

Yelp
I didn't actually go for the traditional SeaWorld experience, but for the seasonal Halloween event. My fiancé and I had a blast! They did a great job with their five haunted houses. Plus I rode two of the three roller coasters, it had been a long time since I was on a roller coaster. They were really good and nice and smooth. I skipped the electric eel roller coaster because the operator told me that it was quite jerky and I was afraid that would bother my neck or back. I did find the food options to be just OK. I mean, it is amusement park food. They have to pump out a lot of it with limited kitchen space available.

Yelp
I recently attended SeaWorld's Howl-O-Scream and a Yelp Elite event hosted by Hannah, and as always, she did a phenomenal job coordinating yet another fantastic experience! There were over 300 attendees, but there were still plenty of delicious appetizers to go around. I sampled sliders, chicken tenders with Cheetos sauce, and brisket with chips--all tasty options that I believe are also available on the regular SeaWorld menu. However, the mac and cheese was a bit of a miss this time around. Complementary champagne was a nice touch, and I really enjoyed the Spooky Season cocktail made by the crew. It was the perfect way to kick off the evening. Parking: With a confirmed ticket from the Yelp Event, I was able to get free parking, and it wasn't difficult to find a spot. This made getting to the event hassle-free, which is always appreciated. The Event Experience: I was pleasantly surprised that the event wasn't too packed. I had the opportunity to explore five haunted houses, which were more exciting than scary, making it a fun experience for everyone. I even rode a roller coaster for the first time in 15 years--an adrenaline rush I didn't know I was missing! Drinks: There are three speakeasies scattered throughout Howl-O-Scream, but they weren't very well hidden. Sadly, the service at each one was slow and the lines were overly crowded. Most of the drinks were a bit too sweet for my taste, so I'd suggest skipping these if you're not a fan of sugary beverages. Overall, Howl-O-Scream was a great night out, and I'm looking forward to future events hosted by Hannah. If you're thinking about going, it's worth checking out for the unique attractions and fun atmosphere, but maybe stick to the regular cokes or beer for drinks!

Yelp
I love Sea World!!! It is a whole vibe here! The staff are so nice and very knowledgeable about the sea animals. My teens and grown baby sister enjoyed themselves & we would definitely come back. Roller coasters, dolphins, penguins, cleaner fish, reindeers and beautiful lights galore light up the place around the holiday what's not to love. We would definitely recommend bringing the family and making a whole day of it. If you live in California just buy annual passes & save big.

Jeannette C.

Yelp
If I could give this place zero stars I would. Tickets are $75 per person, plus parking (cheapest $35) plus mediocre food. For a day here with one meal it's about 3-$500 - not worth it. Save your money. Go to the zoo or Lego land.
google avatar

Shantel M.

Yelp
Parking was easy. We got there early so we entered and waited until 10am to start our day. Because we went on a Monday and it was not busy at all, I loved it. A lot of things took a while to open but I had an agenda and we knocked off everything on our list.
google avatar

Brandi P.

Yelp
Stopped by for the pass member holiday preview tonight. It was pretty crowded but nice. It is beautiful during the holidays. Such pretty lights and plenty of photo ops. There are also plenty of holiday food and beverages to try. Best deal is to grab one of the tasting cards. For $75 you get 10 tastings from around the holidays booths (food and smaller drinks even alcohol options are included). If you have a pass you get two bonus tastes. The mashed potato flatbread and crepes were a few of our favorites this evening. Can't wait to go back to try more

Yelp
Poor management, under-staffed attractions (long lines even in the morning and rides are not always packed even there are long lines. Lot of rides leave the platform with empty seats). They also don't accept cash which really made my day quite complicated. $32 for parking a motorcycle? seriously? 0 stars. You need to pay additional for a lot of things, such as lockers (they won't let you on a ride with a tiny backpack and ask you to use their lockers) and some activities/games/rides. Tired of tourist traps like this one.

We mainly came here to enjoy the experience with our 2 year old grandson as we came here over 25 years ago when our kids were young and now our children and spouses are with us to experience this place again! We arrived early when park opened to secure a good parking spot and avoid the crowds and parking is expensive. We headed straight over to the Dolphins show to get a good view afterwards observed some exhibits and also saw the Orca show. We also spent time visiting the sharks in the tanks sea turtles as well as feeding the sea lions. Feeding the sea lion was hit and miss as birds are vying for the fish. It costs $10 for 4 small pieces of fish and our grandson was able to feed 1 of 4 to a sea lion as those hungry birds swooped down to grab the 3 other fish! we also tried to get drinks at a concession that had Starbucks coffee and were only able to get iced coffee as they ran out of refreshers and frappuccino

Yelp
Do not recommended wasting the astronomical price to come here. There are so many better places see. Exhibits are not being cared for bathrooms are dirty and not being taken care of, food carts not kept up. The employees are all extremely young, rude and obviously dont care about their jobs there. I went to three carts looking for a popcorn bucket for my daughter. They simply said "we didnt stock that today check another one". Ticket is over 100 parking is 33 dollars for general and there wasn't enough can toilet paper I. A few of the bathrooms. Save your money and avoid this park. I grew up here and worked at sea world for many years, it's not going downhill it's at the bottom.

Yelp
I've gone to the Sea World in Florida several times, but I finally had my first visit at Sea World San Diego in early April with my husband. We ended up going to Sea World San Diego on a Friday, so we can view the theme park and also experience the Seven Seas Food Festival. We got there early, around 9:30. It was slightly rainy that day, so the line wasn't that long. The park opened around 9:50. We ended up going to guest relations first to purchase a Seven Seas Food Festival card. There were issues with the kiosks and purchasing the Seven Seas Food Festival card. It took us approximately 30 minutes to get one at guest relations. We ended up going to several different kiosks and being assisted by a lot of team members to try and figure out what was wrong with the food festival card. Afterward, we decided to visit some of the exhibits since the Seven Seas Food Festival booths weren't open until later in the day. Sea World has a lot to experience, but you'll only need one day to view all of the exhibits. Some of the educational presentation and exciting activities you may get to experience include the Beluga Whales, Sharks, Harbor Seals, Orcas, Bat Ray, Curl-Crested Arcaris, Macaws, Pilot Whales, Moray Eels, Turtle Reef, Flamingos, and so much more! If you go to Sea World's website, you can purchase additional add-ons for Tours and Interactions. Some of those include the Ultimate Penguin Experience, Dolphin Up-Close Encounter, and a lot more! Prices vary depending on the day. Make sure to download the Sea World application. If you want an easy way to view show times, the Sea World application will be populated with the different shows available, such as the Orca Encounter, Dolphin Adventures, and the Sea Lion and Otter Spotlight! If you like Thrill Rides, Sea World has a lot of them! This is one of the go-to places for roller coasters. Arctic Rescue (40 miles per hour and 48' min. height) Emperor (52' min height) Manta (48' min height) Electric Eel (54' min height) Journey to Atlantis (42' min height) and so much more! We didn't ride any rides. I would have perhaps rode on the SkyTower and the Bayside Skyride. However, those were additional costs that were not included in the Sea World ticket. We never had much luck at Sea World with their food options. The food was undercooked, missing ingredients, cold, or bland. The exhibits were great and educational! I'm not sure if I'll go back again, though.

Yelp
I haven't been to Sea World in over 30 years and it's changed quite a bit... roller coasters, but still keeps all the charm of its past. We purchased the City Pass where we got tickets for Sea World and three additional attractions. We got a sale on Groupon and it was a good deal. We arrived a bit before the park opened and if you want to ride the roller coasters that's a great time to beat the crowds. My wife and kids rode the Emperor coaster twice in about 10 mins and waited 20 for Electric Eel. Our kids went and rode Manta while my wife and I went and got food for lunch. Mobile ordering is a great option. To me Sea World is about the marine animals and there was an amazing variety of them here. Ranging from different birds, to sharks, turtles, otters, worsts, dolphins, walruses... It's amazing to be able to be that close to these animals. The animal shows were a highlight for me. We had some grandparents with us so we left around 4p, but we saw most of the park. It would have been fun to stay to see the sunset and evening fireworks. But a great time overall.

Yelp
We brought our relatives from Sonora, MX. We all had a great time, all five of us, especially the nine year old girl. SHE ENJOYED THE ORCA SHOW THE BEST. We began by going on the SkyTower, and then the Dolphin Adventure. After that, it was off to the ORCA SHOW and DINE WITH ORCAS. We fed Rays and SeaLions, and the SkyRide RT. Finally, we saw the SeaLion Show. In the end, the nine year old girl tried her hand at one game and won a large pink toy.

Yelp
This was my first visit to Seaworld San Diego. We had a family outing celebrating a birthday and we decided on a day out at Seaworld. We got the one day pass and the dine all-day pass. Parking was easy enough, we arrived at around 11 am, 1 hour after they opened and while there was a good crowd of people already in the park, we didn't feel like it was too overcrowded. We were still able to find parking, push our strollers around without having to bump into other parties/crowds in the park. I love that they were very thorough in placing the restrooms throughout the park. We have 2 little ones and it's so nice to be able to find restrooms and bonus since they also have diaper tables at all the restrooms we visited that day. Entering the park was super easy, we had a stroller with us and after scanning our tickets, we were in, there was no bag checks, they didn't ask me to take out anything from the stroller or the diaper bag. We were immediately welcomed by the cleaner fish that eats the dead skin cells off of your hand. It was amazing to see and feels a little weird for me. The kids loved it though! There was also a separate pool where you can pet a shark too. We didn't waste any time and started on our lunch. We had the chicken tenders with fries and cheesecake. The pass also allowed us for 1 fountain drink as well. There are no straws available in the park, fyi. The food was salty so the cheesecake was a good balance for the palate. They also have ketchup and pre-packed BBQ sauce that helped with the saltiness. After lunch, we went to walk around the shark exhibit, which was really cool, I wished that the tunnel was a bit longer! Then we went to see the dolphin show and the shamu show. Then before we knew it, was pre-dinner time. We headed on toward the BBQ place at the park and got ourselves baby back ribs, with fries, a piece of yellow toast, and beans. For dessert we got s'mores. Again, the food were really salty, even with the BBQ sauce available, it was shocking to the palate. The saving grace was the beans! It was somehow the most edible thing on the plate. The yellow toast was very bland and had no taste whatsoever. After pre-diner, we went to walk around to the crab and octopus short exhibition. Our toddler also wanted to ride on the swing ride. So we waited in line for about 40 minutes. He finally went on there and had so much fun. Unfortunately it was the only ride that he got to experience that day since we had to call it a day after that. Overall, Seaworld was a neat experience, but it was okay, I think with 2 little ones, I was really there for the ambiance, the food was way over-salted, and the ride that we went on had a really long wait time. There were also plenty of souvenir shops too.

Yelp
A fun little half day trip with family or friends! They have animals, shows, and even some aquatic themed rides. You can even buy food to feed the rays! Don't let the seagulls snatch the food away! I always assumed they only had kiddie rides, but some of their coasters are actually pretty fun. Their shows are super enjoyable as well. Would definitely recommend wearing a hat and putting on sunscreen though since there is no shade when you're sitting for the shows. Be aware if you're sitting in the splash zone, you WILL get splashed! I'm not a huge fan of paying theme park prices for food and drinks, so I can't really speak to how these taste. I also recently got the chance to attend their Howl-O-Scream as a Yelp Elite. Honestly my expectations were super low since it's Seaworld, but I was actually pleasantly surprised. Some of the haunted houses were better than others but there were a few moments where I did get a little jump scared. Having speakeasies located in some of the haunted houses was a super cool concept, but we were a little disappointed by the one we stopped by. It was just a tiny room which was barely decorated. I feel like they could put more effort into the ambiance of the speakeasy...we decided not to check any more of them out after that. Overall, a fun experience with family or friends!

Yelp
Sea World is still a great Family amusement park. Had not been to the park since 2018. They have really stepped it up with their rides since then. I think they have added 3 new ones since my last visit and some really fun ones. I know amusement parks are expensive, but it is one thing that does bother me when going to pretty much any of them, the costs are just too much. Sea World is not different, they now charge for the gondolas as well as the sky tower. Parking was $37 and lunch was almost $100. With that said, they do have Happy Hour Friday's where you can get beer for $2 after 4, at least when we went, so that's a deal. With that said, ignore the prices as you expect to overpay at amusement parks, we did have a great time. Saw the Orca Show, rode 5 of their new and existing rides, of course walked through the park and saw all the animals, various little shows and touched some stingrays. All and all a great day. Very fun and great memories. My favorite ride was Emperor, suppose to be the longest dive coaster in California. It has a drop that is beyond straight down, you drop straight down and invert, crazy fun. We rode, Manta, (and wish I could have posted the entire video on the ride) Electric Eel, Journey to Atlantis, Emperor and Arctic Rescue, (Arctic Rescue took forever, broke down a couple times and someone threw up which delayed it while they cleaned up) but was really fun in the end. I took a video of that ride as well, so fun. Enjoy!

Yelp
It has been well over 30 years since I last visited Sea World. I came here with my MeetUp Fun Diego Ladies group and we had such a fun time! The weather was perfect and it was not crowded, so we got to visit all of the main attractions on our list. We were there from 10am to 5:30pm, so we got our money's worth. If you have AAA, they offer a great one day pass. For $70, you get a ticket, free entree from any restaurant, and a $10 voucher good at any gift shop. Note: Online it says parking is $25, but it's actually $32!! My 2 favorite attractions were the sea lions and dolphins. I was so amazed at how incredibly intelligent they were! My favorite ride was the Shipwreck Rapids.

Yelp
First time ever visiting Sea World with a group of friends. We are very spoiled as we are Disneyland Magic Key holders. It's hard to not compare a theme park to that of Disneyland. This park was a disappointment. It has so much potential to be great but it fell short! The food is extremely expensive and more than what food costs at Disneyland. The employees don't seem to care about their job and the park was not that clean. There is no organization to the park and lines are crazy. The food situation is even worse due to poor quality. Their mobile order service is a joke and that app of there's??? It's pretty mediocre. I don't like the fact that they don't have paper maps only the app. Outside of all the negative, we did enjoy every show that we watched. We were able to watch every single one and they were all enjoyable. Would I go back? Maybe not, but it was nice to at least check the park out.

Yelp
Tried out SeaWorld's Halloween Howl-O-Scream event this year to shake things up, but unfortunately, it was a letdown. First off, I bought line skip passes online, thinking that the extraordinary price included the basic event admission, but it wasn't made clear to me that it was just for line skipping. So when we showed up, we were surprised by this fact and we had to spend extra time waiting in lines to buy tickets onsite. To make matters worse, the staff kept sending us to different lines because no one seemed to know what to do in our situation, which made the whole experience feel like we were at the DMV. Not a great start and took out about an hour of our time. Once we finally got in, we were shocked to find that none of the animal exhibits were open, which was an immense disappointment. We were also surprised by how small the event was, only three rides and five haunted houses. Navigating the area was a challenge because they didn't put up enough signage for Howl-O-Scream, and the daytime maps are pretty unhelpful. The worst part, is that the site says the whole event goes from 7-12am, but we again were surprised by the fact that they actually close at 11PM! Totally incorrect info. The one highlight was the vampire rock and roll show, which featured some incredibly talented performers. Overall, it was very disappointing, and we recommend saving your $ and celebrating Halloween elsewhere.

Yelp
I was so excited to see the dolphin, orca, and sea lion shows. I got lucky having such a beautiful weather on Thur at SeaWorld. First, it was so confused SeaWorld map for the show locations. I asked many times where the orca show, dolphin show locations are, even show time. No idea for the show time!!!! The staff was friendly to point the location whenever I asked them. However, my hubby downloaded the map but still so confused. I think the directions for each show were not visible, made us get lost the directions. Finally one of woman staff showed us the show time on the paper and I took a picture. Thanks for the great service. I purchased all day dining w one day ticket for AAA deal. I paid $32 general parking. We had 2 dolphin shows, 2 orca shows, and one sea lion show total from 10:30 to 4:30. In a mean time, we had early lunch, late lunch, and dinner w all day dining tickets. My hubby and I loved the 2nd Dolphin show way better than the 1st show. 2 Orca shows were exactly same. The sea lion show was so much fun. We had a great time thanks to the shows. Let's talk about the foods, Chicken Shack, not too bad but I wished little more flavors for the chicken sandwich. Taco place, Oh! No! Disgusting!! I never had flat shaped tacos w greasy tortilla. BBQ place, I got tri tip, my hubby got the chicken nuggets. I give 3 stars for the nuggets but only 2 stars for my Tri tip. The last one, cheese burger and orange chicken bowl, I give 4 stars. The cheese burger was flavorful and my orange chicken was yummy, crispy outside soft inside. For the drinks, my hubby got 2 draft beers, he liked all but one Modelo Can beer costs $15. Unbelievable!!! We found only one Starbuck's at the entrance. Not easy to fine coffee shop. We both agreed about the quality of foods. We give 3 stars for 4 places we tried w all day dining tickets. They need to upgrade the quality, flavors, for the entrées over $15 Value and they didn't have iced tea. I couldn't find the iced tea anywhere. The critical thing was the directions. We got lost so many times. The guest service told us to download the map but it didn't show the clear directions and no where for the show time. At least the sign should be clear for the show time in front of all the different shows. Overall, we had a great, fun time to see the shows, having 3 rides, which are wet shipwreck rafter, easy flying, and dizzy teacup. I didn't have time to take a look at penguin, beluga, and shark. My hubby and I want to come again soon in the future.

Yelp
Janet from Safety, you're horrible! You shouldn't be working in Safety or around people if you have no compassion. My daughter fell and slipped on a wet tile that had NO tape or cone, no warning! She got hurt and got wet from the GLUE! GLUE ALL OVER HER SKIN! Janet never once apologized, she never asked if my daughter was ok. She made it seem like I am trying to take advantage of Sea World, I don't need any money, but now I am going to seek legal advice. This is not right. How did this go past inspection?? Janet needs to be fired. Other than that, the restrooms are super dirty by the end of the night. The food is good, dining pass is worth it. No other bad encounters. The other cast members who helped me, those in customer service and in medical were very very helpful, so Sea World, I suggest you get rid of Janet so she doesn't bring down your reputation.

Yelp
I had friends visiting from out of town and they wanted to visit SeaWorld. Below are some of my experiences from yesterday. Pros: -some of the staff at the carnival games were really fun and welcoming. We interacted with a staff member named Ryan and she was great to engage with. -the dolphin show was entertaining. We were in the soak zone and absolutely got soaked. Cons: -we did the sea otter encounter. There was a Black Friday sale, so it was about $35 per person. You only get to give the sea otter one small slice of food (I gave a little clam) through a plexiglass hole. It was hard to get their attention when at the exact same time, the staff had buckets of food they were tossing at them. I'm glad we did not spend $65+ on this. Depending on your group size, some of you might be in the back and not get a good view. We had some rude people in our tour who wouldn't move so one mother daughter duo didn't even have room to take a photo of the feeding since people were in the way and the feeding is only a few seconds since it is only one piece of food per person. The sea otter encounter is also in the old polar bear section so it was sad to see all the metal enclosures in the there. -not all rides were up and running -I still feel incredibly sad for the animals in such tiny tanks. There were 3 beluga whales and a seal in one small tank and they kept swimming around which seemed really constricting for them.

Yelp
I decided to purchase the VIP experience for my parents and I and I enjoyed every minute of it. I wanted to give my parents an experience they'd always remember and I believe I accomplished that. We arrived here at the designated time finding the sign for VIP tours easily. Parking was a bit messed up as I was told that we would have VIP parking but every parking attendant seemed confused when I showed them the pass that was sent to me. Regardless we parked and met our guide who was fantastic. She may not have completely understood what it was like working with older people as my parents often had troubles hearing her as we walked, but it was a small nit. For six or so hours we were guided through the park effortlessly. We fed sea lions, touched a beluga whale, saw dolphins up close, and fed sea turtles. We dined with orcas for lunch, skipped lines to be at the front for a couple rides, and had our own entrances and seats for three of the shows. It felt so nice to not have to plan, to fight our way forward, to worry after my older parents to see if they enjoyed the experience. All through it our guide emphasized Sea World's contributions and efforts to conservation. We toured the behind the scenes and saw their animal hospital. We were able to talk to keepers who shared their insights. It was a fantastic experience and one I will treasure.

Yelp
Absolutely ridiculous - waited 57 minutes to speak to a live representative regarding a free guest pass - no one picked up. Hours of operation was 9:00-6:00pm - I called at 9:02am. Customer service?? Non existent.

Yelp
Warning! $504.84 is a lot for two annual passes I visited Sea World with my daughter in June of 2023. rather than paying for a single day we opted to buy and annual pass because we expected we would be back in the subsequent 12 months. As I was preparing to pay, the cashier volunteered that they had a way to stretch the cost of two passes over the following 12 months. I was led to believe that I would pay $22.66 for 12 months and then the passes would expire, but they did not. Shame on me for not noticing/watching for SEAWORLD transactions on my credit card statment after June 2024, but yesterday I saw that they were still charging me. But not the original $22.66. They had increased the charge by 60% to $37.80. Two passes cost me $504.84. Again, my fault for not watching my account, but so uncool that they set something up to trap people into paying beyond what they expected to pay.

Yelp
Sea World in San Diego is a large park with rides, a nice area to see the whales, and whale and dolphin shows. They also have penguins and other fish that you can touch. I was not impressed with any of it and we will not be back. The only reason I am giving 3 stars and not 2 is because the staff is super nice and know the area well. Parking is for a fee and get ready to walk to the gate. The day we were there it was so hot and there is no escape from it. They don't have enough places to sit and when you find one you might very well be in the sun. It was miserable. Getting in took about 20 minutes, so they should staff up. The food selection is very poor. They have sandwiches, burgers etc., but none of it is good and we had to wait until we left to have a real meal. The rides are fun for kids, but the lines are long so get ready to wait, in the heat. They have dolphin and whale shows. We wanted to see one and they were all cancelled for the time we picked. No notice, nothing. I really felt ripped off. They have a fish petting area that is not supervised and kids just grab star fish etc. and this is cruel. Can they at least have someone that says no, don't put the starfish in your pocket. They also have an area where you can put your hand in and the wrasse will nibble on your hand. At least they enjoy that, but again, not one attendant to deal with kids that are not being raised with any manners by parents. The place is pretty clean. Overall, it was very disappointing and even my grandkid does not want to come back. Bye Sea World.

Yelp
I've now been to SeaWorld enough times to feel I've enough experience to comment on its best features, as well as its glaring flaws. I'm not exactly sure how it was in the "olden days", but it's my understanding that the exhibits and shows came first, and all the thrill rides were bolted on later, over time. Whether or not this is the case, it is certainly how it feels, for better or for worse. Personally, as far as the rides themselves go, I could take them or leave them: I didn't come here to be whisked, spun and flipped around - those motions (and ensuing emotions) should be reserved for the animals. My personal love affair with SeaWorld IS with the animals, whether they be in enclosures, or putting on a wet-and-wild show. As a both a living museum, a rescue and rehabilitation organization, and a conservatory, this is where SeaWorld finds its place and purpose (porpoise?) in the world, as far as I am concerned. In these aspects, SeaWorld excels: educational, engaging, and inspiring. No thrill ride can do all of these things simultaneously, if at all. On the flipside, there are several glaring detractors: the food quality throughout the park is lackluster, and terribly overpriced, even as far as theme park food goes. There's a dearth of indoor seating, which means if you are unfortunate enough to arrive on one of the few (but increasingly frequent) rainy San Diego days, there is little refuge for you when lunch time comes around. Any other time, you can flee to the sanctity of one of exhibits, of course. The park is also staffed by generally unhelpful youths whose glaring lack of work experience (in some cases) can be extremely frustrating, either when it comes to line management, food service, or generally just finding your way around. Detractors aside, SeaWorld is still a magical experience based on its core aesthetic and attractions: the charming and (mostly) lovable creatures of the sea. In short, come for the fishes, but don't eat them. In fact, just pack a lunch: you, your wallet, and your stomach will thank me!

Yelp
We went to the SeaWorld to celebrate our anniversary. My wife loves the dolphins, orcas, penguins, and beluga. She was so excited to see the shows. I downloaded the map but it was hard to find the show locations. No information for the showtime. We asked many times where is the dolphin show area...orca show, sea lion show...etc. We saw the first dolphin show at 11. Packed in the amphitheaters. It was awesome at the show. Impressed!!! We were not wet during show but lots of front seat area was all splashed by dolphins. We had the orca show, sea lion show....at 12, at 2. In a meantime, we tried to eat early lunch, chicken sandwich, tacos, BBQ tri tip, and burger, orange chicken bowl w all day dining tickets. All the shows were awesome and we loved the 2nd dolphin show more. The foods we tried were not flavorful. I think most foods are fast food quality to be honest. Why not hire some chef like Vegas buffet? For the ride, my wife wanted to take wrecked rafter and it was fun. We all got wet our pants, shoes.....Haha.... We had a great time from 10 to 4:30. The parking fee was $32, little expensive. We had a great deal with AAA to purchase the tickets w all day dining. We didn't have time to see the penguin, beluga, shark after the 2nd Orca show at 4. Next time, definitely go to see other areas. The direction signs were not really visible. We got lost many times where is exit or coffee shop, restaurants, and restrooms. Pros Ticket price w all day dining: strongly recommended. Show time: Dolphin show 11:00 3:00 Orca show 12:00 4:00 Sea lion , otter show 2:00 5:00 Staff, service: friendly Cons Signs, Map: not visible. No show time information Foods: 2 stars Overall, we had fun time all day and my wife liked the racer back tank top w dolphin print at the gift shop. We had such a beautiful weather and will come definitely soon for the other shows.

Yelp
I love Sea World. It's the perfect balance between amusement park and zoo/aquarium. Great day for hanging with family or just to come out for some fun with friends. Food is theme park priced but delicious so it's worth the spend. If you're into beer, I strongly recommend their Emperor IPA brewed especially for Sea World by Mike Hess Brewing.
