DFW Restaurants and Bars Where You Can Watch Football | Eater

"Cheesesteaks, chicken-and-waffles–inspired wings, and beer-battered steak fingers await at this brewery from the team behind Truck Yard. Even though it’s a place known for pitchers of house-brewed beer, don’t let that stop you from proudly bucking tradition at this rodeo for a little Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum in your glass. Bring your pooch, watch the game, and enjoy some live country music if you time it right for one of three daily sets." - Steven Craig Lindsey

Google
This is one of our favorite places to go to in the stockyards. They always have live music for the most part and everyone has been really good and we’ve enjoyed being there. I love that they have an indoor outdoor seating area. They have a very large outdoor seating area. We have tried several other drinks and haven’t found one that we don’t like. I would say, though that the frozen drinks are very sweet. They have good options available and everything always smells delicious but I have never personally had it before. They have a lidocaine drink and it is really fun to do and highly suggest it.

Great vibes here. The live music is amazing. Food is good. If you’re around in this area, this place is a must go. Good selection of drinks

Google
Not really my jam, but I could see how people would love this place. Live music, drinks and food, in a great location. Do locals really go here though? Food was okay/good. Small portions, and if I had to categorize it, I would say it’s typical bar food but pretty good, for bar food. Beer was cold and yummy.

Every city in Texas should have a pub like Second Rodeo to showcase Texas hospitality. You order pub food from the counter and wait to be called via a lighted pager. After pick - up, you can sit indoors. and listen to a live music, sit by the huge fire place, or outside on lawn chairs to enjoy casual conversations with friends.

Google
I rented out part of the restaurant for my husband private surprise 60th birthday party. It was absolutely fabulous. Staff were very generous with their time and helping us with everything from start to finish.

We were vacationing near the Stockyards and we really enjoyed Second Rodeo Brewing. Service was friendly. They have a large selection of drinks and their nachos are great. We also enjoyed the live music on the patio.

Google
A must stop kind of bar. This place is HUGE. Inside, upstairs, the outside is enormous and there’s a balcony over looking it all. Frozen drinks come in a plastic cowboy boot you can take home, some cocktails are in little bottles you pour yourself. Live music. A kitchen you can walk up to and order snacks from. Tons and tons of bar tenders and no shortage of seating. The whole roof opens giving an inside outside vibe. They have a little shop and a fake jail for photos

Yelp
This spot was so cute and I'm sure very fun on the weekends. They have a huge back yard with tons of seating and a lil food window. I forgot what it was called and the name of our hoagie but it was steak and it was bomb. this is a super cool spot and if you find yourself in Fort Worth don't seat this one out! Even on a week day they do live music. Didn't try any drinks but dang they had some funnnnnnnn one's

Yelp
With Fort Worth being built up the past few years, we've found it harder and harder to not only find parking but also have room for the entire family to chill and relax. Second Rodeo has some solid drafts on tap, and plenty of outdoor seating which rotated a ton giving tons of families enough room to enjoy the weather!

Yelp
This place is good and lots of space. You can't get over a bad bartender though. Both times they have had nasty attitudes. The Gen Z dazed stare waiting for you to say something is unbearable. Then you saying "hi" first and they still kind of give you an attitude. I may look young but I don't tip young. Be rude and I'll tip rudely. Food seems to be from independent people but have never had it. Otherwise, it's a good place to go.

Yelp
Dinner at the Stockyards in the great city of Fort Worth. What do you expect? Live music? Beers? A great backyard or patio space? I think Second Rodeo Brewing is the only place that truly delivers on that third one. I'll make this review simple. Let's start with the atmosphere. It deserves the highest praise and is the reason I'm even writing this. The space is absolutely gorgeous, with plenty of outdoor, indoor, and hybrid seating. You can be as present with nature as you want. It was a decently cool evening in Fort Worth, so the hybrid space felt very comfortable. There's tons of seating for groups of all sizes. I have to mention the beer. It is a brewery, all things considered. I got a tall of their Roll Dog Amber, and I thought it was pretty good. I don't think I'd ever seek it out unless I was at SRB, but it did what an amber should do. It had a solid maltiness. Did I mention the atmosphere? Outside, there was a beautiful creek filled with turtles. Isn't that sick? Above the stage, a bunch of acoustic guitars, fiddles, and other string instruments were hanging as decoration. One of the cases belonged to Asleep at the Wheel, who I hope plays ACL one year. The only issue I had with the place was the food. They had two different food stations. One focused on burgers, and the other focused on chicken and wings. I considered the wings, but I ended up going for a Philly cheesesteak. At first glance, it looked fantastic. Melted cheese, beef, sautéed peppers--the whole nine yards. But man, that beef had no flavor. It tasted like my grandma was cooking chili. What a travesty. If they stepped up their food game, this place would be a perfect five out of five. But the tragic beef knocked it down a peg. Also, they use a weird soda brand. Not even Maine Root. Something totally unfamiliar. What's going on here? To close, I want to mention once again how great the atmosphere is, in case I haven't already. With oil cans hanging from the ceiling and décor that welcomes you to Fort Worth, the experience is more than worth it.

Yelp
I visited Second Rodeo Brewing in the Stockyards on a Saturday afternoon and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I love the atmosphere! Right after I arrived, a live band started playing and they've got a great open air space to enjoy the music. Food is available and the beer is excellent! The service is outstanding all around. You can't go wrong at Second Rodeo Brewing!

Yelp
The bar service was super fast and friendly. The drinks are amazing -- especially the ones in the little bottle I shared in my photo. The Ranch Water is absolutely delicious! The bathrooms are very clean, and they even have live music. Definitely a place I recommend checking out!
google avatar

Yelp
Very cool looking and huge brewery in the heart of Forth Worth. It was a hot afternoon so we stopped here to get a beer. Unfortunately my beer felt flat and with not much flavor (no CO2 perhaps). They have great decor all around. The bathrooms art is super funny and enternaining. Service was ok.

Yelp
I really love the frozen mango alcoholic drink that I had. I'm not exactly sure what the full name is--I just remember that it was icy cold and mango flavored. It still had its alcohol flavoring, but it was also very sweet due to the mango. It has plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors, and it is located at the stockyards where you can spend a whole day shopping and looking at the cows/demonstration and then end your day off by lounging indoors or outdoors at this brewery.

Yelp
SRB is brewery #319 for me. SRB is big! Huge patio area with live music. The beers were good but didn't wow me. This place is really about the location and the vibe. If anyone is a glutton for punishment, please, follow my brewery, and distillery, reviews from across the U.S. and beyond! https://www.yelp.com/collection/-8iscFkpiiCI563-FDfwGg and if anyone is wondering who SWPFTD is you will have to check out my review of Black Market Brewing Co in Temecula, CA to understand. Yes, you will need to read into it a little to get the joke but I have confidence in you! I hope my confidence is not misplaced.
google avatar

Ray J.

Yelp
Great place for beer and cocktails! The food options are a bit plain but the drinks are good! Love the patio setting with live band and at each sales, there will be a donation request to support live music :)
google avatar

JD T.

Yelp
This place is AWESOME! It's easy to miss walking down the road so make sure you're looking out for it. When you throw the front door open, it reveals on the best places that you kind find anywhere at the stockyards to hang out. The food was good, the prices are ok and the staff were very friendly. All around incredible place.
google avatar

Rachel H.

Yelp
Came here for my high school reunion. The staff was amazing. But do get prepared for a lot of people traffic while you're here. Especially on the weekend. It's very loud and fun.
google avatar

Emily W.

Yelp
Great place to rest and hang out with live music, food, drinks, restrooms, etc. We hung out here before the Stockyards Championship Rodeo. We ordered some nachos, wings, and fries. Food was pretty good but review is more for the overall ambiance. Would recommend coming here to take a breather and hang out!
google avatar

Sujey L.

Yelp
Cool spot! Lots of seating space. I love that there's live music here. The outdoor seating is also very spacious The truck bed seating is such a cute idea! We ordered Palomas, Margaritas, Beer, and Shots. Everything was pretty good! I ordered Buffalo Chicken wings and got them pretty quickly. It's a great place to hangout with friends or even alone. I would definitely visit again.
google avatar

Miss W.

Yelp
There's no direction given when you walk in. Once we figured out we had to find our own seats and how to order our food and drinks, we enjoyed ourselves. The food was ok, the drinks basic and expensive but the ambiance, the live music are eclectically unique. We had a good time.
google avatar

Yelp
We went here for a private event and it is seriously such a fun place! There are cozy booths, outdoor hangout/play areas, and upstairs with long tables for large groups. Years ago we visited The Truckyard in Dallas. At some point I realized that this place is owned by the same people! No wonder it's a great place- these guys are spot on with knowing what a space should have to suit many types of people at once. The food, the drinks and entertainment (live music, outdoor games, mechanical bull) make this place a must go!!! The wings and loaded nachos were amazing and drinks were totally unique! Bartenders are top notch hard workers and we loved the house infused coconut rum and ancho orange tequila. They had little glass bottle flasks and tried the Wheatley Espresso Martini- so good! On a whim we also tried the Charity Blood Bag and that was sooooo good!

Yelp
One of the most talked about Fort Worth locations to stop. Great food and drinks and a spot to have a nice lunch/dinner. Walkable downtown forth worth.

Stephen S.

Yelp
Second Rodeo is... interesting. The servers are fantastic, seriously, the only reason this isn't a 1-star review. But no Tito's? In Fort Worth? That's like opening a BBQ joint and forgetting brisket. Then you find out they're owned by a Dallas company and suddenly it all makes sense. The vibe is part honky-tonk, part daycare -- kids running around while people try to drink, which is a bold move, I guess. Three stars for the staff, but whoever's making the big decisions needs a little less Dallas and a little more Fort Worth.
google avatar

Joseph M.

Yelp
Came here with some friends. This is very much a place for the local "college" crowds. Didn't try any of the food. The facilities were adequate and clean. Perhaps the live entertainment could've been better. Not sure I will return.

Heather D.

Yelp
This place is confusing! It's a beautiful, fun space. Truly delightful! Staff was so kind. Food was okay. The beer was SO BAD. Our party tried five types and no one finished a single beer. I don't understand why this place calls itself a brewery but the beer is so so so bad? Begging them to get someone to help the brewer out. Until then, get one of the dozen or so cocktails on tap!
google avatar

Rachel V.

Yelp
Bathrooms were 10/10. TP and soap were well stocked and the lighting was bright (which helps when you're a little tipsy). The ladies room boasted many separate stalls. Like 6-7 stalls! Who likes waiting in lines for the bathroom? Especially when you've had too much drink. Not me! That's who. You could definitely see yourself have a drunk hug with a stranger in that bathroom. But the coolest part of the bathrooms is the awesome murals/posters on the inside and outside of the stall doors. Very entertaining! Another plus is that you could easily use this bathroom if you weren't a paying customer because the employees would never know! I'll be back to use this John.

Yelp
I honestly can't say enough good things about this place. We went for our friend's 40th birthday party and I had a blast! The atmosphere is really great, it was super chill and not stuffy at all. If you have kids but want to go out, this place is extremely family friendly, I saw people with kids of all ages (newborns to teenagers) . I love the decor, the live music and the food. The cheesesteaks are amazing and the drinks were delicious too. I enjoyed that the drinks came from a tap, this ensures that each drink tasted consistently great. I had the purple drank and also the mother trucker, both tasted amazing! I also enjoyed the funny restrooms, they are a real great conversation piece. This place is really great and I'm glad that I was able to finally go and experience all the fun.

Yelp
We stopped at the brewery to pass time in the stockyards. We were pleased to find a live artists and lively crowd. We ordered drinks and sat in the courtyard area. The size of the drink cups was great!
google avatar

Ismael A.

Yelp
first time in and would return chill laid back spot sitting in lawn chairs enjoying live music and the characters that think they can dance
google avatar

Tabi C.

Yelp
After work drinks with friends at this iconic bar! I had a drink the boot and I adore it!
google avatar

Rosa O.

Yelp
Amazing spot. I recommend you try the Adelle, if they still have it in season. Great ambiance and bartender service. The food took a long time, but it was not a big issue. We took advantage of the wait and enjoyed a second drink. Do not be fooled by the old building, the drinks are great.

Yelp
My wife and I came to Dallas to get away from California. Obviously, we didn't know any better - it's worse than LA. We traveled out of town and wound up in Fort Worth, which was the Texas we were looking for. Upon wandering through the stockyards, we came upon Second Rodeo, and it was amazing. There was live music, friendly faces, and a beautiful outdoor seating area to take it all in at. The craft beers and cocktails are delicious. I loved everything about this place!
google avatar

Kevin W.

Yelp
This is a great place to hang out and have a drink. Great summer vibe. This is not a dive bar like a lot of stockyards places. No table service so walk up to the bar and order. They have food options as well but I didn't try them. We really enjoyed the "porch pounder", it's a peach vodka Arnold Palmer - very refreshing. They only take cards but not a huge deal - tap pay works here. Pro tip - if it starts to get a little crowded, try the upstairs balcony, it's seems hidden enough that it's last to fill up and there is a bar nearby, great spot.

Yelp
My husband and I ended up at Second Rodeo at the end of a pub crawl, and we were so happy that it was our final stop. It is a fun, inviting atmosphere with lots of open space to socialize. There are so many beers to chose from but we both love their Sidewalk Flower - Lemon Cucumber Sour...especially after a hot day of walking around the Stockyards. Cheers!

Yelp
This is a great, laid-back spot for grabbing a bite and a drink. It has lots of character, especially the women's bathrooms! Plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors--it's kid-friendly and great for large parties. The staff at the bar were friendly, and I highly recommend trying the cranberry bourbon smash--it was delicious! The food was tasty, and the live music adds a fun vibe to the atmosphere. A great place to relax and enjoy good food and drinks.
google avatar

Brittney A.

Yelp
What a cool place to have a really tasty drink & some yummy grub. Simple offerings like Philly Cheesesteaks, Nachos, and Wings. I tried the Black Garlic Wings and the sauce was MESSY but so dang good. Portion size was large for the price of just $12 - 6 big wings and a load of fresh fries - tasty ranch! I tried their Honey Bourbon Lemonade - packed a punch and was citrusy. Big fan. They had a really diverse menu of cocktail options. Fun vibes, cool outdoor feel, big open spaces and live music. The bartenders were super sweet and funny. Would be great to bring a group here.
google avatar

Helen V.

Yelp
The philly cheesesteak was delicious with a soft, pillowy bread and flavorful meat. The fries were crispy and wings well flavored. Service was quick and there's so much seating to choose from. On the outside patio, they had live music and it's well decorated everywhere. There's just so many flies in the inside of the area, we were constantly waving our hands to shoo them away from our food.
google avatar

Rebecca R.

Yelp
Checked out Second Rodeo Brewing on 06/28/2023 while oot for business & I have to say it was such a cool & chill place. I really enjoyed myself! Despite the scorching Texas heat, it was very cool indoors & there was live music on the evening I stopped by. This was plenty of seating located outside & indoors. I definitely would recommend this spot for anyone in the area. Till next time, Rebecca

Yelp
Stopped in for a couple of beers and to check place out. Parking is crazy, especially when you arrive when the cattle drive is happening. Oh well, it added to the fun. Nice selection of beers, good entertainment, and great people watching.
google avatar

Tom G.

Yelp
Ample space inside and large covered beer garden in the back. Very good drinks at the bar, simple but adequate food service. Just off the main drag, a good place to rest after shopping.
google avatar

Jerrica C.

Yelp
This was such a fun place to visit. We went here with girlfriends and watched a few artists play music, we had such a good time. The atmosphere is laid back. It was very crowded but it is worth waiting for a seat in the courtyard. This was our favorite place at The Stockyards by far.
google avatar

Martin K.

Yelp
Chill place in the Stockyards with a nice outdoor, covered "outdoor" and indoor space. It is self-serve and offers food similar to Truck Yard (which this is affiliated with) and great beers by Dennis Wehrmann, the former owner of Franconia brewing and the brains behind Beard Science and now this place. Those two factors together make sure there's a good time to be had!
google avatar

Chris B.

Yelp
On the Stockyard district. Fun place to grab a drink, sit inside or in the inside patio or the outside patio. Sit and listen to some fine music.
google avatar

James H.

Yelp
Fun experience here! Just came by for a few quick drinks after walking around the Stockyards. The venue itself has an indoor section which has a bit of a darker ambiance. In contrast, there is an indoor/outdoor sitting area which brings in a lot of natural light. We decided to sit outside since it felt more spacious and inviting. Fans are on spread across to keep air circulating. There's also a food window where you can get food to snack on. The drink menu had a lot of great options and they come in a 16 oz. cup. There was live music which makes it a great place to come and just have a few drinks. Overall, a great place to stop by if you're visiting the stockyards. Definitely want to come here again and try some of their other cocktails and maybe some wings.
google avatar

Melanie B.

Yelp
We watched the cattle drive on a very hot day and needed to cool down a bit, so we went to Second Rodeo Brewing! We all had beers or something from the cocktail menu. I don't drink beer and am not sure how good the selection was. I did enjoy my cocktail though! There was no table service. We grabbed a table and ordered and paid at the bar. There's a cool vibe. We weren't there long but everything was fine while we were there!
google avatar

Nathan Z.

Yelp
Visually stimulating decor and live music make a great place to meet up. We didn't eat but the beer selection was solid. The Roll Dog Amber was a great balance of malty sweetness and hoppy bitter. Not to heavy on a hot day, just right. It was hot that day and swamp coolers were cranking in the backyard. It made it a little loud but there was room to get away from them. Great service at the bar and credit cards only is plus.
google avatar

Melanie R.

Yelp
In line before they closed and they wouldn't take our order. They told us "systems were shut down" but we had a friend at the window next to it and they let her order. I let them know they allowed her to order and they slammed the glass.
google avatar

Lauren W.

Yelp
Super cute funky spot here in the stockyards. Live music on the weekends. Trendy with a lot of spunk. Lots of seating area for you to enjoy the one of many drinks that they have on tap! Very friendly bartenders and quick! Stop by if you're in the area.
google avatar

Hillary R.

Yelp
Great atmosphere! We didn't get any food but it sure looked good. Band was really nice. We had a great time just hanging out side with a few drinks by the river
google avatar

Steve S.

Yelp
While visiting Texas with some friends, we stopped by this brewery to have some beers and hang out. This was a very chill spot. I really enjoyed all of the beers that I tried. My favorite ones were the Big Buckle IPA and their Oktoberfest. However, every beer we tried was delicious. We had a blast hanging out here for a few hours.
google avatar

Daniel K.

Yelp
A fun micro pub experience. Good beer options. Food choices were limited but what was on offer was good and came out fast, at reasonable prices. Cool pics on walls. Live music. Kid friendly. Service was friendly and efficient. A joint worth checking out.
google avatar

Heidi M.

Yelp
Love this spot! We stopped in for some wings and drinks. Had a great time! They have live music! The atmosphere is fun! You get all kinds of people, locals and tourist. Super close to the cattle drive walk. Which start promptly 1130 and 4 (weather permitting). But make sure you're on time because it the entire thing only last a couple minutes. You're allowed to take drinks out and walk around. I recommend parking at the hotel nearby, it's only a few bucks and definitely worth it unless you enjoy driving around searching for a parking spot:(
google avatar

Gerald G.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place. We could have sat here all day. They had great drinks, live band and food looked amazing. Our bartenders were super fast, friendly and knowledgeable. We will be back for a Second Rodeo!

Ash J.

Yelp
Love this place! It's so much fun! Great atmosphere, so many options for cold drinks, and live music! What else could you ask for!? Also love that you can walk down to the river.
