The Best Dishes Eater Editors Ate This Week | Eater LA

"A well-curated craft-beer shop ideal for picking up cans and catching a shine of the ocean, this beachy Redondo Beach fixture also supports the local scene by hosting rotating food pop-ups (recently a popular burger collaboration), making it a community hub for hops and bites." - Eater Staff

Google
Had a beer here before going next door to eat. Wanted a little variety. Bartender , she was super nice, was able to pour me 4 small samplers to try different styles. The glass sizes were perfect for a full taste of each! They just need to make a nice wood charcuterie board to hold the beers! Lol. Atmosphere was relaxing, fun and manly. Cool hangout at the bar or at the tables!

Google
My favorite beer store of all time! So many beers and not just the usual suspects, they get new beers to try all the time and not just from their amazing tap. Wes and his staff do a fantastic job and any beer lover would be smart to stop by an enjoy a pint while looking at all the amazing bottled and canned beer they have in stock. I absolutely love this place and recommend it!

Google
Lots of local and great beers like Piney the elder and much more. The owner roasts his own coffee. Sit and sip or take home. An often missed spot.

Google
Great beer and friendly staff. The atmosphere is also pretty great. The selection on tap is decent and the refrigerated section is quite large.

Google
This place is dope!!!!!! Walking distance from redondo beach brew company. Can sit down at the bar and just order or get cans to go. The two ladies that served us were super friendly and talked to me all night.

Google
This is a review for the Dragon Wagon pop up food tent outside the Select Beer store. I tried the Chicken sandwich & all 3 versions of the empanadas. The sandwich was one of the best pieces of fried chicken i've had in a very long time. Crisp on the outside, soft & juicy on the inside. The slaw & dragon sauce was a nice top off for it. The beef, chicken & veggie empanadas were quite good to. Just enough seasoning for flavor, moist with a crisp exterior.

Google
Pretty much the greatest place ever. Great ownership, great staff, great beer. What more could you want?

Google
Had a good time 😁 They sell and serve beer here 🍺🍾 Good beers on tap 🏺 The beers rotate frequently 🔃 Service can be slow when the place is busy☸ Parking is difficult . 🚗 Have to park in back of the store and walk around the block . 🛴 It is the same story with street parking 🚲 Lots of good beer for sale in the cool and off the self ❄ Staff is cool but can get short when the place is super busy 😠 Super cutie little venue . 🎠

Yelp
This is it, your place for great beer and even better people! Really great community of phenomenal people who both work here and who come here. Make sure to come early and ask Wes about beer.... He knows his beer, thats for sure.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this place as a destination for specialty wines and beers. The space was nicely organized and the server was very helpful and offered to discuss any of the items in the store. Another highlight is that they also serve alcohol here and have a good amount of seating. It's an intimate, low-key environment that feels more like a cozy but high end neighborhood bar. Since they serve alcohol this place is not kid-friendly but still a real treat for this looking for a different experience while either buying something to drink later or looking for a place to try a new beer or wine.

Yelp
The best selection of beer in the South Bay Look, if you are like me - a total beer snob- then this is the place for you. They understand and appreciate BELGIAN beer (the best beer in the world). Look, it's brewed by monks (well, some of them) so it's approved by The Almighty. And speaking of Trappists- this is THE ONLY place to find Orval. The best beer on the planet. Unless, of course , I was there first at which point the shelf is bare

Yelp
Great selection of beer and casual setting. Outdoor patio to enjoy the nice weather and friendly patrons.

Yelp
Select is one the great beer havens that can be found in Southern California or, truly, anywhere in the country. Not a hyperbole. They have an incredible variety from local westies to classic English ales to obscure Belgian quads. Wes takes pride in stocking familiar favorites and newer releases both in cans and on draft. It is as well curated as it is impressively stocked and everything is fairly priced. I've visited all the hyped up shops in LA and found that if a place has harder to source beers (ex. North Park, Highland Park, Pure...) the markup is insane but not here. They even get the occasional Cantillon and Alchemist drops (again fairly priced). For most craft California beers its around $4ish a can which is as good as it gets. You can mix and match and get 10% off if you get six or more. The ambiance is lowkey, you can cozy up to the bar and chat with the friendly staff/locals or have a nice sit at one of their smaller tables. No TVs, Wes wants an old school pub atmosphere, and that energy is found in abundance. It's a clean, welcoming space, with staff that is willing to lend authentic and helpful suggestions. If the location were three blocks south in the Riviera and had more consistent food options, it would undoubtedly be overrun with influencers and South Bay Bros ripping keg stands with Radiant pilsners or playing Edward Pliny Hands...but being tucked away in a small strip with about four parking spaces removes that threat and we are all better off for it! TLDR Select is INCREDIBLE!
google avatar

Warren N.

Yelp
What can you say? It's the best and only place like it in the South Bay. A great place to meet up w/ my beer nerd friends for some pints of the freshest and most unique ales, sours, pilsners, lagers available. Tons of local choices as well.
google avatar

Amar K.

Yelp
Love the place! Ambience and wide selection of beer! Excellent service. Was looking for pale ale and the staff pointed me to a perfect one!

Jason B.

Yelp
Great, friendly, and helpful service the two times I've been so far. A nice, relaxing vibe.
google avatar

Howard Z.

Yelp
Still open and still good! This is a little bit of noticeable empty space on the shelves, but that is to be expected with the global supply chain issues; particularly for imports. As always, had opportunity to purchase a wide variety of yummy beers, and got some great recommendations!
google avatar

Kelsey G.

Yelp
A hidden gem in the riviera. Extensive selection of cans to go as well as top notch rotating drafts with options for all kinds of palates. Patio area, while somewhat lacking in ambiance, is shaded and dog friendly. They allow you to bring in outside food so check out the chips and guacamole from next door.
google avatar

Chris M.

Yelp
The absolute best selection of brews handpicked by the owner himself, a beer savant and cool dude!

Yelp
I came here last Saturday to meet my friend Steve, and boy.. did I miss this place.. the last time, I was here was years ago.... it was great to see wes(the owner) and was amazed that he still recognized me.... but did not know some of the staffs that I used to know had moved on. but none the less I was happy to be back... I would come here often but Redondo beach is a bit far from me.... tough, Steve came 2 hours late... i had a great time... they great selections of beers on draft.. oh, and if you know how to draw.. wes might ask you to draw for the next beer on draft...

Yelp
It's been a minute since I've reviewed this spot - aka "Select Beer Store" (not sure why I'm putting that in quotes, but hey!). When I last reviewed this most-amazing local bottle shop, there were a mere 12 taps. Now there are 18. That's a 50% bettering of taps! They've also added premium nuts as well as are happy to keep patrons hydrated - either by asking for simple tap water - or if one is feeling frisky, ask for what the guy next to you is drinking, and get yo'self a "Pellegrino" (again with the quotes! not sure why I keep doing that!) Anywho - I continue to give this libation paradise top marks. Curated beer list, lines cleaned after each and every new keg is tapped, and knowledgeable and sometimes sarcastic staff (oh, you "guys!"). 'Specially ChristoPHER!!!

Steve R.

Yelp
Friendly folks, not all of them beer geeks, and always good selection. Wes is knowledgeable and affable.

Yelp
Hey this place is bad-ass. Couple blocks from the beach, huge chilled beer section for mix-n-match 6 packs to go. They had a bottle of watermelon dorado form ballast point, yum! On the other side they have specialty high end bombers, and a drinking area with a mini corn-hole game, awesome. They also have about 20 rotating taps, local and out of state that were about $7-9 a pint. So here was my favorite part. I asked who made the slates that had the beer artwork on them. They said the customers make them and did I want to do one? Hells to the yeah! So now I guess I'm a craft beer artist! Thanks Ryan for the stickers for my beer fridge!
google avatar

Nicole L.

Yelp
Their beer selection is RIDIC in all the best ways possible. I imagine it's impossible to enter this place without coming out broke but stocked with beer. PARKING: Shared lot with ample street parking. Note that they don't serve any food, but when we brought in some snacks, they didn't mention anything. They have a handful of beers on tap, but you can also make your selection of their EXTENSIVE stock and pay a small open bottle fee. They have Stone Green Tea IPA in stock! Must come back to buy!

Yelp
So bummed out about this place. As a business owner, I know it isn't hard to update your hours of operation online. Seemed super promising, was excited to get out for a beer with my husband while grandma was home with the kids. We live a little over a mile away, and we're walking over and realized more than halfway there we had forgotten our masks. We called them to see if they had disposables available so we didn't have to walk all the way back. They did not. We said no worries and we would double back and see them soon. We walked all the way home and back, walked in around 8:55 and were thrilled to see the tap selection. We stood around for about 5 minutes, and a customer said they thought they had already did last call. Then realized the employees were already drinking at the counter and said, "we close at 9, sorry it's Wednesday" and proceeded to laugh about it. Would've been nice if they had mentioned they were closing an hour early when we had clearly stated our situation over the phone. Big old waste of time.

Yelp
This place is legit. It's a bottle shop and hangout spot, with a chill vibe and awesome workers. If you come in here for a drink, they have many options on tap, but you can also grab one of their many bottles (for $1.50 "corkage") and drink it there. If you're going for the taps, you can get a regular serving or make your own tasting, with tasters priced at $2.50-$3.00 each. Since I'm more of a cider person than a beer person, I opted for a bottle of cider. Two bottles of cider and one tasting glass later, my total bill was only about $12 (including "corkage"), so I'd say the prices are pretty friendly. In terms of food, you're welcome to bring in your own. There are lots of options in this area, including a food truck that sets up outside, but my friend and I went with Riviera Mexican Grill next door (which provided us with a buzzer so we'd know when our food was ready). My friends and I were here from about noon until 2:30, and it was really chill, but I could definitely see it getting busier as the afternoon progressed. But even as it was getting busier, the crowd seemed really easygoing and I thoroughly enjoyed it here. Overall: recommended!

Yelp
Love stopping by this place whenever in the area. Great selection of beers from craft lagers and IPAs to Belgium beers. Love that they have such a great representation of craft breweries! I can have a beer in house or take it to go. The staff is also great! They make me feel so comfortable every time I go in and are always willing to help me pick things out when I'm undecided. Great place to check out!

Yelp
It's a little place I never knew, today I felt like drinking beer so I searched around. I don't like crowds and I don't like noisy place. This place is quiet so it's nice. The interiors are really good. I had London pride, and it's delicious. They have good selection.
google avatar

Nichole C.

Yelp
This place is the best! My favorite beer is Straffe Hendrick and it's REALLY hard to find! Not only did they have it but they had it in a four pack. On top of that they also had the quad and the wild version. I had never even seen the wild version before. And when I asked the man about the difference he was quite knowledgable. The also have a cold version of everything in the store. I got to also try a limited edition delirium.. Called Deliria. Bought some brews and was able to drink and enjoy them in the store while playing the oldest version of trivial pursuit ever. Had a blast! Thanks guys!

Yelp
What a great find :-).....I stopped in here this past weekend since I was meeting friends for dinner next door. An interesting little spot that is half store and half bar. The store has a pretty modern design and feel with plenty of interior space with small tables off to one side. A small tasting bar along the back with the dozen tap options. Hundred of different bottles options, most of them refrigerated, and most of them tagged with associated prices. Expect to find many American and Belgian finds, with the occasional English oddball and Shelton Bros import. Glassware is available to purchase. Overall a great establishment that I will definitely be frequenting. Cheers!
google avatar

Anne A.

Yelp
A small but carefully curated selection of craft beer bottles/cans and craft beer flights available on draft. Bartenders are really welcoming and friendly. They'll help you choose a beer if you are an indecisive person like me. They have tables in their store where you bring dinner to pair with beer. My friend picked up dinner at The Standing Room.
google avatar

Ruben P.

Yelp
It was a little hard for me to find the storefront due to the y-split in the road but super glad I circled the block and found it. Beautiful, tall, and fully stocked refrigerators with an assortment of different kind of beer surely able to accommodate any palette. I can't remember the guys name who helped my dad and myself but he was very helpful in finding a beer to choose from, great conversation and excellent service , we asked enough question to get a regular person bothered but he answered them all with a smile and great attitude , all around great beer and nice chill atmosphere
google avatar

Michelle P.

Yelp
Cool, chill place to hang out and try some new brews. You can pay $4 for samplers on draft. I like how they support local breweries like smog city. There's beers on tap, refrigerators and shelves here....a huge selection of beers that are harder to find. Servers had good recommendations and were really friendly. I enjoyed the atmosphere and will defiantly come back :)
google avatar

Yelp
This is the best bottle shop and tasting room in all of the South Bay and possibly in L.A. or So Cal. It is also a hidden gem since it is only packed on special events, even though there are some key regulars that take up some of the stools at the the bar, but there are plenty of tables and standing room in front of the coolers and beer shelves. You can bring your own take out food in here and there is a good selection of restaurants in the Rivera that you can get food or have it delivered. Or I always make Select my first stop before going out, In addition the owner and the staff are all beer experts!
google avatar

Roxanne K.

Yelp
My boss isn't as excited as I am about this place opening up next to our office. Now, any hour can be happy hour. They offer 12 or so varieties of beer on tap everyday and they change it up daily. I tried a Helles beer and it was dessert in a glass. The place is spacious, so it's a bit echoey and tables are kinda' sparse. The best seat is at the smallish bar, but everyone is friendly, so cramming bodies together doesn't seem to be an issue. Food isn't an option, but you can bring it in. The folks behind the bar are very knowledgable and love to share information about beer. They don't take Amex. It's got a slight "Cheers" feel to it. Can't wait until everybody knows my name.
google avatar

Reza F.

Yelp
From the moment that I walked into this place it was a warm and friendly atmosphere, and I felt like I was home. I've never left :) Wes (The Owner) and Dave (The Beer Nerd) are both great individuals. Are both knowledgeable about all of the beers that they carry, and make you feel like you're at home. They try and carry some great local beers that you might otherwise not try. They also have a bar where you can drink any one of the 12 beers that they rotate on tap. I love beer, and I've got to tell you that they keep their lines very clean, so any beer you try here will taste better than anywhere else. Also, you can open any bottle that they have in the store and drink it there for a fee of $1.50. Go in and say "Hi" they will make you feel at home, and you'll forgot about all those other places that you used to buy beer. Cheers!!!

Chris L.

Yelp
Best place for fine beers, great vibes, good friends, and near the beach! I recommend it to anyone!
google avatar

Mike A.

Yelp
I'm going to start with the negatives, because that's what experts on interpersonal relationships always say. That way you can end on a positive note, unless the person receiving the information gets so mad during the beginning that you never get to the end. If that is the type of person you are dealing with, just bury the negatives and don't ever tell them. They won't improve, but you know what? That's on them for being so hard to give feedback to. A business on Yelp doesn't have a choice, so it is entirely appropriate to start with the negatives if you so desire. Well, the negative here is that you cannot bring your sleeping baby in a stroller inside, because everyone who enters must be 21. I am not sure what the policy is if you have a sleeping 21-year-old. Perhaps that is worth testing out. All I know is that my 8-month-old son put a damper on my beer shopping experience. I need to get him a fake ID, stat. The positives here outweigh that one negative. The staff are super helpful and friendly. The take home selection is great. And the bar itself looked convenient and cool, though I didn't get to partake. I was too busy hoping that someone wouldn't steal my baby as he was parked outside in the parking lot and I was browsing the hazy IPAs.

Yelp
What a gem! I've been following Select Beer Store on Instagram and finally made my way to visit this joint. It's located on the south end of Redondo Beach and it's worth the trip! Wes and Chris were very friendly and helpful. They have rotating beers on tap and tons of bottles for sale. You can open the bottles on site with $1.50 charge or buy to-go. Overall a great vibe and awesome selection of beers. Only downside is no kids allowed. So my friend and her kid had to wait at Coffee Bean while I tried their beers.
google avatar

Stephanie C.

Yelp
This is our local to-go spot. I have only lived in Redondo for a little over a year from Culver City where we had lots of cool bars. I never thought I'd find anything I would enjoy as much here in the South Bay but alas Select Beer Store! I love coming in and having Chris greet us with a big smile! Everyone who works here is awesome!Yeah the beer selection is amazing but what makes it better is the cool vibes of everyone who works here.
google avatar

Chris K.

Yelp
A cool store that has seating, open space, and plenty of beers from around the world. They also serve beer on tap. Great place to come by and grab a drink with broskies, or to take someone on a casual date. The tables aren't the most comfortable and the room can get kind of loud, but temper expectations and enjoy the beer and you will have a good time. 2 things I wish they did differently. One, stay open later (only open until 10pm). Doesn't need to be 2am, but 11am or midnight would be cool. Two, have more Asian beers (Tsing Tao, Asahi, etc.)
google avatar

Samar N.

Yelp
My boyfriend and i randomly came across this on Yelp and thought we would go check it out. We have been looking for a fun little beer store near our house. Something that isnt a chain and has good ambiance. This place is really new it only opeend on jan 20th. The owner and the guy working here were super nice and inviting. They have a pretty decent beer selection and I think it will only get better with time. The set up is really nice, very modern with beer for purchase against the walls, one half in coolers the other on shelves. Im the middle their is a large bar and they had about 8-9 taps. In the middle of the store there is also tables. They allow outside food and you get a 10% discount at Valentinos pizza (yum). A great new addition to the South Bay and I look forward to seeing what they come up with in the form of events and beer clubs and so on in the future.
google avatar

Jay H.

Yelp
It's nice here. If you're looking for good beer at good beer prices check this place out and bring friends. It's small and has a good local presence. This isn't a dive bar and you'll have a good time. I think they have games if you ask.
google avatar

Amara S.

Yelp
Such an awesome spot!! I'm not sure why I just found out about this place recently, but being a huge beer lover I am ecstatic. They have such great variety (both in fridge and out). The guy helping us (totally forgot his name, sorry!) was incredibly helpful and very nice. He told us how everything was organized so it'd be easier to find depending on our likes. There is a bar to sit and chill and there are even small tables to hangout and chill on your laptop or even read a book while you sip your delicious beer. BONUS: They have a mini corn hole to play! yeee!

Yelp
While some have been impressed with the uniqueness of this place, it's pretty much like places I've been to in SF and San Diego. And I say, bring it on! In fact, a place where they'll open any beer for you that's in their refrigerator seems overdue for the South Bay. While I really don't like the general location and parking situation, the interior is casual and inviting--not over designed but a cut or two above a cinder block man cave. One thing I do love: no TVs! If you're not careful, you may actually find yourself having a conversation with a perfectly nice human being. There are plenty of places to get a craft beer these days. But here, it's a total focus on beer, because it's not a bar--it's a store. So the selection is much wider than at a gastropub. I had and loved the Port Anniversary Ale on tap (which I'd sampled at the Port Brewery in San Diego recently). Another difference from gastropubs is that you can buy bottles and six packs to go. Even though the prices are a buck or three higher than elsewhere, I still walked out with a sixer of Lagunitas Maximus IPA (drinking beer with 10% ABV ratings makes the higher prices a little easier to, ahem, swallow).
google avatar

Hazel K.

Yelp
This is a cute little place for beers. It literally feels like a liquor store you can drink in. There are coolers everywhere with cold beers as well as nice fresh beers on tap. No food but you are ALLOWED TO BRING FOOD IN so that's super cool. Seating and tables are clean and the beers selection is huge. I love the large german beer selection. But expect a lot of IPAs both in bottle and on tap...though I assume they rotate out tap beers. Had the Nancy sour and a STRIKE beer. Delicious! Was very happy to see the sour on tap. SOUR BEER, so hot right now. Would love to come back to beer shop. A great place to mellow out, chill, and have some beers. I would argue one of the best and most respectable drinking establishment in one of the most popular parts of Redondo.

Yelp
I visited Select Beer Store over Labor Day weekend and was so amazed by their variety of beers on the shelves. They had everything! From the more known beers and to the totally obscure beers from the farthest corners of the furthest countries. On top of that I was blown away by the friendliness and knowledge of the staff. They knew what every single beer that I pointed at. I am a very picky person full of opinions and they managed to keep pouring me things a thoroughly enjoyed. It was great to come to a friendly place to have a quiet beer after spending the day at the beach with screaming children. I saw that the owner ordered a pizza for his staff. Its the small gestures like this that confirms that this is a great place. Good for everyones moral!
google avatar

Kevin D.

Yelp
This place has the best beer and a great owner. A comfortable place with really good bar and great beer. You can enjoy a conversation and beer without distractions.
google avatar

Lauren A.

Yelp
Best selection of craft beer in the South Bay! No macro brands or their purchased micro-brands carried here! Always a solid lineup on draught and staff is super friendly and always ready to give their recommendations. You can also bring in your own food which makes it an even better place to just come and hang out for an hour or two (or 6..) At the very least, if you're put on a wait for one of the restaurants near by, stop in and have a beer before dinner, well worth it! If you use Untappd, this is a verified venue and you also get a special badge for checking in here :)
google avatar

Jorge C.

Yelp
Lots of great beers on tap. They keep a great rotation every week. Very friendly atmosphere

Andrew A.

Yelp
Great selection of chilled beers and aged beers. Beers on tap rotate quickly due to popularity so the beer is always fresh! Very friendly personable and knowledgeable staff, if you don't what you want they will definitely be able to guide you toward the right choice. Outside food is allowed and is located near many takeout restaurants. Games available to be played. Casual and welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend to anyone in the RB area looking for a good beer.
google avatar

Marvin S.

Yelp
Great place, beer selection is amazing. The beers on tap never disappoint. If you like some good IPA give this place a try.

Yelp
SO: I have seen this spot countless times before, I am found at Mexican Riviera Grill next door quite often (they share a parking lot). Every time I walk past, it looks like it has a good vibe. Last night the manfriend and I were told that a table at the Riv was going to be minimally 25-30 minutes on account of three larger parties. Well, what we would normally do is go to the bar and just grab a marg whilst we wait, but lo and behold! The bar was solid packed. Now, I am not a beer drinker, hence why I have never stopped by Select Beer. BUT me being the doll that I am (ha ha) I told the manfriend we could go by so he could grab one for the wait. We sit down and immediately are greeted by a bubbly and friendly fellow named Chris who gave us the 411 and guess what? THEY. HAD. WINE!!! Not the biggest selection, I believe they were three reds and three whites but shoots I'm not complaining! The whole experience was short and sweet but great, none the less. Our buzzer went off earlier than expected for dinner so we did have to drink and dash but you can bet you'll be seeing us here again before dinner from now on.
google avatar

Demi A.

Yelp
Beer store was really great!! Nice selection of drafts. Definitely would like to see a lot more East coast breweries on the menu and fridge but it was a great experience would come back.

Z K.

Yelp
If you love, or even just like beer, you will be impressed. A great place to be for beer and the people.
google avatar

Yelp
Let me start by saying that if you are coming here to drink cheap, yellow, fizzy beer and watch football, do yourself a favor and walk to one of the 328 other bars in the South Bay that offer that. If you want to drink an incredibly fresh craft beer while meeting people in your community and striking up a real conversation (not ignoring them and staring like a zombie at a TV) at a store that knows and cares for beer, then this is your place. Sure, other big box stores like BevMo, Total Wine, etc have a big selection but the key difference with Select Beer is the staff actually takes care of the beer meaning it is fresh and at its optimal condition. From keeping 90% of its bottles refrigerated to taking the extra step of putting UV coating on its cooler lights (UV light damages beer) to meticulous cleaning of its draft system, these people know how to keep beer tasting good. Staff is friendly and highly knowledgeable about beer (unlike many big box stores). One of my favorite places to have a beer in the South Bay.

Yelp
Prepare yourself for an absolute treat. As if the 300 bottled varieties in the coolers to your left as you enter the establishment are not enough, the 12 taps directly in front of you will most certainly get your attention. The finest ale in the land flows through these taps, and the turnover in choices is both frequent and often. The quality of offerings is mind-blowing. Let's say you want to sample the only American style of ale (that being the relatively new Double IPA) - chances are there's a tap for that. Perhaps a Strand Brewery (Torrance) Black IPA? There was some of that during the exceptionally well-attended Grand Opening. How about some Sour Black Ale - sweet Jesus and Katie bar the door - there was some of that as well. And the list goes on. Double dry-hopped IPA? Check. New Belgium (Abbey) Grand Cru? Check. Lagers, Pilsners, Reds, Blondes, Stouts, Belgians, Hefeweizens - and did I mention that most of these are available as 4-ounce tasters? As an aside, cleanliness is paramount - this place is *spotless*. The lines are professionally purged every time a keg is changed, and every glass is re-rinsed before being filled. You could either drive thousands of miles to sample these at their home breweries in all of their fresh goodness, or just pull up a stool at the bar, or a chair at one of the 8 or so tables, and sit a spell. Like a box of chocolates, you never know exactly what will be available across the dozen taps, but all of those bottles in the coolers? Yeah, any of them can be poured for a modest cappage fee - and to say that the selection is world class is putting it mildly. By the way, there's refreshing ginger beer (an excellent palate cleanser), notable root beer, and mineral water in those coolers for the non-drinker as well. Food is not served, but menus and delivery from nearby bistros are available, and patrons are encouraged to bring their own food as well. The owners and staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly love what they do. It is a feather in the cap of Redondo Beach to have this establishment here. Drop by - if you've never enjoyed a proper ale, allow the staff to offer you as much or as little education as you want. And if you do know your way around ale, well, prepare to be impressed and... happily adjusted in short order.
