Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya

The resort seems very well-ran and the staff was on top of things all the time & communicated well/efficiently in regards to the guests and had all of our needs covered in quick fashion. The beach was very nice & clean, the pools looked nice as well (but given how nice the beach was, opted to spend most/all of the water time there..) Special mention to a few personnel: Aaron (From the italian restaurant, Portofino) -- Absolutely great service, humor, and took good care of us. His service was the cherry on top for our delicious meal. Monica & Reyna (Concierges at Building #8) took good care of us with any requests, reservation at Himitsu, etc. Extremely quick and pleasant. Jhovana (Manager on Duty) took prompt care of a small issue we had in the room, while being very pleasant and quick to resolve the issue at the time & followed up with us. Another example of the resort being well/efficiently ran from a staff perspective.

Secrets Akumal truly has it all!! I’ve been to a few all inclusive resorts (including two other Secrets Resorts - Secrets Playa Mujeres and Secrets Wild Orchid) but none compare to Secrets Akumal. When you’re here, you truly feel like family. Between the delicious food, generous drinks, wonderful concierge service, and fun entertainment team, there’s nothing more you could possibly need (but if you do, they are more than happy to provide!) The resort features multiple restaurants for dinner. My favorites are Himitsu (Japanese), Portofino (Italian), and El Patio (Mexican). You really can’t go wrong at any of the restaurants. The food is delicious, which isn’t usually the case with all inclusives. Secrets Akumal has truly earned the AAA 5 Diamond rating! There’s a buffet for breakfast and lunch that’s also delicious. If that’s not enough, every day there’s a fresh lunch option by the main pool! While there, I enjoyed the burger day, bbq grill day, and baked potato day. I also can’t forget about the wood fired pizza oven that’s open every day for lunch too. When you’re here, you won’t go hungry. I have to take a moment to shout out the AMAZING staff that made sure our every wants and needs were met. Karina, our concierge, went above and beyond to provide for us and make sure we had everything we need. Ruben, our favorite pool concierge, made sure we were taken care of and comfortable all day. And I can’t forget about the amazing bartenders that poured us delicious drinks all week: Omar, Eduardo, Alejandro, and Ivan. And of course the wonderful entertainment team, who had us looking forward to all the fun activities: Max, Liz, Ari, and Brandon. (Side note: I 1000% recommend the bike tour with Max and Liz!!! Make sure you get there early.) We had such an amazing week here and it’s hard to come back to reality after such a wonderful time. This was our second time here, and we will definitely be back. We can’t wait to see our Secrets family again! 🫶

It's hard to describe paradise, but I'll do my best. Secrets Akumal is indeed, elite. The grounds or gorgeous, meticulously maintained. The staff is wonderful - kind, attentive, and accommodating. The gym is great and the spa has dozens of offerings - look for the ladies walking around the main pool for the best deals each day! The food and drinks are the best I've ever had at an all-inclusive. And, the pools are *elite*. Always chairs available, wonderful pool games hosted by the activity team (who are true difference makers) and amazing views. We've been twice in the last several years, and we can't wait to go back.

This is our favorite Secrets yet! The layout of the hotel makes you feel like you are in the jungle and secluded. The staff is attentive and there at every moment to ensure you are comfortable and relaxed and enjoying your stay. From the entertainment staff who arranged fun, engaging social activities (the bike tour was our absolute favorite, as was snorkeling with the turtles - we saw more than 10!, and we highly recommend the Silent Disco) to the pool and restaurant staff who always greeted us with a smile and ensured we always had what we needed, the staff made us feel welcomed and at home. Max, Andres, Carlo, Alan, Diedel, and Alejandro on the entertainment team were incredible. Food was delicious and service was great.

Secrets Akumal is a beautiful resort with a very attentive staff. The flora and fauna on the property give it a jungle-feel and it is an absolutely gorgeous paradise! The food was great and there are a lot of included activities. We especially enjoyed the bike ride into Akumal with Lis and Didi; they did a fantastic job leading the tour and it was great to explore outside of the resort. Our building concierge Monica and Reyna sent us daily WhatsApp messages to tell us the day's schedule, and to assist us with various questions we had. Also a shout out to Antonio, Israel, and Diego at the beach and pool for their EXCELENTE(!!) service, Jesus at the Market Cafe, and Estephanie and Hector at Seaside Grill! Thank you for an unforgettable stay!

Me and my boyfriend (now fiancé) spent 10 days here, our first time staying at a secrets resort and will definitely be back! The service is second to none, the food is amazing and the property, rooms and beachfront location is all brilliant. All of the staff are very friendly and specifically a special shout out to Monika in building 8 who arranged our engagement on the beach and has been constantly helpful, Osuna and Ruben the poolside concierge’s who have been very helpful and attentive, Alan for the poolside entertainment and activities, Santiago the bartender at the beach bar and Miguel the bartender at the swim up bar where we spent most of our time who are both very friendly, chatty and attentive! 10/10 holiday and we can’t pick a fault! We will be back!

My wife and I have just returned from a 10 night stay at Secrets Akumal. After a 19 year gap we decided to return to Mexico for our holiday and chose the Secrets Akumal resort based on the many favourable reviews and we wanted to be away from the hustle and bustle of Cancun. Everything from the food and drinks on offer, the location and the outstanding service provided by ALL the resort staff was to put it simply on another level. The choice of food available from the buffet style breakfast and lunch are like nothing I have ever seen. There is something there for everyone and the quality of the food is extremely good as others have stated already. The A la Carte dining on the evening time is a great concept and no booking is required. The only exception is the Habachi table in the Japanese restaurant as space is limited. We personally found the outdoor BBQ which was available everyday but varying the food on offer was amazing and extremely tasty. The evening entertainment was varied and we really enjoyed the Rock Show on Tuesday night as well as the fire show, the entertainment team did a really great job. My wife had a spa experience during our stay which she stated was fantastic and although expensive she stated it was worth it. What makes this resort stand out from others is the staff. Every single member of staff that we interacted with was so pleasant, polite and professional. However I have to mention a special thanks to a certain few members of staff that made our stay so magical. 1. Karina - Our concierge who looked after every aspect of our stay and greeted us every morning to see if there was anything we needed. What an amazing lady who is a true credit to this resort. 2. Jose - Jose who worked the pool and beach areas who was so polite, friendly and professional who took the time to inform us of the daily events around the resort. A true gentleman. 3. Oscar - The reception supervisor who handled an issue we had along with Karina. Again a true professional and a gentleman who resolved our issue and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was one to remember. 4. Daniel - Our waiter at the Himitsu Asian restaurant. Daniel is so full of energy and enthusiasm he went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our time. Your conversation made my wife and I smile from ear to ear. What an amazing young man. The resort is about an hour and fifteen minutes away from Cancun airport which for some maybe off putting after a long flight from the UK. But we opted for a private transfer and the journey was very pleasant and didn't seem to take that long. We look forward to seeing everyone again in the future as we will definitely be returning to this unforgettable and amazing resort. Thank you all for making our holiday one we will treasure forever.

Service, food, weather, beach everything was better than we could’ve asked for! I gained 8 pounds in 5 days from all of the good drinks and good food we had! Now time to get back to work and reality will hit hard as this was a blast and we will never forget. Already planning for our second trip, no other resort deserves an option because this is our favorite now!
