Chef Doug Turbush Is Closing Drift Fish House and Oyster Bar at Avenue East Cobb | Eater Atlanta

"A sibling concept located at Merchant’s Walk on Johnson Ferry Road, this restaurant has been successful and will begin hosting the other venue’s cocktail dinner series starting in January; it may also run the popular summer patio Pop’s Lobster Shack pop-up. A patio renovation is currently underway to accommodate those events and expanded outdoor offerings." - Beth McKibben

Absolutely fantastic service and delicious food! Carmen was my server and she was one of the kindest and most accommodating waitresses I’ve ever had the pleasure of being served by. The whole staff feels like one big family who truly cares about the restaurant and its story. As a Muslim I loved how many seafood options there were. Get the signature pan-roasted blue cod and the lemon mascarpone cheesecake. Both absolutely delicious and worth every penny. I’ll be back as soon as I can, God willing!

First time here. Will definitely return. Started with the hummus which was excellent. Beet salad exceptional. Hubby enjoyed the peach salad and sockeye salmon. My crab cake was good can’t say it was memorable. Just a good crab cake. except the salad on top was excellent. Our server Carmen was very helpful and attentive.

Is this place worth the hyped?! I’d say no. They definitely have some standouts on the menu, from the Schnitzel to the Korean Short Rib, to the the Fritters, but they were not stars. As I way value against flavor profile, these dishes were way overpriced and over cooked. Both the short rib and the Schnitzel were dry even though that aspect was trying to hide behind the mashed potatoes or the mustard sauce. That was disappointing especially considering the price point. I could have heated up a frozen schnitzel from Costco and had a pretty similar tasted and texture. Now if there is one absolute stunner on the menu, it is their Tres Leches cake. Oh my gosh! Somehow they’ve mastered one of the great Latin American desserts. It was soaked in cream and milk yet somehow the cake itself was firmer in texture yet still permeated with that wonderful creamy sauce. It was accompanied by some fresh berries. It was the winner! Now the restaurant is fine with its open air design yet we were stuffed with our family in some side room around a junky corner with some tacky decorations. We did not enjoy that part. I’m sure the wine bar is good, but the full restaurant experience is not worth it.

Seed Kitchen and Bar has been around East Cobb for a long time. This says a lot because restaurants come and go here very quickly, even chain restaurants don't make it for too long in this area. Seed has a great menu, which I will post the current one in the images of my review below. They also have fantastic cocktails with an unusual twist and a very nice wine list. I will be honest I don't ask for or want a menu when I go in because there's only one item on the menu that I get, and that's the Asian fish sandwich. My wife and I cook quite a bit and so when we go out to eat we like to get things that we typically won't make it home. This sandwich is one of those. They have many seasonal cocktails to choose from, as well as your traditional favorites. Their seasonal cocktails have homemade syrups and herbs that complement the liquor that is used in that particular drink. During our most recent visit, our server Nallely had a great knowledge of both the drink menu and food menu. She was very attentive without being overbearing and had a phenomenal personality for the restaurant business. If you're looking for a tasty and unique menu to dine from, then Seed Kitchen and Bar will not disappoint.

My friend and I were looking for a new lunch experience. This chef driven restaurant was just the place! Reservations were easy to make (Though they did have a few tables for walk-ins available.). We were greeted with enthusiasm. The restaurant decor was minimalistic, which I believe allows for attention to details and cleanliness. Our booth had upholstered high back seating, which was not fixed to the floor so it would accommodate body type. The wait-staff is very attentive. Nallely was both personal and professional. She took exceptional care of us. Our adult beverages were called Fairly Odd (melon cocktail)and A House Without a Key (tropical cocktail). We did not order an appetizer, but we heard they were amazing. We both ordered the Daily Trio. The soup of the day was potato and asparagus. It was silky, smooth, very warm, and perfect for a rainy day. The sandwich was a ham and cheese with arugula on ciabatta bread. Taste was fresh and filling. Lastly, there was a spring green salad with strawberries, slivered almonds, and the balsamic vinaigrette. The chef surprised us with a sharing-sized slice of Tre Leches Cake, topped by a very light and flavorful, whipped topping, with perfectly right berries on the side. My friend commented that she does not usually like this type of cake because it is often drowned in liquid, but she said the preparation was perfect. The cake still had texture and the flavor was not too sweet. We highly recommend “Seed”! Interesting fact… The restaurant does not have a freezer. The chef prefers to serve fresh ingredients that are local.

Met friends for dinner. First time eating here, but my friends wat here 2-3 times a week. Recommend the cornbread. Had the scallops and grits, and my wife had a salad with walnuts. This place is pricey, so be prepared for a large bill.
