We went here for my boyfriend’s birthday because we saw this restaurant recommended by the Michelin guide. It’s located in a compound with other restaurants and shops, parking is easy accessible. We waited outside while they sent someone to pick us up and seat us. The interior and vibe in the restaurant is cozy-classy and the table set super stylish. A waiter came and introduced himself by name but turned out not to be our “dedicated” waiter in the end.
What threw us off and dimmed the experience a bit at the beginning was the fact that they had no menu card but only a QR code that we had to scan. So we started the evening off by looking at our phones and trying to decipher the (very original) menu. It is mandatory to have a starter and a main, which is fine, since they have a handful of inventive starters and 3 different main courses. We picked the potato cream with octopus and the prawn tar tar as starters and the paella with giant canary prawns to share.
The starters looked absolutely beautiful and tasted super unique. it’s a very unique and local experience and absolutely worth it. While the starters came with (somewhat) of an explaination of the waitress, the main arrived (served from yet another waiter) with a very brief (and Spanish) explanation on how to disassemble the prawn. We would have loved to hear more about the dish, its origin, the rarity of the prawn and why the prawn was raw. (Which we found out while eating it as it was not specified in the menu)
That said; it was delicious! The caramelized rice was amazing and the raw, giant prawn was so soft and fresh, it basically melted in our mouths. Portions are enough to fill you up without stuffing.
We had the local white wine which was served generously and whose salty, earthy notes complemented the dished very well.
As a dessert we had the husk meringue with corn mouse and I can confidently say that I have never had such a surprising dessert. It combines sweet and savory flavours in such a way that every bite tastes different.
Another interesting part of the dinner was the sparking water, which is a natural mineral water that has never seen the light. Maybe not necessary but indeed very cool!
All in all it was a super cool experience. I would have loved to learn more about the dishes and have maybe one dedicated waiter who takes care of us but other than that the food was great!
