Catch the Game at These Metro Detroit Sports Bars

"When the longtime owners of Ferndale’s beloved Stop Spot sold the bar to the owners of fellow Ferndale spot, Sneakers Pub, residents breathed a sigh of relief. Patrons come here for the karaoke, steel pan pizzas, the long bar tables ideal for topping with Game Day snacks, and its mellow dive bar vibes." - Amber Ogden

Nice local bar with good food. Pool table, sports on tvs, darts, golden tee, keno, and an AMI with good selection. Lots of options for liquor and drinks

Just went in for a couple drinks. Very friendly. Have karaoke on the weekends. Awesome prices. Tigers game. Didn't eat this time but will be back

Last week my girlfriend and I spent $66 including a 20% tip on 2 burgers, a Tito’s and cranberry, and 2 miller lights….. this is EXPENSIVE for a small local dive bar. Unfortunately with all the competition in the area - there are many other bars that cost anywhere from $60-$75 for MUCH better food, drinks, and just about everything else. It’s the local bar that is near the house so I’m sure we will go back, but I was very unimpressed for how much their food is!

This place was cool. Attended for karaoke night and enjoyed performances. Drinks were delicious and priced well. Definitely going back.

Terrible service. Table of 8. Had to go to the bar to order drinks. Stood there for 10 mins just to be ignored. So much better when it was The Stop Spot. We left and came to Amicis in Berkley. Much better service here

Nice little bar with a small selection of beers at good prices. One server running the whole place was the staffing while we were there on a Thursday evening. Only problem with that is all the regulars wanna chat with that server and then your waiting 10 minutes trying to get another beer debating if you should even get another. Didn't want to walk up to the bar and get it, would've been awkward because the bartender was our server of course. Great deal on wings at this place though wow! Can't remember the exact price but they were the tasty and affordable.

UPDATE 6/17/18: The chippers are still phenomenal. I love the onion aioli. The seasoned fries are really good as well. Those things came out boiling hot and crispy. Husband got the burger (he said it was good) and I got a pizza because the reviews have been all over the place so I wanted to try again. It came out piping hot and looking amazing. The bottom was crisp while the top was fluffy. Much much better than the last time I was here but I still think I prefer Warrilows if I am doing a local bar pizza. UPDATE 4/2/17: Just ordered pizza for carry out. Blech. Tastes like a cheap homemade pizza. What happened?!?! Sauce is bland. Cheese is weird and the pepperoni are like mini bologna or something. Did not like. ORIGINAL: Currently at Second Base. I used to go to Stop Spot often but stopped. The interior is now bright and clean looking. The pizza is the same except they don't put parmesan on before handing it to you. The chippies are delicious. The sauce is some cream cheese/sour cream thing. I enjoyed them. It's currently nice and quiet. Will be back.

I was eating my meals here very night until the owner showed up one night and it was my last night giving these people money.

Yelp
Came here for the first time and the bartender was rushing me with my order. She asked how could she help and I wanted to ask for a shot, hot dog, and a order of mozz sticks but when I said which shot I wanted, she grabbed it, came back and then I let her know about the hot dog and she just walked off and came back and told me the price. I can understand if I was taking a long time but I was not, she walked away before I could even finish. It was weird to me. The hot dog bun was extremely stale- did not enjoy. But I did try a bite of my friends pizza and that was delicious. The vibe of the place was amazing, but the customer service gives this a 3/5 stars for me.

Carlos J.

Yelp
I liked the place under previous management, I've been here a few times since the change, it still seems ok, but I didn't stay long either time, nor have I had the pizza, it used to be AMAZING!

Yelp
I sorely miss the Stop Spot and its attendant rowdiness and shuffleboard table (seriously, RIP) but the food and service here are both fantastic. The nicest bartenders in the area, two beautifully finished pool tables and $5 Jameson shots. And yes - their karaoke still brings out some "characters."

Yelp
Small local bar, with a unmodernized feel. This is a good thing. I stopped by as my guy Mark told me the wings were crazy. I didn't feel like cooking and can always go for a good wing so I stopped by. I didn't like you couldn't look at the menu online but wasn't mad about it. When I got there it was packed, I had completely forgot that Michigan had its national football game this Monday. Nonetheless I went to the bar and ordered wings and a burger. Again, I wanted to see the menu online so I would have an idea of food cost. I ordered a burger and wings based off of Yelp, wings $12.95 for 10 and burger $11.95 but that comes with fries. The Burger is a double smashed patty with fresh toppings and a cheese of your choice. The wings came in a sweet and spicy glaze and are huge! I wasn't entirely sure of the food at first but when I got home I took a bite of the burger and started crying. It was everything I wanted in a burger, not fancy but not lacking in flavor. The wings THE WINGS! These gotta be jumbo wings and are cooked to perfection, excellent crispness! GREAT FLAVOR My only area for opportunity would be the fries. My portion looked like all the leftovers from previous fresh order and was still small. Plus these are bagged fries, but I don't mind that if they taste good just respect my lil portion lol. The fries were good, but I needed a few more, overall check them out well worth it.

Yelp
It's a bit of a dive bar, which is fine. We came on a Friday and they had karaoke. The food was good. It took a bit but it was a packed house and one waitress on the floor. Overall, I'd come back.

Tina D.

Yelp
lady who answers the phone is extremely rude- i called to get information, she said she doesnt know anything and theres a menu on the website and hung up on me... joey needs to fire her because that attitude alone will cost him business...

Yelp
Trash. Went there after work. A real rarity. Invited friends up, bar tended I've never seen, "They don't make Long Islands" like it's against their religion. Wings are overpriced. $7.95 for 5 half wings. I ordered a beer @ 8:25. Had two, maybe three by 9:45. She charge me for 4. I asked about it. She said "talk to the manager, I am the manager" And she took my beer and said I'm banned. Lmfao. What a joke. Been coming here for years in afternoon for lunch. Spent big money. I know half the people in this place. Bought the bar rounds before. If and when I ever come back... manager better be there. Huge joke. Funny thing is I go to the sister bar "sneakers" all the time too. For lunch. Apparently the afternoon shift brings an entirely different experience for the constituents. Wow.

Yelp
A few friends and I stopped in a couple months ago (on a Friday) for the first time. It's a big space, plenty of tables and chairs and much to my surprise, PULL TABS and KARAOKE! Drink prices were decent. They have a food menu with basic bar snacks, hamberders and sandwiches. They had $2 "mystery shots" which were literally just random Pucker flavors with nothing else mixed in. Don't buy these, people. The waitress for our table was attentive to our group of 7, and she was friendly the entire night. She didn't mind splitting the bills up, either. We had a great time singing karaoke with the other patrons (the place got pretty busy after 10pm). I'd definitely stop in again for drinks and good company.

Yelp
This place kind of was what I expected.. They have bar food and to be honest it was NOTHING special, NOTHING that great and the wings 10 piece order still had 5 wings left and it was split between 4 people,... Nobody finished them lol which says something. Just so you know they DON'T make margaritas, they don't make Spanish coffees, god forbid a frozen drink...and they didn't have any of the liquor I requested. NOT ONE!!! So it's pretty basic hole in the wall cheap bar.... but hey it's cheap and they are cheap and judging by the crowd they also looked cheap.... There was a mixture of people they played mostly country music The only positive thing about my experience here was that they did have pulled tabs and Keno which I to play but even the keno and Pull Tabs didn't even win me anything I probably will never be back *(by this I WILL NEVER BE BACK)* Sorry establishment but you were a huge disappointment.

Jess G.

Yelp
Great bar until the Karaoke crowd rolls in. The wings are the best in town! But $10.95 for a grilled cheese... get out of here.

Dwight M.

Yelp
Great food and service, plus really friendly atmosphere. The burgers and wings are awesome and not a bad price either. I go here at least once a week!

Yelp
I have been there over the years and been through the reinvention. It worked because more people frequent it now than before. This location used to be called the Stop Spot and had pretty good pizza at that time. Current Review............Great service by the staff, the waitress checks on you with high frequency and is friendly. They do have plenty of seating at the bar and a couple of high top tables to sit at. Most of the seating is at table that are way too close together and the chairs are always hitting each other, not arranged well at all. Bottles of Miller High Life are only 2 bucks there..........ah MHL a bright, bubbly beer in a bottle the Champagne of beers : ) On the last visit is was a Sunday evening and also a karaoke night, but the only one doing the singing was the host. Not one patron held the mic. An ok little bar, more like a relaxed HP bar than a Ferndale trendy Ferndale bar. So giving it an "A-OK"
google avatar

Greg B.

Yelp
A typical neighborhood bar, with everyone who knows each other. The way to staff was very friendly, the menu is pretty decent with normal bar fare. They have lots of specials, food and drink. They also have Keno. I understand that the karaoke is pretty good there, and the waitress said we should come back on a Friday or Saturday that the place was always busy and a lot of fun to be in. I plan to go back and have a few drinks and see if she was right.
google avatar

Howard F.

Yelp
Who would of thought! This place is deceiving. In Ferndale off nine mile. Came here for the wings. Believe they were voted best and let me tell you, just cause I'm a wing kind guy. The absolute best. Their menu, doesn't qualify the quality of food. We had the fillet entree and it was unbelievably great. High end restaurant-this cook is better. Listen to this: sesame nibbles with sesame sauce, Cajun cat fish & Mac n cheese, BLT flatbread. Woooohoo! The prices you would faint. For instance: fillet, green beans, mushrooms, horse radish potatoes-$12 It's a great hole-in-wall place. Can't beat it

Yelp
They sold and are now second base pub. My friend just sent the message below to me. All things have to end I guess. I'll miss this place. I'm glad there are a few local places all out there. "At Second Base, aka Stop Spot. Shuffleboard is gone. Down to one pool table. 33 oz. beer is no more...20 oz. is big beer now. Pizza still served, but food menu much smaller. Kinda cold in here. On the plus side, they have Tully DEW. 33 oz beer (LaBatt Blue) was $3.50. 20 oz beer is now $4.75. Never coming back."

Yelp
Christmas in July Fiasco!!!!! Let me start by explaining that there are Christmas lights hanging all around the bar which is a key point in this review. So last night, my buddy and I ducked into this place after a meal for a beer because he had not been in since it was Stop Spot, and we used to come all the time. While in there we decided to play some music because we didn't particularly care for Country music that was playing, so we fired up the jukebox app. Since I saw the Christmas lights hanging and it was July I figured, why not....Christmas In July!!! I played "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year" followed by "Jingle Bell Rock". The problem is that JBR was skipped. So I then play it again and it's skipped again. So I asked the bartender why is my song getting skipped and she replied with " I didn't do it, I don't know who did". So now I am super annoyed because of course she did, and then blatantly lied to my face. I am admitting freely that after that, I was being extra loud on purpose so she could hear me at the table (since there were 6 other people in bar it was not that hard) saying at the table for her to hear "I'll just play it on priority so it plays next and I plus I can see it queued up and it's next". Then she just turns off the jukebox completely and says "I think you guys need to leave". I asked for a refund on my songs that were not played and skipped by her which was met with "You guys need to leave now". Such a petty thing to write a negative review, but to get kicked out over Christmas music on the jukebox, while the place openly has Christmas lights hanging all around the bar seems kind of hypocritical in my opinion. This bar is definitely not somewhere I want to try anymore, which is a shame because that place was a gem when it was Stop Spot and I was there fairly often.

Yelp
Edited to add: my original review is for when this used to be Spot Stop. I've tried second base and it's nowhere near what spot stop was, unfortunately.

Yelp
The pizza. The pizza, The Pizza, THE PIZZA. That coupled with cheap drinks and two experiences now with bartenders who had great senses of humor have definitely added this to the "Yeah, I'm going to be here quite a bit" list. Doesn't hurt that it's a two minute drive from our studio, so this is the new de facto hang out spot. My love for dive bars is pretty well established, and this definitely fits into that category. From the semi-rundown interior to the single speaker radio, this is the kind of place my grandfather used to hang out in, and you need places like that in your life. Add in the killer pizza, and you've got yourself a good night.

Yelp
Jello shots daily, amazing pizza. What more can you ask for?

Yelp
This USED to be Stop Spot... THIS is STOP SPOT'S YELP account/page and they've simply changed the name... It is under new management now... They're very nice, but Stop Spot USED TO BE our FAVORITE place to grab a carry-out pizza... As often as once a week! Especially, if we were having friends over... $12 for a GIANT pizza with tons of delicious toppings, butter, garlic, parmesan crust... Just... EXCELLENT pizza. Now?... You're better off grabbing a pizza from 7/11, Little Caesars or even Speedway. I cannot even describe how gross this pizza is... We tried it last week when they'd been open just a day and claimed it was "BETTER" than the old pizza... They couldn't be MORE WRONG. We ordered two mediums because they didn't have Large available... It was so bad that I immediately called and complained... I explained that Stop Spot used to be known for their great food and that this pizza was about 50% covered in cheese (instead of like 85%), it had so few toppings that two slices didn't even have a single pepperoni on them! The small cup-like kind of pepperonis are fine, but they give you about 10. She apologized and said, "Some people don't like all of the toppings"... Seriously? The cheese was meh, but the sauce? The sauce was the absolute worst part. It was the most bLando Calrissian tomato paste that you've ever ingested... Just disgusto barfo. I told her that I was embarrassed to serve it to my guests... The manager asked us to come back the following week and give them another chance... She said the pies would be on them. Yesterday I called to cash in. I told them we'd just like one so we don't have two throw away an entire pizza again. (It would just be my husband and I this time...) The gal who took my order asked if I wanted the, "butter parmesan crust like Stop Spot used to do?..." I said, "Of course! I didn't know I had to ask for that... " She showed me the pizza when I went to pick it up. It had almost twice as much cheese as last time and about 3 more tiny pepperoni... and it did have the parmesan cheese on top. I brought it home... Hopeful, that it would be better. Unfortunately, we were disappointed AGAIN. The dough was undercooked and... besides having more cheese... It was STILL... BY FAR one of the worst pizzas we've ever tasted. We each choked down one piece and threw it away. RIP Stop Spot... Your two redeeming qualities were your EXCEPTIONAL food and the shuffleboard... Second Base got rid of BOTH of those so now it's just a sad dive bar with a new name that sounds less about baseball and more just... sexually suggestive.
google avatar

Sara G.

Yelp
New rating, based entirely on the quality of Second Base's pizza. It is NOT the same. It doesn't even approach what Stop Spot used to make. If you're still in a reverie over SS's dreamy pie, STOP. Staff are still really friendly though.
google avatar

Joe B.

Yelp
Off the beaten path a bit, Ferndale's Stop Spot is a "you get what you see" kind of dive. The owner is usually huddled up to far side of the bar near the kitchen's expediting window which generally delivers decent fare for a dive. Nachos, pizza, appetizers all normal bar food... but they do a pretty good job here. The reason we always come back is for the shuffle board and the pool tables. They have karaoke too, I'm thinking, on Fridays if I recall correctly but it's just a fun spot to start or end a night. Check it out, it may be your kind of place.

Yelp
Awesome! BEST pizza, friendly staff, classic atmosphere, a must check out

Yelp
We stopped in for a quick lunch. Bartender was very nice and we were served quickly. Nice cold beer! Husband had a Reuben and I had one of the specials, Western tots. Both were delicious!! One of the owners happened to pop in and was especially friendly! I think his name was Dave. Will definitely be back!! The Furze

Andrew F.

Yelp
Ordered a few pies, some wings, and tots to go with our pitchers after a basketball game, and left the bar completely satisfied with every item. Wings were cooked well and had a great flavor and texture. Beers were cold. Pizza hit the spot. Lotto ticket vending machine will probably be the reason I come back.
google avatar

Michael C.

Yelp
My favorite little Ferndale dive. It feels... familiar. Only thing it's missing is latch-hook rugs and it'd definitely be my home away from home. The beers are cheap and the mixed drinks are poured heavy. What more can you ask for? The pizza isn't bad - about the level of Sgt. Pepper's at the Garden Bowl. I've had random other fried foods there... but I couldn't tell you what they taste like. I was way too drunk and probably waiting to sing the Doors. Shuffleboard, yes. It's a HUGE board and well-tended. Plus they have a redheaded bartender with a killer smile. So whatever the hell anyone else says, I'm in.
google avatar

Carole H.

Yelp
This place was best described by my gentleman friend, when he said that Stop Spot was the closest resembelence to Moe's bar (a la the Simpsons) he has ever seen in real life. Dark, divey, and with a small cast of usual suspects. FANTASTIC pizza. I'm not a huge connisseur of pizza, so when I was told Stop Spot's is the "best," I figured it would be pretty good, just like most pizza (or anything greasy and covered in cheese, for that matter) is pretty good. But after my first bite, I was wowed! Delicious. You can usually catch a decent beer special, and not even just on Bud & Mille - I've gotten tall mugs of Kilian's and Blue Moon on the cheap here.. Low key, clean, and far enough off the beaten path (beaten path = 9 & Woodward downtown) that it doesn't get packed and overrun with the usual crowd of visitors that infiltrates Ferndale on weekends. And shuffleboard! I like it.
google avatar

Natalie L.

Yelp
Cheapest bar in Ferndale with great food and service. A definite plus for having a pool table too
google avatar

Heidi M.

Yelp
I took my Mom for a pizza on a Friday evening. The next day when I walked into a family function, there she was telling everyone about the great pizza she had the night before. Apparently the apple doesn't fall far from the tree! We like good food and we like to talk about it!!! Oh and they have shuffleboard! Fun! A couple drawbacks I have noticed, not that they will stop me from going back... -the parking lot is a little small, couldn't get a spot around 11 on a Saturday night (during a pizza craving emergency) -their burgers aren't good (stick with pizza, what was I thinking??)
google avatar

Joe V.

Yelp
I've been to Stop Spot a few times, but recently after running a search for good pizza in the area Stop Spot surprisingly stood out on Yelp. Place doesn't look like much. It's a straight-up dive, but it's got all the comforts of a solid dive. Keno, pool, darts, shuffleboard. Cheap drinks and surprisingly good pizza. We came with the intention of trying the pizza and as others have said, the pizza at Stop Spot is solid. I think they must use a NY style pizza oven where the pizza actually sits on the oven itself and not a conveyor. I could be wrong, but that's how I think their crust gets so crispy. It's like a NY-style pizza had a pizza baby with "normal" round pizza. The crust is really crispy on the bottom, but it's still light and doughy on top. It took quite a while for the pizza to come out...that is my only gripe, but in their defense the place was jammed on a Saturday night. It was worth the wait. Prices were on point, too. Stop Spot isn't a place that's always on my radar since it's off the beaten path a little, but I might think about taking the detour a little more often now.
google avatar

noah m.

Yelp
The Stop Spot has one of the few remaining level table shuffleboards in Southeastern Michigan. In my opinion, shuffleboard is a much better non-sport than pool or darts. Fewer people know the rules to shuffleboard so you don't have to have any skill to look like you know what you're doing. Just make a really serious face (like you have to poop) when you throw the puck. Also, shit talking is a very important facet to the game. Before you play, you should come up with some really mean things to say to your opponent. If my girlfriend is winning, and she usually is, I like to say something like "I'm fucking your sister" or "I think Hall & Oates are talentless hacks". Anything to throw her off her game. The booze is cheap, the food is greasy, and the karaoke is loud and off-key. The Stop Spot is the perfect neighborhood bar.
google avatar

Kristin F.

Yelp
As a long time fan of stop spot, I'm open to the new second base. The burger isn't nearly as good, the shuffle board is gone, as are the darts, which is disappointing, but the staff was friendly, and the drinks comparable. They actually have more beers on tap, which is good for the beer drinkers, but the big mugs are gone. The menu is small, but they are just getting started, so I'm sure it'll be better. The prices for food are higher, and the chippers were REALLY salty, probably to encourage more drinking. I think the potential to be a good local bar is there, I will definitely go back.
google avatar

Marty F.

Yelp
I'm giving stop spot five stars solely on their pizza. I can't say anything about any of their other menu items, because I haven't had them, cuz I always get the pizza. It's not really my type of place to hang out, but from time to time, I'll belt out some karaoke there. But their pizza......holy crap. Easily the best pizza in the ferndale/royal oak area. Actually, it's my second favorite pie I've ever had in michigan (second only to Amars in Hamtramck). The cheese is melts and stringy and doesn't slide off the slice, pulling the toppings with it. Idk if their pizza sauce is made in house, but it's fantastic. The dough is good too. I even eat the crust, which is crispy on the outside and light and fluffy inside. Those are the three most important things on a good pizza. Their large is massive. It's larger than an XL at most pizza chains. They don't skimp on toppings either. In fact, they're very heavy handed. It's like you get double toppings. And it's insanely cheap. A large (XL basically) loaded with 3 toppings comes to $15. It's basically 2-3 meals for my girlfriend and myself.
google avatar

Krissie R.

Yelp
This pizza is, by far, my absolute favorite! I'm so used to shitty pizza chains that I never knew pizza could be this good. It's even cheaper than the shitty pizza chains too! I get so excited when I order it, because when it's almost ready they bring out the basket of pizza supplies-silverware, Parmesan cheese, red pepper, salt&pep, etc. The first non-edible item that's ever made me salivate!! I personally take offense to anyone citing another restaurant as the "best pizza," and insist that they try Stop Spot whenever I hear that nonsense. Okay enough about the pizza. Karaoke is fun, but be warned, the KJ (karaoke jockey) likes country and country sometimes snowballs in the karaoke world. But who cares? Go for the pizza.
google avatar

Kate S.

Yelp
It is no longer the Stop Spot - it is now Second Base and there are some significant changes, most importantly the pizza recipe is not the same. The crust is now the caliber of a frozen pizza and the sauce is lacking flavor. Previously, I would have given the Stop Spot's pizza a 5 star rating. There is no longer shuffle board and there were people next to me at the bar who left once they found out this news. I am really hoping this is just an unfortunate (even if not surprising) transition in ownership.

Jay D.

Yelp
And to add to this, I just drank four 22 ounce drafts of the same beer at rosie ogradys, where the food is better, for only $12 during their happy hour. So I can literally drink almost two whole beers more (actually way more, since your beer comes in regular pint glass sizes) for the half the price at a downtown pub. So yeah, you guys have to really reconsider your happy hour beer prices.

Yelp
I came here randomly one night when my partner remembered an old bar he went to a couple years ago that we drove up and down 9 mile looking for it and couldn't find it, so we decided to check this place out and we're very happy we did. A dive bar isn't typically my type of bar I enjoy but I really had a good time here. They had karaoke going on and almost everybody was singing and got the chance to sing multiple times if they wanted, some were really good and others were just going to have a good time - either way there was no judgement and everyone in the bar had a fun time. I haven't been back yet but I will be soon, I also didn't have any food so I can't comment on that. They had wine by the split (small bottles that fill 1 glass) so it was fresh but not the best although its my fault for ordering wine in a dive bar. My partner had his regular Bacardi and coke. Drinks were cheap and generous pours. Bathrooms were okay, a little dark and dirty but they were fine. I played Keno and they had pull tabs which were fun. The place was not packed when we went which was a weekend night, Friday/Saturday I can't remember but enough people to talk to and meet some new friends. They had pool tables which some people were playing and the chairs at the tables appeared to be folding chairs which was odd I thought but the patrons didn't seem to mind. Overall I'd check this place out if you're considering it, based on other reviews the food seems good. I will be back again sometime but I wouldn't plan on spending a whole night out here for me personally.

Corene F.

Yelp
I can only speak to what this place is like on a Tuesday night, so you'll all just have to deal with it. I have passed by this place many times, but never gone in. Well, my date suggested we meet up there for food and drinks. Loving a dive bar, I was all about it. The place was clean, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the prices were reasonable. However, the hot and spicy chicken wings and the pizza were OUTSTANDING. The wings were nice and crispy and not at all slimy, which is the grossest thing wings can be. The pizza. What do they do to it? It's no frills, but so tasty. The crust is super yummy, the cheese is the best cheese I have ever had on a pizza, the pepperoni were numerous, and it was cooked perfectly. I probably would have eaten half of the pizza, but I didn't want to gross out my date. I will be back, because I can foresee the day that I physically crave that pizza. ******This review was for Stop Spot, which has now been sold and is operating under a new name.

Yelp
I love coming here on Friday nights! It's everything I need in a bar: not too crowded, but not completely empty, A++ pizza, cheap drinks, parking, and endless sources of entertainment: shuffleboard, karaoke, pool, WHAT HAVE YOU - also, very close to my home.

Yelp
Great little Ferndale dive. Great place to grab some cheap beer and do karaoke on the weekends. The staff is friendly, the food is above average for a dive bar, and the crowd is pretty fun. Never disappointed! Parking lot is pretty small, so be ready to walk a block or so if you don't show up early on the weekend.

Yelp
Really good pizza... Best in the area. The kind you crave for and doesn't taste like they use cheap ingredients. Crust, sauce, cheese- all yum! Kinda bummed I called and they said I had to call back in an hour to order a pizza cuz they were busy and on break. Pretty odd. 4 stars, 5 for the pizza, minus 1 for service. Haven't actually hung out there yet, so I'll write another review when I do.

Yelp
We happened in this week for a late lunch/brew. As dive bars go Second Base was a pleasant experience. Sarah made us feel welcome and filled us in on this establishment. Food and brew choices were excellent. Definitely will add to the top of our list of neighborhood grub and pub bars.

Yelp
Went in to check out the new bar. It is still under renovation. It is a test menu, and there was only one bartender. Willing to come back, but my opinion don't visit now. It still looks/tastes/feels incomplete.

Yelp
BEST bar in Ferndale! If you're looking for a sweet dive full of locals, check out the Stop Spot. Karaoke Friday and Saturdays is always fun. Great drink prices and exceptional service. I've taken a few friends here, and they've continued to go back again and again.

Yelp
I've come here many times. Service is a hit or miss. There are 2 really nice blonde ladies who hit a home run if you manage to get them but they mostly work at night. If you're there during the day, don't count on the daytime bartender lady being too friendly. It's a running joke amongst our friends who frequent this place on how rude she is and not in the Farouk kind of way. We still came for the pizza regardless and always hoping for the two nice ladies. Yep, that good. Unfortunately, this last time our pizza slid off of the stand it was on, toppling to the bar floor. The younger, blonde bartender informed us there was nothing they could do for us, even though we had only eaten 2 pieces of the 12 piece pizza. No new pizza, no discount, nothing! We left very hungry and I can no longer say that I find visiting here justifiable, even though it is blocks from my house. The pizza is no longer that good.

Yelp
Warm bottled beer, warm "chilled mug", burger was tough. Mozzarella sticks were hot and crispy. Bartenders was amiable enough. I'll give it another chance later.

Yelp
Great little hole in the wall type of place with friendly staff, excellent pizza, and good burgers. Two decent pool tables, and shuffle board. Love the place.

Yelp
Shanna and Jill are the best bartenders in Ferndale. Great food, amazing service, not bad to look at and always smiling.

Yelp
Their pizza is good but hours are false. They said food until 1am. We arrived at 12:30am. We sat at the bar for 15 minutes and no one acknowledged us, then we heard the bartender tell the people next to us that the pizza oven was shut down, it was only 12:45. You suck!!!
