First time here and everything was excellent! The espresso and drip were very flavorful and the food was actually better than most. Phillip was also super nice and helpful (as well as the rest of the team). Can't wait to come back!

Industrial meets intellectual at this intimate coffee spot in Des Moines featuring select specialty micro roasts and delicious chaider (chai+cider, pictured). This is the coffee shop you want to go to if you're looking for a sense of community and comfort. Owner welcomed everyone. Strangers chatted with each other pleasantly while waiting for drinks. It was easy to feel comfortable while taking a break from errands with my 5 month old. Second Love is truly one of a kind. We will be back!

Love having a new local coffee shop in Des Moines! Staff is friendly and makes an excellent latte. The coffee they roast is delicious, space has a great vibe for quiet chats or working during the day. And I'm excited to enjoy their covered patio on a future warmer day. It's huge!

Second Love is a wonderful new addition to Des Moines. The staff is very friendly, and the coffee is meticulously crafted. I tried a seasonal special, the salted maple cappuccino, and really enjoyed it. I did not try any food on this first visit, but I plan to on another visit. The interior is cozy and there is a patio outside.

Beautiful house-made syrups like orange, rosemary, and hazelnut. Philip is wonderful to talk to and makes you feel so welcome at his cafe. It is quickly becoming my regular spot. ☺️

I stumbled upon this café and instantly fell in love with its warm, welcoming vibe. The coffee is rich and flavorful, the location is super easy to find, and the space inside feels open and airy. My favorite part? Sitting outside with a cup of coffee while enjoying the beautiful view. And with such reasonable prices, I’ll definitely be coming back!

I stopped in while passing through at about 10am on a Saturday, it was pretty busy - lots of people sitting at tables, coming and going, kinda stuffy. They did not have heavy whipping cream or caramel sauce, which is odd and she did offer vanilla syrup and whole milk instead. I thanked her and left instead of ordering as I always get an iced americano with heavy whip and caramel sauce. The workers seemed overwhelmed but were nice and excersizing good customer service. I give 3 stars for limited coffee staples and ingredients, it also has a very commercialized niche vibe to it as well.
