I’ve lived on Peter’s roads for decades and never went to explore these trails. I did go once to a wedding at their cabin. The trails were perfect and well kept. Loved the board walk, some with rails others without. I also liked how some trails were both board walk and mulch trail on and off. Loved taking the kids with their scooters. They had a blast. I loved how all of the trails were shaded. I loved the swampy areas. The manatee overlook is still under construction and I would really like to go back once it’s complete. I did all of the trails and it took about one hour. They also had an area blocked off in the parking lot with a kids play area , restrooms , shade and water.

Secret Woods is a hidden gem! This pleasant little spot is teeming with wildlife, and the elevated wooden trails make it easy to explore and observe the natural beauty around you. The trails provide a great vantage point for spotting birds, and other wildlife. If you're looking for a peaceful and scenic spot to connect with nature, Secret Woods is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommend!

My kids, my best friend, her husband & I went walking on the trail here. It was my second time walking for more than 30 mins in Florida. And this I must say was a very good exercise and trail. We saw lots of varieties of crabs, birds, spiders, and plants. My family and I enjoyed this nature walk. It was clean and quiet. I took a few pictures while walking. I must say it was definitely peaceful, relaxing and calming to be on this trail.

This was such a breath, fresh air in the middle of busy Fort Lauderdale. I can’t believe that I’ve been to the hotel near this place three times before I realized it was here. The boardwalk is fabulous. And the trails are decently maintained. Right now, they have a couple of areas blocked off or closed, some for repairs and part of the boardwalk trail near the river, While they are installing a manatee observation deck. This whole time I walked and wandered the premises. I probably wandered for like an hour and a half or something I had a smile plastered on my face. This is a wonderful place to go. If you are needing to take a break, it was relatively quiet, and not very busy. It would be also a nice place to go if you had a short break at the airport or something or needed to relax after being at the airport or before going to the airport because it’s only about 10 minutes away. Do be careful the raccoons are pretty brazen.

Google
If you are a loud person- please don't go there. It's a nature walk, not a phone call/story tell walk... i really enjoyed the walk. I got to see different critters, including different birds, different crabs, a racoon sleeping on top of the palm tree 🌴

Google
Underrated date spot! They even have this scavenger hunts to play during the trail. I love it. Didn’t see any raccoons today 12pm

Small but oh so beautiful! Shaded and perfect to get your steps in while enjoying the views.

Yelp
A Broward County public park open daily 9am - 5pm (dont be late to exit or you will be locked inside overnight). Plenty of parking and heavy foliage hiking trails with blacktop walking areas too. The security alerts are posted everywhere, "Park Under Video Surveillance", "Lock Your Vehicles", "Park At Own Risk", which actually brings a heighten safety concern for me as I sip my coffee in a secluded area. No pets are permitted on nature center grounds - assume since wildlife may devour a small dog, not sure. Other signs advise pets permitted by park permit only, but does not indicate on the posts about service dogs - kind of confusing. They provide guided nature walks through the park which seems like a fun tranquil activity for people with good knees and a decent pair of binoculars. The far west side of the park provides beautiful views of the New River and small critters like crabs along the waters edge.

Yelp
It was a nice walk and saw two bird, lots of lizards are crabs. We had hoped to see more wildlife.
google avatar

Yelp
Small but very cool, so a couple lizards and some birds, for the middle of Broward, surprisingly a lot of green space.

Yelp
Great place to enjoy nature in Hollywood. It's a small preserve compared to what I am used to visiting, but it packs a punch. Nicely laid out nature trails with great informative signs along the way. The trails are smooth and cut decently to allow walkers a great view of nature. Unfortunately while we were there the manatee experience was closed for repairs. They had an educational center for the kids, that my daughter enjoyed.
google avatar

Michael B.

Yelp
This secret wood natures center is 67 area nature hike right off a highway that any age would enjoy. The pollinator garden is closed except for private events. This may increase private event business. The Manatee viewing point is out until late summer 2023, but most of the two trails that lead up to it were open. You just couldn't see the river clearly. It was also dry season so most of the water receded, showing black peat. There is a nature class room and center for kids to enjoy. Throughout are pictures of species to find. I spotted mangroves, squirrels, raccoons, white ibis, a fiddler crab, and some insects burrowing. The park is open 9-5pm everyday. And it is free!

Yelp
A cute and decent nature park. We enjoyed our time there. A nice organized park with pleasant walking platforms to be at one with nature. To be noted the restrooms were very clean and quite homely, especially for a park. Worthy of a visit if you are in the zone.
google avatar

Yelp
Secret Woods is another wonderful park that I enjoyed exploring. Very educational too as you get to learn about the land and the natives that used to live in the area. An amazing experience for those that want to learn a bit of history and if you love being one with nature this is the right park for you. I got to witness the remnants of a wedding ceremony and how neat the area was laid out for the lucky bride and groom. Surprisingly enough I came here one after there was heavy rain activity and I found the flooded grounds more amazing than my second encounter were there humid and dry. Still worth a shot if you are an adventurer like me!

Yelp
This park is amazing! It has several shaded paths. The scenery is beautiful. One path leads to a children's play area. They also have an information desk and a kid friendly learning center with lots of toys Twice a month they have children's programs. I've only participated in Nature Tots, but it's fab. The program cost $5 and is an hour long. Each month is a difference theme. For example, worms, bats, and rocks. We really enjoy our time at this park.

Yelp
Who would believe there's a hiking trail and nature preserve just a few miles from the Fort Lauderdale airport? There's a reason it's called Secret Woods and this hidden gem is worth the visit. Located right off State Road 84 in Davie you can still hear the planes in the air but once you start walking the trail all that sound evaporates. You are surrounded by beautiful mangroves and flora and fauna as you walk above the wetlands. There are paved paths and raised boardwalks, so this is very safe for children and the elderly. On the day I was there, one of the trails was closed since it was flooded but the signage was wonderful. The trail I took was a nice way to escape reality for an hour or so. It takes you through beautiful tall cypress trees and there are signs for wildlife spotting and what you may see on your venture. My favorite part of the trail comes up on you, just as you forget how close you are to an urban area. Just as you begin to get lost in the nature, you come to an area directly on the water with some of the biggest, most beautiful yachts around. Luckily there's a bench and you can dream of boarding one of those beauties! This is such a nice surprise. There is no charge for admission and it's open every day from 9-5. Bring a picnic lunch there are picnic tables and benches along the trails. They do have a nature center, but it's closed during Covid. I didn't see any employees on my visit, but they must be around since the restrooms were the cleanest

Yelp
7 months later, my 18mon old is old enough to explore the nature center and she LOVED it! It felt great to encourage her to open drawers and push all the buttons to see things light up. The etching/coloring station was a big hit, as were the gears you turn to see the butterflies flap their wings. I'm so glad we brought her back when she was old enough to interact with the exhibits. We spent about an hour inside on a weekday and there were only two other families that we saw. Would definitely go back - there are so many things for her to touch/feel/explore. Watch out for spider webs on the trails - especially if you're the first one on the trail in the morning. We unfortunately walked through several without seeing them!!

Yelp
What a perfect place to go and clear my mind and enjoy the fresh air. The trails are so serene and beautiful. There's 2 trails: new river trial and laurel oak trial (both trial together were under a mile). Easy short hike, one trail with hard planking and one with wood chips. Also, along the trails there are plenty of benches to sit down. The restroom is nearby the nature center, and I must say it's extremely clean and nice (best restroom I've seen in a park). The entrance is free and as well as the parking. I can't wait to come back for another walk. I truly recommend this place for all ages.

Yelp
This is a small nature center, but has 2 trails that give you the opportunity to connect with nature and get to see some of our local birds (like herons, ibis, ospreys and other hawks) and some small wild animals like possums, squirrels and raccoons. The trails are very well kept, and they have plenty of sitting areas all along the way. One of the trails takes you to the canal/river and has a comfortable lookout area with nice views of the water. The center also has a butterfly garden and a reptile habitat, and the whole center sits in an area of about 57 acres. One other nice feature about this place is the indoor area available for rent for private events. There is also an indoor nature center with knowledgeable staff at hand to answer your questions. Good place for kids.

Yelp
Secret Woods Nature Center is always my favorite place to commune with nature. When my daughter was little I would hang her little magnifying glass on the leather shoelace around her neck and we would scour through the woods in search of spiders, butterflies, worms, caterpillars and more. We always carry binoculars for birding. Our favorite time of year in Florida is winter. My Aunt and Uncle would visit from Connecticut. We always had to visit Secret Woods. They naturally knew the names of the birds and plants. My Uncle took a lot of photos. It will always be just Secret Woods to me. We stay out on the trails and paths exploring. Although the most fulfilling experiences I have had at Secret Woods are the ones with children and family, I still return over and over as an adult every opportunity. This place has a peaceful serenity I don't find at other Nature Parks. Its an escape from the typical tourist atmosphere in South Florida. It's always clean and well maintained. It's definitely a special place to me.

Yelp
Part of me didn't want to write this review so that this place can remain a hidden gem! What a fun, cool spot for nature and animal lovers! My seven year old and I went and had a great time. They have a couple different trails, but both of them are short and very manageable no matter your age or activity level. We saw several raccoons, hundreds of crabs, squirrels, butterflies, birds, and lots and lots of spiders! If you have arachnophobia, this probably isn't the place for you! They are all over and you have to watch where you walk or you could literally walk right into one at times! We went on a weekend and there were very few visitors, which was refreshing since everything is crowded in South Florida! Lastly, this place wins for prettiest and cleanest public bathrooms!

Yelp
Loved it! I'm from California so I'm used to different plant life and I loved seeing all of the beautiful trees and plant life here in Florida. I only saw a few birds flying overhead and a couple of squirrels, it's late January and was a bit of a grey, chilly day so I didn't expect a lot of wildlife. I still very much enjoyed my time here and all the trails!

Yelp
Spectacular hidden gem, with many live creature scurrying around. Gorgeous butterflies fluttering around. Small fiddle crabs all over the place, like a scene out of a cartoon. Magical trials with much to see and explore. Can't wait to return and go back to this welcoming park.

Yelp
I passed by this center the other day on my way to the beach and while I didn't have time to stop I made a mental note to come back. This afternoon my daughter and I were able to stop by for a brief visit. A little history of Secret Woods. It was Browards first nature center and was opened in 1978. A bunch of people who loved the area got together and saved 30 acres from being developed into a marina. Through the years Broward County has added to the parcel so that it is now 57 acres. The park runs along the new river and consists of three distinct areas, a cypress/maple wetland, a mangrove grove along the river, and, a laurel oak hammock. Secret Woods has two main trails. The Laurel Oak Trail takes you through the hardwood hammock, through the tidal marsh and then back to the start. Along the way you will see many crabs, their holes are every where. The New River Trail is a raised boardwalk that takes you through the hard wood hammock until you reach the tidal river marsh. Along with the trails, Secret Woods has the Monarch Interpretive Center which houses various displays. Julia Hall is 2,000 plus square feet and can be rented for banquets and weddings. Butterfly Island is a small butterfly garden you can walk through. On the day we went we observed Monarch Butterflies and Zebra Longwings. In addition to the many crabs, alligators and snakes along with many other animals make their home in the park. As long as you use common sense and stay on the paths you shouldn't have any problems. There is no admission to visit Secret Woods making it an affordable outing for families and anyone who loves nature. The park is open daily from 9 to 5 pm. and the only day of the year it is closed is Christmas. You can't bring in your pets. There are always a ton of events going on in the park. You can check Broward.org and then click on Secret Woods for a complete calendar of everything that is happening at the park. I loved my visit to this beautiful spot and look forward to returning when I have more time to explore.

Yelp
We tried to visit this place one other time but it was closed at 5 pm and we missed it by a few minutes. My friends just had their wedding there yesterday and it was a beautiful venue to host an intimate wedding. There's a deck area where the reception was done, it was a beautiful December evening with trees surrounding us; so peaceful. While they were taking pictures, we got to explore the boardwalk; the woods were dense with all forms of wildlife and plant life. I liked that there were plaques telling you information about what type of plants and wildlife lived there. I was so amazed by the crabs that created burrows in the sand. There were snakes, turtles, rabbits, owls; I didn't see them but there were signs all over stating they lived there. As you walk down further, you will reach the intracoastal! There was a beautiful sunset and so many mangroves. I heard there were manatees but I didn't see any. The boardwalk was intricately built over marshes and swampland. Pro tip: wear bug spray because the mosquitoes were rampant. There were plenty of parking and trials, I didn't get to explore it all because I had heels on. If your looking for a nature day, check this place out. It's also a great place to host events!

Yelp
I've gone to Secret Woods Nature Center many times. It is one of my favorite nature centers to walk. There are two trails. One is a mulch trail and the other trail is a boardwalk that takes you through mangroves with beautiful views of the intercoastal. Very relaxing. So, as other Yelpers have stated in their reviews, there are a lot of spiders. A LOT! However; they are usually high up in the canopy of the trees. Creepy; yet, interesting. This particular day, they were spinning their webs ALLLL in my face!  Like everywhere I walked, I had to dodge walking right into a web. By the way, this is also the day that I became a HERO! I saved a very handsome guy and his adorable infant son in his stroller from strolling right into a lady finger spiderweb!  You are welcome very handsome guy with adorable little baby! Okay, so it stopped being interesting at this point and it was just creepy and disgusting! I tried both trails but couldn't walk either that day. The spiders had those trails on lock! So I go to the office and I ask the lady "What's up? Why are these sadity,  little (not really little) lady finger spiders (not their real name) coming from high on their perch and spinning their webs down low with us common folk?" So get this, there is a guy, a spider relocation guy if you will, who relocates the spider webs every morning and puts them way up in the trees so that we the people are not smacked in the face by them. Anyway, this particular day, the guy was out sick. Again I've been to this nature center many times and I've never had this problem so many blessings to the spider relocator! I learned a very valuable lesson that day. The little sadity lady finger spiders are not at all uppity. They have just been moved from the hood to the highlands! Who knew there's gentrification in nature too!  Spider relocator may you never have an ill day again in your life!

Yelp
This spot is serious a really nice secret. I would have never thought this gorgeous place would be located where it is. The walking trails are super pretty and one of them takes you out to a place you can see a possible manatee. We also saw a ton of fiddler crabs and birds.

Yelp
It's really a piece of heaven! Highly recommended to go over and spending time as it's amazing and beautiful and in winter time a little bit spooky.

Yelp
I've lived in Fort Lauderdale for all most my entire life and I cannot believe that I have never been here!! Went here today with the little one with her her scout group. We booked the class to learn about all the animals that reside at the nature center and it was so informative, interactive and the kids got to do so many fun activities. The place is absolutely beautiful and the whole place is so clean and well kept. It is free to enter and free to explore, they do offer classes that are fairly reasonable if you want to learn more or have your child participate!

Sarah L.

Yelp
Secret wood is a great nature center - definitely check it out. Manatee observation deck is being built so you can't wait a full circle in part of the trail until later in 2023

Samantha Dydo D.

Yelp
This is one of my absolute FAVORITE local park/trails. There are wooded nature trails and a trail along the New River where you can see boats passing by and beautiful waterfront homes. Additionally, there is a butterfly garden full of beautiful plants as well as an indoor nature center with animals on display and family-friendly activities for children like coloring, puzzles, blocks, etc. Although I have never been, there are also flyers for kid-friendly monthly learning and nature-appreciation events. In terms of location, it is extremely easy to access as it is just west of I-95 and close enough to downtown Fort Lauderdale without being able to hear the traffic/activity. A great place to take a quiet stroll, sit in the butterfly garden and meditate or to bask in the sun - it truly is a great secret!

Yelp
I found myself in the area with some time to kill and yelp searched the nearest park. Secret Woods came up and seemed quite nice, to my surprise- it was FREE! I must admit I was quite impressed. I felt like a tourist in my own town. The nature center was very nicely maintained with friendly staff and lots of activities for the kids. I spent an awesome afternoon! I sat in on a discussion regarding the monkey colony in Dania Beach, walked the shaded trails which were beautiful for pics and also took some time to catch up on some kindle reading by the butterfly garden. Overall, this is a great outing for anyone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city life and tap into the nature side.

Yelp
This place is GORGEOUS! One of my favorite places to go for a walk and see lots of birds & butterflies. Lots of large arachnids to see too, if you're into that...which I am not. I can't believe it 1. Is free and 2. Has incredible CLEAN bathrooms. Check it out soon if you haven't been yet!

Yelp
I had driven by Secret Woods on my way to work one day. Being new to south Florida the name itself got me interested. So I came back and explored. Wow. What a cool park and nature center. Great to explore and bring the family or friends. There is plenty of shade making it cooler on the hot summer days.

Yelp
Though communing with nature is one on my favorite as well as one of my most cherished pastimes, I hadn't been to Secret Woods (now Secret Woods Nature Center) in well over a decade (my loss) and was simply overwhelmed by how far as well as how nicely it has progressed. What was nothing but an inland tidal mash with a few dilapidated wooden walkways has been transformed into an up to date standard of the art nature learning center. Besides the peace and solace it offers the elderly, like me, it's a marvelous educational and learning center for the young. It is here, a perfect little green space situated within the seemingly unending urban sprawl of Broward County where children as well as adults have the opportunity to learn of the wildlife that once dominated the area. Being in our heritage and a part of our history, it is not to be ignored. It contains small, simple but decent halls of learning and education plus guided tours not only during set daylight hours, but also at night as much of our wildlife is nocturnal by nature. You can practically get lost in the maze of walkways, now up to date of synthetic construction as opposed to the prior creaky rotting wood ones of the past. There is Butterfly Island with special plants creating a butterfly hosting environment, an amphitheater for lectures and demonstrations plus a number of study halls, meeting halls and a building with a small, simple but regionally significant display of historical artifacts along with pictures and descriptions of various plant and animal life. The walkways are rather lengthy, but easy to navigate and fortunately well marked. Otherwise I fear I might have ended up as lost as the proverbial rat in maze which I think, from the number of vultures circling over my head (see picture), there were some high hopes that such would be the case. Considering that it is just a small local county center, which certainly can not be compared to the lavishness of National Monuments, Parks or Preserves, I can't really go Five Stars.but I can put it at a solid Four.

Yelp
Secret is right- driving by the marine/industrial area you would not guess the lovely nature trails and interpretive center that awaits within. A handful of trails wind through mangrove and cypress marshland with a variety of wildflowers, wildlife, and fungi.

Yelp
We absolutely fell in love with this place. The detailing is amazing. We threw our baby shower here and it was great! We could not be happier with how beautiful everything turned out. I would highly recommend it! They have great customer service, answered all our questions and helped out with everything we needed.

Yelp
Very nice park. Well managed with courteous staff. By the New River. Nice walkways, children playground & kids friendly nature center.

Yelp
I am a visitor to your Secret Woods Nature Centre and all the staffs were friendly and professional except the Manager- Molly whom I met on the second visit. She was constantly complaining about everything. I write reviews for Japan Travel Bureau on different forest parks, hotels and other points of interest worldwide. We are allowed to take pictures and videos but when I was just charging the dead battery on my phone, she became extremely indignant and literally lecturing me that "all the electrical sockets here are not for visitors and if you want to charge your phone, you have to go back to your hotel to charge." In the most condescending and shrill tone! I asked her what if it's an emergency? And she rebutted: "we will call 911 for you but at no time you are allowed to use the electrical sockets for charging!" I did not argue with her and unplugged my phone. It was only 2 pm but she sternly told me that the place closed at 5 pm. I told her: "Duly noted". Still at 4 pm she confronted me again and repeated herself that "we are closed at 5pm". I told her that she is repeating herself. "I just want to remind you" was all she said before she called the Police on me. I did not know what tall story she told the Police but I was not the one being rude, condescending and shrill in my demeanour?!? How ludicrous and preposterous can this be?? This is supposed to be a relaxing and happy trip and I have this woman nick picking on me and now calling the Police on me for absolutely no reason or rhyme!? This is going to look so bad on my international reviews. Also, when her staffs told me how their manager was being hard and picky on them, I did not understand. Now I do. Please do seriously look into this matter and you can even check with the Police Officer- Leon who attended to my case! Do not just take my word for it. Molly your manager definitely has issues. The Cops were so professional and couldn't fathom for their lives what has gotten to that ridiculous woman- Molly! He invited her to clarify with me but she just refused and scurried away. I can be contacted at: 9549372639. Thank you very much for your time. Your extremely disgusted visitor, Eric

Love this place. Felt like I found hidden treasure when I went into the monarch room. A must see and experience kind of a place.

Yelp
I can't believe that I didn't write this review a year ago when we were there. I LOVED this park. It was filled with SO MUCH wildlife like: Many birds, crabs and lizards. We are from Minnesota so we do not see this stuff very often. It is a small park surrounded by the city but it is full of life! Everywhere you look, there is something moving. You have to be quick. Do not hold the railings, there could be crabs or spiders lingering under them. The holes in the ground is where a lot of the crabs live, They are sitting outside the hole until they see you and then ZIP right back into the safety of there hole. This place was so full of nature. So many crabs, birds and butterflies. The birds seemed to be used to humans an let you get fairly close to take their picture. Since I am writing this review so late, the pictures i took are not directly connected to my review. I have a video of a crab going down the railing and hiding from us underneath it. Cute little guys. This is a relatively small park that also does events there. We loved this place and we took our time and spent over an hour enjoying the wildlife. The saddest part was the trash along the waterline. It is on a waterway where you can see the human influence with garbage floating around which was not great. I would have picked it up but you are on raised boardwalks with railings and I didn't want to climb over to get that stuff. Next time we are in the area, we will definitely be stopping by to visit. If i lived closer, I would be there all the time. This place was great. I hope that you love it as much as we did.

Yelp
Secret Woods was a nature preserve I didn't know existed until I was invited to attend a wedding being held there. Having lived previously in both Davie and Fort Lauderdale, it's hard to believe I never was told about this super cool area. You have to know where you're going, and be on the lookout for two signs: 1.) saying where to turn right into Secret Woods; 2.) the actual front entrance sign for it. But once you enter, it's a place where you can explore all the different walkways and pathways blazed throughout this park for at least a couple of hours -- or get too hot. Of course, what I was wearing was not as we shall say, "appropriate", for normal activities, being in a suit. Granted, I saw the signs for where the wedding celebration was going to be in the banquet hall -- which Secret Woods rents out based on availability obviously. But finding where the actual ceremony was going to take place was a little more difficult, as the signs to direct were not clear in that regard. This resulted in my walking down one of the main trails for five to ten minutes before realizing I was not going the right way. Probably didn't help it was 95 degrees and again wearing a suit, but I did find my situation funny apart from the perspiring. For a moment as I was walking deeper into the marshlands on the boardwalk, I was sure Jason from Friday the 13th was going to pop from behind a bush and chase me with an ax while the theme music from said movie played in the background. But I digress (my imagination is vivid, what can I tell you). When I finally did find the spot where they had the ceremony, it was really neat, with its natural gazebo like structure and log benches for seating. Very pretty and romantic, if you want to get married surrounded my very scenic tropical forest scenery, as apart from just getting hitched on the beach -- not that I'm against the latter, but the former was very magical. I would love to come back and explore all the trails, checking out the three areas that make up the preserve. There's a butterfly garden as well as center to observe displays apparently; however, I did not check out these, just saw they were located because wedding. Another great reason to check out the preserve. It's FREE! No admission to visit Secret Woods. Bring some friends, or come on your own. Great to get some fresh air and explore the scenery.

Yelp
I highly recommend the guided tours, which are only on weekends I think - look on the website for more info. The tour guide was very informative about plants and animals, and I got WAYYYY more out of it than I could have gotten by myself just walking around. The trails and boardwalks are nice walks. Nothing too crazy, but it's free and nice to look around in.

Yelp
We really didn't see much. But don't get me wrong, it is still a nice peaceful walk on the trails. You have a mulch trail and then a boardwalk that leads to the river where you'll see nice houses and boats. We saw ONE butterfly. I thought I would see a whole bunch but no luck. Maybe tis not the season, who knows. It's not the parks fault. Nature rules. I love to visit parks that I haven't been to before. In fact, that's my new year's resolution. Yup! You heard it here first folks. I will visit as many parks as I can this year and this Secret Woods one was my second one this year. Oh, and don't forget to use the bathroom before you leave. Drink extra water if you have to. They are really really nice and clean. Park is free. Parking is free.

Yelp
This place was spectacular to take the kids to. We are visiting from out of town, and remembered this place from when I was a kid 30+ years ago. The Nature Center is amazing - has fun little critters like live snakes and turtles, interactive displays, and a cute kid coloring puzzle and reading corner. Very family friendly. The trails are shaded so you don't get too hot, and lead to the New River. There's also a cute Pollinator Garden.

Yelp
Love coming here for a peaceful walk and a great place to bring the kids especially if you're on a budget. The only bad thing about this trip was on the nature walk they have a dig and play area and they have a box that they keep all the shovels and tools to dig, weeeellll in the box was an infestation of ants!!! We told the staff members so hopefully they'll take care of it.

Yelp
Secret woods is an absolute treasure in Broward. We had our wedding there and everything was so incredible. The park was affordable and the staff was accommodating for our wedding. For a price that's half of other Broward country parks, we were able to reserve an outdoor area for our vows, the indoor reception area, tables, and chairs. Roger at the font office was incredibly helpful with all my phone calls and questions!

Yelp
Went here to unwind and enjoy nature. Walking the trails is peaceful and tranquil. Although it was hot and humid, bring water, and look out for all different type of animal, such bird or earth crabs,. Area is under construction so some of the place was close for the public.

Yelp
This was everything I hoped for while looking for a good trail since I've moved to Florida! The few employees I saw were very kind and welcoming; I liked that the trails were nice and cleared out. The only complaint I would have is I saw a lot more trash than animals*insert angry crying face* it was obviously not the parks fault, it was from the canal and human's nasty littering habits!

Yelp
Though I did not see any wildlife at Secret Woods other than fiddler crabs, I thought it was deserving of a 4-star review. They not only have events for kids at the park, but they have a beautiful nature center for kids to explore, which includes snakes, a bee hive, and turtles. They also have shockingly elegant and clean bathrooms (especially for a park...better than a lot of hotel bathrooms even), and a butterfly garden, in addition to two different nature trails. Entrance to the park and nature center are both free. Since the nature trails are not too long, this would be a good place to bring kids and introduce them to the idea of nature trails, spotting wildlife, and walking. There are benches throughout the trails, in case you or the kiddies get tired and want to rest. Parking is also easy and ample, so come on out and walk off that weekday South Florida commute stress.

Yelp
A nice place to walk whether it's alone,or with kids. Didn't get to explore the entire park because they close gates at 5 but overall really liked the walk.Area by the water is very nice and peaceful.

Yelp
This park has two shaded walking paths. Some of it is a wood boardwalk and some parts are mulch. One is 3000 feet and the other path is 1100 feet. We stopped in the visitor center to learn about the habitat at the park. The displays are adult and children friendly. We spent 45 minutes at the park. It is free!
