"Tiki culture is on full display at Secret Tiki Temple. The speakeasy tiki bar is steeped in Jacksonville lore, with patrons often not able to find the entrance that’s behind a door in a Chinese restaurant, and a password is required for entry. Getting reservations for the bar can be challenging, but they are required for entry, so be sure to snag one before attempting to go with your friends. Once inside, the tiki feel is heightened with wall-to-wall decor, drinks that are on fire, and a lively atmosphere. The drinks are strong, though the bar staff rarely shares ingredients unless a guest specifically asks for them. The food here is Chinese appetizers like spring rolls, dumplings, and Spam fried rice served in a Spam can, but they are worth getting, if not just to soak up the rum in most of the drinks." - Megan duBois

"Each weekday Secret Tiki Temple hosts happy hour from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. with plenty of strong, rum-based drinks filling the menu. Those who want to enjoy a libation will need to make a reservation to get into the small bar and restaurant, and will need to know the password to get into the pseudo speakeasy. It’s purposely hard to find because its location really is a secret but here’s a hint: try finding Pagoda Restaurant on Baymeadows Road." - Megan duBois

What a cool spot! Service was great and the food was awesome. I’m originally from Rhode Island and it’s the first time I found Chinese cuisine that was similar to back in New England! Their fried rice is fantastic. Atmosphere is such a cool Polynesian vibe. Also their drinks are on point! Definitely will be back.

Truly enjoyed our early dinner at this cozy place. We sat at the Elvis Cove - couch seating which fits 4-6 people. We ordered 2 pork fried rice, spam fried rice, salt and pepper shrimp, salt and pepper squid, spring rolls, and ribs. It’s tapas style, but our orders were enough for four people. Everything was delicious even our cocktails. Great service too. Each reservation is allowed two hours and time flew by especially in our comfy section. Give Secret Tiki Temple a visit if you haven’t already. Reservations required.

Went here for an early Valentines date. Had great drinks and great food. Smaller menu than the restaurant, but it is definitely worth it. Amy was our bartender, and she was great. Also got to chat with the operations manager Tommy, and he was so friendly and fun. You need a reservation, and they send you a password. So make sure you plan in advance.

Atmosphere is decorated Polynesian tiki style with Asian inspiration everywhere you look, so unique and cozy. The lighting is dimmer for the perfect ambience. Make sure to get a reservation for the Tiger or Elvis room. In there you can sit on comfortable couches and have your own bungalow space for privacy with your guests. Otherwise they also have a big tiki bar and regular tables if your wanting that option as well. Owner is very nice and is passionate about his business. Highly recommend for a Birthday spot!

Somewhere in Jacksonville, Florida, within the walls of this abandoned looking building is a pretty amazing experience. You enter the main doors and speak with the host. You are escorted through a back set of doors into this amazing tiki bar. It's a random display of various objects, and it's just amazing!!! The people here are beyond welcoming, friendly, and just incredibly amazing!!! The food here is delicious! As of this review, the drink program is in the process of being revamped. I believe my party was the first to experience the upcoming beverages, thus, a sneak peek into the future! The drinks we had were amazing! A mixology approach was taken in their preparation, and you could definitely see and taste it. I had a Navy Grog, which is my go-to at a tiki bar, very, very delicious!!! I am definitely looking forward to seeing what becomes of the revamped cocktail menu. From my point of view, there is only UP!!! The food here is really good, so why go elsewhere? You should check out the main dining room at some point. The tiki bar is reservations only, and you are allotted a 2 hour limit. It can fill up rather quickly, as it is a somewhat small setting, but incredible and fun! This is one of those spots you should definitely check out! Tiki enthusiasts, this location is a definite must!

I cannot say enough about how much we all LOVE this place. We absolutely loved the waitress, the bartenders, and the manager. What a treat! Everyone was so nice. But the food was amazing! You can't find good authentic food like this anymore!

Google

Love, love, love this place. We had a Girls Night Out here a few weeks ago. We had a short wait and had an excellent hostess. We were seated with The King. It was such an intimate little place. The food was so good and the drinks were delicious. We cannot wait to go back.

Yelp
* Business is closed * Very fun atmosphere! They work hard to make sure that everyone is having a good time. The drinks... The drinks!! Elaborate, large, and FUN! I saw recently (4/2024) they are closing the Chinese restaurant and the Tikki Temple. It was a long time business, and will be missed!

Yelp
Wow, what an incredible experience! I had a blast trying out the ever-changing menu at this spot. You're in for a surprise every time you visit! The food and drinks were top-notch and the staff was lightning-fast and super friendly. The Secret Temple is full of hidden gems just waiting to be discovered. But be warned - you'll need to make reservations well in advance and have the secret password to get in. It's all part of the fun! It's a fun vibe with a low light atmosphere, perfect for feeling like you are in a Secret Temple!

Yelp
Had a reservation a head of time but the hostess said we didn't have me down. How long are you planning on staying" after waiting 45 min in thre waiting room." Asked for something with the Lua Lads Faleium the server looked bewildered the asked for a Mai Tai off the menu. 3 min later the host came over and asked if "anyone offered me anything" after I had spoken and ordered my drink from the server. Then my server came back asking for my order I repled with a few suggestions then asked what she recommended she affirmed what I had ordered. I got the crab rangoon and the pan fried pork dumplings then one min later the server came back after not writing anything down if my "dumplings were pork or chicken." Great concept but terrible service staff and customer service. I looks like though the original restaurant has our door seating but I'm not sure if that pertains to the Secret tili Temple or the Pagoda The food came out rather quickly even though I asked if they had apps and courses the server said they were all apps ok? Then after talking to the table next to me they suggested the Spring Rolls and Shrimp Fried Rice, I ordered accordingly Previously I ordered a Hawaii Five O cocktail.Overall Great Concept and Word of mouth marketing to get me here The service is lacking it appears that the host is the only person bussing tables. After talking to the friends I made at the bar they have a secret bar menu and the "Bali Banana" was recommend. They have cocktails that are served in SPAM Containers!!?? Hmmm interesting It was hard to get the servers attention, definitely worth the time and $$$ again you have the TIME TO WAIT again it must make reference to ISLAND TIME!

Yelp
This place is so kitschy and unique! There's something in every corner- from Elvis memorabilia to parrots and monkeys and lots of hula girls. It's completely dedicated to tiki culture- there's even 1960's movies playing on TV. When it comes to drinks, I haven't had any here that I didn't like but my favorites are the horny panda, peacock punch, and Buddha bomb. The servers are great though and they're used to getting lots of questions, so you could always let them know what you like and they'll make suggestions. When it comes to the reservations, it's a really small place so YES, you need them and you also definitely need the password- they won't let you in without it.

Yelp
This was definitely an interesting experience. We parked in the back and when we found the door to go in, the guy at the desk acted as though he was unaware of reservation. It then occurred to me that we had to provide the password that was texted ahead of time. We were given a brief spiel about the place before we were seated. The dining area is small. There are several tables and chairs, in addition to a few seating alcoves which were occupied by groups. There were two waiters and one runner on the night of our visit for about six tables and two groups. Our waiter came over to get our drink order, and then asked about our food order. He returned with paper and pen to take our order again as what he recited wasn't correct. The drinks - doppelgänger delight, harbor lite, and virgin pina colada - came out pretty quickly. We both agreed that they were good. The food, however, came out in a piecemeal fashion, and it was just OK. We got spam fried rice, barbecue spare ribs, chicken egg rolls, and char sui bbq pork baos. The fried rice was probably the best dish of the ones we tried. The ribs were cold and the eggroll dipping sauce was a bit odd in flavor. The baos never came and we suspected that they went to a different table as the people sitting there looked confused when the baos arrived. One concern we had was the cleanliness of the place and of the dishes. When they brought us small plates, the first one had a significant amount of food caked in the middle of it and my fork also had food stuck to it. I cringed thinking about what may have been in the spam container from prior patrons. The place is kind of dark, so it was hard to really see our surroundings, but the cleanliness could be improved. Overall, this was a cool place to check out once. We assumed that the place is known for the drinks and unique nature of it and probably not the food or service. The people who worked there were all very nice. We appreciated that they took the food that never came and the cold food off of our bill.

Yelp
This is one of the cutest speakeasy's that I've been to. The whole place is decked out in Hawaiian decor and it is the perfect atmosphere for some late night drinks. The drinks are nicely organized on the menu in different levels, from light to stronger. They have really unique drink options and delicious Mai Tai's. The drinks also came pretty quick! The food is kind of mid but I'd just come for the drinks and the good vibes. Keep in mind you do need a reservation and they'll ask you for the password that they text you!

Yelp
I've been dying to try this spot and I finally got the chance to try it. Let me start off by saying it was well worth the wait. And in all honestly, I will definitely be a returning customer and absolutely will bring more people with me next time and the time after that. First let me start off with the entrance, and the fact that you have a secret password to actually get in through the door. I thought that was super cool and clever. They call it the "Secret Tiki Temple" for a reason and it lived up to its name. The host we met at the door was awesome and played the part of keeping it a secret and didn't let us by u til we said the secret password. After that we continued into the secret tiki temple to sit down at our table and met our waiter. We had our waiter named "Tiki Jesus" if you meet him you will know why. But Tiki Jesus was awesome and was very knowledgeable in helping us in our first of many visit. Now to the food which was OUTSTANDING! It's not like any restaurant, it's only appetizers but I must say the list of appetizers is pretty long with a lot of really good choices. Go check out my pictures because everything was flavorful and my compliments to the Chef. Their House special fried rice was the best rice I've ever tasted. The BBQ pork slices were to die for with their sauce was orgasmic. The chicken steamed dumplings were soft and very juices dipping it into the side sauce that they give. Lastly, the crab rangoons were fried to perfection and the inside of them with the cream cheese and crab meat followed by the scallions or onion or garlic flavor gave me a Foodgasm. Now I couldn't keep going on this review without bringing up the drinks. They have a menu of drinks with three parts to it. On the menu it reads Mild, Medium, and strong and in each of those sections a variety of very well put together mixes drinks that all you want to do is keep ordering one after the other. I don't have a picture of the drinks we had because we were to busy enjoying them. But I had what was called a "Buddha Bomb" and my date had "Bird in Paradise". They were deliciously mixed and very tasty! The ambiance of the place was fantastic and very vibrant from the waiter and waitresses to the whole decor of the place. All in all I can continue for days of my experience of this establishment but I will leave you with this. And that it please go check this place out you will love it and I highly doubt you'll be disappointed.

Yelp
Always a great experience at Secret Tiki temple! I've been at least 3 times and always had great service & drinks, and I absolutely LOVE all the tiki decor. All the reviews are true- u must make a reservation in advance, the drinks are complex and take a little time to make, and your seating is only for 2 hours. But I assure you the drinks & vibe are all worth it. Out of every drink I tried recently, the puka puka punch was my absolute favorite. I thought it was so tasty and flavorful, without being too syrupy or sour. Def well balanced and complex. Clearly made by a mixologist who knows what they are doing lol! All my friends loved their drinks too. Just converse with you server, tell them your likes and dislikes and they'll surprise you with a wonderful treat!

Yelp
My third visit to Secret Tiki. It's such a fun place for celebrations and outta town guest! I have to say this visit was a bit disappointing. The service was not up to par as I had experienced previously. I want to be very clear the bartenders, food runners and host exceeded expectations. I am talking server. Last night we had a female server. She was polite but never on point. We ordered our drinks and some snacks to start. Drinks delivered but we failed to receive plates napkins or eating utensils. Food delivered by a female runner dropped at the table and off she goes. We stopped what appeared to be a busboy and asked for plates and utensils as our waitress was no where to be found. Poor kid he was gone for what seemed like forever and finally returned with plate and fork. No spoon for the fried rice and no way to cut the duck apart. Finally she returns and we order another round of their deliciousness in magical glasses. They were served by a guy working the bar front. Again waitress no where to be seen. My son decides he just can't leave without trying one more Tiki Cocktail. We caught her attention ordered and asked for the check. Again delivered by runner at bar. We got our drink but no check. We sit and sit waiting and looking for our waitress. I finally had to get up find her to get our check. The food and drinks were outstanding. While the other staff seemed on point an oh so attentive we just did not receive the service I had experienced on days gone by.

Yelp
I wanted to love this place. It's been on my list to try for almost a year now. My friend wanted to go here for her bday and it was an interesting experience. You must have a reservation and you get a password to tell the host once you arrive, which is cute. We got sat immediately but waited 20 min for anyone to come over. This rubbed me the wrong way: as a server myself, at least come by and say hey I'll be with you when I can. Nothing. Eventually we got our orders taken. Drinks came out staggered over the next 15 min. They claimed they were going to be aggressively strong. They were not. The food was very below average. Im honestly confused by the reviews that say it is good. Hands down the worst crab wontons I've ever had. Pork bao buns, awful. Spring rolls, ok. Duck... extremely salty. Service was pretty bad. Thankful for the free drink for the birthday girl. We still had fun, but all left wanting for more food wise and hated waiting over 20 min for any drink order. I think a one and done for me.

Andy L.

Yelp
Read and follow the instructions. Excellent speakeasy without being over done. Drinks take some time but excellent. Food was ok, Spam Fried Rice was fun and delicious, BBQ pork was salty. Servers were on point and attentive. Ambiance was kitschy and fun.

Michelle D.

Yelp
Found this place from another chatter (which means I can't remember lol). When I mentioned going at work, my alchy co worker put her stamp on the panda drink saying she blacked out, but she thinks she had fun. I was nervous bc my friend was running late in traffic. The host walked me back and said as long as they come before 15 mins of the appt. The fried rice was great, but the drinks are greater. The reservation process was easy, but make sure you let them know if you need to cancel 24hrs in advance. We ordered the wings, crab ragoon.

Yelp
It was my birthday weekend and was anticipating a night out at the secret Tiki temple. They forgot my birthday. However, the food, drink and decor made up for their forgetfulness. What can I say about this restaurant but stupendous. The wait staff was on point and the drinks were killer. What a wonderful night. My birthday dessert was a drink in a spam can. What drink. Thank you Secret Tiki temple for making my weekend so memorable!

Tish C.

Yelp
We've driven, chatted about and finally made our way to this secret gem. Our friends went the week before for a birthday celebration and gave us the skinny on what to expect. We were greeted by a lovely host who proceeded to sing with my wife which was the highlight of the experience. If you go only for a drink you will be HAPPY. The cocktail menu is split into three categories -- mild, medium and OMG you're drunk. We ordered apps and drinks -- service was impeccable and the drinks were excellent. The food was ok, but I was hoping for more on menu. There are a ton of small plate items and if you enjoy Spam, this is your place. I'm looking to go again and sit in the area with the private couches for the ambiance.

Scott L.

Yelp
I finally had a chance to get back to my absolute favorite bar in Jax and as always it was fantastic. I brought a group of friends together to celebrate and everyone loved it. I don't think anyone stopped smiling the entire time. As we had a large group, we were given a private waiting area in the newly renovated front room which made my two Hawaiian friends immediately comment that the decor reminded them of being back in the islands. The drinks and food were amazing. I think as a group we ordered everything on the menu...drinks and food and loved it all. We had so much fun it looks like we are going to plan an end of the year party with them and reserve the entire place. Mahalo kūikawā to Tiki Tommy and all his staff. If we could give them double stars we would. Note for anyone who has never been to the escapist paradise, you must make a reservation and of course, know the password to get in.

Katheryn L.

Yelp
3.5 stars, but rounding up to 4 We came in as a 5:30pm reservation on a Friday evening for a girls holiday happy hour. When making the reservation, they are clear that there is a 2 hour max and provide you with the secret passcode which is required for entry. The interior seems pretty small, but surprisingly can comfortably fit a decent amount of people without ever really feeling packed, and is decorated with a cool retro east meets west vibe. Once we were seated, we were provided with a drink menu, as well as a small bites food menu. Unfortunately, the drink menu doesn't really give you any kind of deciphering information as to what you are ordering. After asking our server, there were only 2 vodka drinks on the menu, and both seemed pretty sweet, so I ended up just ordering a Tito's and water. One of our table mates tried ordering an espresso martini and was told that they won't really make anything off the menu unless it was something simple like my order, which is just something else to note. After what seemed like ages, our drinks finally arrived. We found that most of the menu cocktails are pretty sweet, which some of the girls really enjoyed, but it's just not my thing. We ordered some small bites and everything ordered was pretty good. Zero complains in the food department, but that's not surprising as we have always been a fan of the restaurant on the other side. I ordered the bbq pork and salt and pepper squid, both of which I really enjoyed Our experience wasn't terrible, but it also wasn't really anything to write home about. The amount of time it took for the drinks to come out was pretty excessive considering there is a 2 hour max for the table reservation. No joke, we literally waited about 30-45 min to get the first round, but I would be willing to give it another try in hopes that it was just a one time fluke.

Yelp
I FINALLY made it to the Secret Tiki Temple and has the best time. Before heading there you must make a reservation! It's a pretty small lounge with limited seating. You also need a password to get in so be sure to check you confirmation text/email before heading there. The service we received was amazing. The drink menu is a blast because none of the drinks tell you what's inside them. We had fun telling our server what type of alcohol we liked and then having her make a recommendation for us. The drinks we had were delicious as was the food. I tried the chicken fried rice while I was there and loved it! This is a great spot for a night out with friends or a date night grabbing drinks. I highly recommend everyone to check it out!

Daiana V.

Yelp
Such a cool place. From the moment you walk in to the little introduction that the hostess gives you, it is definitely an experience. We didn't have a reservation and it was an hour to closing time, but they allowed us in. Kitchen was already closed so we could only have drinks. The drinks were pretty strong, but the menu does not actual reveal the recipe, it is very vague. But drinks were yummy so, that's what matters lol. I can't wait to go back!! I can't remember his name that gave us the intro, but he is amazing!! Oh and the free shots before ordering were appreciated.

Kris F.

Yelp
We were excited to try this establishment. We had reservations at the Tiki lounge, first, and then at the restaurant later. It is not as advertised. I don't know how they get this rating unless it's somehow paid for. It was a horrible experience all the way around. The lounge advertises the drinks as being so strong that you could only order one. They were the worst drinks with no alcohol at all. They advertise not telling you what the ingredients are, because they're so specialized and they have so many different ingredients but really, they're nothing but froth with no alcohol. I am curious what is really in them? It's kind of scary. The ambience is nice but it's dirty.

D'onica S.

Yelp
Upon reading the reviews I've come to understand this place is password only. It would've been simple for the host to share that information instead of being a complete JERK! First of all, is this place even open? The gentleman at the entrance, wearing a red and white trucker hat with shaggy brown hair and a beard, did not greet me when I walked in. Whoever he is, he should be fired immediately. His sour attitude was unnecessary i would never step foot back into this place because of it . I asked if there was a bar, but he just looked at me as if I was stupid and stayed silent. So, obviously, I didn't receive an answer. I look around to make sure im in the right establishment. Imagine walking into a restaurant and the hostess look at you as if you aren't suppose to be there. . After staring at me like I was an idiot, he boldly looked me in the face and said "there were no more reservations available."But I never asked for general seating, I clearly asked for THE BAR! The place was almost silent and nobody seemed interested in helping me, so I left. Clearly, my business wasn't welcomed there. That's my experience! By the way, there was absolutely nothing wrong with my attire for them to deny me. I guess the guy just wanted to be creep for today.

Linda G.

Yelp
I'm so glad I found out about this place via Yelp! A super cool tiki bar in Jacksonville- super fun for a special occasion, a date night or just a girls night. They serve fancy (pricey) alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks, plus a pretty wide selection of appetizers. There are regular tables and three little lounge-type seating areas. Two of the lounge areas are for groups of 6-8, and one is a cozy spot for a couple. For larger groups, they automatically include 20% tip, but the service was good, so no big deal. The outside looks a little worn down, but that just adds to the secret factor!

Lindsey F.

Yelp
If you're looking for a fun and unique experience look no further! I've been twice and both times have been nothing short of amazing. You start off by having to give the host the password, which you are given the day before. The staff, the drinks, the food, and the vibes are all top notch and you're guaranteed to have a great night. One of the times we booked the Elvis Cove and it was such a fun ode to The King. When you enter the tiki temple, you are greeted by a multitude of colored lights and umbrellas hanging from the ceiling which makes it an inviting first impression. Here's the low down on the drinks--you don't know what you're going to get! Each drink has a description on the flavors but doesn't tell you the alcohol type or what exactly you're going to get. Now if you want to be a Karen you can tell the server what you prefer, but whats the point! They're all amazing (especially the Hawaiian Sunset) and come in fun glasses with colored bending straws. You can't forget to order some appetizers. The Xiao Long Baos (don't ask me how to pronounce them) were my favorite appetizer that we got. The dumplings, pot stickers, short ribs, fried rice, and crispy duck were all on point too. Now get your friends together and make a reservation to have a fun happy hour or post dinner drinks! Reservations are required so make sure you book ahead of time on the weekends.

Yelp
An outstanding experience! Secret Tiki Temple is tucked away in an old school style Chinese restaurant. The staff is totally into the tiki vibe and it honestly felt like we stepped into a 1950's movie. The cool owner in his Hawaiian shirt, the hipster doorman in his fedora and the host with his Dad Jokes made the experience even better. The decor was also amazing! Now the drinks- if you know tiki culture, you know they are fruity and strong. These were on point and delicious. The food was excellent and we loved the spam fried rice served in a spam can. There was no downside to this place. It was an overall great night.

Yelp
Went here with a group of about 10 for a friend's birthday. Could only get reservations for early afternoon, and they are sticklers for timing, which is understandable due to the size of the "secret" room. Theming is over-the-top, but perfect for the ambiance it creates. Our server was terrific in helping us choose our beverages. None of the drinks have descriptions, and they won't tell you what is in them, so be prepared to take their suggestions, especially if you dislike a particular kind. Everyone at the table got their own appetizer, although they do have an appetizer plate that was described only as, "will serve the whole table." It is $150, so hopefully it would serve a lot! I had the crab rangoons. Served with a sweet sauce. I did not taste crab at all, just cream cheese. They were hot and crisp on the outside, so not unpleasant, just no crab. Everyone at the table enjoyed their choices. Our birthday girl was served her drink in a spam can, and it was "lit" and sparkly. It was fun. A very fun experience, and that's why you're there. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves around us as well.

Kerri W.

Yelp
Everything was all good. You do need a password to get in to so make sure you make your reservation ahead of time. The atmosphere is very enchanting. It's dark, but at the same time it's very inviting. The platter is very very costly so you'd probably do better with ordering individual things as opposed to the platter. The drinks are a hit. They don't tell you what's in the drinks because it's a SECRET, but the bartender didn't disappoint even when we described the kind of drinks we like.

Natalie H.

Yelp
I didn't know what to expect but I was down for an experience. Well... I didn't get that. I was thinking that there would be live music and dancers due to the "secrecy" of it but no. The drinks and food were great and the prices were reasonable so I can't complain.

Henry H.

Yelp
I loved my visit to the secret tiki temple. The food and ambience were both 10/10 and the service was just as nice. Perfect spot for quick bites and drinks with friends.

Yelp
We have been trying to get a reservation here for two years! This place is always booked. Somehow on my birthday my husband was able to get a cancellation and get us in. We didn't tell anyone that It was my birthday because I'm very shy and I hate when people sing happy birthday or any extra attention so no way. When he was calling in they put us on a list Incase anyone cancels & I was telling him don't bother we aren't going to get in and 10 minutes later they called us. Best birthday gift ever! We ordered the scorpion bowl and it was by far the best scorpion bowl we have ever had. Our waitress was Lita she was so helpful & friendly she really made it fun. We got the duck (my husband loves duck) it was amazing & the spam fried rice so yummy. We ordered the crab Rangoon & calamari for appetizers. The decor here is so fun. We tried to buy the actual bowl the drink came in for memories of the fabulous birthday but sadly they don't sell them. Maybe I can order one on Amazon or something but it won't be the same. Anyone it was worth the two year wait. The food was amazing. The atmosphere was so fun. Lita was so nice she got out corny jokes. The whole staff super fun and great service . I highly recommend this this place but make your reservation well In Advance. I could not have asked for a better birthday. Thank you Secret Tiki bar people.

Katherine M.

Yelp
A hidden (literally) gem in Jacksonville. Plan to make reservations early because they book up fast. You need a password to get in and sometimes the hostess takes it seriously and plays along and sometimes not, but when you get inside, it feels like you just arrived to a bar on a tropical island. Many delicious drinks to try and a few yummy appetizers are available to choose from. If you are feeling adventurous, you can check and see if the bartender has something off menu to mix up for you.

Yelp
The service was wonderful, everyone there seemed happy to be there. The food was phenomenal and came out quick, the drinks were good as well and very strong! Although you only have a two hour limit for your table.

Yelp
The food was good, it's more of an experience...that you have to just try at least once. Nice costumer service Welcoming enough... I didn't understand having the password, it wasn't used. The drinks were great! I tried three different ones. Small cozy place once inside. Large parking.

Yelp
This place had a super cool vibe and aesthetic. The drink selection experience was super unique. The drink descriptions have nothing to do with the actual drink content. Every selection is a nice game of Russian roulette. The service is decent not extremely vigilant so a great place to enjoy drinks with a small group.

Yelp
Went on a date here with my boyfriend and it was such a cute spot! I love that it's a hidden gem and kind of exclusive. They have very limited availability and their reservations fill up fast. So plan for like 2ish weeks in advance. We shared the spam quesadilla, crab Rangoon and pork dumplings- all very tasty! I ordered their version of the Blue Hawaiian and was a little disappointed. The drink menu doesn't provide any explanation as to what is in each drink. I didn't like that. I don't want to make my server explain every cocktail. The decor is quirky. Lots of Elvis... maybe too much Elvis? It felt a little claustrophobic at times as we were sat in a back corner at a coffee table. They said it was the best table but it was honestly kind of uncomfortable.

Yelp
I'm not sure what the hype is. I mean... I loved the kitschy decor. But I've been to waaaay better tiki bars in the keys, Jax beach, Phoenix, Kauai, hawaii etc. Drinks were disappointing. Redeeming qualities were that ALL of the food was really really good. We had pot stickers, crab Rangoon, and I had the duck. The duck stole the show. But back to the bar... you have to make reservations in advance & they charge you if you no-show. Apparently, they kick you out in 2hours after your reservation starts but they were not even ready to seat us until at least 15 min after our reservation started. Service was VERY slow... we could only get 2 drinks each (only two of us) in our allotted time. And the 'secret no ingredients menu' just left me less than impressed with both my mixologists' and servers' ability to make a cocktail that I actually really enjoyed. In fact they kept referring to their secret Star Wars me it that we were never actually able to see. #WTFingPoint? I'd definitely go back for the food, which you can get in the front restaurant without all the hype, and maybe bring some tiki loving out of town guests again to the bar. But other than that, this place needs some improvements.

Yelp
Good times! You must rsvp in advance for a secret password to enter. That adds a little mystery and excitement to it all. It's dim, intimate, and over the top Hawaiian Tropical. I absolutely love themed places!! The Secret Tiki Temple is attached to another restaurant. The Tiki Temple is more of a bar/speakeasy type place. The food menu is limited, more like appetizers and things to munch on while you drink. Nothing fancy. Let's be real.. the drinks are what you're coming for! There is no description of the drinks. Your server will ask you what kind of beverages appeal to you. For example, I might have said I prefer mine more on the sweet side, and I'd like to avoid tequila today. So they bring you a cocktail suited to your preferences. And when I say they bring it to you, I mean they present it to your table followed by oohs and aahs! I don't want to give to much away! Plan your next date or get-together here. It's so much fun!

Yelp
I've been to Secret Tiki Temple a few times. It's a cool, unique experience albeit slightly frustrating they don't tell you what's in the drinks beyond the liquor. They usually tell you quickly what liquor is in each to help you choice but this time I was asked which liquor and then given two suggestions. In previous visits, with the same menu, there were at least four options. I hadn't tried the two recommended to me so I tried both. I liked the first one fine enough (Hawaii Five-O). But the second one was pushed on me, and the whole table, several times as the best seller and the one we have to try (Hawaiian Sunset) and now I know why... I stood it next to several drinks at the table and it's 1/5 of the liquid of the others. It was said to taste like Sour Patch Kids but there wasn't much taste at all. I was disappointed to order a drink close to the same price as the others ($10-$15) and have it only be a few sips, especially when I don't know what's in it. I was planning on sharing with my husband but after seeing it, it was not made to be shared. This last time there were only two bartenders. We were seated 30 minutes later than our reservation and drinks took about 20-30 minutes to come out. I know times are hard finding people so just an fyi. The restaurant is still a fun experience, I would just avoid the Hawaiian Sunset ($10) and be prepared to wait- but you'll be waiting in a fun atmosphere!

Yelp
A real treat, special friends, festive atmosphere, and energetic friendly staff. Make your reservations, as they are generally booked and don't except walk ins. Drinks are ready to set the vibe, and kick start the fun, and the food was a pleasant treat! Get your TIKI on and gather up you friends, or go on a date and people watch.... Either way it's fun.

Yelp
Ask for Jack and Cici! The atmosphere at the secret tiki temple is unmatched. It's a cute, touristy, yet nostalgic kind of atmosphere catered by bartenders that make you feel comfortable and at home. There is a particular type of atmosphere and vibe conveyed by the decor, which includes colorful umbrellas and tiki style ornaments. The real stars are the extremely pleasant bartenders, Jack and Cici, that will listen to your drink style and preferences and delegate a proper beverage for you. No ingredients are shown here, which is a part of the spontaneity and fun. I enjoyed a Hawaiian sunset and my date enjoyed a horny panda (lol). Both bartenders gave us a wonderful experience and we will definitely return. I felt at home and comfortable among our fun discussions during our time here. Definitely a lively and fun atmosphere worth checking out!

Yelp
Always a fun and unique experience here! Reservations are a must - and you can book through Yelp. Each reservation is 2 hours long. Great cocktail list, but they don't tell you what's in the drink. They've never disappointed us with what they've brought out and the servers always ask questions to help make their job of selecting the perfect cocktail for you easier (eg -- any allergies, any specific liquor preferences, sweet/sour, etc) on top of the fun atmosphere, great service and fun cocktails, we really enjoy the small plates. My faves are the wings, salt and pepper squid, char siu pork and the spam fried rice.

Yelp
We came here for my birthday dinner and had a lovely time! We had reservations for 4 of us and were seated right away. The ambiance is fabulous with tiki decor everywhere! The drinks were strong (as promised) and very tasty. The food was very salty and there were not any healthy options. A fresh spring roll or something along those lines would be nice. We had good service and they sang a fun birthday song and provided me with a cocktail in a spam can. It was a lot of fun!

Yelp
Came here with my GF's for a bday celebration and had a fabulous time!! The staff here is amazing and so accommodating. All of our secret drinks were very tasty and strong, so def a great combo!! For our reservation they tucked us away in a semi private corner w couches that could not have been more perfect. There were a ton of interesting Elvis nicnac's to look at and create convo.

Yelp
Wow- secret tiki temple was such a unique experience. Some of the food dishes that stood out to me were the xiao long baos, BBQ spare ribs and the house fried rice (mixture of seafood & meat).. The room was covered with lanterns & warm lighting making the entire place feel cozy and made me feel at ease. The drinks all came in fun/decorative cups- very on theme all with secret ingredients making it a fun surprise. The server did a good job describing the style of drink you're ordering so you can get an idea of what you're about to get. The "suffering Buddha" was similar to a mule! Overall, this was a fun experience & would highly recommend!

Yelp
Alright, I get it. The ambiance was amazing from the moment we entered, but the service our second time here was so exceptional. I fully get it. The drinks were interesting and delicious and make you want to keep ordering more. Upon leaving after our second try here, I texted my friends and told them we all are returning. This is the place to go for a special occasion, date night, or if you're bored with the same old bars you see everywhere.

Yelp
Immaculate atmosphere. Good food and amazing drinks. Service is excellent. Drinks were strong and flavorful, and the vibes were out of this world.

Yelp
What a fun birthday party! The drinks were fun but it was really hit or miss because the menu doesn't give any description of what the ingredients are. The food was yummy, we went on a day where the kitchen only serves small plates but it worked out well because we got a chance to taste a bunch of food! I was not impressed with the condition of the seating area, the couches and chairs we sat in were visibly stained and not very comfortable. I would recommend sitting at a table, they looked clean and comfortable!

Yelp
Incredible ambiance, our drinks were well balanced and the ones I asked for to be strong did NOT disappoint (call an Uber). Hope to return again if I'm back in this city! A must visit. Service was friendly and helpful.

Yelp
Ok... this is a really hard review because I have had two very different experiences here. The first time we went it was a definite 5 star experience. Our server was warm and welcoming and made some awesome food and drink recommendations. She was so friendly and took our pictures and even initiated some boomerang videos of us cheersing. We had an amazing experience and couldn't wait until our next visit. Fast forward to last night. We had 6:30 reservations and got seated at the bar which was ok. After about 15 mins there the hostess said she was going to move us to a table.... Great! At this point we still had not placed a drink order. We sat there and waited to be transferred to a table which we didn't even ask for. Finally before moving to a table someone took a drink order for us and said they could just bring the drinks out to our table. After being moved to a table and sitting there for well over 15 mins our drinks came.... Mind you this is at least 30 mins after we got seated at the bar initially. 40 mins in to our reservation we still had not seen our server or placed an order for food. I finally asked someone walking by if we could place a food order. He said he would check with our server. He went and talked to the lady who had been our server during our previous visit and then he ended up coming back and said that he would be standing in for our server to take our order. We placed an order and the food came out timely and was good. We sat with empty drinks for a really long time and finally we asked someone stopping by if we could place a drink order. The drinks came out and about 5 mins later we were told our reservation was over. This would have been totally understandable but we struggled to get people to take our orders the entire time. We felt rushed to drink our second round of drinks because our reservation was over. It was such a strange awkward experience. I still don't know who our server was but one of the ladies said that if we left her a cash tip, even a dollar she would get out of doing some side work or something. We obliged but left feeling very disappointed in our experience especially after such a good experience the time before. We will go back and give it a shot. Hopefully I can give a positive update at that time.

Yelp
Finally got a reservation trip to Hawaiian paradise thanks to the fun "speakeasy" style temple. With the secret word of the day, Zombie- who knew we would be munching on spam fried rice and the bartender special drink. Really enjoyed the decor with unique luau vibes. Bartenders were genuine and crafted the. Best. Drinks.

Yelp
I've been wanting to come to the secret teaching temple for some time. It far exceeded my expectations. The atmosphere was a total fit. The drinks are eclectic and you won't find anything like it anywhere else in Jacksonville. The food was on point and nothing like I've ever had. The staff were very accommodating, super friendly, and were always available.
