Sellae

"On the coattails of Mensae ("table" in Latin) in the 19th arrondissement comes Sellae ("chair"). Another restaurant in the Thibault Sombardier stable, it has a bistro-style interior. The chef cooks up modern, seasonal cuisine, with a penchant for the South of France and above all for indulgence! Fine produce is prepared with real know-how: snail ravioli with herb butter; chanterelle and parmesan risotto; and the chef's signature dessert, warm chocolate mousse, vanilla ice cream and fleur de sel crumble..." - Michelin Inspector

Perfect gastronomic restaurant in my neighborhood! The escargot ravioli is a must have and the filet of Bar is also just perfect. Kiwi Pavlova also perfect.

Still one of our favorite restaurants in Paris. A bit off the beaten tourist path, but with the journey without a doubt. This time we had a wonderful soft boiled egg with mushrooms, durade and Veal sweetbreads (some of the best I've ever had) for our main dish. Dessert has to be the chocolate mousse. Simply the best.

An all-round wonderful and memorable dining experience. My partner and I were recommended with restaurant by her colleague (a local), and we were blown away by the food, service, and setting. The staff were attentive, knowledgable, and extremely helpful for those whose French isn’t entirely up to par. We will be coming back during our next Parisian visit.

Incredible service. Server spoke impeccable English and was helpful, even asking the chef a question about the meal when we showed interest in one of the dishes. Food was delicious. Best asparagus ever

We truly loved our experience here ❣️ The food is amazing and the staff is very attentive. A cozy place perfect for a date or an intimate meal with friends. I particularly enjoyed the snail ravioli, it is one of the best dishes I ever had!

Food Came here for lunch. I found the lunch menu to be quite good value. Most special was the veal main which was perfectly cooked at medium rare. Also ordered three course menu off the a la carte. I really enjoyed the snail ravioli in the sweet garlic cream sauce. The pasta was nice and thin. Also really loved the butternut crumble with rosemary cream, which was very autumnal. Ambience Nice and warm décor. Service The service was extremely friendly and attentive. Price Lunch menu was 22€ and good value.

The food quality was excellent, however, the service was exceptionally poor. It appeared the staff lacked the necessary skills to accommodate non-French speaking patrons. Upon arrival, despite stating our limited French proficiency, we were provided only a French menu. We subsequently requested two complete menus, including starter, main course, and dessert. Upon receiving the bill, we were overcharged, with the explanation that one dish wasn't on the tasting menu and the error was ours for not selecting correctly. While I accept the communication barrier and paid the additional amount, the waiter's demeanor was exceedingly rude and unempathetic. He should have addressed the issue at the time of ordering, rather than highlighting the discrepancy on the bill and implying a lack of attention on our part.

Mixed experience. The menu is short and heavy on meat, cream and buttery sauces (beurre blanc, bearnaise, velouté). There are also other french classics like frog legs and snails. There was also a cote de boeuf, frites bearnaise at 140 Euro for two persons 900g that we passed on. We were there in fall so lots of mushrooms on the menu. For a starter I had a soft boiled egg with nuts and a mushroom velouté. OK, but overall a bit on the heavy side. My husband had escalopes de foie gras with chanterelle mushrooms. The dish did not make sense. The foie was good, but the mushrooms were soft and the taste combination did not work. My main course, cod with bok choy, miso and beurre blanc was delicious, but would have been even better without the butter sauce. My husband had a dish of fowl with vegetables and a sauce of vin jaune with lots of saffron. Good quality meat and vegetables but the flavors did not gel. Good selection of wines and friendly service. Overall the dishes were on the heavy side, and not consistent.

Yelp
We trekked out here for our last lunch in the city and, after an initial hiccup with a locked door, Sellae did not disappoint. We got the daily 3-course lunch menu (note that it was only after noticing the French-language-only menu on a fellow diner's table--we otherwise weren't given the opportunity to order it). It was excellent value for the price and each course was flavorful, creative, and not too heavy. Sadly, we didn't get the baked bread until the very end of our entree, but overall it was still a good experience. I'd gladly come back for the specials!

Yelp
This place is fantastic, I'm amazed there are yet to be any reviews here! We came here for lunch and they have a 19 euro prix fixe for either an appetizer+main course or a main course+dessert and a 22 euro option for all three (along with a la carte). We had the full lunch option and it was a steal for the price - easily one of the best meals we had in Paris. The food was cooked perfectly, plated beautifully, and bursting with flavor. Seriously, if you can go, go right now, before this place gets even more of the recognition it fully deserves. You won't regret it!

Yelp
tl;dr: delicious, relaxed, inventive, low cost i came here with friends. we made a reservation in advance and our server seated us immediately. he was helpful and funny - constantly cracking jokes. the menu was short. we each opted to order prix fixe and choose one of everything from the menu. the dishes were focused and delicious, well-plated and inventive. most of the dishes were executed well and were well-received. some of the dishes fell short slightly. the snail ravioli were soaked in an overly-rich garlicy sauce that was a bit too much for me. the tarama was a bit flat. the patatas bravas were exactly what you'd expect. the plats were perfectly delicious with tender chicken and perfectly mid-rare meat. the desserts were also excellent. for the price, it was great.

Yelp
What a wonderful place. Delicious, original food. Warm and friendly service. Reasonable prices. Have been to many restaurants in Paris and this may be the best quality/price ratio. Highly recommend. Would compete with any New York City restaurant.

Yelp
A hidden gem! Easily the best meal we had in Paris! It seems most tourists don't know about it but the staff is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. The space is hip without being crowded. We ordered the €34 price fix which includes an appetizer, entree and dessert; each course more delicious than the last. The sauces are what dreams are made of and each dish is made with care. Excellent yet manageable wine selection. If you're in Paris, go today!
