SEIVA

"Chef David Jesus is a strong advocate of the idea that it is possible to create great food by using what nature provides for us, and his restaurant is clear proof of this. The menu here changes with the seasons and according to the creativity of a chef who is always looking to innovate and create new combinations. Dishes include kimchi nigiri, a croquette with a creamy centre and superb texture; the “cuttlefish from my roots”, with rice tagliatelle, passion fruit curry and crispy cabbage; and to round things off, the mouthwatering vegetable brioche with almond milk and condensed tamarind milk." - Michelin Inspector

I discovered SEIVA through the Michelin Guide app and was so glad I followed the recommendation. While it isn’t Michelin-starred (yet), it absolutely deserves recognition for its elevated plant-based cuisine, warm hospitality, and creative approach to dining. I chose the 11 Moments tasting menu with the non-alcoholic pairing, and everything was thoughtfully curated and beautifully executed. Special thanks to Lourenço and Bedro, who were incredibly knowledgeable and explained every single dish with care and detail. Their attention truly elevated the experience. While everything was delicious, these three stood out as the most memorable: • Lemon verbena & lemon dry shaken (from the pairing) • Vegetable Cabidela – stewy black garlic rice with vinaigre, cumin, chanterelles & trumpets of death • Kefir dessert – vanilla cream, nut crumble & kefir sorbet SEIVA is a must-visit for anyone looking for a refined and original vegan/vegetarian experience in Porto. Thank you again to the entire team—I’ll absolutely be back.

Wow - just perfect! Incredible food, beautiful attentive service and wonderful wine. The 11 course tasting menu was just delicious, so beautifully presented and described. Let Bruno suggest what to to drink his parings were quite special. We tried to rank our top 3 courses - that was a tough competition.

If I could give it more stars, I would. This is one of the best vegan restaurants we've ever been to. We were surprised by the dishes, both delicious and beautiful. Every detail was very well taken care of. And the waiter was so nice, sweet and funny which made our evening even more special. The local lemon grass, ginger and orange infusion he made for us at the end of the dinner was extraordinary! This is definitely a must when in Porto 👌

This was a restaurant I’d been looking forward to visiting for a long time! Maybe that was the problem—I got my hopes up. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good restaurant! But did it amaze me? No… It’s missing that wow factor, and, honestly, a bit of flavor. My favorite things were the dessert (you can’t go wrong here) and a very simple Chinese bread starter. The main dish, however, was completely underwhelming. Which is a shame. That said, kudos for the excellent service! 3,5/5

One of the best dining experiences I have ever had. The staff were so attentive, knowledgeable and caring. We enjoyed three courses, which were all carefully explained by the waiters. Our individual tastes and preferences were always considered and every dish was an exciting culinary experience. Even the bread at the start was something special, but the mushroom dish was otherworldly. I will never forget the way those mushrooms tasted - each individual ‘moment’ so original, together forming a wonderful celebration of the mushroom! If you are local to the area, you simply have to visit this restaurant. The prices are so reasonable too. For what they are providing here, it could easily be double the price.

Our Vegan son took us (non Vegan parents) to eat dinner and I must say we were so pleasantly surprised! The service was top notch, friendly and very knowledgeable and passionate. We did the 11 plate menu but chose a bottle of wine that was recommended by the samelier, which paired perfectly with all of our plates. The food, each plate was incredibly delicious and the presentation was perfection! I honestly didn’t even remember that it was a vegan/Plant Based restaurant because each dish was sooooo good! I highly recommend this restaurant and would give it a 10 star!!!!!!!!!!! Had to post most of our meal because, why not. :)

This was an incredible experience. The food is surprising, tasty, delicious even for people used to meat. We did the food & alcohol pairing, and it was subliming. Pedro was extremely invested in explaining the idea and origin behind every course, and Bruno (sommelier and wine pairer) he was expert on advising us I would 100% recommend him

The service and atmosphere were very welcoming and we felt comfortable throughout the evening. The staff are warm and friendly. The wine pairing was excellent, some great Portuguese wines that definitely matched the quality of some of the French wines I drink at home. It's hard for me to pick a favourite. A notable moment for me was the great late harvest Petit Manseng, something which I had never tasted before. Not overly sweet, but still fitting with dessert (it was so good I ordered an extra glass). We had the 8 moments menu and we really enjoyed every single dish. We were happy to discover the wide variety of plant-based flavours and textures that David Jesus and his team offered.
