What's the secret about this restaurant one might ask. Well the answer might be simpler than what you expect and that is tradition. Just like the saying old habits die hard and so are old taste palate. There is nothing secret about this restaurant as the name would suggest. There is no giant neon signs hanging in front of the store, no cute servers dressed in cosplay to take your orders, no high tech tablets for you to flick through to order, no exciting live performance, no fancy and exquisite looking tableware and utensils, and definitely no futuristic robots to deliver your food to your table. What this restaurant has is plain and simple tradition. Like its Chinese name "Fabulous Cantonese", the simple decor, old laminated stlye menu, easy going but attentive services, and the delicious traditional Cantonese dishes are just fabulous. Nothing fancy but unpretentious, you get what you pay for delicious traditional Chinese food, which beats all those fusion or new style of cooking. This is where you will find old tastes that are diminishing from Chinatown and Flushing. We came on a Monday night, the 6 of us men in their 40s. We had ordered like a feast including soup, pork chops, lobster with noodles, steak, house chicken, clams, and house special stir fry. My personal favorite is the beef soup. And the bill at the end was fabulous, averaging $40 including tips per person, note that the lobster was on special, 2 for $40.
So if you are tired of the fancy, expensive way of dining these days then come and give thus restaurant a try.
