Yelp
Walk in almost any evening of the week and you'll find a bustling atmosphere of waitresses speed walking around the restaurant with stacks of plates balanced on each hand; delivering hot meals and clearing out freshly polished off plates. Sounds of guests chattering reverberate throughout. A small gathering ensues at the front desk; some waiting to be seated, others waiting for their food order to pick up. This is Selma's, our neighborhood restaurant where busy is an understatement. But she more than makes up for it with delicious food, warm hospitality, and plenty of beer.
THE FOODS | Italian cuisine. I ordered...
- Garlic Cheese Bread | A bit salty for my taste, but I love the melted mozzarella yum cheese and garlic spread. The bread is soft & chewy. Served with marinara sauce. If you check into Selma's through Yelp, you can get garlic cheese bread for free. Alas, I didn't find out until after the fact.
- Lasagna of Love | Savory is the word. Creamy, rich ricotta cheese layered in between lasagna sheets and submerged in meaty marinara sauce. A thick layer of gooey mozzarella cheese sits on top. It comes with a side of soft garlic bread. This is my regular order at Selma's and I can't break away from it.
- Sam-Zone (Large) | They use their pizza dough and stuff it with mozzarella cheese, ricotta cheese, marinara sauce, sausages (add-on, paid $1.95 extra), pepperoni (add-on, paid $1.95 extra), and red onions (add-on, paid $1.95 extra). Thin sheets of provolone cheese are melted on top. It's one of the best calzones I've had in awhile.
THE SELMA'S FEELS | The vibe reminds me of the old sitcom, Cheers, with wooden furniture, brick layered walls, and comfortable leather bar seats. And like Cheers, there is a cozy familiarity where everybody knows your name. Kick back with one of their many beers on tap and watch the game, socialize, and make new friends.
THE PARKING SITUATION | Parking is ridonk in this shopping plaza. I'm not saying you can't find an open space, it just won't be close to the restaurant. There's a few nearby parking spaces dedicated to those picking up food.
THE ORDERING LOGISTICS | I ordered through UberEats and picked it up at the restaurant.
